The sun was high in the sky on the beautiful springtime morning, nary a cloud in sight of the magnificent Domus Flau: an arena as old as the capital city itself. Built at the summit of a nearby mountain the Domus had stood idle, only being used for the occasional fight between training mages looking to strengthen their own abilities. Never before has it been used for something as grand as the event today. The Grand Magic Games: a tournament featuring every guild in Fiore. A chance for every guild mage to showcase their abilities, and the strength of their guild. Every seat was occupied, as the public waited for the first fight to begin. The arena itself, a circle of 100 meters diameter with marble flooring, was watched over by four warriors: Hercales, Shaka Zulu, Miyamoto Musashi and Beowulf. Four of the legendary Nine Heroes, each with their glorious weapon immortalised in stone beside them, eager to bare witness to the power of Fiore. Both contestants will be instructed to walk towards the center of the ring, stopping in their tracks once both are an equal distance from the center and 25m apart. The fight will then be started via the sound of a blast from the referee. "The match between Kazimir Seiryu and Konstantin Sokolov will shortly begin. These two mages, two of the few surviving Nephilim, are representing the guilds they themselves founded during the past year: Phoenix Feather and Sentinel Syndicate respectively. With unique powers never seen before, and the strength of the Seraphim blessing them, the battle between Guild Masters is sure to be an exciting one." |

The crowds around him became less and less as he walked closer to the contestants' only area. Even with the crowd becoming more distant the roar of their excitement permeated the air. It sent of chill up his spine. Not one for the grandiose, he was unaccustomed to the fanfare.
He made his ways past the security in the hallway standing like monoliths paving the way to the sunlit staircase beckoning him to the battlefield. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He let it out slowly. His mind raced with whatever strategies he could think of when the two forces of heaven collided.
The announcer called out. His voice rang cleared than a symphony in a silent room. He took his first steps up the path. The light warmed his face. Every movement closer was met with a more detailed explanation of who he was. First step 'Nephilim.' Second step 'Phoenix Feather,' Third step 'Battle of Guild Masters.'
He stood in the grandeur of the arena, surrounded by the four statues. Most of the people only knew him from this introduction alone. He rubbed the back of his neck and rocked his head side to side, mostly out of being nervous.
In the stands, his eyes glanced at the man he had hunted for. Vali was his name. He eluded the mage and there was no doubt animosity for what had happened. The wind mage looked away, pained at what he had done and casting aside strife to focus on the task at hand.
His eyes wandered toward his guildmates. Most of them present and the others diligently off on assignments. He wished Noyiah was there to give him support but this was the nature of the job. The seats were filled with strange faces and allies alike, from guilds all over. Nuala sat with her hood up but she was still recognizable. He'd have to cheer for both Iris and her when they collided.
In the crowd he saw Kenzo, awaiting his turn. He remembered the man's advice. To block out the crowd, see it as nothing more than a spar between to people. With his mind calmer, he blocked out the roar and walked to the center of the ring. A man stood there with his hand waving for the mage to stop and stay put, 25 meters away from where his opponent would be.
Kaz loosened the knot of his gi, already knowing that this would be a trying contest. He rubbed the bottom of his boot across the marble floor of the arena, testing its fortitude. Looking at the large boundaries he nodded. His magic required space and this was bigger than most of the cramped places he had been forced to fight in. When he was within speaking distance of Kon he would give him a smile and a simple nod, "Pleasure to see you again. Under less dismal circumstances."

The man wasted no time in getting into his fighting stance.
"Yeah, I'd say it's been about that long. I wasn't too surprised to learn you became a guild master," he said respectfully as he brought his right foot back and his hands up to his chin, for his fighting stance. The left side of his body aimed at his opponent with his hands open, but in a boxer's stance. He gave no thought to the fact that he was speaking to a dark guild master. For him it was just like speaking to an old comrade. And as long as no one was committing crimes he had no reason to worry about his public image. Kon's dark guild did intrigue the wind mage. He knew Kon to be a man that cared acted for the safety of the people. The aura he gave off was more of a due what needs to be done type and wondered if that was what brought him to be known as a dark guild.
They stood facing each other. Both waiting on the signal from the referee. Kaz's front foot turned and dug into the arena to get a good feel of it. His eyes fixed on his opponent. The sound rang and the match had begun.
Kaz brought both his hands back a few inches toward his ear. He made a fist with his left and put it in the palm of his right. At the same time, he dashed 12.5 meters forward to the right of his opponent at an angle, his ending movement would put him 14 meters away from his opponent. As soon as he began his dash, he would thrust both his hands forward, his right hand swung out like a swipe reminiscent of throwing a baseball and at the same time his left hand shot forward like a punch, both at the same level to give the idea of a single spell motion.
Despite the seemingly same motion. The right hand shot a blade of wind at his opponent with a magic circle appearing around his hand. The blade of wind would dissipate once it reached its maximum range of 10 meters.
A magic circle also appeared around his left hand. His fist was thrust at the same time as the right hand and aimed a few inches at the open space visible behind and beside Kon's head and right shoulder. A magic circle would appear there and a blade of wind(Breeze Slash) would shoot forth from it, aimed at Kon's upper back. This attack would happen before the right-handed blade of wind would reach its maximum distance of ten meters. Kaz would use his fist to guide the trajectory of the wind blade at Kon's back unless he turned to face the wind blade in which case Kaz would guide it towards his torso.

