Having her own guild was great, but having her own living space within the gargantuan compound of the guild was even better. The architect did a real good job in filling up the blanks that Kaiser and her guildmates would not have known (since they were not architects), like how to minimize the space that the connecting tube from the living quarters to the main guildhall would take. Anyway, Kaiser was just in her office sorting some files that held together intel on some important figures of Fiore when Xandra entered, waving a request sheet. The vampire chuckled upon hearing the nature of the request. She had not taken a request in a long time, well a request that was actually requested to her or her guild, so that was a change in her usual flow of things. “Sure, any chance I get to show those dirty lycans their place,” she said and put away the files that she was sorting.

Kaiser downed the rest of her coffee and got out of her seat, pinching Xandra’s butt softly just to tease, “Aight, let’s go bitch,” she would say and lead the way. This would not be the first time she was dealing with these pesky lycans. She had a lot of experience with them actually after having settled in Dahlia for some time now. It had been a whole year since the times she was fucking around with a lich in Crocus, and a lot of change had taken place.

On their way to Aldenwald, Kaiser took a look at the sheet that Xandra brought so that she understood the details of it. It was fairly simple. There was a pack of dogs making trouble. Obliterate said pack and the job was complete. She liked that. Nowadays it was easier to get work in the city because people recognized their guild as a reliable group for Dahlians, and so most of the time, they came directly to them for help. It was not like the vampire to be ‘helping’ people left and right like she was doing now, but it was for the guild, and since the guild was her new purpose after founding it, she would do anything for it. Besides taking requests from the city folk, Kaiser had the responsibility of handling paperwork for the guild, although she kept it to a minimum.

“Anything goes wrong, I’m throwing you at the dogs and I’ma run,” she laughed heartily. Kaiser had ‘friends’ now, and it turned out that she was the kind of person who would joke about things like these, and say things that were true in a sarcastic manner, although that was not the case right now. She spoke more casually with them too, and liked to mess with them. Maybe it was because she had been living on her own for such a long time, being with her guildmates made her feel like she was a part of some kind of family.

Arriving at Aldenwald for like the twentieth time that week, Kaiser took the lead in finding the pack of lycans they were supposed to beat up. After all, she was familiar with this area.

Normally it would be a bit wild for two girls to be out here in Aldenwald on their own. It was a place filled with monsters that nobody dared to trespass for fear of getting mauled to death. Kaiser however was a monster as well, just not the kind with fur. The silence of the spooky woods was punctuated by a distant hooting of a random owl. Kaiser was not even aware of the existence of owls in Aldenwald, or maybe she just never paid attention. “Sticking with me guarantees your safety, good call,” she replied with a wink. Before long they would come to a spot inhabited by the dogs. Noticing their arrival the lycans came out to greet them, not in a friendly way though. They probably thought that this was a chance for them to get a free meal. Once they had circled the two of them, the vampire and ex-knight stood back to back. There were six lycans in total, each and every one of them had a smug look on their faces.

“Which one of you mutts is the boss here?” asked the vampire, keeping a close eye on the three on her side. She was hoping that one of them spoke up, rather than the ones on Xandra’s side so she could initiate the inevitable battle. From the looks of the six of them, Kaiser could tell that they were the ‘adults’ around here and probably came out to take care of the intrusion.

Just as Kaiser had wished, one of the lycans on her side of the circle spoke up, with an arrogant ring to his voice, which made it even more interesting. She wanted to smash that confidence and wipe that ugly cocky smirk off of his dirty face. For someone who did not know who Kaiser was, of course he would make that mistake. Everyone who knew Kaiser was and was not on par with her power level would definitely be fearful enough to avoid making any sort of facial expression that would seem as though they act superior to her. Kaiser had met a lot of people who had tried, and successfully diminished the pride of each and every one of these individuals. It was not her concern, whether or not they survived her lesson, but to show the rest of the herd what it was like to be the top bitch, the peak of the food chain. Being a vampire, she had that predator vibe, and so did these little dogs, but it was nothing compared to hers. In fact, all of their power combined was not enough to beat her. It was that much of a gap. Or so she would think. Kaiser was cocky too. And much cockier than these dirty little lycans probably. But she had a reason to be that way. She had the power to back it.

“Xandra, you can stay over there for a while. I have to show them who’s the master race,” she told her guildmate, pointing at a very far spot from where they currently stood. It was kind of funny that the lycans were just watching them as they did so. They were really underestimating the two of them, which was a huge advantage for them. The way that Kaiser operated in battle was kind of not very compatible in case there were allies because of how her spells were huge and just blasted everything inside the dimension into smithereens using destructive crash energy. Once Xandra was out of harm’s way, the vampire would smile at the man who just spoke up, talking about he was the boss and that it was a pretty stupid idea for the Dahlians to send two small girls into the spooky woods. He did mention that he thought that it was almost as if they were offering them food, to which Kaiser’s vocal chords almost exploded with how loudly she screamed and laughed. It was hilarious, everything he said. She was still laughing when she opened her palm to activate a spell that was an area of effect spell which covered the area that all the lycans were standing in. She made sure of that. Once the area was filled with crash energy, causing a mini earthquake, the lycans began to drop to the ground, making their unbearable screeching sounds to express their pain. It was like she was at an orchestra of death, but it was wildly amusing for the psychotic vampire.

