HomeWalking around the city of Baska, Shichiro had an uneasy feeling about today. he couldn't quite pinpoint what exactly was wrong but he knew something was terribly wrong with the atmosphere he was feeling. Placing his hands into his pockets for his comfort, he began to walk slowly through the streets of Baska city. Keeping alert, turning his attention into a different direction or so. The sun was up and out, a gentle breeze had blown in but for some reason, there was nobody out on the streets, nobody in the inn he was currently staying at, no sign of life. Ideally, this kind of situation would be perfect for him but even then he'd still be able to detect, or smell, signs of life nearby. As he walked down the street, he spotted somebody in the distance. Shichiro couldn't quite tell who or what it was coming towards him like that but he knew it wasn't good. Removing both of his hands from his pockets, Shichiro decided to prepare just in case as he walked closer to the situation in the distance. When the figure got closer, Shichiro realized there were two more figures behind the first one. It seems like the first figure was being chased down by the other two which made Shichiro quicken his step out of his duty as a Rune Knight. When they were within a certain distance, he heard yelling from what he figured was the first person in the front. The voice coming from it sounds like it belonged to Gerard as if he was in danger. Without getting further confirmation, Shichiro decided to leap into action and see if the person in question was indeed Gerard. Running forward, Shichiro had lunged towards one of the two figures in the back, delivering a swift knee to their chest, incapacitating them.

This made the other crazed citizen turn its attention towards Shichiro and begin to try its assault on him. With a savage swipe of it's hand, the crazed citizen tried to hit Shichiro's torso. Shichiro swiftly evaded it, whilst opening his right hand into an open palm, swinging it towards the neck of the other crazed person, promptly knocking them down as well. With that, Shichiro brushed himself off and turned to the figure who he now confirmed was Gerard, catching his breath. Shichiro approached him, placing both of his hands onto the doctor's shoulders and wondering if he was alright. He was panting profusely but he didn't seem to be injured too bad. Gerard, trying to talk through inhaling gulps of air, tried to tell Shichiro something but Shichiro couldn't quite make out what he was saying. Telling him to slow down and breathe, Shichiro waited potentially for the man to lessen his erratic breathing. After a couple of seconds, the doctor had tried once again to explain what was going on. Through breaths and gasps, Gerard had explained that it seems, despite everything he and the doctor tried to do, Mattoro and his gang released more of the poison into the water, and it has since infected everyone in Baska. As you just saw from the two people that were trying to kill Gerard, the entire city has become an arena, with everyone violently trying to kill everyone else. Having known about the plague for some time, Gerard made sure that he didn't drink any contaminated water, which makes the two of you the only sane people in all of Baska. With that explanation in mind, Shichiro found himself gripping the doctor's shoulder tighter than he was previously, knowing something like this would happen. He should have just ignored this idiot's plea and arrested all of those dangerous criminals when he had the chance.

Even if he couldn't apprehend the leader right then and there, he could at least reduce the dumping of the poison drastically and try to convince, or threaten, the information out of the rest of the collier gang. He just knew this would happen and even though he couldn't have completely stopped this catastrophe but he could have lessened it down than whatever this pandemic is. It's like one of those zombie outbreaks he's read about in fantasy books. Well, what was done is done and now he had to figure out a solution to this mess. As he was about to ask what he should do about this, Gerard had shoved the cure they had made previously into his hands and said, here's what he needed to do in order to quell this uprising. In order for this to work, the entire town had to be healed all at once or the entire town would just be re-infected once more. Shichiro found this odd since the doctor told him if they were cured with this, they couldn't succumb to the effects of the poison a second time. Well whatever the case may be, he didn't have time to argue about it now. Listening to the doctor's instructions, Shichiro was handed some detonators and instructions. He was supposed to go to three specific points to place them at and have them all go off at the same time. The first two locations are the furthest-most outskirts of the city: on the east side of Baska, and one on the West. These areas are almost identical but he'd have to make his way there through alleyways and avoid being spotted by the mob, otherwise he'd have a war on his hands that couldn't be dealt with so easily. Shichiro wanted to take that as a challenge but he wouldn't let his pride get in the way of his duty at the moment.

The final location is in the center of the city, and is surrounded by violent citizens, all of whom will try and kill both him and Gerard. The plan was for Shichiro to fend off the crazed citizens while Gerard set up the detonators and then move onto the next location, rinse and repeat. Nodding his head to the sound of the plan, Shichiro decided that he'd follow his lead and Gerard began to head to the east of Baska. Making his way there, Shichiro had to protect and fend from the straggling citizens. He couldn't take the mobs of people while protecting Gerard at the same time so he had to sneak along the cracks and crevices of the city. Making it to the farther east side of the Baska, Gerard had begun to set up one of the detonators he had Shichiro carry while he stood guard and fended the both of them from incoming attacks from the crazed citizens. It took a couple of minutes for the setup to happen but eventually, Gerard had gotten the detonator up and running. With that, the two of them can proceed to double back and go to the far west of the city. Once more, Shichiro had to defend the both of them from the wave of crazed citizens. Shichiro can't say he's ever seen something like this before but deep, down inside, he was enjoying it. After a few moments, Gerard had finished setting up the second detonator and they had to go to the last location to set up the detonator. The last location was the center of Baska which puzzled Shichiro cause they were originally very close to it when they first met up. Gerard said the only reason they didn't go there first was because that's where all the more dangerous individuals and the biggest mobs are.