The barrage of his spells seemed to have little effect as the weather turned dark from Kon's intense magical energy. Dark clouds covered the whole arena casting an ominous shadow over them. As a wind mage and one akin to the storm he knew what this meant, but it was far greater than anything he had seen before. Kon could reach everyone in the arena with that power. He had no idea what all Kon could do but teleporting and having such immense control a storm the man seemed unstoppable.
Rain began to fall on the battlefield and dampen the ground as sparks came and dotted the statues around them. With his opponent, he didn't doubt that the rain itself would be dangerous. Kaz had only a brief moment to respond and from the looks of it, there was no amount of space he could cover to dodge the attack. Instead, the wind mage who had a hand free after throwing the gale slash utilized one of his most potent offensive spells. Finally using his magic for what he intended it to be for, an offense for defense.
Knowing that lightning would strike from overhead, and rain and spark began to fall, the wind mage brought his hand up as the rain fell, not knowing if it was a massive attack or a singular bolt. He thrust his hand above his head, creating a white magic circle and a 4-meterx4-meter column of wind roared to life inches above the top of his head. If magic was meant to rain down upon him, he would meet it.
The raging tornado he cast would get struck by the bolt that was on its way to the wind mage. The collision sent sparks out, filling the air with light and electricity. The wind rushed out and thinned out in wisps as the spells clashed and canceled each other out. His tornado attack becoming an umbrella of wind. One that was only possible from the warning of the sky changing.
Kon had vanished from where he stood. The one thing that Kaz knew about the man was that he could teleport and with him, out of eyesight, the logical conclusion would be behind him or in the air. Kaz dashed forward ten meters again and spun around to scan the air and area behind him as a voice spoke into his mind. He was now 36 meters away from Kon.
Kaz laughed in his thoughts, surprised that his own could also be sent to Kon but he could sense the magical connection. "No hard feelings. Just doing what you have to." Kaz said looking directly at the man, despite his invisibility. The blowing wind shifting Kaz's hair to the side to reveal the magatama on his forehead. "Well, the rune knights fell apart so I started a guild of knights to uphold what RK should have," he said as kicked his foot back and dashed forward 18 meters with a powerful gust of wind, to his opponent traveling at 32.5 meters per second. He stopped 18 meters away from Kon and roared to the heavens. A white tiger appeared with the wind mage roaring alongside him. The sky already dark was instantly filled with the turbulent wind as a dozen tornados crashed covering a 32-meter diameter crashed down around Kon, with him at the center of it.
As the tornado crashed down and tore into the arena's floor, Kaz kept an eye out for everything around him and if Kon didn't stop the tornado or dash to a side Kaz would be confident the man teleported behind him once more. Although with The warning sign of the clouds gathering and rain falling gone now, it would be dangerous if not impossible to deal with Kon's lightning strike in time.
"If you want to build a better world. I'm all on board. But then why are you a dark guild if that's you're goal,"his tone was curious and not accusatory. Kon no doubt had more up his sleeve. And Kaz had to play things carefully. This man was truly dangerous and even more frightening that he had chosen to become a dark guild.

