Owls hooted and crickets chirped in the distance. The Desiertan hunter was making their way back from their room after changing their outfit for the rest of the night. This outfit was flashy, but a lot more comfortable and fitted than the Kimono they had worn. Not to mention the fabric and clothing much better reflected their own culture. As they walked with a silky transparent veil over their head, Khalfani couldn't help pondering on the knowledge the sun-Amun-Ra- had given them. The truth was, the demi-god didn't want to face their destiny alone. Though this information was important to their elder sibling, revealing it would probably benefit themselves more than they wanted to admit. For now though, Khal found comfort in the idea that they were doing this for the greater good. As the knight neared the doors of the Sugma Ball for the second time tonight, they could see a figure standing in front of the building.

Frown crossing his face as his anger and ire rose with the temperatures, he would help the poor boy up before excusing himself from the party, his mood fouled with the shitty aristocratic tendencies of those who lived in this foul land. He couldn't pinpoint what it was about this country that truly pissed him off, but he knew that the longer he was here and not intoxicated, the more he wanted to burn it all down to nothing but ashes and cinders. His aimless walking would take him out the front door of the ball room, the air around him visibly distorted from the incredibly warm temperatures that now enveloped him like a warm blanket. It wasn't too far to say that he had replaced the warm Stellan air with that of his own as he stood outside of the ballroom with a look of utter discontent on his face.

However seeing no one in his immediate vicinity, Seika would turn back forward now with a bit more confusion showing on his face as the boy stated that he wished to actually talk to him. Now that was really interesting. It was intriguing enough that his anger was slightly forgotten, however his heavy aura remained behind as he stared down at the boy before him, "What do you need from me Apprentice Bryson, I wasn't aware that Captain Augustus was here in Stella for this event."
The boys concern for his mental well being was all nice and good, but now was not the time nor the place to be discussing such things when there were so many natives around that would be offended at his rather brutish outlook at their society.

This level of logic lead Seika to believe the boy was in fact acting far beyond what would be considered 'free reign' territory and going so far as to even instill orders of his own in an effort to accomplish his own goals, something that was further proven as the boy continued to speak about his family. Seika blinked at this information, why would the boy want to come to him to talk about his own family. While he was a superior, he wasn't much for prying into private matters and clearly the boy needed to speak to someone about this information. On top of that, the persistence the boy showed meant that the information was likely extremely important, at least in the boys mind which meant that it could not possibly fall upon the wrong ears less it cause either a scene or a national issue.
Frowning at all of this, Seika would hunch his massive shoulders as he raised a finger to his chin and pondered on the boys request. There was just one more thing that bothered him as the boys last words rang hollow inside of his head, "Who are you calling 'Brother', Apprentice Bryson?" The man's confusion was warranted. He had lived his whole life under the assumption that he had no real family aside from that he was raised with. That meant that all of his siblings were from a time when he was trained to be a living weapon, and as far as he was concerned, he had very few siblings that remained from that time.

The Desiertan had learned a number of things, like the fact that they were of Royal Descent on both sides of the family. That alone meant that they were descendants of the gods, given the idea of what being a Pharaoh meant. Ultimately though, they learned that their elder brother had a key role in this somehow- even moreso than they did. The young apprentice lifted their arm to wipe the sweat off of their forehead. Their eyelids slightly lowered as the heat had become almost unbearable at this point. Quickly closing their eyes Khal focused their energy at their core, allowing their magic to course through their body before a rainbow aura just barely resonated from their body to cool their body down. Once they opened their eyes they could see the captain take an unamused expression, tapping their chin before asking who they were referring to.
Khalfani cringed at the name Bryson. It wasn't who they were and it resonated with a part of them that they were trying to move on from. The hunter looked around. "You're the only one standing outside, Knurn." They said before moving their hair out of their face. "And I know it may take a while for my updated file to process, but my name isn't Bryson. It's Khalfani." Even in their cold tone and blunt wording there was pride, and for good reason. After all Khalfani had endured they had discovered that they were some lost crown royal- that they actually may have had a much larger purpose. Perhaps Seika would feel the same way. "Just like your name isn't really Seika, Knurn..." Khal looked around just to make sure nobody was around to hear the conversation. "You are the son of two royal families. The eldest of a Pharaoh's daughter, the first born of a Savannan prince. Both are long dead, but...
Khalfani walked forward, stopping until they were directly in front of the towering dark-skinned fire mage, looking up deep into his eyes. "That makes you a..." The hunter waited for Knurn to piece it together and finish the sentence, but if he didn't Khal would take the liberty to do it. "King." they said matter-of-factly in a sigh with a slight shrug.

With this in mind, Seika would take a visible step back, the first sign that the young man had made even the smallest headway in the conversation. And while Seika still firmly believed the young man before him was spouting absolute nonsense, the true conviction of his voice and his actions shook the man to his core. "Look I don't know what you're after, but this conversation has already gone too far and is now over. Return to your Captain at once and inform him that I'll be speaking with him about your conduct and choice of conversation."

