Dahlia City was hauntingly beautiful, a place like she had never seen before. Rania was in awe with how nightmarish and spooky this town was, and ever since she and Kenzo had arrived she felt like something was wrong here. The Blue Pegasus members had left Shadow Runner behind to nibble some grass, and while the two of them walked through the city the Paladin made sure to stick close to the mercenary. To say that Dahlia was haunted was probably an understatement. “I think vampires are the least of this town’s problem,” she muttered under her breath and tapped Kenzo’s elbow the moment she saw something shuffling around in the dark.

“This entire place is run down, and did you see that guildhall? It looks like a magical palace among ruins.” The Daeva Eye guildhall was impressive, the most impressive building out of all of them, that was for sure. It also didn’t seem to fit into the scenery whatsoever. They hadn’t received much of a clue on what the guild master wanted them to do here, so they decided to start with exploring the city. As they walked along the road, Rania eventually picked up on a very strange sound.

“Wait, do you hear that?” She halted and swung her scepter to cast a bright light over the area, where both of them were now able to see a vampire kneeling over a dead cow, drinking its blood. Disgusted and distraught by the sight, Rania took a step back, but the vampire had already set his eyes on his new target and jumped forward, pouncing the female Paladin.

Well, here they were. The infamous town of Dahlia was a place Kenzo had always an interest in visiting. For one reason or another, he hadn’t been able to take the time to visit. He knew a couple of people that hailed from there after all. Maybe after all the Vampire business with taken care of he could go around town and see if he could bump into someone. Maybe he’d meet a certain rogue once again.

Whatever the case, Dahlia happened to be quite… interesting. To say the least. Ever since they entered the domains of the city, Kenzo couldn’t help but feel a creepy feeling in the air. Maybe it was a combination of the run-down architecture, almost lifeless faces of the inhabitants or the constant eerie fog lingering around, but Dahlia certainly looked like it was brought out of a Halloween Story. ”You can say that again..” Kenzo replied to the black haired mage at his side. Rania had been the first of the two to voice their concerns. ”Looks like something brought out of a different dimension” He added to the Daeva Eye guildhall’s comment. Before he could say anything else though, their conversation would be cut close by another thing that caught their attention.

Shuffling in the floor and scrambling around the dead remnants of a cow’s corpse, a vampire sucked the blood from the animal. The two Blue Pegasus members kept their distance, as to not alert the white-haired male. However, he seemed to have caught a wind of the two of them. Seemingly out of fear, Rania took a step backwards. However, the vampire used this opportunity to lunge at her, hissing in the air as he showed his sharp fangs. Unfortunately for him, his attack would ultimately fail after being intercepted by the mercenary. Slamming his throat with his right arm, Kenzo gripped the vampire by the neck and rose him up as he squirmed and fought for freedom. ”Oi.. What’s the big idea!?”

Kenzo reached between Rania and the vampire before it could do much damage; the poor creature was so exhausted and malnourished that even the Paladin began to pity it upon taking a closer look at the thing. Still, attacking someone out of nowhere, without provocation, was incredibly impolite and so the woman swung her scepter and with a *clonk* smacked it against the already miserable vampire’s head. “Bad!” She scolded and watched as the creature squirmed, and begged for food and for mercy. There wasn’t much she could do for that poor thing–cow blood,  or animal blood overall clearly wasn’t doing it justice and it didn’t seem to be able to control its thirst.

With a sigh, the Paladin looked at her companion and slowly shook her head. “There’s no going back for him, not anymore.” That’s all she needed to say before casting a spell of light on the vampire, which caused its skin to burn away and the person in front of her turn to ashes in Kenzo’s hand. Their weakness to light made them easy targets to Rania’s magic. “That’s it I suppose,” she said with a shrug and once again locked eyes with Kenzo. “I doubt she would want us to spend our days here in Dahlia, killing the endless amounts of vampires. Besides, I think you and I deserve a break. Hosenka isn’t too far from here, can I perhaps interest you in some joyan cuisine and relaxation?” The offer was upfront, but Rania was craving some good food and a soft bed. Besides, she finally wanted to get to know her guild mate better.

As Kenzo held the rampaging vampire in the air, Rania came in for her trademark killer move. The golden scepter created a *clonk* sound as the black-haired paladin scolded him. She was quite a kindhearted girl, so the warrior knew that her scolding was given in earnest. However, the warrior was starting to worry that her compassion would one day get her into trouble. For that reason, it was quite a surprise when she decided to take care of the situation.

Nodding his face, the blue haired male agreed with Rania’s observation. ”I agree. That’s why we-“ *Whooossh* Seemingly out of nowhere, the squirming vampire began disintegrating upon coming into contact with Rania’s light magic. The sight was quite terrifying to say the least. As if coming straight out of a blockbuster multimillion-dollar movie, the cells of the vampire began turning into ash, blowing in the wind. Kenzo could have sworn he heard the vampire mutter some last words, but they made no sense for the Bellan. ”Stark?” the male spoke out loud with a barely audible tone.

No matter that, it would seem that their time in Dahlia was quickly done. To be honest, Kenzo didn’t want to spend a single extra moment in such an eerie place either way. Maybe he’ll come back once he found Nuala so she could give him a tour of the city. ”That sounds like a perfect plan” Kenzo replied at Rania’s proposition with a smile before the two of them left for Hosenka.
