It was a mid afternoon where Shichiro found himself in his lodgings somewhere in Orchid City. he had to admit it wasn't as comfortable as Oak's own room and board but at least it was something. Shichiro wasn't up for doing a quest today, more like he wanted to just hang out today and relax. The person that came to mind first of course, was his dear old cousin, Keita. He'd like to catch up more with him about the dumb crap they used to do as kids and what not. He'd also like to use this opportunity in order to see the sights around Orchid City. Heading out from where he was currently staying, Shichiro decided to invite his cousin on an outing to go and see what kind of trouble they could get into around here, not literally anyway.

They were still Rune Knights and he didn't exactly want anything to damage the reputation he 'worked so hard' to build up. Heading to where Keita was currently staying, he wondered where and what he should do in order to have some fun around these parts. Well, he figured part of the fun would be to discover new activities to do and what not aside from always going to the local tavern and getting a drink. He didn't mind the drinking part; it was more like he didn't really fancy the crowds of people there at a certain time of night. Hard to hear him think and have a conversation with his cousin at the same time. making it to his destination, Shichiro would knock on the door to Keita's lodging and ask, "Hey Keita, are you there?"

Keita had woken up earlier and was currently out jogging. He was trying to keep in shape the best he could, as his body was not the best, and he had been practicing and training for a long while just to get the cardio that he needed to actually be a rune knight. He knew some martial arts, but he had almost no experience in using it in actual combat, so for now he was just training his cardio and core so that he could withstand how harsh it is to run around and help people. He learned that he was in desparate need of cardio when he was attacked by the rats in the large building they were in last week, and so now he was just training. Soon after he had gotten back to his house, he was staying in what was essentially a bed and breakfast while he was here in Orchidia, he had not even had breakfast yet when he heard a knock on the door.

He walked over to his door fairly quickly, as he was polite to a fault, not wanting to let people wait too long when he was needed, and opened the door, only to hear his cousin start asking if he was there. Keita opened the door, and started speaking with his cousin. “Heya Shichiro, what’s up? Want to come in for a bit?” Keita would offer to his cousin, as he had made sure the amenities were taken care of, and could at least offer him food and tea.

Much to his surprise, his cousin Keita was in fact in and invited him into his room. "Hey Keita, what's up? Sure, I could come in and hang out for a bit," Shichiro said, stepping into his cousin's room. It was a normal bed and breakfast room and it seemed as if Keita had not eaten yet. It means he had arrived just in time though he had a better idea for this kind of thing. Walking across the room, Shichiro took a seat on Keita's bed before laying backwards on it, with his legs and feet still touching the ground. "Hey Keita, have you eaten yet? if you haven't, we should go out and find some places to eat around the city, what do ya say? it'll give us a chance to explore the area a bit and maybe even figure out where we could hang out frequently for some fun activities," Shichiro had said.

He was all for exploration and information gathering of new areas if he was to make himself comfortable in a new region. He already didn't have a good opinion of this city though he had been in the region before back when he was a werewolf. Though he just stuck by some mountains with another werewolf pack that made a small civilization away from others in the Sieghart Mountains. Still, Shichiro awaited his cousin's answer for a nice little outing. Would be nice to also find someplace he could hang out where they're not too many people hanging around.

Keita watched as his cousin simply walked in and sat on his bed, seemingly claiming everything as his own, and Keita sort of just shook his head at this. “No no, make yourself at home I guess, haha” Keita chuckled a bit, before Shichiro revealed that he wanted to go out and get something to eat, which would give them more chances to explore and find fun things to do here. Keita was still pretty new to the area, he had just been running around the block for his daily exercises, so he was unsure about what good places there were around here for food and entertainment, so he agreed pretty readily. He had not yet eaten anyways, so it would be good to go out to find a spot to get a bite, even though he had already thought of eating here. “Sure, I just got back from a morning jog, so I haven’t eaten yet. Do you know of any places around here to go and get something decent?” He would ask his cousin, before heading towards the door.

He knew he had to head towards the door, because his cousin, at least in the casual times where they had hung out before, would always be a bit lazy when it came to actually starting the recreational things, and would prefer to just sit and chill on the couch for as long as possible. Keita had to make his way towards the door with the intent to leave, to try and coax his lazy cousin into actually leaving promptly.

