Bottoms Up [Solo/Request]

Keita was wandering about, doing his usual thing of trying to find something to do, and decided to go ahead and head to the request board to see if anyone had posted something up of interest that would be important. He was always in the mood to help people, so when he saw a fairly simple request that was to take care of someone's shop while they were out at a drinking contest, he grabbed it immediately. Keitas was also a fan of drinking, so this was something that spoke to him, although things like drinking contests should definitely be done in moderation. As Keita grabbed the request, it was still around an hour and a half until the request was supposed to be completed, so he went and grabbed some lunch, before heading over to the location. The smithy Rander was there, looking slightly anxious, when Keita walked in through the door.

Rander looked up at Keita, slightly hopefully, and simply asked what he could do for Keita. Keita responded with a smile, saying that he was here to take the request that the large man had sent to the request board to watch his shop while he went out drinking for the contest, and the large man Rander wore a large grin on his face, and started saying that this was great, and thanking Keita for taking the request. Rander then started getting ready, saying that since he was here already, he would go ahead and leave the rest to him, and would pay him a little bit extra for his trouble.

Keita said that it was no problem to Rander, and said that he was just here because it seemed to be of a big help. Rander was busy getting a bunch of stuff ready, and Keita wondered why someone needed that many things to go and drink for a drinking contest, but he was going to be extremely polite and just wait patiently for the man to get everything ready in some sort of briefcase. the amount of things were a bit strange, but some of them were just different cups and goblets that he packed in his suitcase, it seemed that he did not trust whatever cups the people who were hosting the contest were going to use, or maybe his special cup had some sort of deeper meaning to him, and so he was going to use it regardless.

Rander continued a bit of small talk when he was packing, and Keita would talk to him about alcohol for a bit. Rander was quite a bit older and more experienced to Keita about the finer points of alcohol, and so Keita learned a lot. He was not an alcoholic like Rander, but the techniques to pour certain alcohols, and the fact that a lot of the older stuff required certain cups and types and shapes of the ice cubes put in the cups were all news to Keita, and so his appreciation for the finer art of alcohol was definitely increased. Keita then bid Rander farewell as he walked out of the smithy towards the tavern.

Rander had left the smithy, and so Keita was sat there by himself, simply looking around the smithy, and there seemed to be quite a few fun looking things here. He was definitely looking through a couple of weapons that were unique, some sort of chain with some sort of curved blade attached to the end of it was something that Keita had never seen before, although he had heard of some of these eccentric weapons before, it was really fun seeing them up close. He was far too polite to start messing with them, so he was simply looking them up and down, as he was not interested in the normal weapons, which were just swords mostly. Swords were sort of boring to him, as they were a bit bland and basic, although they were definitely effective, he preferred magic and his fists, but the more eccentric weapons were also interesting. He wondered what sort of enemy they were made to counter, much like polearms were for countering cavalry charges.

As he was contemplating these weapons, he heard some people outside start yelling for the smith to get out and to get ready to have his shop smashed. Keita was confused, and wondered if the people waited for the smith to leave, considering he was gigantic and menacing, and probably knew hoe to wield the weapons he had made, so these thugs obviously waited for him to leave to try and smash the shop. Keita simply responded by asking them what they wanted, and to go away if they wanted trouble.

The thugs were a bit rowdy, and the leader walked forward and asked if the man had not seen their message and warning. Keita wore a puzzled look, before looking where the thug was pointing, and he saw a big get out of here painted on the outside of the shop. Keita was much too engrossed in the strange weapons to see the thugs come earlier and vandalize the shop, and now it seemed that they were where to make sure that their job was finished and that the person inside had to leave. Keita told them to go away and he would pretend that they were never here, and to that the thugs just laughed, with the leader of them walking up to Keita. He was about a foot taller than Keita and looked a bit strong, but Keita knew these types. The thug was all talk, and put his hand on Keita's shoulder, telling him that he would be put in the hospital if he did not get out of here, handing over the smithy in the process.

Keita simply grabbed the man's hand and used some leverage to twist it away from himself, grabbing it and twisting harder to put the man into a joint lock which would come with some significant pain. As he did that to the lead thug, the thug cried out in pain and fell to his knees, and Keita also summoned a bunch of wisps and flashed his Rune Knight pendant, and the thugs knew they were in over their heads, and so they surrendered. Their boss was the toughest, and was handled easily. Eventually Rander came back and thanked Keita, and paid him for his troubles.
