Ko Lesalt

Ko had to hand it to whoever was in charge of naming things in the Sieghart mountains: between Rush Valley and Dawncliff Mountains, they were two for two in the "Naming-things-accurately" category. Out of all the places Ko had visited since arriving in the North of Fiore, Rush Valley was practically bustling with activity. It didn't truly compare to the larger cities in central Fiore, not in terms of size, but for all its small dimensions it packed in a lot of activity. It was almost busy enough for Ko and Nantosuelta to go unnoticed in the crowd.

Alas, Ko's activities in the region had been too prominent for that. Even if Ko himself wasn't recognizable on sight, the enormous Flamewyrm walking calmly beside him gave his identity away immediately. As such, the crowds had begun giving him a rather wide berth as he and his partner walked the streets. It put Ko slightly on edge, being surrounded by so many people that were clearly at least somewhat aware of his identity, but there was no getting around it. Ko wasn't in Rush Valley just to play around or go shopping after all.

While he and Steel had originally come to Sieghart for their own independent purposes, they were united in a common goal now: preparing to steal a one of a kind book from a library. Before they could make their move on Crocus, however, they needed help. During his wanderings about Sieghart, Ko had been hearing rumors of another Dragon Slayer in the area aside from himself, Steel, or that beast of a man Ragnar. Specifically, a Light Dragon Slayer. Considering his own elemental affinity, Ko was keenly interested in finding this young man or woman and testing their mettle. 4 sets of hands would be better than just 2 or 3, after all.

Still, finding one man in the hustle and bustle of Rush Valley was nearly impossible, and that was even assuming he was even in the city. Thus far Ko hadn't found a single lead, and he was starting to get frustrated. "What do you think, Nan? Should we give it up? We don't even have a name yet, it seems unlikely we'll get anything useful out of these simpering peasants." Nantosuelta huffed loudly, letting out a puff of smoke that startled a couple walking by. "I could have told you that. These humans wouldn't remember the face of their own murderer, let alone a passing Dragon Slayer." Ko sighed out loud. Maybe it really was time to call it quits.

Mimir
How many days had it been since he had left the Worth Woodsea? Two? No, Three? Mimir found himself looking at his hands and counting fingers as he wandered through a crowd of various people. Finally he had made it to the most northern part of Fiore from his journey down south. A region where the Sieghart Mountains watched over the earth. In this mountain region was a valley that was expanding everyday, or so what he was told by a local. From what he recalled it was named Rush Valley because of how busy it was.

As he walked through town, his nose twitched a little, catching a scent that reminded him of a lizard. He didn't know why, but over the last few weeks his smell, hearing, and sight had grown far better than what he was able to do in the past. Allowing him to sense things that was further than normal. From the smell Mimir couldn't tell that it wasn't a regular sized lizard. Hell, even he would be surprised if he could smell a tiny lizard in the crowd of people. However, something about the smell annoyed him. No, it wasn't annoyance... Was it anger?

His right hand would come to rest under his chin, while his free hand gripped the handle of his sword in its sheath around his waist. The smell reminded him of something, but it was like the memory was trapped deep in his mind waiting to be unleashed from the depths. Mimir couldn't pinpoint the location of the smell, but he did have a feeling of where it was located. Ten meters to his left he could hear people whispering causing commotion. He listened to his instincts and went towards his left.

Mimir could feel the crowd of people grow thinner as he walked. It was as if he was entering a parted sea. Before long he would arrive towards the center of the thinned crowd and what he saw caused him to release a flash of killing intent. His hand gripped the sword's handle even tighter causing his palm to turn white. If his eyes weren't playing tricks on him, then what he was looking at was a full blown dragon. "What the hell. I thought those things were myths." said Mimir a little too loud as he stared at the ruby colored beast.

Back in his homeland stories of dragons were constantly told, but even he thought that they were legends passed down by his ancestors. Though, right in front of him one was walking next to a dark haired fellow. Mimir would sniff the air again, his nose directed towards the man. His scent was oddly familiar and reminded him of himself.

Ko Lesalt

Although Ko was still rather young, he had spent an excessive amount of time on battlefields.  That fact was apparent both in the scars on his face and body, in his skill as a warrior, and even in the way he moved.  Thus, when Mimir stumbled quite suddenly onto the presence of Nantosuelta and took hold of his sword, Ko immediately noticed.  The sensation of killing intent rolling over him was like a comforting breeze, warming his chilly body.

As Ko was turning to see who was threatening him, he heard someone speak out loudly, as if too surprised to resist.  "What the hell. I thought those things were myths."  The voice gave Ko all he needed to pick the other man out of the crowd, though they'd backed up even further now that the other boy had grabbed his sword.  An actual breeze flowed through the area, and as it hit Ko in the face he caught the young man's scent, and a wild grin broke out over his face.  "Well I'll be damned.  Here I was thinking I'd never find you in a city like this, and you just waltz right up to me in broad daylight!  What is it they say about Fortune's Favor?"

"That it favors the bold, you cretin.  Please read a book, just once."  Nantosuelta interjected right then, clearly not even slightly concerned about the young man blatantly threatening her with a weapon.  Clearly well accustomed to the wyrm's insulting comments, Ko just continued regarding the young man without even reacting.  "You're the one, aren't you?  The Dragon Slayer?  You certainly smell right, but I don't know very many others like me so I can't be sure."