It would have been harder for them to set up and then escape to the other two. it was a better plan to just set it up in the center last so the moment it was set up. He could just detonate it right then and there and cure the entire city of Baska simultaneously. With that in mind, Shichiro figured he couldn't argue with that and decided to continue to follow the man's lead and went through the least troubling pathway to the town center. Upon arrival, something was different about this place. There was indeed a horde of people here but it was mainly just unconscious bodies littered about. He wondered what would have the strength to do this as he spotted an old man at the center of where they needed to be. Though he was old, his physical features were defined. More surprising still would have to be the fact that nothing about him seemed old. He stood tall, chin tilted up to show a sense of confidence in his movement and the way in which he carried himself. His body was fit, as could be deemed from the clothing he wore that hugged his frame well. His chest was well built, stomach flat and arms rather impressive. If it weren't for his aged face and neck, Shichiro would have thought the guy was some younger, martial arts master. It was clear to him he was the reason the other crazed citizens were down on the ground due to how honed his body was and decades of experience. Admittedly, this kind of excited him and he was more focused on attempting to fight the old man instead of carrying out the mission. In the end however, the gravity of the situation had brought him back to reality as Gerard had begun to arm the detonator.

Fortunately for Shichiro, he'd still got his wish as the old man started to run towards them when they both started to move towards the point of the interest. Standing with his feet shoulder-width apart and taking one step back with his right foot and orienting it so his feet are at right angles to each other. His left leg was relaxed, with the majority of his weight on their right foot, keeping his body straight but maintaining the same angle. He brought his hands in front of his face, curling them while leaning his head forward behind them for better coverage of the face and holding his elbows forward so he could maneuver his arms to block body shots to his ribs or liver. This was a basic stance for a person that primarily used kicks in fights because it lends itself well to kicking and allows for greater mobility and stability. He was ready now, holding his stance he began to inch closer towards the old man that was running towards him. When the old martial artist made it to Shichiro, he threw a rather quick, but lackluster punch with his left hand towards Shichiro's face or to his nose to be more accurate. Shichiro leaned his head and his upper body to his left in order to evade the punch, retaliating with a body blow using his right hand into the martial artist's liver. Normally, that would take down most opponent's but since this man was a martial artist and was crazed by the poison, he was no longer considered most men. Reeling back in pain, the old man had decided he would deliver a kick towards the shin of Shichiro, in an attempt to hinder his leg. As he delivered his kick towards the leg of the man named Shichiro, he reacted by lifting up the leg in question so their shins collided with each other instead of with the intended target.

He felt a sharp pain in his shin but didn't pay much mind to it since he was already delivering his second strike towards the elder man's face. The old man had reacted by slapping his left arm down towards his chest. Overall, he thought it was a pretty good maneuver on the man's part since he had made a blunder himself, leaving his left side of Shichiro's body defenseless for the time being. Now, it seems the old man would retaliate with a left jab of his own, aiming for the right side of Shichiro's face. He was already prepared for this since his right arm as already present, near his face. Adjusting it ever so slightly across his face so the point of contact, regarding old man's punch would be his forearm, blocking the first initial jab. As the old man attempted to go in for a second strike using his right arm, Shichiro swiftly brought his left arm straight up from his chest, angling his wrist into making an 'L' shaped position with his hand and forearm. Using it to deflect the second jab the old man had thrown with his right and pushing up in a vertical direction, flicking his wrist at the height of momentum, being above his hair for some additional force. He had to admit the fight was quick exhilarating but it seems Gerard was almost down with setting up the last detonator. He knew he had to end this fight soon, so with his right arm, Shichiro thrust's a brutal right straight into the old man's chest with the power of the gauntlet. The old man had defended himself by placing both of his arms in front of his chest in order to absorb the incoming blow. Though he was successfully in getting his arms to its destination before the blow could land, the sheer force of the blow had knocked the arms away, impacting the old man's chest and knocking him out.

Shortly afterwards, Gerard had finished setting up the device and activated all of the detonators releasing the cure he's made into the air and enveloping the city of Baska. This caused the crazed citizens to fall down on their knees, convulsing painfully while vomiting and frothing at the mouth. Shichiro couldn't help but feel disgusted by what he was witnessing but in the end, the bodies had begun to lay motionlessly. Shichiro looked over to a painting Gerard slumped down sitting in the center of town and Shichiro decided he'd join him in that endeavor. He was also quite tired from all of the fighting he had done today and just wanted to as soon as possible. Gerard had assured him that he'd have to wait a bit just in case the cure didn't get all of them and he'd have to try again if there were still more infected people than curved ones. This caused Shichiro to make an audible groan but never the less he was happy things would finally end. Afterwards, it seems the cure had mostly worked and people were rising to their feet with some minor injuries and a lot of pain. It seems they still felt the blows they traded when they were infected, violent monsters before which was kind of amusing to Shichiro, though he hadn't done the ones in the center. After the whole ordeal, Gerard couldn't tank Shichiro enough, paid him his fee and went to see if his medical staff had woken up okay from the blows they had suffered. Apparently, the original two people that were pursuing Gerard were his own staff members. You'd think he'd warn them about drinking the water after all this time or something. As for Shichiro, he decided to leave the town and travel to Oak as he had business elsewhere.
