Ren was basking in the sun as he leaned on a big rock beside a river. It was nice. The birds were singing, the water were flowing, the winds breezed by, there was nothing more that Ren could ask for than the calmness and serenity of the world around him at that moment. He didn’t miss the sound of vehicles and merchants. The conflict and drama between silly beings that amount to nothing at the end of the day. Sometimes he wondered if he really belong with the other humans. Perhaps he was yet to find those who share the same values as him. Or perhaps he were more tuned towards mother nature than most humans are.
The wind picked up and rustled the trees. With it a few leaves followed the wind and soon fell back to the earth. One of them slowly drifted towards Ren. He reached out and the leaf fell onto his palm. He placed a part of the leaf in his mouth, folded in a way that enabled him to produce a tune out of it. Soon enough, he began to play a melody, filling in his role in the larger orchestra of the forest.