As the spells had hit at the same time the two mages had a moment where Kaz tested his hearing and Kon nullified the spell. Time enough for Kaz to fix his eyes on the man before him as Kon stood in the flurry of gold dust and quickly dashed at Kazimir. The wind mage looked at the particles that was once he spell, and narrowed his eyes at his opponent who seemed to have an endless bag of tricks.
At the same time Kon pressed off the ground to initiate his dash, Kazimir snapped to attention and instinctively reacted with his most common tactic. "Whoa," he audibly said as he reacted and thrust his hand forward for another spell that shot the wind mage backward at 32.5 meters/second. It was the only reaction he could think of at the time with the confusion of his lost hearing, but he knew he was in a battle against his strongest adversary yet and needed to hang in. As soon as Kaz cast the spell that shot a gust of wind and propelled him backward Kon drew his hand to the side of his face and let loose two consecutive arrows.
When the spells left Kon's hand and veered towards Kaz, the wind mage took in a breath and roared. Kaz was moving faster than the arrows and would buy him some time. From the mage's mouth came a shell of wind. The arrows soared toward the wind mage's torso as Kaz's shell of wind flew over the 30-centimeter arrows at Kon and would erupt upon impact into a tornado.
Moving faster than the arrows, Kaz clapped his hands sending his senses out around him and put his feet back on the ground to quickly dash left, which would cause the arrows to whiz by him as he traveled away from them. He once held doubt about what his magic had become but was it not for his accelerated movement he may not have made it out.
The light from the arrows illuminated the ragged and torn wizard robes he now wore. As soon as he had dashed left and off the trajectory of the arrows he would thrust his hand in the air to summon the whirlwind again that would act as an umbrella against the falling lightning. As Kaz dashed to the side Kon was already bringing his hand up to teleport away whether he was hit or not by the explosive shell of wind. Â
Kon had teleported and Kaz's gut reaction was to spin around and face him as he thought he'd attack from the back. He spun around and scanned the area for the magic circle that would appear, but there was none. He kept the windstorm trailing above him and dropped to the ground in a roll having taken a second to not see the magic circle that would have been behind him. Realizing Kon wasn't there, the wind mage dropped into a roll, attempting to dodge anything coming his way and whirled back around to face his original area. He'd have his vibration sense up to detect anything and that came close and help him react in time.
"That's the same reason I left the knights. Too much Corruption. But you always struck me as a man who wanted what was good for the world. I imagine even though you're in a dark guild you still want those things." The wind mage projected back to Kon as he held the spell active above his head.
He ran at the man and thrust his hand forward while he spoke. A 4-meter diameter whirlwind sprang (consuming wind) to life and rushed towards Kon.
"You have an impressive arsenal," Kaz thought projected to Kon as he maintained the whirlwind above his head and the one he aimed at Kon.
He was thinking in his head but it was the loudest thing to him as everything else was silent. The lightning and the raging wind. all of it like a silent movie. He was comforted by one thing. He could still feel the vibration of the wind in the air and the arrows Â

This was a scenario he was fearful of but also one that he wanted. Kon was too dangerous at a distance and it seemed he was ready to go in for the kill. He was no longer letting his thoughts reach out to Kaz as the connection broke. The storm clouds up above receded and let the sun in once more.
Before Kaz could react, Kon latched onto his right arm with his golden glove and Kaz would dismiss the windstorm he was sustaining with his left arm. He could fill his right arm in his opponents grasp fearful of the repercussions. Kon's other hand grasped onto Kaz's neck. The sudden sensation rippled through the wind mage sparking something primal. Something he thought he had gotten full control over. His eyes looked cold and distant and his mind went to nothing but fight and survival in unison with the white tiger's spirit. His comrades in the guild weren't able to fight but Kaz was not done yet, he would fight for them.
As Kon's hand grabbed Kaz's neck and all those thoughts happened in the fraction of a second. The wind mage still had his left hand free and it was at ear level, having just dismissed the windstorm In an instant, he thrust his hand out to latch onto Kon's face in a distance less than a foot like a tiger's claw.
As his hand made contact with Kon's face he cast his spell using the thrusting motion from the strike. A large whirlwind(Tiger's Consuming Wind) roared to life and would engulf Kon's head at point-blank range with Kaz's fingers griped on the grooves of his face. The man would be unable to teleport as his two hands held onto Kaz let alone the minuscule amount of reaction time from such a personal range.
The attack would probably cause the man to lose his grip if not outright end it. As the spell hit Kon, Kaz would kick his foot forward and cause a gust of wind(ballet on the sky) that sent the wind mage flying backward and free from his grasp and range. Just as the wind would begin to propel the mage he would exhale a shell of wind(Tiger's Roar) to strike Kon once more if the man was up and fighting.
If Kon was standing Kaz would continue and in less than half a second the wind mage would be 18 meters away and would roar to the heavens once more and bring down a dozen tornadoes descending(Fearsome Descent) on Kon if he was still up and in range. This time Kazimir's spell turned the sky dark with clouds looming overhead. He would end his movement there standing more like a tiger than a man. A crouched position with one hand on the arena floor like a claw the other to the side of his face.
- OOC knock out/ hinder:
Tiger's consuming wind was launched as Kaz grabbed Kon's face making it cast while in contact. As per endurance rules I would like to call this a vital knock-out blow as there are multiple vital places in the head.
Kon's endurance is A-rank from 66 endurance and Kaz's spell damage is S-rank.
"Vital Hit: No matter your endurance, a well-placed attack can still knock you out or cause serious consequences. For example, any attack directly to your eye is still going to blind you, and a slice across your throat, or an arrow through your heart will definitely knock you out. Vitals are scattered throughout the opponents body, and it is up to the users to call a vital hit and when they believe they have landed a knockout blow. If there is a disagreement, a battlemod may be requested."
Hindered: When you have been hit with a damage that is of higher-rank than your pain tolerance, there are consequences depending on where you are hit. These consequences last for the entire thread, unless the damage is healed or if your endurance is buffed enough for you to handle the pain.
Kon has the Millenium eye but all damage that would be done to it is still applied to the wearer.

