One of the most beautiful structures in all of Fiore, the Kardia Cathedral boasts some impressive architecture and a dedicated number of patrons that attend the place for worship, and simple enjoyment. Their leader a kind and just pastor who only wants what’s best for both their flock and the town as a whole. Offering the people of the guild the chance to prove their intentions through actions rather than words, they have decided to give them a challenge that will ‘save two lambs with the one crook’ by asking the guild that wishes to take control, to intervene as a dark cult in the town begins to corrupt the more vulnerable souls in Magnolia, preferably through diplomacy with violence as a last resort, in order to win their trust.

The warm beams of the sun blared through the sky as the norm ensued. People within the town of Magnolia were always bustling about, busily occupied with their own days but not without their usual smiles and laughter that laced the streets. It was such a town which carried a positive atmosphere with it which the guild, Daeva Eye, were going to take over. Over the last year, the guild had done nothing but grown stronger as it became a home to women across the globe who travelled far and wide in order to reach them. It seemed as if the word had travelled about their growing power and that wasn't the end. They wanted to grow even more. After all, the more they grow, the bigger their home becomes and that is what they had wished for.

The only problem that lay before them and their trudge onto the path to acquire Magnolia was the fact that it was already home to guild which had been established there for ages; Fairy Tail. Although, to her knowledge, Fairy Tail was more of a guild that lived in concurrence to the town rather than one that protected it. Despite being a guild that had been established for years, they seemed relatively relaxed when it came to acquiring power. At least, that's how she perceived them to be. Regardless of whether it was true or not, what mattered to her was the fact that there was a far greater chance for the Dahlia based guild bustling with women to take over the town. With that intention in mind, she trudged along the streets towards the large, white marble building that lay before her. A place admired by many individuals whose admiration was seen clearly through the sheer crowd of people who visited the place; the Kardia cathedral

The structure of the cathedral towered over it's neighbouring buildings as it exuded an aura of radiance and elegance. The shimmering marble building reflected the golden rays of the sun as it looked like it was glistening underneath the sunlight. The Bellan walked over the spotless flight of white stairs along with many other. Some of those around her were here to pray to their very god for a future filled with blessings while others, who were usually tourists, were glancing around in awe as they saw something so beautiful which would forever remain ingrained in their memory. There was more to this place than the sheer beauty of its build and its allure towards people of all kinds. Even Xandra, a woman who didn't believe in a higher power, stood there in awe as she admired the structure. Alas, she was not here to pray for a better future. Instead, she was there to set her guild off on the path of a brighter future.

She sauntered into the building which was brimming with curious individuals. Although the commotion was kept to a bare minimum out of respect for the purity of the building, the faces that surrounded her beamed in a state of awe and joy as they marvelled upon the integrity of the place. Slipping out from the crowd, the pink haired mage looked around until her gaze landed upon a young woman dressed in black who greeted people with smiles. Despite her limited knowledge about the place, she knew from the mere outfit that it was a none. She walked up to the woman and greeted her with a smile which was returned, only to ask further about the whereabouts of the pastor. The pastor of Kardia Cathedral was well known for his kindness as he cared deeply for his city and its citizens.

Her request was met with a positive smile as the nun smiled and led her deeper into the building. She followed the lady before her until they diverted away from the crowd, setting off into an empty corridor that emitted feelings of warmth and calmness. As she walked, she made sure to take a good look around, admiring the simplicity and beauty of the place as it was made sure to represent the purity of the religion through it's very structure. It was admiring how they managed to keep the place so clean and unstained but perhaps that was one of the many reasons why it was so loved.

It took no more than a few minutes of sauntering around for them to reach two large wooden doors, which she assumed where the pastor was. Gently pushing open the doors, the nun walked in and it served as an indication to the female to follow and indeed, that's what she did. Once inside, she was met with a series of individuals who seemed to be more fatigued than those outside and yet, the smiles on their faces said otherwise. To her, they looked like individuals who were clinging onto hope for their respective futures as their hope appeared to be through the words of the pastor. He went around from person to person, whispering to them with a pleasant smile that rested on his lips as he grasped their hands within his as a sign of support. He seemed to be someone who offered hope to the poor citizens of this town and so she realized, no wonder people adore him so much. After all, a man who protected them from harm through the power of the God they believed in was sure to be loved. She stood for a while, waiting for him to finish performing his duties.

Once he was done giving out his blessings, the nun whom she had come with walked up to him, whispering something in his ear to which, his eyes darted towards the Bellan. Nodding her head slightly in acknowledgement as a smile laced her lips, she was greeted with a similar response from the pastor who then walked up to her. Mimicking how she had seen others greet him, the Enchantress placed a hand on her chest and lightly bowed as he placed a hand on her head to show that he had given her his blessings. He wasn't an old man, rather young in fact as she assumed him to be in his mid-thirties. However, he age was the least of her concerns.

