That's not a bad bit of coin. Alright, let's get this done. I've got a mani pedi at Seven and I refuse to be late.
The time currently was about four pm, with it still being winter one probably couldn't tell due how quickly it got dark but she was certain to finish this task sooner than that. Taking the lead and walking into the church she could see it was mostly empty save a few nuns and a priest. Sighing she counted from three down to one in her head because she knew exactly how what was going to happen. As soon as her whole body was in the church the two nuns snapped their heads in her direction and made a bee line to her, splashing water at her, water she could only assume to be holy. Rolling her eyes she wished she didn't go through this every time she walked in a church. That water they were splashing didn't work how they thought it did because their was no more connection to earth from that god they worshipped so much.
That's not going to work on me. I'm here with a friend for the little problem you're suppose to have downstairs, and this is the treatment I get? So much for welcoming anyone, no wonder your god abandoned you.
A smug smile spread acorss her face and she began to laugh. The pale faces of the nuns turned red and one of them raised their hand only to be stopped by the priest. That's enough sister! I will take it from here. You two attend to your duties. A voice deeper than she expected came from the priest as he spoke to his underlings. The two nuns for moments ago were full of rage and gusto were now backing away like little mice. It was amusing but Veronica wouldn't continue to laugh at them and instead turned her attention to the priest. I'm so sorry. I don't know what's gotten into them. Even though you are what you are those two know better than to treat anyone like that, I'm truly sorry. Please follow me. The priest spoke with respect towards her or at least that what it seemed like on the surface. Veronica wasn't stupid and she wasn't born yesterday, she wouldn't let anything that happened since she walked through these doors slide today that was for damn sure. Letting the priest lead the way she followed on, looking towards Khalfani before her attention was pulled back towards the priest.
Every so often the spirits down in our catacombs become restless. Some of these spirits are lost souls just trying to find their purpose but some are vengeful. We would like you to put them all at rest rather than destroying them. Putting them to rest will make them go away but destrying them will just make them cause more trouble later as they just come back after awhile. These stairs lead down to the catacombs, just return when you are done and I'll give you your pay. Thank you so much for your help in advanced, now if you'll excuse me I'm needed elsewhere
The priest gave a little bow and scuttled away. Veronica's gaze honed in on him like daggers but he wouldn't meet hers with his own, wise choice on his end. Looking down the stairs she took the lead, ladies first and all that. Venturning down into the catacombs she could see the mana fuled lamps ahead that would light their path. The audacity of these actual idiots. They wouldn't have this fucking problem if they just destoryed the place altogether, but fuck it more money for us I guess. How they keep getting the money to pay for basically exterminators is beyond me. Did he just ask us to save these things? No. Kill anything you see on sight. Destroy it all. Good or bad it's faster. Her words seeped out with malice but it was calm, far too calm for the task they had ahead of them. She didn't have actual spells nor did she have any weapons to fight with but she was still able to control her mana to some extent and to produce it in ways that could still be considered offseinve and able to do damage.
Upon reaching the final step of the staircase and now actually into the catacombs she could see four paths going into the four cardinal directions. The sounds of wailing and winds wooshing throughout the area could be heard and the tempeture had dropped considerably. Sticking together would allow them time to chill and talk but splitting up would make the work go faster. Veronica didn't really care what they did but she would pass the questions along to Khalfani. We could work this together or split it up. What would you like to do?

How could you support the church and all of its hypocrisies. They were indeed an entity that didn't matter on the grand scheme of things. All of that praise, commitment and worship for a false god who had proven time and time again that he could give a shit about the people of Earthland. If he did, things would have been a lot fucking different overall. The rogue prince nodded towards Veronica. She had things to do so she wanted to get this all done quickly. Fair enough, Khal thought. He didn't wanna be here all night either. It was already getting light and the sun had been retreating. Gods, he couldn't wait until summer time.
"Cool. Let's do this."
It was funny. When Veronica approached Khalfani she was adamant on him taking point for this little quest, but it seemed lke she had changed her mind. It was a good thing too because the nightmare sorcerer was feeling the effects of the herbs he had just finished smoking. Everything looked dreamy. He might just fuck around let Veronica handle everything. He had just bought these boots too, perhaps it would be best to not fuck them up. The white haired mistress walked into the church and Khalfani trailed right behind her. He was curious as to what her skills might. Unlike him, she may have been a stable magic user. Khalfani's magic had undergone so many changes in a short span of time, it was hard to actually get a grip on his powers. The gods had literally been fighting for his body.
On one hand you had Amun-ra who had unlocked his latent potential, then you had Apophis manipulating fate, causing Khalfani to turn into a vampire. And now... it seemed like Apophis had other plans now that the prince had already accepted his connection. As the duo entered the building, the nuns immediately turned around and threw the water on Veronica. Khalfani scratched his head. Shit like that would make him kill everyone in the building and just steal the damn money. Perhaps the trouble it would cause wasn't worth it though. Holy water though? That could only mean they knew Veronica was a demon.
With a sigh Khalfani shook his head and Veronica began speaking. Apparently holy water didn't work on her. Did these nuns really have zero experience with real actual demonic beings? It was a laughable attempt at best. However, it was amazing how Veronica kept her composure. although Khalfani wasn't boisterous or verbal with his anger all the time, he would have killed them al with the most nonchalant expression and kept it moving. He wasn't patient at all. The panther raised an eyebrow and watched Veronica interact with the rest of them, silently. A sharp reply was thrown at the nuns, reminding them that their god was always nowhere to be found. The nuns were triggered to say the least, but before any more harm could come to the people in the space, a deep voice made an appearance and began speaking.
