Remy was asking him to tag the Martello family’s crest on three buildings in town, owned by Vincenze. Some might choose the simpler or less refined targets, but not Mikajia. He wanted this to stand out, and to really drive home the message. So without further ado, Mikajia took the bag offered with several cans of spray paint, and was on his way.
His first target was a fine restaurant. Tagging was frequently looked down upon by the wealthy and “Upstanding” citizens; a.k.a. Prudes. People that loved to flaunt their money, and didn’t hesitate to lord their status over those they viewed as inferior. And from what he could tell from passing by many times in the past, this place was full of them. With a smirk Mikajia made his way up to the building, pulled out a can of spray paint and unfolded the template of the Martello family crest and began his work. It was well into the midnight hours; he mused the thought of returning in the morning to see his handiwork at play. The horrified expressions of the stuck-up prudes would be sure to give him hours of delight.
With more than a few crests tagged on the front of the building, he made his way to the next target: the bank. He could only imagine the fury of the Tessios when they find out that he had tagged their precious bank as well. It was a bold move, like the Martellos stating they could reach his money at any time. Mikajia made sure to place a crest on every single wall. Figured better to be thorough.
The final target was the boldest of all: the safehouse. What better way to send a message than to show that not even one of your most secret and guarded locations was safe? This one was bound to be the most infuriating, and probably most terrifying of all. And he would practically give anything to see the look on their leaders face when he would hear of this. The man was obviously a fool, and took far too much for granted. He believed himself untouchable, above any retribution or persecution. He couldn’t have been more wrong. He left his pawns and belongings unguarded, believing that his name and reputation alone should be enough.
He couldn’t be more wrong. And Mikajia was all too wiling to show him why, and how.
Mikajia made sure to place several crests all over the safehouse. And for extra measure, made sure to place one directly on the front door. He made sure to place it at eye level, so every time someone had to enter, they would be forced to stare at the crest, or avert their eyes. If they looked, it would be forcing them to acknowledge this happened. If they looked away, it would be a sign of weakness and cowardice. Either way, he won.