She introduced herself as Xandra Queen, a member of the guild Daeva Eye to which his ears perked up. He motioned for her to walk alongside him as he trudged along the corridors of the building and she gladly abided. Despite his appearance, he was a man who did not enjoy beating around the bush as he immediately asked about the reason for her visit. She smiled as he had displayed a characteristic she quite enjoyed. It would have been daunting to have to continue unnecessary small talk and so, she explained to him her reason for visiting. Her guild, Daeva Eye, wanted to become an ever present source of safety and security for those within the town of Magnolia and for that, they needed the cathedral's approval. After all, it was one of the leading powers within the city. The pastor fell into a state of thought before voicing out his concern for the already present guild, Fairy Tail. As much as she didn't want to do so, she expressed her confidence in her guild and their ability to protect the city which they needed and it was something Daeva Eye could offer.

He nodded his head along with her words before halting his steps. He looked towards her as he heaved a sigh, admitting that she was right. Even he seemed to acknowledge the benefits of the guild taking control of the city which he clearly expressed. However, to expect no twist to this was a foolish thing. She was right to expect a test where she would have to represent her guild and showcase their abilities. What the test was however, was something far from her comprehension.

He expressed his concerns about a growing dark cult within the city. Their whereabouts were rather mysterious but what he did know was that they were leading poor and vulnerable citizens away to the dark side. He worried about what was happening within the place as there was little to no information about them and that was perhaps, far more concerning about actually knowing what was going on. What he expected from her was simple, to find out exactly what they were doing, more than the bare minimum of information which claims that they are turning citizens to the dark side. He wanted her to ensure a diplomatic stance on the issue without engaging in violence. It was rather odd as he seemed to want her to convince a dark cult to stop doing what they did without any use of violence. From her experience, she wasn't sure if it would go well but that was the part that he was testing her on.

His kind persona was one that didn't tolerate any harm and perhaps that's what he wanted to test. He wanted to see if the guild could solve issues without resorting to violence, even when it didn't seem like an option. She couldn't help but scoff out a laugh. He was indeed smart.

She immediately set out in order to accomplish the task that was given to her. It was a chance for her to prove herself and her guild. If she emerged successful, they would be able to take over Magnolia. While the city would thrive under their protection, they would grow stronger. As much she disliked it, it was indeed the strong and powerful that would emerge victorious in the end. In this world of magic, she knew she had to be one of those strong and powerful individuals but rather than simply doing so alone, she wanted to do so with her whole guide.

As the afternoon sun started setting, she walked through the streets of the town, interrogating around the city in an attempt to find the cult. Her way of doing so was simple, by disguising herself as someone who wished to become a part of this dark cult. It wasn't extremely difficult once she had had started. Like every city out there, Magnolia too had it's fair share of slums where shady and questionable people roamed around and about. Despite the town's cheerful persona, there lurked dangers within the dark and it was these dangers which she attempted to make use from. From asking around on the main street, she stumbled across a small medical store located in the far corner of a eerily quiet street.

Everything about the area screaming in suspicion as she straightened her face before stepping forward. Once she stumbled into the small shop, her face scrunched up as if representing her pained expression. Although her acting wasn't extremely great, the darkness that shrouded the shop proved to be in her favour. Through the dull light, she could see a silhouette standing next to the counter. As she stepped forward, she was able to see the man's face.

He had a scar on his face which extended from the corner of his forehead to his lips as a foul expression rested on his face. No matter what, the least she could decipher was that he was definitely no doctor. At least not one who greeted customers with a smile. She couldn't help but wonder how this tiny store even made it's sales unless of course, that's not what it is meant for. As if on cue, she let out a pained voice as she cried out about how her husband was dying and she needed medicine. Luckily, the simplicity of her outfit was enough to dupe him into thinking that she wasn't someone who was extremely rich.

As she went on wailing about how she would do anything, going as far as to express the idea of selling her soul for a dramatic flare, his ears perked up. "Anything you say?" She desperately nodded her head as he seemed to be falling for the trap he had laid out to her. Gesturing for her to come closer, he whispered about how there was indeed a way for her to save her husband, a way no one should find out. While she internally screamed in happiness, her eyes expressed the desperation of a becoming widow as she nodded her head. "Anything at all."

He nodded her head, gesturing for her to follow him as he dug deeper into the shop. Towards the back, there was a door hidden behind a portrait which he removed. He opened the door, glancing back to ensure she followed him and so, the brave female put on a quivering face as she expressed nervousness and fear. After all, that's what a normal reaction would entail. The door led to a dark stairway which extended downwards as she was barely able to see what laid beyond her.

