Emil
Emil entered the bustling busy city the clanking of hammers the smell of furnaces burning at high heats reminded him of his home back in Bosco. He knew little about the north besides they were strong and busy people he had even heard rumors of giant monsters living in the mountains. It was hard to tell what could be discarded as just old wife’s tales and what needed to be held close and watched out for.

He had come to the north to find the monster hunters guild that he had heard about since the guild he had been serving in had be disbanded out of no where so he was left pretty much on his ass in the cold without a word of warning. He figures joining a monster hunting guild will be a still pretty decent fit for himself even though he knows that probably carries a heavier weight and risk of dying then the last guild he was in but he figured it was worth a chance.

He examined some of the wares and raw materials that the shops had on display for him and others that were passing. He wonders if any of it would be found useful to him in this new chapter in his life or if it is all just background images and noise that will just mean nothing in the long road he has ahead of him to catch up to his younger brother.

Shopping was one of life’s joys. Seeing the stalls, meeting the people, browsing their goods and coming away from it with lighter pockets but heavier wardrobes. Ahhh. It was truly an exhilarating experience and today was simply the perfect day for it. The merchants were in town and, as always, they brought a great deal of goods with them. Food from other nations, jewellery forged in distant lands, armour crafted from afar, treasures plundered and sold. It was one of those little vices that brought the masked magus a great deal of joy. Plus, what also made Rush Valley an attractive shopping spot was how blaise the merchants were about selling anything and everything to anyone.

Khorshid’s wandering eventually brought her to a stall hawking arms and armour, things that would normally not at all interest Khorshid but today? She found herself a little bit more inclined to them. Armour was entirely out of the question given the very nature of her magic but weapons? Now those might prove to be worthwhile. Swords, daggers, a few bows, axes, hammers and a wide variety of others. A larger weapon…did not exactly meet Khorshid’s preference for a bit of subtlety but a dagger or short sword? Excellent options.

But…hmmm. She felt she needed an outside opinion, one ideally untainted by any form of bias and you know what? There was a perfect candidate standing by, also perusing the varied weapons. Khorshid wheeled to face them, twisting around upon her heels, a wide smile decorating her face.

You there. I would very much like to borrow just a moment of your time. These daggers here. Do you think they are a suitable pairing for myself or should I explore some alternative options?” She had a hand rested upon her waist, a confident expression and was exposing rather a great deal of skin in the form of her shoulders and arms, except the right arm anyway; that one was covered in a full length glove that went all the way up to the point where arm met shoulder.

Emil hears someone calling to him as "You there" the six foot man turns around and looks to the person that had called out to him, the person asked if they could borrow a moment of his time and he wondered why this person could need his, of all peoples help. He hears her out and he gets closer to the daggers and looks at them for a second and then he looks at her arms his golden colored eyes scanning them like he is sizing them up compared to the daggers she had asked about.

He taps his chin then he looks the rest of the woman over. He then warmly speaks to the woman like an old friend. "With your build and how your arms muscular structure looks, daggers of this caliber should work well, though as I am unsure of your grip strength, I am not sure if you should be wielding it with such a soft fancy looking glove on it might slide out of your hand at the worst time." He turns back around and he keeps looking at some of the craftsmanship on some of the items and he wonders how much of it was stolen and sold here from Hargeon in the south or from the west out of Astera to fund crime lords in Hosenka.

He realizes that he was rude and didn't introduce himself, so he turns around and he looks at her and puts a hand out like he is requesting a handshake. "Sorry I rudely didn't introduce myself I am Emil, and who do I have the honor of speaking to?" He smiles and he wonders if she just randomly chose him or if he was chosen for a reason out of everyone.

My grip strength? I must say it is rather lacklustre….” It was quite simply not something Khorshid had ever had a need to improve, up until now. Until she had joined Paradise Dawn those handful of weeks ago, she had simply lived a normal life as a civilian. Now she was a mage true and proper though, one with demands placed upon her that perhaps exceed those of other guilds. After all, the likes of Fairy Tail and Blue Pegasus had not been established with the express purpose of fighting off titanic creatures that could sweep through towns like a child swept through toy blocks.

hah. You are worried my glove will throw off my combat ability? Worry not about that.” A lady had her secrets and Khorshid’s secret was not that dark or even that big a deal but it was a secret regardless. Her status as a cripple of a sorts was not something she wished to publicise to strangers, especially ones that could end up being an enemy. After all, this stranger? Khorshid knew not a single thing about them. Paranoia it may sound like but she wished not to reveal her secrets to potential enemies of her guild and, by extension, of herself.

That said, your insight and warning is appreciated…..hmmm? My identity….well I suppose there’s no harm in such a thing. I am Khorshid, Magus of the Desert lands and other things besides.” She swept up one of the daggers from the table and idly twirled it around in her gloved hand, displaying a level of confidence and dexterity at odds with the glove she wore. The blade danced between her fingers, before Khorsid attempted to suddenly press the blade into Emil’s chin. The masked mage used the very top of the weapon to lift up Emil’s head so she could stare deep into his eyes.

What’s life without a little danger…? Merchant? I do believe I will buy this creation. I rather happen to like it….ah you do happen to have a means to transport it I trust? A scabbard or some such?” And as swiftly as she had pressed the weapon into Emil’s chin, Khorshid pulled it back and presented it to the merchant of the stall, smiling her devious and devilish expression all the while. The merchant took the blade from Khorshid, as well as payment, and began to prepare her purchase; he even threw in some basic blade care equipment as a bonus.

Now….I know of your name but I know little of you. I do have some other purchases to make…would you be willing to indulge my whims and escort me Emil?” From devious and devilish to sweet and graceful, Khorshid ‘s expression shifted as she rested her gloved arm upon her hips.

He watched the woman let the blade dance around her hand and in her fingers like that he wondered if she was some sort of entertainer from a traveling group. Then when the knife went up under his chin he kept his tough guy look and he wondered if he had messed and meddled with the wrong woman and he was about to find out the hard way but he doesn't show her any fear in his face. He stopped himself from reaching up and maybe trying to disarm or attempt to break her arm from pulling such a move on him cause who wants a knife to their neck like this and he looks into her eyes as she moved him with the dagger.

He sighs when the woman removed the weapon from his neck and he watches her turn it on the shop keeper and he wondered if she was just off of her rocker or if she was some kind of thief or a sicko on the run for murdering people, but he guesses he can't judge her but he had already really done that when he looked her move for if he thought the dagger was a good fit her. He watched the merchant throw in extra stuff to probably try to bribe her not to come back and to thank her for not slitting his neck.

When the woman asked if he would indulge her whims and keep escort her. Emil wondered if his twin brother also had to deal with crazies like this with woman or if his curse is the perfect deterrent for keeping him out of this kind of place with people he meets. "I guess I don't have anything better to be doing." He decided it is better to keep an eye on her cause who knows if she will just stab him in the back if he refuses, so he begins escorting her to where ever she may seek to go.
