Having survived in the wilds of Seven, Yugo was aware of the danger of fighting beastmen in an environment that not only fit them, but also the dangerous nature of fighting them when your out numbered. Icebergia also taught him that, but it also taught him that their bodies were as much weapons for some beastmen as it was for true monsters. But in his time in Fiore, he had learned something even more important. He learned that overconfidence can cost you greatly. As the lizardmen coordinated in an effort to use one as a long distance strike Yugo smiled brightly and slammed one foot into the ground as he raised his hand above his head like he had when he attacked Kazimir. The spiraling blade formed quicker this time, the magic runes that composed the magic circle formed quickly and cleanly. There were no gaps in the spell this time as the spell spun into existence , and begun to spin even faster and faster just as it had done with Kazimir.
However, Yugos mind was already racing as he remembered the combo attack that had separated him from Kazimir. Just as the pair tossed one of them as a projectile, Yugo moved and dashed to the side before throwing the now fully formed spell toward the thrower. It sang through the air like a laser beam of death, screeching as the air touched the magic circles edges. But the lizard man was prepared and rolled to dodge as his friend slammed into the rock where Yugo had been standing. Thankfully he seemed dazed as the disc sailed past the lizard man. It laughed as it stood up, or at least made a noise that Yugo thought sounded a whole lot like laughter. The young Rune Knight however would have the last laugh. He knew from his time as a slave in Seven that even if you dodged a magical attack, it didn’t mean it couldn’t be moved to redirect it again. He motioned with his hand by moving it back as if he was getting ready to punch, but doing so made the blade miss as it stopped, reversed its direction and curved a bit wider then he had anticipated. But that didn’t stop Yugo as he used his fingers to redirect it once again. It attempted to hit the lizard man again, yet found he dodged to quickly for an effective hit to be dealt. The lizard man ran and dodged and slipped and slid trying to avoid the blade as Yugo redirected it each time. However, Yugo would grow annoyed and refocus his attention. He redirected the spell and cause it to dodge the lizard mans counter attack. The Lizard man realized while looking at Yugo just where he was aiming. dazed Lizard man. The Other screamed out a warning in its native tounge as the spinning disc scored a direct hit and took the lizard mans head clean off as he sat up in confusion.
The blade cleanly cut through the scale and muscle and bone as it cleanly severed the lizards neck and sent it flying through the air. The surviving lizard man screamed out loud enough to echo through out the entire path they were on. The disc itself sailed a few feet further before finally shattering and turning to dust and then finally into nothing. The second roared and charged toward Yugo as he avoided the attack with ease. He knew what it was like to fight angry.
The lizard man attacked and attacked until he was exhausted, Yugo had simply dodged each blow. Alone and in a rage, the lizard man was no threat to the monkey man. Yugo forced his body to make another disc, he knew he needed to end it quickly as he saw the exhausted lizard man crying, picking up the severed head and clutching it in tears. He gently held the lizardmans shoulder as the blade materialized, spinning loudly. But Yugo knew the lizard man would still hear him. Yugos raised his hand, and with a quick motion he severed the lizard mans head as well. However this time, he helped the body lay down as the remains of the disc dissapeared. He stood over the dead bodies, blood dripping from the wounds he was covered in. He panted softly as he looked over his work. The monkey man wasn’t happy like he would have been months ago after battle. All he saw now was two dead creatures, who carried about each other enough that one cried for the other. He turned and made sure Kazimir was okay. He would remain quiet if questioned after the battle, only answering as he made his way back to town, he turned and looked at Kazimir.
“You asked me why I haven’t tried to escape… I could tell you the fact that I cant without dying from the relic they made me ingest, and that would be true...” He clenched his fist and turned to walk again. He remembered his talk with Captain Clearwater. “I woke up and felt a second chance at living,” he confidently made his way forward. “Ill fight until I earn the right to have my past forgiven."
