Today was Bryson's first real assignment as a page of the Rune Knights. He was excited, but he also was a tiny bit nervous. He knew that as a 12 year old, the knights probably didn't expect him to be as capable as the other pages but the truth was, he was beyond capable. In fact, he would show it today. Apparently the fishermen were reporting some sort of monster that made it way too hard for them to catch any fish. The monster was scaring all of them away. Lately Bryson had been fighting a lot of monsters it seemed. Not too long ago he was fighting harpies with Erebus and now he was about to face another one. The only problem was that this monster had been in a cave somewhere. Of course this meant he would have to travel on a boat and gods know the young Desiertan hated being in large bodies of water. He shivered just thinking about it. Nonetheless, money was money and he signed up for this when he became a lackey in the Rune Knights. Bryson approached the dock where a sailor had been waiting for him. Hesitantly Bryson stepped into the boat and immediately he sat down with his eyes closed. The sailor raised an eyebrow, then began sailing the boat. The entire time Brysons eyes were closed. He hated this. He hated knowing that there was nothing but water all around him, and he hated the way the ship rocked back and forth. Within no time though, he was finally at the cave.

The hunter wore his Dark Knight's Cuirass and his gun was inside the holster sitting patiently on his waist. Slowly he stepped off of the boat, making sure that the water beneath him would not touch him. His former slave masters really did a number on him with that one. Trauma was real, and every time he saw an ocean, or the sea he relived that trauma. He turned to the sailor and told him to wait there. Slowly the hunter would walk into the cave. It was dark, cold, wet and smelled like rotten eggs. Every step he took was completely silent. His cape slide across the ground as he walk and even that was silent. Lil B's hand found the revolver and slowly slid it out of the holster. Then, he heard groan...then a sniff and suddenly a monster around his size stepped out of the shadows and revealed itself. It was a baby monster of some sort. It had blue scales all over its body, webbed hands and feet both protruding long claws and in one of its hand was about three dead fish. So this was the monster stealing all of the fish. It definitely didn't look harmless, though it probably just wanted to eat as much fish as it wanted in peace. Well, that was too bad. Bryson sighed. Suddenly, the monster roared as if it was trying to tell the page to back up. There was only one thing to do. If this creature remained alive then surely it would only keep taking fish. So Bryson slowly raised his gun and pulled the trigger, shooting it dead in the head and watching it fall. Then he grabbed two nets full of fish that it had been guarding and went back to the boat. The sailor was happy. He smiled the whole way back to Astera's dock where Bryson would drop the large nets full of fish and collect his reward.