It was interesting, how many of them were cropping up so suddenly.  Dragons had been gone from Fiore for centuries, and now all of sudden not only are they returning, but Dragon Slayers are cropping up everywhere.  Though, judging from this young man's comment, he was a little out of the loop.  "Also I'd try and keep this nonviolent if I was you.  I wouldn't mind going a few rounds, but I'm not the type to hold back; especially against an opponent who has an edge."  Ko held up a hand a let a bit of his Dragon Slayer magic leak out, wisps of blackness curling into the air before dissipating.

Mimir
Mimir's grip on his sword loosened as the raven haired man spoke. His voice didn't give the feeling of hostility, but one of excitement. The Icebergian only stared at the man with a puzzled look. Wondering why someone he had just met seemed like they had been searching for him for a long time. Something in him made him want to feel threatened by the comment, but he could tell that the man hadn't been searching for him for any unpleasant reasons.

A look of surprise appeared on Mimir's face once he heard the reptile speak, but he grew even more surprised when the man called him a Dragon Slayer. "What the hell is a Dragon Slayer?" thought Mimir. He felt like he had heard the term before, but he wasn't so sure. And from what he recalled he hadn't slayed any dragons so far... Mimir's red eyes would travel from the reptile next to the man and back to the man himself. He had met a lot of weird people during his time in Fiore, but this encounter was probably at the top of the list.

"I swear to you that this country is the weirdest of the all. I'm sorry Mr. Dragon Slayer, but I don't even know what the hell that is and I'm a hundred percent sure I'm not one of them." said Mimir as he replied to the man. His body was telling him to walk away, but his minding was saying otherwise. There had to be a reason the man was searching for HIM out of all people. Seconds would pass before Mimir would recall that the man said that he smelled right. With a quick sniff of the air, Mimir would notice that the aroma rolling off the man smelled somewhat like his own, but there was something different about it that he just couldn't put his finger on.

Ko Lesalt

Once the red-eyed man loosened his grip on his sword, the tension in Ko's shoulders relaxed as well.  He didn't exactly have a weapon to release, seeing as the gauntlet was affixed to his arm, but he let it hang down at his side all the same.  It was clear just from the expression on the blonde's face that he was confused by this entire interaction; Ko had to take a step back and admit that such a reaction was fair.  Though, as the other man spoke, Ko was starting to learn just a little about what he was dealing with.  Clearly he was a foreigner at the very least.  That was good.  Ko could work with that.

Before Ko could dive in to relieving some of the blonde man's curiosity, however, Ko realized an error on his part and immediately spoke again, his tone a little sheepish.  "Ah, right, sorry, completely skipped a step there didn't I?  I'm Ko Lesalt.  This here is my lovely companion Nantosuelta."  Ko gave the Flamewyrm an affectionate pat, which she answered with a puff of smoke in his face, turning away as if disinterested in the conversation.  Utterly unfazed, Ko continued.  "I apologize for the abrupt introduction, I'm just a little excited.  I've only met one other person with magic like ours and he's...well he's grumpy."  The crowd that had built up around Ko and the other man was starting to dissipate a little now that it seemed a fight wasn't going to suddenly break out, but the sheer number of people packing the streets made it impossible for the crowd to disappear entirely.

"As for the whole '100% sure you're not one' thing, don't mistake the title for something based off your deeds.  A Dragon Slayer like me is defined by his magic, not the act of slaying a Dragon.  Although, that'll change soon enough if I get my way."
Ko's wild grin returned at the prospect of fighting a Dragon in the near future.  It was bound to happen, one way or another.  "But enough about the Dragon Slayer thing.  Whether you are or not we can figure out later.  Honestly its barely even important.  Instead, let's talk about that other thing you said."  It had been a long time since Ko had been a part of anything bigger than himself.  Now that he was acting in the interest of a greater organization, he had to stay focused on the end goal rather than his personal pursuits.  In this case, while the prospect of this man being a Dragon Slayer was exciting, it was secondary to the fact he was both a mage and unaffiliated with any other guilds.  "You said this country is the weirdest of them all, so I'm gonna assume you're a foreigner like me.  Tell me, honestly, what's your opinion of Fiore?"

It seemed that Ko's question had the man stumped, and he couldn't blame him for that. This confrontation had come rather suddenly, and Ko was throwing out a lot of unusual ideas. Unfortunately, Ko didn't have time to wait for the man to answer. His reputation had grown a lot in the passed few days, and beyond the crowd Ko could hear what sounded like the approach of armored soldiers. Someone must have tipped the local law off about his presence, and while he could handle them easily he didn't want to make a spectacle in front of a potential recruit without knowing their disposition.

"I get it, you need some time to think. We'll have to pick this up again some other time, blondy." Ko turned to Nantosuelta and climbed up on her back, flashing the other man a smirk. "Think long and hard, buddy. Next time we meet, I'm gonna have some harder questions for you." And with that, Nantosuelta beat her wings, lifting them both up into the sky just as the guards arrived.