Veronica had all of this under control so Khalfani still hadn't said a word. This would go by smoothly. No issues, no problems, just easy money how he liked it. The priest continued speaking, apologizing on behalf of his cultists and explaining the task at hand in depth. Typical. He probably despised Veronica too, yet he knew that the problem underneath this building needed to be fixed and quickly. Who knows what could happen if whatever creatures were beneath the ground had decided to come out and play. Khalfani didn't mind either way, he wouldn't be in Oak for long and most of the people here had sticks up their asses. When the man was finished, Veronica had left, glaring at him despite the fact that he was too afraid to return the gaze. Khal simply made his way up to him and said his piece.
"Make sure the reward is up to par, alright? We would hate to have to deal with you when we're done." He said coldly, although as politely as he could with a short nod.
The priest looked at him with widened eyes before nodding. He understood the message loud and clear. Khalfani knew that these folks may have taken this as a chance to underpay the both of them because of what he assumed off of their demeanor alone, so clearing that up before getting his hands dirty was imperative. Shortly after he caught up to Veronica. The two of them moved down the stairs as Veronica briefly expressed how stupid this all was. The Prince couldn't agree more. No matter how many times they eradicated the monsters or whatever in the catacombs they just always seemed to come back. In the end Snow White told him to just destroy them all, no saving them.
"Alright." he chuckled after Veronica finished with her rant. Her words held a certain malicious tone, surely annoyed, but her expression remained the same. This was definitely the Veronica show, and Khalfani was here for it. She was giving anti-hero energy to the girls. When they finally reached the catacombs, Khalfani couldn't help but crumble his nose up at the smell.
It smelled like dead old people and sweaty balls. Why the fuck would anyone really come down here? The Panther's partner asked what he wanted to do. "Let's split up and get this over with." He said coldly. He was always straightforward. "And don't die." He said before turning away and making his way through the tunnel on the left side of the catacombs. The tunnel was dark and smaller than the main one that brought them here. Moaning noises could be heard the further he walked. Finally when he reached the end of the tunnel he ended up at a circular room housing three opened coffins. Damn, this was about to be annoying, he thought. Suddenly he heard a booming screech from all around him and tapped his ear-piece to activate his helmet.
A woman began manifesting. Tall, ugly and white. Her hair looked dry and brittle like she was ready to just fall over and die...again. Without a moment of hesitation she screeched again and jolted towards Khalfani. With a 15 meter difference between them, he had more than enough time to dart to the side as she swiped her ghostly hand at his previous position.
"Bitches be mad that they died and take it out on everybody else. Could never be me." He said out loud as if taunting the wench of a spirit.
Angered, she screeched again. This time her screech shook the entire building, causing pieces from the roof on the entire church to break off and rocks to fall from the roof of the catacombs. Again she darted towards the Black Panther of Eternal nightmare. She seemed to have it out for not only him, but the building as a whole. So why the hell didn't she just leave? Maybe it was time to test a theory. The prince-brother hoped Veronica was faring well. In fact, he was actually playing this like an unspoken competition. Whoever finished first would win.

The ghost child didn't have a chance to cry but its death triggered something sinister. Around her, one by one the mana lights flickered out until she was in complete darkness. Shit. Of course she didn't think ahead, who would have thought killing a ghost would piss off another ghost? Obviously not her dumbass. Letting her mana seep from every pore of her body, she would wait for whatever was coming to come. Little did that thing know was that she couldn't be blinded by the darkness surrounding her so once all the lights were out she could see that the reason for the little blackout was a grotesque-looking specter in the shape of a dog. At least she thought it was a dog as it was on all fours. The creature ran at her with speeds she couldn't keep up with and was knocked on the floor when it connected with her midsection. The wind was literally knocked out of her as she tried to catch her breath, coughing and choking on the dirty floor. Having lost track of the thing she felt around until she touched a wall, using it to help her get up and gain her bearing. This didn't last long as she was knocked over from the back, planting face forward into a wall causing her nose to bleed. Taking a deep breath she was starting to get annoyed and shot ice out from every pore of her body, skewering the ghost dog at the same moment it came charging at her again.
Oh great. Now I have to buy this outfit all over again. This is coming out of that priest's pockets. Pushing herself off the wall the lights around her began to flicker back on. Veronica didn't linger in this part of the catacombs for too long as she continued on her path killing any ghosts that came by until she came to a dead end. Having figured that her work for the most part was done she would turn around and leave. Yes, she would leave if she could leave. A wall was blocking the path she had just come from. Another ghost trick, how wonderful. This time two ghosts appeared before her they had come to thank her for killing their child and it's a dog. Apparently, the child had killed her parents and the dog ate their body. They knew that appearing before her in any other way would most likely have them killed so they trapped her first, or so they explained. Veronica's actions gave them peace and set them free which caused them to move on to a better place and set her free. Giving a light chuckle she shook her head and left the area a dirty mess with a bloody face but still alive. Moving upstairs to get her pay first she would wait for Khalfani before leaving, she still had plenty of time to kill before her appointment.
