It was a really nice day with the weather being less warm than usual, which Kaiser loved because she preferred having cold weather over hot weather being a cold-blooded creature of the night. It was too nice for her to be out in some random forest with a retarded vampire to watch him turn back into a human. The only reason she was doing that was because she was being paid to, obviously. Alistair, the client of this job, reached out to her to inform her that he was going to go through with that crazy ritual to turn himself back into a human. Honestly, Kaiser was not even sure if that ritual was going to work. Even if Alistair got the recipe from a ‘reliable source’, she still did not think that it would really go as described. Rituals and things like that...you just did not mess with them. What if you turned into a slimy frog instead?

If it was up to Kaiser, she would never trust a recipe to go through with a ritual even if the source claimed to be ‘reliable’ or whatever. Well if it was Kaiser, she would not even want to be anything else so it was out of the question anyway. The thought of earning money drove her to dress up and get out of her bedroom. She was planning on chilling for the entirety of the day, but with Alistair’s request being the type that required immediate attention, she could not chill like she had originally planned to. After taking some time to get ready to go out and face reality, Kaiser was finally out of her living quarters within the Daeva Eye guild compound and headed to the place that Alistair arranged for them to meet, the same place.

Kaiser was not really prepared to see what she was about to see. Alistair was in the clearing in the forest before her, which was good because she did not like waiting. She wanted to laugh, but suppressed the urge and it hurt. He had a whole ass cauldron right there in the middle of the clearing and Kaiser questioned herself. Why did she get involved in such retarded and crazy shit? She had never really witnessed or been a part of rituals and dark shit like that. It was weird for her even though she was a dark race. This was a first for her. Her first time witnessing some stupid vampire do a stupid ritual to become weak—er, becoming human again. The Daeva knew full well what she was getting herself when she signed up for this, but when she was actually seeing it all, it was a little bit much to process for her.

The other vampire, Alistair, greeted her and thanked her for coming to his aid. She did not respond and Alistair just nodded, explaining to her how this ritual would go so that she was not completely lost while she stood there to watch him. The cauldron was boiling what seemed like water, but she could not tell so she asked him what was the liquid inside the cauldron, to which Alistair replied by confirming that it was indeed water and nothing else. He was going to add the items that she gathered for him the last time, and after that he was going to drink it. The thought of drinking a mixture of the things she collected for him made her want to puke. Seriously? He was going to drink a mixture of all that shit? It was just too much to process.

After explaining to Kaiser how the procedure of the ritual was going to go, Alistair proceeded to add the ingredients to his race changing potion one by one. The liquid inside the cauldron which was supposed to be water turned progressively more disgusting after he added each of the items. She thought that he would be saying some weird incantations or something but it seemed like that was not necessary, which made her question if the ritual was actually legit or not even more. She knew that rituals like these, or any ritual for that matter, required some kind of incantation for the items to be mixed properly instead of turning into a disgusting mixture of dark race body parts. It was all really stupid to her anyway, so she just stood there watching, prepared to see something absurb happen before her very eyes. She had to mentally prepare herself because if she could not take it, she was just going to nope the fuck out of there.

Kasier stood still in her position as Alistair proceeded to get some of the mixture in a goblet or something that was made of bones. He explained that it was made of lich bones, and she wondered where he got those because she did not remember getting anything that belonged to a lich in the previous job that she was requested by Alistair. Maybe he got someone else to get it for him, or maybe he had a lich friend who offered him their bones or something. Kaiser was thinking about these stupid things because she wanted to be distracted for at least a few minutes even from the whole madness that was going on right now. She made a mental note never to help out with rituals anymore in the future.

The whole place was a mess. Alistair managed to tip over the cauldron while he was turning into a crazy beast and that got that disgusting tar like liquid to start spreading about the whole clearing. Kaiser was so done with this whole job and this stupid ritual business. Since Alistair was no longer the Alistair who hired her for the job, her brain went into ‘kill this motherfucker’ mode and the vampire moved back a little to be safe from the cauldron shit. She had already expected the new Alistair to start attacking her, which he did without hesitation. This further confirmed her assumption that the old Alistair was dead and gone and was now a totally insane freak of nature now. Kaiser took no time to begin her assault as well, which was instantaneous after she took her position about five meters away from the cauldron that was now tipped over and spilling its contents everywhere.

Kaiser opened her fist to create crash energy that emanated from her body—more specifically her hands—and covered an area of sixteen meters in diameter. Alistair was less than ten meters from her, so he would be caught within her spell, taking instant damage that was equal to two S-ranks. Although Kaiser did not stop. She opened it once again right after she employed the first spell, and released another wave of destructive crash energy that was in the shape of a dome this time since she was not airborne. It would be a sphere around her if she was flying or something. This spell also originated from her body and traveled at the speed of twenty meters per second, which was the standard speed for all of her tricks anyway. This wave dealt another S-rank damage to Alistair and that was enough.

Alistair lay flat on the ground after being completely knocked out by Kaiser’s spells. She made sure that he was actually gone and not pretending or something. The vampire approached the corpse of her dead client and checked if there was no chance of him coming back, and then proceeded to go through his pockets to get the money but while she was doing that his body completely turned into ash. Kaiser just sat there for a few seconds, next to a pile of ash really wondering if this was some kind of dream or something. The events of today were definitely on top of the list of ‘weirdest shit that ever happened to me’. Now she could not even get the money that she was promised. She did not give up however. She went through the freaking pile of ashes and believe it or not, she found coin in it.

That was all she needed. After keeping the money and patting away all the dust that clung to her clothes, the vampire just nope’d the fuck out of that forest. She was never getting involved in no goddamn ritual business, like ever. Although she was going to think of this day in the future and laugh about it. What an idiot she was, to think that a ritual to turn a vampire into a human would actually work. Kaiser was pretty sure though, about why the whole thing failed. It was because he did not say those damn incantations that everyone used for rituals. She was sure of it. A ritual without incantations? What a joke. Anyway, the vampire left the forest in a hurry so she could curl up in her bed and chill for the rest of the day. Just the thought of it made her happy.