Sitting up from his lying position, Shichiro had yawned a bit since it was quite early for him despite it being the afternoon. He had heard his cousin's snide comment although he just sneered at it and moved on hoping he would answer his question on whether or not he was up for going around town to find places of interest. Shortly after the remark, Keita indeed did say he was interested in walking around to find places of interest. He knew he wouldn't say no as Keita was always the type of guy to say yes, as long as it wasn't too out of the way for him. The thing is, he didn't have anything in mind at the moment and was just going to walk around food stalls in order to try a little bit of everything and find a place to hang out when the day's work is done.

Shichiro would then jump up off the bed and follow his cousin out of the room. With the both of them leaving the room, Shichiro decided to take the lead and walk through the streets of Orchid. He wanted to sample all kinds of food and see what he'd be able to mix and match later down the road. A little bit later down the road, Shichiro had spotted something he wanted to give a try. It was a kind of hotdog stand that seemed to be a bit heavy on the toppings and had quite a bit of variety to his liking.

Keita was surprised at how easily his cousin seemed to be ready to leave the bed, as he was usually a bit of a procrastinator. He must be really bored today, Keita thought, before heading out the door, remembering to lock it. He did not have anything valuable in the house, but it was not his house, so he made sure that it was secure when he was not there, as he would feel terrible if something bad happened to it while he was responsible. Seeing that his cousin wanted to take the lead to walk around, Keita followed suit, and started heading out. As they walked around, there was not anything in particular that caught his eye, and Keita did not really want to just snack at a couple of places here and there, he wanted something a bit substantial, even if that did not mean sitting down at a fancy restaurant.

As they were walking, they had finally gotten to a place that had quite a few food stands set up, and it seemed that his cousin was eying some sort of hot dog stand. The stand had quite a few toppings, and Keita had just seen a couple walk away with their hot dogs, and the guy’s was completely covered in topping to the point that Keita could no longer see the actual meat on the dog anymore, and this was a bit strange. The toppings better be good and not just there to mask a crappy hot dog, and so Keita followed Shichiro to the stand and prepared to order.

Watching the couple walk away with their food, Shichiro hurried along to the stand in order to order his own food. Placing his right hand onto his chin, he began to scour the menu for something he might like. He didn't want anything too big as the plan was to just sample as much as he could before being full in order to scope out the places he might want to eat from or hang around in the future. He decided he would order something called a mini-dog. Mini-dogs were these bite sized hotdogs where you could get six of them for a cheap price. Shichiro decided to go with that and try one of as many toppings as he could get. The stall owner told him he had them ready in a few minutes or so to which Shichiro just nodded towards, folding his arms while he waited.

He attempted to make small talk with Keita but at the moment nothing comes to mind as they were pretty much inseparable since they had found each other in Bosco. Seeing as they've been together all this time, there wasn't much to talk about unless they want to talk about their recent work in which they've done for the king and the church. Even that wasn't very fun to talk about as nothing exciting took place either way. Maybe Shichiro should take a break from all this work from time to time and just learn to have fun so he'd have things to do and talk about other than just going to one spot all the time.

As it was their turn in the line, Keita wondered what he was going to get, and saw the different menu items, it seemed there were a lot of toppings, and there were specialty dogs for everything, and a lot of them had names that were based off of different cities and their tastes. In the end, Keita decided to go with a Fiore dog, which came with a steamed poppy seed bun and an all-beef hot dog. Then it was topped with yellow mustard, bright green relish, fresh chopped onions, juicy red tomato wedges, a kosher-style pickle spear, a couple of spicy sport peppers and finally, a dash of celery salt. This sounded right up Keita’s alley, as he liked the bit of spice, and it seemed that there were quite a few different toppings on it that would provide a variety of flavor.

Keita had seen his cousin Shichiro order the mini dogs, which were essentially small battered and fried corn dogs with some stuff on them, which seemed good, but Keita felt it would be too greasy for him if he ordered it. Still, he wouldn’t hate on Shichiro for his choice, but wondered why he ordered something that was essentially a snack. “Are you not that hungry Shichiro? Or are you just going to wander around snacking?” Keita asked, wondering if he should have ordered something lighter. The entire food court was essentially here, so there were plenty of things to try out while they were here.

