Yuurei

Yuurei had invited one of the new members within Paradise Dawn to meet with him. He figured he would do some training within the dome with them. The light mage figured that he would start training with other members of the guild, so that they can strengthen themselves in combat. It was not just that, but he would get to know them a bit more. The person he was getting to know today was Yori. A member within the guild, who seemed to not be fond of mages. On what he could recall it seemed like they hunted people with magical abilities, but Khalfani got them to join the guild and use that urge to go against monsters.

Still, he was in the training dome with his shirt off and Renji off to the side. He was in a safe spot where he would not be in the middle of any fighting going on. Yuurei was stretching and practicing his combat. He was doing his best to better himself in using his gauntlet and even bettering himself in close combat.

“So it seems like you been fighting with people a lot lately. Is it because you want to, or has it been the gauntlet effecting you?” He asked curious to hear what Yuurei would say.

“I just been trying to be better at fighting. I lost to Ansem and I don’t want to lose to him again. I got to make sure that I’m truly ready for him next time.” He said as he would continue to move around the dome and waiting for Yori.

It was around this same time every morning that Yori had awoken. The rays of sunshine peeking through his room's window seldomly allowed him any rest. "Tch... " As he twisted and turned, attempting to find a more comfortable spot, the adventurer fell face-first on the wooden floor. "AGH!... I'm up!" Instinctively, Yori popped up from the floor and assumed a fighting stance. He was wearing a black pair of boxers and a single sock with a hole on his left foot. Frantically, he searched the room to see if anyone had snuck in - ultimately finding no trace of entry.

"I need to install some blinds one of these days."

Moments later, there was a knock on the door. Admittedly, the sound had startled Yori due to the events that transpired prior. However, to his surprise, not a soul was waiting outside the door to greet him. Instead, what he had found was a note attached to the door. "Hm... odd." As Yori read the note, his eyes grew wide, and a grin appeared on his face. Supposedly, some big shot mage apart of the guild wanted to spar with yours truly. The adventurer could not be more pleased since this was the perfect chance to hone his skills; also learn from his weaknesses, and gauge the difference in their levels.

Da Dome

For a newly-established guild, Paradise Dawn was well off in the eyes of a commoner like Yori. It was not every day that you saw a gigantic dome-shaped training facility. The exterior appeared made out of durable material - most likely to withstand all types of damage. The interior was approximately 50 meters in diameter, with squeaky clean floors and gargoyle statues circling the dome's ceiling. Inside, the adventurer saw his opponent pacing back and forth.

Yuurei

Yuurei was moving around the dome, but soon he would come to a stop. He would feel someone looking at him and he would find his eyes locking eyes with Yori. The light mage would have a smile on his face as he was glad that he could make it to the dome.

“Hey there, you must be Yori. It’s nice to meet you, my name is Yuurei. I decided it was best to train with every member in Paradise Dawn and help them hone their skills, and figure out what they needed to work on.” He said to the man.

If he remembered correctly this guy was like Brone. They didn’t use magic, but it didn’t mean they were strong. He knew that much from his friend. Still, now that he was here, Yuurei would start stretching a bit before getting into a fighting stance. He had noticed that majority of his fight he was the one to run to his opponent. He kept himself on the ground as he would look at Yori to see what he would be able to do right now.

“Let’s begin.” He would tell Yori as he had a serious look on his face.

His arms up and ready to block, or parry if he needed to. He was about forty meters away from Yori. It would be quick for him to close the gap, but he did not.Β

The man before Yori did not seem especially strong for a renowned mage. His hair was a vibrant majestic white, and he looked relatively tall from a distance. As the adventurer made his way to the opposite side of his opponent, they began to introduce themselves. "Ah... so his name is Yuurei." Not that it had made any difference, Yori introduced himself to the mage. "Kuwahara Yori."

Yuurei had already begun to stretch the moment the adventurer had made his way around. Yori himself would have done the same if he had not already done so before coming here. There was a shift in the air as Yuurei focused himself - those electrifying blue eyes staring down at Yori. He responded adequately, tightening the grip around his spear and getting into a fighting position. A single sweat droplet rode down the side of Yori's face as he waited for the fight to initiate.

"Let's begin."

Yori needed to close the distance between him and his opponent, and it had seemed Yuurei had no intention of moving. The only option was to charge forth, spear in his right hand, and observe how Yuurei would react. The adventurer planned to wait for an opening to present itself.

Yuurei

Yuurei would watch him charge at him with possibly his entire speed. He noticed that he was moving slow, which was fine, for he figured that he might have invested his training elsewhere. He also saw that it might have to do with the heavy armor that was on him. It reminded him of Brone, which meant sooner or later he was going to be able to move quickly even with all that armor on him. He saw the spear in his hand as he was moving towards him. He would start moving back and forth as he didn’t want to get caught with his foot just pressed into the ground.

He had to be ready to move around and dodge or parry any of Yori’s incoming attacks. His arms were still up ready to do what he planned on doing last time. The Nephilim were giving him the opportunity to show him what he had to do.