Khalfani closed their eyes, dropping their head. "You big dummy..." Khalfani began. Suddenly their eyes opened and immediately found their way back to Knurns, but this time their silver eyes were glowing a vibrant gold color. "You can't tell anyone what I've just told you. Don't you get it? I wouldn't even be here if what I said wasn't true. You think I have some sort of strange ass hidden agenda? Use that big ass head of yours and think!" Khalfani rolled their eyes. "The only reason I'm telling you this is because the sun god told me to. If it were up to me, you'd be living a life of lies, chasing the next paycheck until you grow old and return to the ground." Fani sighed.
Before Knurn could get a word out, they continued- eyes still burning with golden light. "Think about it for one second. I found it hard to believe at first too but I know you feel it. I don't know what it is, but I know you feel it because I feel it just by being next to you. Take what I said as you will but you can't ignore your destiny, Knurn." The hunter hissed. They were done explaining themself, so with their last words they would begin walking around Knurn towards the hall of the ball.

These questions and concerns floated around Seika's head as the boy mentioned the one thing that he was certain the boy didn't even know was relevant. Mentioning Sol, or rather one of his proxy's in conversation was almost grounds for Seika to approach the boy to see what he knew. If the boy was a believer then why didn't he start off with that. It wasn't like Seika wasn't well known amongst those who worshipped Sol, he was the only one who decided that they could try and spread the love of Sol to the heretical lands of Fiore. But here was a young boy who claimed to have talked to Sol and was using the gods ideals to try and speak some knowledge into him. If that were the case then the most Seika could do would be to at least listen to the boy. Frowning as the boy started to walk past him, he realized that he had been locked into his own thoughts the entire time the boy had been speaking to him outside of small bits and pieces that he had taken in. Seeing the boy about to pass him, his hand shot out and tried to grab onto the slim arm of the boy as he stepped past him. The much taller and far more powerful knight at least tried to keep the boy from moving forward into the ball as he continued to stare forward into the moonlit night. "How do you know of Sol? Your answer will determine whether or not this will continue to be a conversation, or whether or not I'll go ahead and deal with this issue myself. You've made many claims tonight, but to claim to have spoken with a God is something I cannot ignore. If you can convince me that what you claim is true, I will try to actually hear you out completely."

"I don't know of Sol. I only worship the Zharian gods, but..." Khalfani began. "Admittedly I...I'm not sure if it was Amun-Ra or another god that I spoke to." The kid looked away as if they were embarrassed to admit it. "I met a woman named Daisia from Desierto. She claimed to be from a family that served our mothers family for generations until they were all hunted and killed for treason or somethin'. I sat with her and she elevated my consciousness. I was brought to this foreign land which I assumed to be Desierto in the span of a second. Next thing I knew, the sun came to me from the sky and it spoke to me. The sun told me to grab it and it would give me knowledge and power. So, began chasing it but..." Khalfani swallowed.
It wasn't a painful memory but the experience itself was surreal. Even now it was had for them to believe it had actually happened. "then these weird ghostly creatures emerged from the ground and began chasing the sun too. I think they didn't want me to capture the sun. In the end, I beat them both and finally the sun stopped moving." They cleared their throat, turning their eyes back onto the bulky knight. "When I caught it a white light consumed me and I was brought back to my body with knew knowledge...and a divine power." Khalfani then frowned. At this point it didn't matter if Knurn wanted to believe them or not, they didn't have the patience anymore. "I thought maybe you could help me understand, but you're just as lost me. I don't know who this Sol is and I don't know which sun-god I spoke to, but I'm fairly certain they were a Zharian god." Khalfani faced forward.
"Now Captain Seika, let me pass, so we can pretend like we've never had this conversation."

Seika would not immediately unhand Bryson, or rather as the boy called himself, Khalfani, no he would first turn back towards the ball he had just left and scowled. Now there were too many questions, and not enough answers. If what this boy said was true, then he was truly only feet away from acceptance of his rightful place and the acknowledgement of his destiny. However there was always a seed of doubt. It was easy to twist intentions, to honey words. And while the boy so far had seemed to be genuine in his efforts to communicate with whom he considered a brother, Seika was not so sure that another entity or some other force had co-opted the boys plans and goals for themselves to place him and others like him in a situation where they could be harmed.
Thus Seika was left with a choice. Take charge of the situation and move it to a better location suitable for a conversation, or let it end here and never speak or think of it again. It was the temptation that was killing him. The simple thought that he could once again speak to Sol, that he could finally learn the 'truth' as it would. But that would mean killing the old and returning with the new, to rebuild and reassess his life's work. Or maybe, by learning the truth he only reconfirms his earlier beliefs and professes and even greater dedication to all that Sol had provided. It was these thoughts and considerations that flowed through Seika's head like a windmill, spinning and weaving a constant cycle of doubt and curiosity until he finally couldn't take it anymore.
His hand would finally relinquish the young man, noticeable singe marks from the intense heat that being near his person would bring were present on the boys arm and clothing that had touched his hand. His frown was only matched by his intense glare as he leveled his entire presence onto the boy with a look that could melt even the King of Fiore. "Let us take this somewhere else. It seems you have a lot more to tell me about your meeting and our history and here on this balcony is not the place to do it." With that he'd begin to walk off, whether the boy followed or not was not of his concern. He had already decided to hear the young man out, but this location was not ideal for what needed to be discussed. There was too much important and very sensitive information that would likely be tossed around for it to be discussed on the balcony of a ball in a country that clearly had no love for people like them. It was time for Seika to finally learn the truth. The whole truth.