As he waited for his bite sized snacks to be finished, he was asked a question of why he only ordered tiny portions of what was essentially a snack inside of just trying otu a full dog. Shichiro smirked before responding. "Oh well, that's easy. I want to try out many different foods in many different stalls in order to gauge what I like best. I also want to try out many different flavors and I figured if I just order a bunch of tiny different dogs with different toppings. I might be able to figure out which one I like best without filling up, its GENIUS if I do say so myself," Shichiro said, simply nodding his head as he folded his arms “Keita, sometimes my genius, it's almost frightening," he said a bit triumphantly.

Afterwards, Shichiro had looked at all of the mini dogs that were each topped with different things. One with cheese, another with chili, one with diced, caramelized onions, another with relish, one with salsa and one with barbecue sauce, and lastly bacon. He figured a few of these would be a great combo with each other as he was allowed to mix and match a lot of them but he figured he'd keep it simple for now just to know what he was getting into. He took the one with the caramelized onions and dropped it into his mouth, chewing it. He loved the sweetness of the onions as it melded with the meat. He'd then take the tray he had them on and pushed it over towards his cousin to see if he wanted to try one.

Keita watched as Shichiro tried to go into a long tirade about why he was choosing the miniature corn dogs, and that with each of them having a different topping on them, he could figure out what he likes and what he dislikes, and that the plan was genius. Keita still looked at him like he was looking at an idiot, but he decided that he did not want to get into it with his cousin, and so just let him continue what he was doing. Soon, the food was out, with Shichiro getting his little miniature corn dogs with different toppings on them, the only ones that Keita would probably like were the caramelized onions and the cheese sauce on something like that, but that was just him. The other toppings, while good, were something that he did not like on fried foods.

Plus, Keita thought about it, and he liked testing things together, so that he could see how different flavors blended to become a unique experience, which is why he went for a hot dog that had quite a few things on it, and it seemed to be popular for a reason. Soon, his hot dog was also out, and he took a large bite out of it, making sure to carefully select a bite that would give him a little bit of everything. After he had finally finished his bite, he enjoyed the tang and the other flavors, and simply turned to his cousin. “Well, I was really hungry, so a lot of toppings on a substantial item is better right now.”

It didn't seem like his cousin was interested in what was on his tray currently so he just shrugged and went back to popping the miniature dogs into his mouth one by one. Between each dog, he had drank and rinsed his mouth with some water in order to rinse his palette in an attempt not to mix the flavors in his mouth. After a few chomps, Shichiro was done with his food and just as he predicted, didn't fill him up. That was his goal after as he wanted to sample the foods this place had to offer and go to another place that would also sell him food that he may crave. He noticed his cousin ordered a standard hot dog which made him smirk.

He figured he'd get too full too fast and wouldn't be able to try out the food in other destinations if he didn't slow down. But he trusted that his cousin knew better and so he didn't say anything and just let him enjoy his meal. The only thing that felt odd to him was that they were eating hot dogs for breakfast instead of what people considered normal breakfast meals. At least, what he considered a normal breakfast meal. Back from where he was from, fish was pretty common as breakfast but when he moved to Fiore, he had gotten used to eating eggs and meat for breakfast. It was strange but overall delicious. Shichiro would wait for his cousin to finish eating his meal before they moved onto another stall or restaurant.

Keita was in the middle of eating his hot dog, when he noticed that his cousin was done. The good thing about the hot dogs were that they were very portable, so he thanked the man and started walking somewhere, he was unsure where, but decided that he would simply go in a clockwise motion to see what the food court style plaza they were in had to offer. He saw quite a few shops, but the next one on the list, and one that intrigued him a bit, was some sort of snack shop. They were selling popcorn and other fried things, such as potato and corn chips, but what had brought Keita’s attention over to this spot was they had something called prawn crackers. Now, Keita knew what prawns were, but he had never tried the prawn crackers, and it seemed that there were quite a bit of flavors there for him to choose from. He wanted something to go with his hot dog, and luckily the stand also sold some simple drinks, and so he got in the line.

“Well Shichiro, I want something to go with my food that I’m half done with, so I’ll be stopping here for a bit. Is there anything you want?” Keita would ask his cousin, as the line was moving pretty fast. This stand had a lot of extra stuff already prepared, because the fried foods didn’t need to be made fresh for the most part. Keita wondered if this was something Shichiro would be interested in, or if he wanted to try more actual food than snacks.

