Jikan

Another day, another task. And another day that Jikan needed to do a random mission to earn money to pay for a day's rent to stay and food while searching for her brother’s location. And so she was up again with the sun, seeing no meaning in wasting time lounging around when she had the energy to do something. But the question was, what job would she do this time? After her last mission yesterday dealing with those pirates, she needed an easier job. Something that would not require a lot of effort on her part. A Low-risk, low-reward type of job. Granted, the low reward part was a bit of a bummer, but she needed a break. With these intentions, she set out into the city from her inn room in search of all work. She had thrown on a plain green shirt and black joggers, hey she was comfy. Yes, she possessed more ‘professional wizard clothes’, but she had decided that it would be for the best if she tried to look normal and blend into the crowd, lest some dumb angry pirate spotted her and tried to get payback. A fact she was not worried about but was in no mood to deal with. That may be hard though, her long red hair kinda made her stand out in the causal crowds of blonde, black, and brown-haired people. Oh well. After searching for a mission on the board and looking around the general area, she found nothing that caught her interest. So she chose to take a short break to catch her thoughts. Coincidentally, this break had been just outside the police station. That was when a rather frustrated looking red-haired man in uniform came galloping out the door. He took a look around, and his eyes landed on Jikan. "Hey, you." the red-haired man pointed at Jikan. "Who, me?" she replied, surprised by being called out. "Yes, you. Come on in." the officer exclaimed, with an unsubtle tone of desperation and annoyance in his voice. He did not wait for an answer, and turned around and went back into the station. Jikan sighed. "Wa-wait you can’t just, ugh.." she whispered under her breath and followed the man who led her into his office.

Jikan

As soon as Jikan had caught up with him, 'Kenji' as she had just found out, had started telling the details of the errand Hikan was supposed to run for him . It seemed he wouldn't take no for an answer. It seemed that Jikan had to teach a couple of rebellious kids a lesson to stop them from painting graffiti all over the city. "Isn't that your job?" Jikan spoke, a bit suspicious and annoyed. Kenji squinted at her, clearly off-put by her defiance. "Look, I have my hands full today." he paused "I'm on ticket duty." he completed his sentence. Jikan sighed and rolled her eyes. She resented authority figures, mainly because they were always trying to make people do something, either just cause or for an ego boost, rarely out of an actually need. But she needed some cash anyway, she could help the guy out and get something in return.

"Alright, I'll do it. Where can I find them?" she asked. "You're a grown woman, a wizard too by your aura yea? I'm sure you're more than capable of finding them. But don't hurt them." the officer paused "Too much". he spoke, handing Jikan a bag, walked forward, and waved back at her, leaving her to her own devices. But he didn't think it would take much 'labor' to get a couple of kids in line. This...guy...

After some searching, she found the kids she thought were the troublemakers. They were painting on the side of a crumbling building. He envied them a little, carefree. The art not being too shabby. "Hey, stop that." Jikan stepped forward and spoke in an eerily sweet, calm tone. The kids turned around, almost in unison, taken aback by her tone. "Or what?" One of the kids, presumably the leader spoke out defiantly with his index finger on the button. It seems they weren't phased that an adult caught them, possibly due to bravado or the past events of not getting in trouble.

She sighed, her left hand moved to be in the air in front of her, small particles of wind flowing between her fingers. She hoped she would not have to use her magic, maybe she could still get through them though? They were just a bunch of rowdy kids after all. She preferred not having to threaten them or do this the hard way. She created a bullet-like projectile out of the particles between her fingers and shot it at the can, which landed a couple of feet away from the boy with a hole at the place of the bullet impact. She made no words, hopefully, the act would scare them into behaving, for now at least. She had no plans of going farther to the level of actually hurting them, but if her threat worked in stopping them, she would take it. She stuck out his arm and pointed outwards towards the exit with her thumb. The kids, as if on command, followed suit, dropping the graffiti cans. After they were out of ear and sight range, she sighed, the act of acting that way to children agitated her core. She picked up the cans, collecting them in the bag Kenji had given her. She then went back to the station, handed in the cans, and collected her reward.
