The play opened up as normal, with Romeo of House Montague and Juliet of House Capulet and as the play started to go everything was going very normally to the average play until it gets to the part of the play where Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel. Instead of Romeo, Ragnar, turning down the duel, he accepts happily. This turns into a full-on brawl inside the as a fight continues. During this fight Tybalt throws sand into Romeo’s eyes before turning and killing his friend Mercutio. As Romeo got the sand out of his eyes, in a blind rage and cuts Tybalt’s head off before having it sent back to the Capulet Household in a box.
This clearly means war for the Montague, Capulet and Verona houses due to Tybalt’s cowardness to stab another man in the back during an honor duel. This was very bad for house Capulet as they were now about to be attacked from two sides. During this time Juliet, hearing about how the Montague and Verona family are coming to destroy and take over the Capulet family. Thinking ahead, she went to Friar Laurence to get a potion that will make it look like she faked her own death to avoid getting killed or violated during the raid.
As the messenger to give Ragnar the message that his connection to House Capulet was not died, the messenger died in a skirmish from the starting of the battle between the three houses. Ragnar then heard about this from his servants that apparently Juliet had taken poison to avoid being captured by House Verona. Ragnar enraged by this news abandoned all battle plans and went into the house of Capulet by himself.
The battle that followed was bloody and very vicious, more so then the crowd was used to with a stage play like this. Ragnar battled his way to the place where the Patriarch of the Capulets was located, where he fought him in single combat before eventually cutting off his head and holding it up in triumph. Sadly, Romeo missed an Archer who put an arrow in his back, coming out of his throat, and he died in the middle of the courtyard of the Capulet manor.
Juliet, once she had been awakened by Friar Laurence, was taken to the new Capulet tower, located where her old room had been. She was then informed about the death of Romeo, at which point after the Friar left, she threw herself from the tower window and died.
After the play was over, all the cast and crew came out to a standing ovation. Apparently, the people liked the new bloodier Romeo and Juliet and it felt grittier to them. Once that was done and the play was over Alice would tell Ragnar that she had to test him and that he was indeed reliable as she thought he was. Ragnar then went home, very happy to simply get paid and to never have to do that ever again if possible.