Shichiro began to look around the food stall area where there were plenty of stalls all laying about. With a plethora of choices, Shichiro honestly found himself stumped on what to get next. Before he could decide, it seems as if his cousin decided he'd want something to drink with his food. Well, with what he ordered, he wasn't surprised he needed to get a drink with it. After that thought crossed his mind, he began to hear his stomach gurgle and figured he'd get something to eat himself. He assumed he'd be stationed in this town for a long time to come anyway and so he didn't have to force himself to eat smaller portions of food. He could take his time and try a different place each day. One by one.

His cousin then asked him if he wanted anything from a stand that had caught his interest called prawn crackers. He decided he'd stand back in line at the hotdog stand and order the same thing Keita had ordered a little while ago. "Yeah, pick me up some snacks. I think I'm going to just order the same thing you got and scrape the whole "try a little bit of everything deal". I mean, we'll be here for awhile anyway so I might as well take my time with it and try and get something big now like you did. So I'm going to go back to the hotdog stand real fast and get me the same thing you did since admittedly, it looks pretty tasty," Shichiro said.

Keita was sitting in the line while talking to his cousin, and his cousin suddenly said that he wanted to get the same hot dog that he had gotten, which Keita nodded to. “It’s a pretty good choice, the hot dog is pretty great.” He would say, with about half of the hot dog still in his hand, but he kept taking pretty small bites as he was still in line. He got to the front, and had heard from his cousin that he had wanted to get some snacks as well, so Keita nodded at that. It would be pretty easy to grab some extra little bags of the chips and such. Keita was unsure if his cousin wanted a drink, but he would probably get him a basic cola anyways, just in case. He was not going to scream out to him across the little food court plaza, as he was already going towards the hot dog stand, and so he would just grab him something.

The line was moving pretty fast, and soon it was his turn to ask for some snacks, and so he was finally able to see the menu. He looked through the snacks as the person behind the counter asked him what they could get him. He did not want just any old normal flavors, so he saw some sort of berry potato chip, which seemed strange, so he got a bag, willing to share some with Shichiro if he wanted. He got Shichiro some normal cheese chips in the meantime.

Now that Shichiro was in his own line, he had no choice but to wait in line for his own food and drink. His cousin Keita said he'd grab the snacks so he trusted him to do so whenever he had the time to do so. He didn't know how long he'd be in line himself so he figured now was the time to do his favorite hobby, daydreaming. Staring blankly in front of him, leaving his body on autopilot, Shichiro began to daydream about a fantasy of his. He was a shinobi in a distant realm and not just any shinobi, a powerful one that ruled a nation on a massive island. Life was great but war loomed over him and his village's head. hje was to prepare for war from the evils that would come for his village or die trying. As he daydreamed, he realized it was almost his turn to order.

A few moments had passed and it was finally his time. Now that he got here, he had ordered the exact same dish his cousin got previously and stepped out of the line to wait for it while others placed their orders. Turns out this place also had drinks though it didn't have much variety like other stands did. That was fine with him as plain lemonade was enough to quench his thirst after he had his meal, whenever it would be ready. Looking around he'd see if his cousin had already ordered his drink and the snacks that he requested.

Keita had finished ordering his things, and they were given to him quickly, as they were already in pre-measured bags and cups, so there was almost no wait time. Keita looked around and saw that his cousin was still in line, and had finally ordered, before stepping off to the side. Keita started walking over there with the snacks, and he had just finished his hot dog, so he wanted to munch on something else and wash it down with his cola that he got himself, so this was perfect. As he was walking over to his cousin, he was wondering what else they were going to do that day, if anything. He thought it was fun just hanging out, but they had been together for a bit, making the stories they could tel each other limited. Shichiro had already been telling him old stories from back when he was a page and so forth, and he had already told the most interesting of his stories.

Keita wondered if there was anything else to do in this town other than take a look at this plaza, no matter how beautiful it was, it still wasn’t something that Keita would call fun. There were benches for chess, but again, he couldn’t see himself playing chess with his cousin, considering how boring the game was and how it didn’t really connect with being in the Rune Knights. Maybe some of the eccentric old commanders of the knights would play chess, but that simply didn’t seem fun. Keita finally got to his cousin and handed him a bag of cheese flavored chips.

