It was like she was going to dance for the ceremony at the shrine tonight as she was offered. Will she get to wear her bamboo over her mouth though? She still felt afraid to take it off since she never has ever since she turned ten. Five years ago it was. Tons of people came here with family, friends or on a date, but hers? Just her bully nii-san that she saw as one. Perhaps their family bond will become stronger after this and find out more about each other. That or she will just swat him with her newspaper. She has heard stories about Jan within Blue Pegasus. Perhaps she will ask him questions about it.

It's Show Time.
Shamefully the one to arrive second to the festival, the young man equipped himself with sufficient Jewels to make the most out of this day. "Hey, Suki!" He called out from rather far, finally reaching the tall streetlight she was told to wait by. Hasting to catch up, bowing per habit upon arrival. "This time you're the first to come, huh. I'd better make this the last one too, heh." He joked -- though whether she had caught onto his attempt or not was another question.
A whole day at the festival with a cute little girl like Suki wasn't too bad of an idea, in concept. Naturally, Jan Ren had preferred it to be a fully-grown, cute girl like Rania. But he wasn't without his own set of values, and inviting the child was arguably more important right now. "Very well. Shall we?" He asked, smiling at her and offering her his open palm to take.
Sat 22 Aug 2020, 01:56
All she knew was it was the thing that brought her mother and father together. What did she see in her father...? Right as she was about to get deep into thought she heard Jan. Her eyes shined as she saw him dress all fancy. "Whoa~ Are you dressed up fancy to impress someone? Are you going to look for a certain lady friend?" She giggled and tilted her head with a smile. She saw him as a brother and most likely forever will. She could never have enough of them. "Let us go then." She turned towards where the crowd was heading and walked with Jan. Her hands slid into the cuffs of each sleeve to hold her hands together in a peaceful looking manner.
"Shall we try a game first or perhaps snacks?" She wondered as her head tilted to look up at him. She was quite short so this was normal.

Yes. While usually dressed in such fancy way purely out of personal aesthetic and possible attention-seeking, today was wholly about Suki. As such, he would make sure to dedicate his focus solely on her.
"Well then, let's see." He pondered, walking by the girl as his eyes scouted here and there, to the various stalls around. How does one entertain a little girl? In his perception, Suki was barely scraping 14 years of age; her mental age displayed, lower. Easily immune to his own desires with this one for company, the same way Masami had struck herself out by simple age. --Regardless, if he were to give her a good time, he'd be using whatever he learned in Blue Pegasus (do NOT take my word on that) to the best of his ability.
"Let's try a game first." He assumed, eyeing Suki again as he led towards a certain shooting stall. "Have you ever tried sharpshooting, Suki?"
Sat 22 Aug 2020, 16:48
Suki did not care at all and saw nothing wrong with it. Alisa and her friend Sofia knew her and they were like her big sisters, but she was not sure yet. She only met Jan recently but felt like she has known him for longer than the reality of it. He soon offered a game of some sharpshooting, which was safe. "Yea! Let's go." She said and giggled while power walking towards the game. Suki couldn't run since she was wearing some sort of bamboo sandals as it was traditional. Her eyes saw the gun and just gazed at it silently. She did not know why, but it reminded her of something and it made her feel empty. Sometimes this muzzle felt uncomfortable while talking, but she knew today was the day she was going to have to take it off.
She had an hour or so left till then.
For now, she wanted to enjoy her time with her big brother and play this game of shooting. Her memory was locked. As she picked up the gun after paying for it, she shot a bullseye. Why? How? She swore she never really picked up a gun before. It shocked her as if it was just a lucky shot, right? After that shot she lowered the gun against her chest and gazed at that one shot...
Sat 22 Aug 2020, 17:25
Turns out, the Sinese' stepped on a landmine. "O-Oh." Voice lowered, eyes widened, eyebrows raised at the surprising bullseye. Hidden talents everywhere. It sure is convenient that we don't have to invest attributes in Accuracy or something else bullshity like that. Momentarily flinched with her presumably lucky strike, the young man picked up a rifle for himself and held it with one hand stretched out, preparing to take aim at a designated target. "You're not the only one with good precision." He claimed, making this competitive all of the sudden; though his shot would tell otherwise, as the wizard's BB-Ball missed its mark completely.