The stairway had led to a tunnel where the only light was from the lighter the man held in his hand as he walked. As they delved further into the tunnel, her ears began picking up a commotion which sounded like chants, growing louder with each step that she took. Once they had reached towards the end of the tunnel, she came face to face with a group of individuals who stood around a ball of light, covered in black robes. They chanted together in sync as if they had rehearsed it for ages. It was truly a daunting sight to look at as she seemed to be surrounded in individuals clad in dark cloaks, singing hymns to god knows who. Their intention however was still unknown to her.

Once the scene ended, the ball of light in the center raised to the top, illuminating the dark room so the light could shine on her face. The man who was with her bowed his head before walking up of the center of the group and whispering something to the cloaked figure. It was then that heads turned to look at the female who barely managed to retain the pained expression she had enacted. They walked towards her as a group, looking as daunting as ever, only to halt about five meters away from her. From there, only the cloaked figure who received the whispering words stepped forward. However, much to her dismay, things didn't go exactly as planned as he began speaking. "I wasn't aware that the Enchantress of Daeva Eye had a husband." It seemed as if he had known her.

Assuming there was no point in continuing the act, she dropped the frightened expression as a smile laced her lips. It looks like she had been caught but much to her surprise, they didn't express hostility. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

She didn't take long in asking in wonderment about what truly happened here to which the cloaked man laughed. He claimed that here, they did what the church failed to do. In other words, they treated those whom the pastor couldn't. She could only assume that what they did was force gullible people who desperately needed saving to do their deeds for them. From the rumors she had heard, there were a series of robberies taking place around the city where the robbers went about screaming the name of demons and frighting everybody. It didn't take much to put two and two together as she sighed.

They were taking heavy fees from these people under the pretext of using forbidden magic to heal their sick ones. While she wasn't one to complain, she did disagree with the expensive nature of their work and how it had only led to an increase in crime. There had to be a way to get them to stop diplomatically. She had to offer them something that they didn't already have.

It was then that the idea struck her. One of the first things he had mentioned was how they were doing something that the church could not do which expressed a disdain towards it. It appeared that someone with the same abilities as the pastor resided here and what he wanted was to go against the church. She smiled as she crossed her arms. "So you want to do something that not even the church can do? Heal people the church has given up on using the name of demons?" He stood stagnant as if waiting for her to continue. "What if I told you there was an easier way to do that?" Looking at him, she smiled as she began her negotiations, hoping they would go in her favour. She began talking to him, expressing how the guild had wanted to take over and how she could help him.

The answer to the issue was relatively easy. She suggested he challenge the pastor in public with his skills. What they wanted was money and power and their way of earning it was to showcase their ability to heal. After all, in the world of magic where they lived among many demons, it wasn't entirely socially unacceptable to do so. While she suggested that they challenge the direct authority of the church, the man before her fell in deep thought. She suggested they could make the price of their service public and how the people get the money would no longer be their fault as it would eliminate the rumors of them enticing individuals to steal. He seemed to be considering her offer positively as she realized that if this were to happen, it would at least prove to be beneficial for citizens. Just as long as their methods aren't found out. He introduced some of his excelling healers who joined the cult because they had once been rejected by the church. Alas, her suggestion was merely a bluff which she knew would never be successful.

In the end, he seemed to have taken her offer positively but he wasn't sure if he would act on it yet. She expressed that she wanted what was best for the people, for their health, and she would do so no matter what. What the church had was the faith of the people while the cult had excellent healers. Truthfully, she didn't care which side won in this war of wits as long as her guild would not be at an advantage. Although he didn't give her an answer as to whether he would follow her suggestion or not, he seemed pleased that a guild which was no smitten by the church was taking over. As per his promise, he would lie low with his cult as they would reform their ways of handling things.

EXIT

While his choice of words made her concerned, she realized that at least temporarily, the problem would halt. She left soon after and within a day, the shop had disappeared. The next few days passed by in peace before she visited the cathedral again to meet with the pastor. He seemed pleased that the activities of the cult had died down and people who had stolen the money had come forth to the church and asked for his forgiveness. He was pleased and yet, he remained confused as he questioned her methods.

For a brief moment she wondered about whether she should tell him or not and in the end, decided to do so. She told him about her suggestion and about the unsurity of his actions, which left the pastor stumped. To his reaction, she simply shrugged, expressing how she wanted the guild to be loyal to the people rather than the church. Her suggestion would only benefit the people as they would have a wider range of medical services to choose from. Moreover, it would take the burden off the shoulders of the pastor. She let out chuckle however, ensuring him that there is no way they would listen to her because it would mean exposing themselves. Their power lies in the fact that their identity is hidden and they would not do anything to jeopardize that. They just seemed to want to ensure that Daeva Eye wasn't a slave to the church and her actions and words had done exactly that.

She could say with confidence that they would go into hiding now, taking their actions elsewhere. Above all, if they did return, it would no longer be her alone who they would be dealing with. In fact, it would be a guild full of fierce women. The pastor nodded along, agreeing with her with a smile. This turned out to be a successful mission.