After he had stepped out of line to let others order, it only took a few moments before his order was ready. It was a good thing too since his cousin was returning with the snacks he promised he'd bring as well as the drink for himself. Getting his food and his snacks, Shichiro couldn't decide what he should eat first. Should he have eaten the snacks first or should he eat his meal first. In the end, a snack was a snack he figured he'd just eat his food first since he was hungry now. He didn't want to fill up on snacks and leave half, eating cold hotdogs as leftovers. Beginning to chow down on his food, Shichiro continued to ponder on what they should do next.

Admittedly, exploration was only fun when its unexpected like when he goes out on missions. Within the confines of a town or city, it wasn't the same thing for him. Eventually, he would have discovered it by accident or it would be a tip/reward from a client he had made extremely happy giving him a hunch of where all the good places are but searching for it like this was kind of a pain in the ass. After chewing his food a bit, he paused briefly. before turning to his cousin. "This is really good. I should have gotten this sooner instead. A side note, this isn't exactly as fun as I thought it would be. Its true discovering new things is fun but I think I like it better when its unexpected, ya know?"

Slowly snacking on his food, he saw that his cousin Shichiro seemed to be ravenously hungry, as he was scarfing down the hot dog that he got at a marvelous pace, and Keita wondered how hungry he is, and if the small corn dog things he had last time just made him angry by how there was no sustenance at all on them. The reason that Keita was slowly snacking on his fruit flavored potato chips, was because they were not very good. They were definitely an acquired taste from the locals, and he was not was of them, as his taste buds disagreed with the sweet chip that his brain and tongue wanted to be savory. Still, there was nothing particularly wrong with them, they were just mildly unpleasant, and Keita was not one to waste food, especially not food that he had paid for, so he suffered through it.

Back to the topic at hand, his cousin started saying that roaming around the plaza in search of fun snacks and other foods was not really what one would consider fun, and Keita had to agree. Shichiro said that he liked his fun to be more of a surprise, but Keita thought that they could not judge the fun by what they had done so far. “I sort of agree with you, but I feel like getting a few drinks and going to karaoke would have been pretty fun, but wandering around a food court is not. Oh well, maybe next time we’ll find something better to do.” Keita said while shrugging his shoulders.

Shichiro nodded. Maybe doing an actual activity would have been the better option here after the food instead of attempting to sample everything he could find here in the food court. Well, this was a learning experience for him and he will remember to keep this in mind when going places with his cousin. "yeah, that probably would have been a better idea but what can I say, I like food. Anyway, I don't think I'm up for this anymore. After this, let's just head back and enjoy each other's company or something, I'm feeling pretty lazy right now and this hotdog is honestly making me feel sleepy," Shichiro said as he continued to eat his food.

Quite frankly, he was done with this little adventure for now and was willing to treat it as just going out for some breakfast. Although, it did feel quite weird to eat hotdogs for breakfast. It was good though. After a few more moments, he had finished his meal before taking a sip of his drink. He looked around the marketplace a bit more but he wasn't feeling up to the task of having fun with some recreational activities so he decided it was best to end their little adventure here. Walking back to Keita's place, he continued to sip his lemonade as they made it back. Once inside Keita's room, he went right back to his bed and sprawled over it comfortably as if it was his own. Yup, nothing like being lazy on a new day. With that, he'd just make small talk with his cousin and play little games with him.

Shichiro seemed like he was about done with this whole thing, as if it had been some sort of mistake, but it was still a calm little outing. It seemed that this was far less gratifying and fun than the two of them pictured in their head, and they would probably try to do something else a little better later. For now though, it seemed that their outing was winding down to its end, and they could go their separate ways or just do something else. Shichiro then confirmed what Keita was thinking, by saying that he thought this was a good idea because he loved food, and that it was not really fun anymore, and that they should just go hang out or something. Keita was all for ending this as a seemingly simple breakfast, and Keita wondered why he thought that having a hot dog and some chips was a good idea after jogging.

His stomach was not in the best place, and he felt the need to go and rest, so he could not agree more with his cousin’s suggestion. “Yeah, let’s go ahead and get out of here, there’s always tomorrow or the next day to try the delicacies around here.” Keita would say, before starting to walk off. He found today entertaining, at least a little, but he was a more refined type of person that could sit there and have tea ceremony, which was all due to the teaching of his mother, while he assumed that Shichiro had a much more active life so far.