Kaz, post #8, Kaz tanked an S rank lightning bolt to his whole body, and his damage calculations are fine. He's also completely deaf from it. He proceeds to dodge or block the other attacks that follow.
Kon, post #9, Kon teleports directly in front of Kaz, having canceled his invisibility. He uses the surprise to grab onto Kaz's right arm with his hand of midas, and onto Kaz's throat with his free hand. Kon adds in 1 trap, saying that if Kaz had somehow canceled Kon's grabs by retreating that he would retreat himself.
Kaz, post #10, did not pull away at all. Instead, he let his right arm be grabbed, and his throat be grabbed. Kaz, you try to state your hand was ear level from your spell, but your spell specifies it's at shoulder level- Slightly lower. This means when you grab Kon's face, it comes from below his point of vision, and wouldn't be seen until basically right on his skin. This means there's nothing Kon can do to prevent the point blank S rank damage to his face/head.
Now, using teleportation means you cannot attack after using it in a post, nor can you PREPARE an attack. This means that Kon's grabs could not have been prepped attacks.
However, lets say they could be used to attack. The arrows require a spell motion that was never performed, so that was not done. The Midas arm would have squeezed, instantly crushing Kaz's arm unless his armor still had some life in it. And Kon's prosthetic hand, at 6 strength, would not be nearly enough to instantly crush someones windpipe. Especially not when holding your whole throat. It'd be different, perhaps, if he had grabbed your windpipe specifically. He did not.
So Kaz's point blank S rank to Kon's face and all around his head. S rank damage is enough to destroy buildings, cause major damage to cities and the ground, potentially even destroy parts of the arena. This S rank to the face would, at minimum, cave in Kon's 1 real eye. Like completely. Like to the back of his skull.
This would cause S~ rank internal damage to Kon's skull, which would knock him out instantly. The fight is over, and Kaz has won.

An awestruck expression swept over the arena as a dozen tornados crashed down, threatening imminent destruction before being turned into a flurry of harmless gold particles wafting over their heads and decorating the arena floor. A lightning bolt crashed down on the wind mage and shattered the ground beneath.
The two angels continued their rapid dance mixed with arrows and wind. Their feet splashing in the small pools of water left by the rainfall.
IN the final moments the landscape changed. Kon went on the offensive and appeared visible to the crowd and latching onto the wind mage. The crowd erupted in a mix of feelings but all of it born from blood rushing in untamed enthusiasm.
Kaz brought his hand down on the man's face and a terrible tornado sprang to life, engulfing Kon's head. The whirlwind bore into the arena leaving a fissure behind and spraying the rain in all directions. A 40-meter long gash was left and the clouds parted as Kon fell.
The wind mage knelt down before the man's body could hit the ground and slid his arm beneath Kon's to catch him. With Kaz's fatigue, he caught the man but also fell to his knee breathing heavily. Now that the battle was done he could lean into the pain and fatigue he felt. "Sorry about that. Not the nicest thing i've ever done. But ya really scared me there."
The crowd was cheering at the fearsome battle they had just watched. A mix of support for both contestants with a hint of confusion at the sight of a light guild member helping a dark guild member. Kaz stood up with Kon and would take the man to his side of the arena. Slowly Kaz's hearing came back and the hollers of the crowd finally tingled in his eardrum.
He carried the man and looked at his metal arms. The former Knight had been through a lot. And had paid a high price for power. Kaz could only hold that question for the next time they would meet one another.
"Rest easy," he said as he handed the man over to people on his side.
"Let him know that I'd be interested in a meeting sometime," Ka would say as he walked off to tend to his own injuries and evaluate how the fight went. Thinking about all the ways he could improve himself further.