It had taken Yori some time to reach Yuurei, which he had expected, considering all the heavy armor he was wearing. His movements were slow and predictable due to having not yet grown accustomed to the armor, so at least this battle would prove itself useful to that extent. The adventurer unleashed a fury of well-timed plunges at Yuurei - aiming to throw him off his balance. On the off chance his opponent evaded the barrage, Yori would connect his chain of attacks with a final diagonal slash of his spear.

After those intense attacks, Yori was sure to feel the pressure due to exerting his stamina. There was no moment to spare, for he could not even catch his breath. Yori pulled out his shield to defend himself from any incoming attacks from his opponent.

Yuurei

Yuurei would watch as Yori had finally gotten within range of his spear. The attacks would begin, which he was waiting for. The spear thrusts were precise indeed and he could see that Yori was putting a lot of power into each thrust. Yuurei would dodge the barrage of spear tips that came his way. His body moved side to side according to the next move of Yori’s next thrust. While he was doing this, he figured that it was indeed the armor he daunted that was slowing him down.

While it had come to an end, Yuurei would watch the last attack as it was a diagonal slash. He would jump back for the last attack as he would avoid the attack as he would straight toward Yori who was going for a defensive stance at the end of it all. Yuurei wanted to test the man’s defense now. If they were so heavy, then he would be able to take a hit, right? He would rush straight towards Yori, running at him to close whatever gap they had when he had leaped out of Yori’s spear distance. He would swing his right arm straight at the shield, attempting to shatter his spear but also continue his path to Yori’s chest and armor.

He was ready to block with his left hand as he didn’t underestimate his opponent, nor did he think lightly of his guildmates. Still, if things connected, Yori would not be hurt, but his shield and armor would be broken.

Yuurei

Yuurei would see his punch go through. The shield that was in front of him would meet its end, and soon after the armor that was on Yori. He would take them all out with one punch. He was intending for that to happen, but he wasn’t going to end it right there. He saw that the man before him didn’t move from where he was. It meant that it was time to attack once again. The light mage wondered if he felt fear or something that he wasn’t moving. Still, they were in the middle of a fight. He felt like it wasn’t fair, but he knew that he didn’t do this, then he would be right to fight and train others.

He would hope that this defeat for Yori would allow the man to grow. He would swing his left hand as quickly as he could now as he was bringing back his right hand to guard for any incoming attacks from him. It was going to be a quick blow and if he had gotten hit, then it would be lights out for him. He was aiming to hit him in his chest and put him at rest for the day.

“Fear is also a part of growing, and I hope it will make you stronger.” He said to Yori was his attack was making his way to the target.

Despite his effort, none of Yori's attacks connected to his target. It seemed as if the more and more he desperately tried to make contact, the easier it was for Yuurei to evade. "He's reading me like a damn book." His opponent moved with such grace that all he had seen were mere afterimages. Even the last chain of Yori's attacks proved fruitless against Yuurei's insane speed.

"As to be expected from a renowned mage..." Yuurei had given him no time to rest, instantly taking the offensive in the situation. With no time to react, all Yori could hope to do was take minimal damage with his shield. The weight of his opponent's swing caused the shield to protrude inwards before finally breaking through. Likewise, the adventurer's armor was within range of the attack.

Perhaps it was the aching of his bones or even shock that had made him unable to move, but Yori stood there as Yuurei delivered the final blow to his chest. As he fell to his knees, his consciousness fading, he heard his opponent speak.

"Fear my ass..."

Yuurei

Yuurei would see that he couldn’t defend himself from the attack. It was something he expected. Still, he could see potential in this guy. He would lose consciousness and Yuurei would hear his words. It would put a smile on his face as he had the confidence to be a strong person. The light mage would move towards him, and he would pick him up. He would come back for his items later to get them fixed. The berserker would put Yori on his shoulder as he would make his way to the infirmary.

When he got there, he would put him on a bed and the medical mage would look at Yuurei. It seemed like he was bringing in a lot of people here. It was weird, but at least they were alive. Now that he had brought Yori here, he figured he would move to his next destination, which was back to the training dome. He had to keep training as he wanted to better himself.

Yori had awoken from his unconscious state late afternoon. His memory was a bit hazy, but he could not possibly forget his crushing defeat. Every move he made came with immense soreness such that it pained him to even breathe. Yori glanced down at his lower half. Someone adorned him with bandages from head to toe. On his left, his spear that just barely made it out alive in that battle. Next to it was a small table with a note ontop of it.

"Your equipment is getting fixed. It's on me. - Yuurei"

Although Yori was relieved that he would not have to pay for his equipment to be repaired, he could not help but think what a weakling he was. In the face of real power, he was powerless. Nevertheless, the adventurer learned a lot from his battle with the mage. For example, his heavy loaded equipment is weighing down his speed or the realization that his defense could use some work.

Yori began to get deep into his thoughts, unintentionally giving himself a headache. "Agh... i'll think about this later."