You would have thought that this was it, but it was not. Kaiser knew this however, that the disgusting sounds that the lycans were making would bring on more of their furry mates and she was ready to handle more of them. Just as her crash magic spell dissipated into nothingness, a bunch of other lycans appeared at the scene, kind of intimidated at first since six adult lycans were laying flat on the ground and there was only one attacker AND what was even crazier she was a five foot six inches woman who was not wearing any sort of magical equipment on her whatsoever. She did not even bring her powerful staff that would give them death within seconds with the whole plague effect. She loved that effect and she loved giving people diseases, but she was feeling a little energetic today and wanted to get back into using her magic. She had just been creating new techniques and automatically learning them because she had the brains like that. But of course she needed to use them to get back into it and have practice. If she stayed without using her magic for a long time, her skills would get rusty, and she was not having that. Now that the adult lycans were gone, she did not have to exert herself so much. The new lycans that arrived were at first intimidated but quickly became enraged and ready to fight, which was again a sight of amusement for the vampire.

They began to charge, like moths coming towards a flame, but with the intent to die. Kaiser once again took a deep breath. She was not even going to get to have a chat with these small fries before she smoked them harder than she did to the adult lycans. She laughed a bit and then, just to make fun of them, spun on her heels like a little ballerina, and emitted another destructive wave of crash energy that would send them all flying back and hopefully killing them as well. Once they were all in little piles of unconscious and dead lycans, Kaiser clapped her hands free of any debris. The weaker ones seemed to have died altogether, and since she performed two spells the damage was enough to completely wipe out the adult lycans who were lying there unconscious. She could see that almost all of them were bleeding from their ears, probably because they could not handle the crazy vibrations of her magic since it was basically shockwaves. Once she was sure that no more were going to come out of hiding, she called over to Xandra. “How was that? Did you learn anything?” she joked. Then she told her that it was time to go back. After wiping out the whole pack of wolves, hopefully the Dahlians would see them as an even more reliable guild, so that Kaiser and her guild can leech off of their resources to profit, like with Warmwool Inn.

After they were done with the job, it was time to return to their humble abode that was the Daeva Eye guild. They walked back the way they came pretty much and had a nice chat along the way. Since Kaiser did not really have to exert herself much she had the energy to walk back without being tired at all. After turning into a powerful creature of the night, the brunette barely experienced fatigue. But of course if she had to exert herself then it was inevitable that she would feel tired. Since she basically wiped out the entire pack of lycans, she could call up the officials of Dahlia confidently and say that the mission was complete. The way that Xandra teased about having seen better made Kaiser chuckle. “But that was just like a tenth of my power you know,” she retorted. Kaiser’s self esteem had no boundaries. She normally thought of herself better than most people. It was undeniable that she was the most powerful among her guildmates, save for Venus, that girl was something else and the vampire knew that already the moment they met. Although this did not intimidate her or lower her self esteem knowing that someone who was more powerful within the guild. In fact, this weirdly gave her strength, which was very unlike herself to tell the truth. A lot of things that was happening now concerning the guild made Kaiser a different way compared to how she used to be. After all, a year had passed and a year was actually a long time if you thought about it. Many changes took place, and those changes included the way she thought about some things. Kaiser did not have friends before, and it was safe to say now that she had ‘friends’. Her guildmates were her ‘friends’ even though it actually felt more like ‘family’ now. Even the crazy psychotic demon loli known as the Witch of Carnage felt like family to her, which was absurd. In normal circumstances, she would only view her as a threat or a rival considering her power level, but that was not the case now.

The journey back to the guild was much faster than the journey to the woods, but that was always the case with travel. The return journey always seemed to take less time. Maybe it was not true, but that was how it felt like. It was probably just an illusionary effect of time, but whatever it was, it felt nice that they were finally back in the guild. By this point in time, the majority of the citizens of Dahlia city recognized them and even greeted them when they saw them. They did not even need to show them their guild crests to let them know who they were. After all, Kaiser and her guildmates had done some progressive things for the city and they viewed them as a reliable group of people. After arriving at the guild, Kaiser went straight back into the office where she was at the beginning of the day. She still had files to sort and some other responsibilities to take care of as the guildmistress of Daeva Eye. One of her main focuses right now was to implement the changes that she promised when she took control of the Warmwool Inn. There were a lot of changes she planned; a long list. And she planned on making all of the items on the list come to fruition. But of course she needed to make sure that the officials of Dahlia were informed of what they had done just now since they were the ones who requested it to be done. She called up the officials using the lacrima communication device she had on her desk in her office and informed them that the mission has been accomplished and the money could be transferred directly into their debit accounts made at the Fiorian Bank. She made sure to add that Xandra was also part of the job, and that the pay would go to both herself and Xandra. The officials were very happy about this and transferred the money almost immediately, on the same day. The notification that she received when she got the cash in her account put a huge smile on her face.
