Kaito is walking around enjoying the morning, in the city he meets with captain Devon, who is asking Kaito to help with recruiting of some more guard to help protect so what happened in Era will not happen here on his watch. Kaito and the captain say their good byes then Kai goes into the park to look for any early rising recruits. Kai's cloak flows in the wind making him look like a lost wander on the steps, he figures if he looks cooler maybe it will be easier to recruit for the guards.

Everyone he tries to talk to just avoids him, he thinks for a second then he goes and changes his clothes to more normal looking clothes no mask and slightly ruffled hair, so he looks softer and more approachable, then his scary masked and cloaked look he is usually wearing. He talks to a group of young men who seems slightly interested and one that wasn't in the group that is ignoring Kai cat calls a passing woman who punches him right in the stomach, dropping the man like a small child.

Kai waves his hand to her and she walks over and looks at him, Kai asks if she would like to join the guard and help protect other women like her from men like that thoughtless asshole. She agrees to join the second Kai says those words to her and so far he feels she is the strongest name he has gotten all morning for joining. He looks at the list of like five names he has gotten so far hoping he can make a decent sized list for the captain.

Around mid-day the park is packed with potential people that he can recruit, but Kai is having no luck with getting anyone to join the list. He sighs then feels a sharp pain in the back of his head, it is the guy from this morning that cat called that girl who just sucker punched him from behind. Kai turns grabbing the man, suplexing the man into the ground and people stop and look at what just happened.

Kai stands up and dusts himself off and looks down on the man, who is just looking up regretting his life choice to sucker punch Kai. Kai helps the man up and tells him to get lost before he calls the guards to come and take him off for his assault on him. The man makes tracks in fear of the guard taking him away. Kai returns to trying to recruit the youths to no luck really besides a few on lookers that saw him suplex the man.

Someone bumps into Kai trying to pickpocket him, Kai sweeps their leg, then puts his foot on their chest as soon as they hit the ground really not in the mood to deal with an idiot, he sighs and removes his foot from the wannabe pick pocket and tell him the guards could probably use him, there he could sharpen his skills and learn more of the world, the man looks dumb founded at Kai trying to recruit him after just trying to pickpocket him, but agrees and give his name and other info to Kai that he needs.

Kai tries not to lose hope but he feels maybe he is not cut out for recruiting. He figures he would be the last one that would be able to even lead a team, let alone grow it or use it. He sighs then hears some people getting close to him and ask him if he is alright, Kai nods then starts up his helping to keep the city safe speech by joining the guard and helping stay the hands of evil from consuming this city if all else is lost.

They look at him like he is some prophet of a dark future, then they laugh softly and agree to join and they give him their info which Kai dutifully writes down and he gets them on their way, he wonders if maybe he should just be fighting people in the park but shakes his head cause that seems more like he is bullying people into joining instead of letting them join the guard of their own power.

Kai gets some food from a vendor that is on the side of the park then sits on the side of a planter with flowers in it his hair dancing behind him in the wind. He wonders if maybe it is his face that is scaring new potential off, he wonders if he should put his mask back on. He notices a group of people looking at him so he finishes eating then he walks across the park to the people that were staring at him and they scatter when he gets close.

"yeah must be my face" he thinks to himself, feeling like that was why the people fled from him as he got close. He gets back to trying to recruit anyone he can and the group comes back and they say they want to sign up as well, he gets their names and other info he needs and he feels like he had seen some of them somewhere before, but he can't place them. He looks at his list which is getting close to twenty, so far eighteen names are on his list of potential guards.

He does one last push to get recruits and he wonders if this is how Tempris feels when she is looking for faithful. The scorned looks of people you talk to that tell you they are judging you, he figures even if it is she wouldn't really let it show on her face. He gets a few last names added to the list before evening falls. He sits back down feeling exhausted from spending his whole day out here trying to recruit.

He figures he is good to pack up for the day and he puts his cloak and mask back on and takes his list and he starts walking to where the captain told him to meet him at the gate, the captain takes the list from Kai and smiles then says he had done a great job and pays Kai who decides he is gonna hit a bath house cause it should be pretty much a ghost town by now.
