Akihiko glanced over the moonlit sky as he started the fire. Years had gone by now since the disbandment of his former guild, Sentinel Syndicate, yet he was reluctant to leave what was. This entire time he held onto the possibility of his master’s return, a false hope. Maybe he was foolish, but one thing is certain – he was alone in this world. As the fire crackled the shadows of creatures that crept in the valleys revealed themselves.
“Do you enjoy watching me?” he inquired.
Within the first couple months of his stay, Akihiko managed to get by living off the creatures he had slain. Beasts of all nature had confronted him day in and day out to the point he was restless. There were times when even he thought he could not go on. Still, Aki persevered and took on any who challenged him. His time spent at Sieghart Mountains was hell, to say the least.
As the words were uttered from his lips the creatures trembled in fear. Instinctively, they knew that picking a fight with Akihiko would mean certain death. So, they hurriedly scattered among the cracks and crevices of the valleys.
“Oh..? I guess not.”
The warrior tossed sticks into the fire then laid on his back.
“It seems that I’ve overstayed my welcome. Perhaps it’s time to venture elsewhere.”
