This was it. Tempris was going to show the Knights that her talents were being wasted on silly errands meant for lowly heretics. There were fliers going around for a tournament inside of the city. Tempris was planning on sneaking into the event but a Woman actually made a request for someone to take down the champion. This was perfect for Tempris. She could fight heretics, prove she was strong, and get paid for it. A true win-win.
The rules were simple. It was an eight bracket tournament where participates sign weeks in advance. No weapons or magics were allowed but everything else was full game. Some people call this the Bloody Baska due to the lack of care for the safety of the participant. This was definitely something Tempris would keep mind of. After all, less heretics in the world means Illumin would share more warmth and warmth is Illumin's love. The woman who hired her injured their ankle a couple of days a go which was why she needed someone to replace her. So now it was time to clean house.
The first round seemed easy enough. There was another kid about her age standing across the stone ring. It was a boy with a bandage on his face and a lot of spunk. He probably though he was fighting some weak girl but Tempris knew she was better than that. She was a Rune Knight after all.
The bell rang and the boy came for her yelling. Tempris took a few steps forward and shifted herself out of the way of the boy's punch. Then she grabbed his arm and pushed him out the ring. The crowd exploded with laughter. Tempris just looked down on the boy from her higher position in the ring. "Next time, don't run out the ring... sinner." A wide grin creeped on her face as she felt the sun beam on her neck. This was Illumin's will. victory was meant to be hers.
