Masami
This is what Masami has been waiting for, and they have been preparing for weeks. Although he owned the theater and is perhaps more experienced than the rest of the actors here, he was willing to play the antagonist role, fighting Tomura Matsukaze, another experienced Joyan actor who had left Joya to pursue a larger span of dreams. Masami's small figure was covered by layers of clothing, a mask that covered his whole face and a gigantic wig that covered what separated his head from his body. Altogether, this costume covered his identity and hid him away, and it took them a few hours to finally set him up. Now, they were ready to fight on-stage, like a real fight the audience expected. Although Tomura has been in Hinoki Theater for a while now, Masami still did not know much about him, meanwhile Masami's reputation allowed everyone else to know about him. He was a swordsman as well, and knowing that he has been in Fiore for a while now, he must be an experienced (wind?) mage, and his attacks will definitely hurt if he wanted the act to be realistic. Masami's fire is risky and may hurt people, surely he wanted to make an effort as well, but it may have been too much if he tried. Before the night performance starts, Masami uttered a message that his mask slightly muffled: "Let's do our best, Tomura-san," the rest would nod back at him, and then it was only Masami who was left behind the curtains, waiting for his turn to speak. It's like Joya again; Masami felt at home as he listened to the performers say their lines and the hayashi-kata (instrumentalists) playing their part through background songs. It's been a while since he'd perform on a Joyan stage again, isn't it?

Masami
Even if Masami waited in the backstage, he watched and managed those who entered and left the scenes, helping them change costumes and remind them of their lines. Until then, it was time for Masami's turn to shine as the evil antagonist of the play – the counterpart and foil of the shite (protagonist). He had entered from the ceiling, then dropping down to the ground. Masami had not much to say prior to the script writing, so he had expressed his words through wild actions instead; he charged at Tomura using four limbs, lounging at him at quick pace. Tomura was there to speak his lines to tell the audience what was going on, and Masami wasn't fond of that act. As an audience, they should be able to tell what was happening simply by watching, then it would define the actors as great—the greatest—the ones who are able to express their actions without speaking. Masami believed that the theater actors were still not good enough, not like the theater houses in Joya. Then he had no choice but to comply, is that correct? Masami had sharp nails attached to the tip of his fingers, and that allowed him to make attempts in striking Tomura, the protagonist, who had went on adventures to hunt down Masami, the antagonist. As the foil, he should strive to ruin the leading role's attempt in becoming a hero, and that's exactly how Masami was being at the moment. One—two nails struck Tomura's cheek, because he was unable to attack Masami with his iron sword. His bleeding was no act; it was as realistic as it was mentioned and the other performers are no longer sure whether this was just an act or if Masami was being serious. Tomura was unable to identify Masami's expressions through the mask that hid his smile.

Masami
Unable to turn dreams into realities, in-character as he was, Masami let himself get stabbed in the chest; he bled on the floor and he was unable to pull himself out. Tomura let out a quiet sigh and everybody remained quiet; the performers behind the curtains who were watching in the shade did not know what would happen next – little did they know that the performance was so great that they had become the audience themselves. The true audience—the ones who relaxed in their seats—waited for a single person to start clapping before everyone would applause, and finally the curtains would close on command. Masami wasn't actually stabbed, of course, which was why Tomura pulled him up behind the curtains and helped him on his feet for the curtain roll. When the curtains raised up again, all of the performers, including the hayashi-kata (instrumentalists), held hands in a single line and bowed altogether. The audience gave them another round of applause as promised, and finally the performance was finished; Masami was finally able to breathe properly when he removed the mask for everyone to recognize who the antagonist one, and they had not expected that it would be Masami, because "he was better and that he should be playing the lead role," just like how foreigners expected. Taking the opposite role is an art—in real life, too. The art of playing the hero, and then the art of playing the victim—the lack of morality to become dedicated in one's work, and Masami was one of them. Not everyone will understand even when the curtains had fallen down once more; the audience standing up from their soft seats to have family dinner, and the performers would raise their cups to congratulate one another for the success of tonight's performance, but they should have done more than simply have a feast until morning, like a treat of relaxation in Sultry Heights? Surely, this was like how it was back then in Joya, but why does Masami have a bad feeling about what will happen next time?