"...Huh?" As expected of someone who's never picked up a gun in his life before. In short, a showoff.
"Ahh ahh, tough luck brother!" The owner condescendingly comforted; "Better try again next time. Lil' miss here takes this round! Unless you wanna try again...?" Practically laughing at the Sinese' expense, smugness very much apparent across the stall owner's face as Jan Ren easily took the bait. Decisively laying down another Jewel bill to take another shot. "You bet."
And sure enough, it was the same. "Why!!?"
Sat 22 Aug 2020, 18:24
He was a really nice guy and since they were all from the same guild then maybe they did know each other. While waiting for him to answer they started to walk away from the shooting game and looked around - after getting her winner ticket of course. The place was pretty and all colorful. She paid no mind to the people around her, but then all of a sudden as she was lost in thought she was pushed onto the ground. Her purse taken by some kids that ran far off into the crowd.
Sat 22 Aug 2020, 18:46
"Tien?" Odd name. Definitely not Fiorian. Most likely, Sinese, even. "Can't say I do." Jan Ren didn't need to ponder on the matter to realize that; with his bias towards his own culture, he'd remember if a person with a Sinese name came alone. Though her own childish behavior spoke to why she'd asked, the young man had chose to refrain from prying too much into it. "Why? Who is Tien?" He asked, offering a friendly smile.
On the way, Suki was dropped to the floor abruptly. "Hey, are you okay?" Bummer. Right before the food stall too. Bending his knees down some after turning to her, he offered his hand to help her up. Perhaps she'd take it this time. In a large and popular festival like this, it was only natural that someone would bump into others unfortunately. As such, he never attributed much of a big deal to that. Though he would make mental note to walk closer, as to prevent another shortcoming like such.
Unfortunately, he'd be entirely oblivious to the missing purse.
Sun 23 Aug 2020, 02:00
Her eyes started to water to the point that one could see droplets of water fall onto the dirt making spots. She had never had it off before. Something within her made her feel rather hot while her heart started to beat rapidly. "N-nii san, he stole my piece... I-I can't get up... I can't speak in front of people while they see my face..." She whispered only loud enough for him to hear it. Her mind started to break as her mental state started to shatter and open.
Sun 23 Aug 2020, 14:24
The surrounding commotion wasn't helping either. Flailing about some, the Sinese hurried to pick the girl up by hand, hugging her to his form as he swooped her off her feet. "--Alright, nothing to see here guys!" He assured, giving a stressed smile as he began to pull his way through the crowd; all the while pushing the girl's head to his chest, effectively hiding her face from the surroundings. "Carry on, please!" He asked, though in a rather urgent fashion akin to a demand. Making haste to run from the area, reaching somewhere less crowded.
If she wanted to hide her face, that much was easy. But, "Suki, calm down." He asked, gentle rubbing her shoulder with his hand as he let her down; easily concerned. Today was about her, and seeing how Jan Ren would usually be... "I'll get you your purse and piece back." ...it's easy to see how chivalry overflowed, forcing him to take charge.
Now if Suki has been biting at this piece for a while (even a month would suffice), that meant her odor had already rubbed off on it completely. Peering closer, Jan Ren assumed a position he never thought he would; sniffing at her lips, the same way a hound would to trace something. The same way Raymus did, way back. So now they're alike. Great. This new heightened sense of smell comes in handy, huh. But the streets were overflowing with people, scents of all kinds all around. Discerning that specific smell from the rest would prove challenging, especially for a newbie like himself.
Mon 24 Aug 2020, 16:58
Slowly, her breathing went steady, 'Everything will be alright...' she heard a feminine voice in her head. It was soothing and womanly, like her mom's. She was a dragon slayer too so maybe she could find her own piece. Her head hid inside his back as she crawled on top of it. "A-away from people..." she spoke quietly while clenching onto his shoulders tightly. Her heart was still beating fast and waited for him to take her away. Get piece was long gone by now as she could feel it in the wind that it was no where near. "I-it's gone..." she whimpers sadly.
Wed 26 Aug 2020, 16:21
But, was soon stopped by the climbing child. "--Eh?" He halted in place, head turned to look as the pink-eyed buried her face into his hair again. Small as she was, he could still feel her heartbeat racing up close like this. She herself had given up... What would he do then? --The answer was, unfortunately, to comply. Shoulders loosened as his expression took to some pity, the Sinese nodded; "...Alright." before beginning to carry to girl off to a more secluded area.
Mind you, he still hadn't given up on retrieving the pieces. And mentally, he'd claimed to himself, to get them back.
"It's okay, Suki." Arrived at a darkened spot not too far from the festive district, Jan Ren loosened his hold of the kid, allowing her to get off. "Nobody around here, it seems. It'll be fine." Though as his comforting tone was voiced out, the Sinese had been planning how to return the missing items. Who to track down, who to turn to, how to chase. Running a bit of a simulation in his head.
"--This should be fine, right?"
Thu 27 Aug 2020, 16:11
"I-I... you've never asked me why I wear the bamboo muzzle. Why?" She wondered at first. She did not want to tell him everything yet, but at the same time, if a bond was to be made, she needed to try to trust someone. "I-I was different than most when I was born. I feel like perhaps I am not human as the other villagers saw me as such." Slowly, her head tilted upward. "I know Dragon Slayers have things such as it, but not as long and sharp as vampires and demons. These do remind them of it." Her head was finally up enough for him to see her large and long fangs. "Back in the day they wanted to cover my eyes too, but I ... need to see. My smile scared people... No one wanted to be my friend. So I now have many friends thanks to that muzzle..." She gave a half-smile. She felt ugly, weird and ultimately strange. But that muzzle wasn't only used to hide her teeth, but also because of other things she has not even learned yet... or remember.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 11:46
Because woah, those are some serious fangs.
"Hmmm." The Sinese momentarily mused, taking in Suki's backstory. "--But you're not your home village anymore, right?" He retorted, giving half-hearted a smile as he pulled at the corner of his lips -- to show the awfully developed fangs in his own mouth. "I don't know a thing about Dragon Slayers, demons or vampires. All I know is that one day I woke up to these fangs in my own mouth." He explained, perhaps attempting to sympathize.
Smile widened, the Sinese stared down to the girl's eyes. "People have different qualities. Some have big eyes, some have big noses..." But not on FTRP because nobody likes playing disfigured people. "...and some have large fangs. I don't believe it matters at all." He claimed, bending down to meet her on eye-level. "In the first place, we're surrounded by the extraordinary. Werewolves out loose and people with more power than Gods... What's a couple of large fangs to that?" He jested. Jan Ren knew full well he wouldn't be able to lift Suki's insecurities, those that have been accumulated over all of her life, apparently.
Regardless, "Don't worry about it." He would make sure to show he at least, accepts her. Moving his hand to pat her head, the Sinese offered a genuine smile; teeth -- and fangs -- on full display. "You take your time until you can stand proudly. Because, with or without the fangs... You're a beautiful girl, Suki."
"Besides. I can promise you not a soul in Blue Pegasus would make fun of you for that." They might, however, make fun of him.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 13:13
Suki felt like her heart was crushing because acceptance was one of her things... She feared of people being scared of her, making fun of her - simply made into The Fool. Her eyes watered as she listened to Jan who was at first lost for words. If she had cat ears, they'd bend out of sorrow as her lips started to frown. As he spoke more and more she tried to smile yet it was wavering while her left eye (From Jan's point of view) was crying more than the right. He was trying to be kind by making some jokes, sympathize with her, and saying the guild will accept her.
Will they though?
Sure this place was a different Country, but he did make a point about the fluffy dog people, humans who liked people on a whole new level, and then 'gods'. The only gods she believed in were the gods of everything. Each god had their own section of life. A word soon really got to her though as she started to turn pink that matched her pink eyes. 'I've been called that many times before, but why when it comes from a guy?' Her eyes gazed away and pout. "I-I suppose. No point in arguing with you." She speaks sweetly in her poutful voice. She wondered what time it was, peeking towards the tower pole of time. Her eyes went back towards Jan. "My dance is soon." Right, she forgot to tell him. With that she tugged onto his sleeve and dragged him with her.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 14:28
"Dance?" Sleeve tugged, seems like the young girl was trotting all over the place today. From a festival to the secluded woodland clearing, and now to a dance. Had she been planning to perform all this while? He hadn't he heard of this? Regardless, he would be excited to watch the child show off her talents and grant his support. "I didn't know you were practicing a dance. You're performing? When and where?" He asked, going along with her once again.
...Before shortly stopping to take a look at the trees nearby. "...How much time do we have before your show?"
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 14:37
After a minute or two of power walking, running and then slowing down she finally stopped and pointed towards the delicate and sacred shrine. A woman stopped by between them. She seemed really old and short. She was about as short as Suki at five feet as someday, the older you get the shorter you get. "Let's go my child. Your outfit is ready." she looked at the young man. "Don't worry. Go sit upfront with the rest to see the show. Suki nodded to him and followed the old lady to the back to finally get ready. While she did, snacks and drinks were passed to the people who were watching this as the day became night - the lights became bright.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 14:43
Now. What could he do to help?
Still under the idea of getting her things back, Jan Ren blended among the crowd, treating himself to some of the snacks handed out. Though between every bite, he used his nose to try and sniff out whether someone held onto her belongings or not. With no stroke of luck apparent, the young man resigned himself to simply watching the show. If Suki wanted to perform, he would honor her request by playing proper audience.
He will get the purse back, at least. If not the bamboo piece. But for now, he would play the nice brother and watch the entire shrine's show.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 17:16
Did it work though?
She never knew, but the spirits never arrived and she felt lonely. It made her really sad and to be honest, she felt maybe she will make everyone her friend. She will make up her own family since hers went crazy, died, or just disappeared. It made her sad. As the curtains opened she saw everyone sitting down, including her brother-like figure. The music started to play as everyone calmly gazed upon her beauty. She slowly tapped the bell with every step while her body was slow like the wind. She was the current of the wind, she was indeed the wind as of right now. Her eyes closed while her black hair strands swayed with it as well. It went on for about ten minutes as all the lanterns lit up and the fireflies appeared.
Fri 28 Aug 2020, 17:30
By the end of the show, the crowd stood to pay their respects, clapping wildly at the young girl's seamless show. Even if she had made a mistake, such was never apparent, and it was enough to warrant the adoration of the crowd. Jan Ren, matching suit, couldn't help but think to himself. "(You really are beautiful, Suki. I can't believe anyone can shun you out after that.)" To each, there are their own talents. The young girl managed to display her's, very well.
He'd make a mental note to get her candy apples later.
Sat 29 Aug 2020, 19:38
She went to him so they could enjoy the festival together once more. Assuming he did what he thought, they went to get some candy apples and hang out together. They truly enjoyed their time and she went to the bench for a moment. Something felt off all of the sudden throughout their time together. Her body felt tired, exhausted or even fatigued as her eyes kept opening and shutting. "N-nii-san... I don't feel too well.". Her mind became cloudy as her breathing became a little fast. Finally, she collapsed and fainted, passing out on the bench next to Jan.

Sun 30 Aug 2020, 13:12
Finally, after a long day of touring; watching the dance, eating candy apples, the shooting game, goldfish flipping, lottery and even prayer; the the wizards stopped by a bench. Once more, a worrying event in Suki suddenly beginning to breathe unsteadily, her complaint triggering more attention from the Sinese. "Suki?" Looking to the girl, he hastened to hold her as she fainted in his hands.
Stressed at first, the Sinese calmed himself down through reasoning. Freaking out wouldn't help anyone. "...You've been through a long day, huh." He assumed, hoisting the girl over his back and hunching some as he began to pace away from the festival, back to a certain inn. "Time to go home, then. Here's to hoping you've at least enjoyed yourself some today, Suki."
"wǎn' ān."
