She was strong but she needed jewels to become even stronger. This meant having to work, something she wasn't fond of but still what could she do? Dipping her hands into the work force that would fund her, she was given a simple task in killing some pest and collect whatever valuables were inside. It was in fact a very simple task and she would soon find herself walking through the city and towards a very run-down part of town. To Otsukimi this place didn't look worth the clean-up, but she wasn't the one paying money to have it cleaned out, so she put the thought out of her mind. Pushing past the overgrowth in front of the run-down building and forcing her way through the creaky door, Otsukimi began to cough a bit as dust entered her lungs as she nearly fell inside. The building had seen better days she was sure of it.

The building was dark, dusty, and damp. All the ripe conditions for an infestation if she ever saw one. Otsukimi could hear the scattering and scampering of the small rodents running amok. These rodents were unafraid of her presence, and they really should have been. The darkness didn't bother her, as her deamon blood gave her the ability to see in the darkness which meant she could see where they were coming from and where they were going. Walking further inside of the building she could feel the rats running over her feet causing her to kick and stomp at them. She didn't carry a weapon and didn't have any spells at the current moment so she would have to use her hands and feet to deal with these pests. She was truly disgusted at this fact but there was nothing she could do about it and a shower was a reward after she was done.

Closing the door behind her and killing the light outside and also the extra escape they would have had, Otsukimi began her work. Starting with the rats that ran over her feet she would stomp on them quickly until a messy paste of blood, guts, and rat bones were forming a puddle under her. She looked like she was in a wild dance and the rats began to see what was happening. Soon fewer rats were running across her feet as they realized that they were running into their deaths. A few brave rats tried to run up her legs, but she would quickly quick her legs out, the force of the action causing the rats to fly off of her body and onto either the floor or the wall where they would die upon impact due to the force. The more she stomped the more disgusted she was, but the number of rats decreased.

At some point she was starting to have a little too much fun stomping out rats, her dance became chaotic but soon she realized that there were no more rats coming towards her and she was just jumping around in a pool of rat blood. Though not the craziest thing she had ever done she knew she couldn't do that all day, so she began to seek out the little invasive bastards. Here and there she began to catch rats with her hands, chasing them around in the dark like some sort of wild cat. It was truly a spectacle for anyone who was lucky enough to catch it, but she knew it would only be her in here. The dying sounds of rats caused her to giggle as they sounded like distorted flutes. The pain screeches turned to music in her ears. Those that were lucky escaped but not all were lucky.

Otsukimi, through all that pest killing had noticed that some rats were leaving through a very specific area. It didn't take long for her to figure out that this is where they came from in the first place. She made note of the area and moved her extermination closer and closer to the area until she came to a back room with a long hallway that had a door at the end. This room had far more rats than the bigger area in the front of the building. Her disgust turned into annoyance as she thought to herself that this building would have been better off burned to the ground and rebuild. The land was good, and the area was fine, but this building couldn't have been worth all this damn trouble. Taking in a deep breath she made her way through the hallway, killing every rat she came across.

It was hard to remember anything before her demon lord. Every time she tried a pain would rip through her body and cloud her mind so badly that she would pass out. Eventually Otsukimi would stop trying to remember and because she hadn't come into contact with something or someone that would bring up any old memories or feelings of such, she was able to continue through life with ease in her current form. Even still she had only been back in Earthland for a week and though she knew she had a life before the one she lived she didn't dig into it. Walking down the hallways and crushing any rat that came across her until she got to the door at the end, she noticed that even more rats were outside, but they made a path that had enough rat traffic to trample the grass down. It was so bad that the grass turned from green to yellow, probably do to rat piss.

The little rat path led out of town to a thicket of grass and bushes with a little trickle of a stream near it all. It smelled horrible and soon she was standing near a tunnel that led down into the sewers of the city. Of course, this is where all those damn rats were coming from. Rats usually came for food though, so it was a question that invaded her mind on why they wanted to be in a run-down building. Otsukimii didn't remember smelling food so she didn't understand why they would just go to that building specifically. Her mind mulled over it all as she killed a few more rats and headed back to the building where she closed off the opening's that the rats were coming in from. It should be enough to stop them for the time being and that's all they wanted in all honestly, because of course it was.

With the patching up of the many holes and the area where the rats were getting in, it was onto the next task of this little job. Looking around the building starting with the floor she was on, Otsukimi was told that there were valuable goods here. If the goods here were so valuable, then she would take them for herself. It was a simple matter to lie about it and who was going to make sure that she didn't take whatever was laying around? Looking through the many boxes she would kill whatever rat found their way into them and inspect the goods. Some boxes had jewelry and gems; others had silks that were a little damaged but nothing beyond repair. Otsukimi smiled to herself and began taking things from the crates and some chest. This would put more money in her pocket as she took the things back to the guildhall in her room, bit by bit.

Each trip back to the run-down building came with more rat killings. Having not check upstairs for rats she found more up there than when she first came in downstairs. Of course, she was annoyed because she would have to deal with more blood and guts, but them were the breaks and she had to deal with it...For now anyway. Doing jobs like these for money was so beneath her but at the same time she understood that she needed to abide by the rules of this land until she was strong enough that wealth wasn't a problem for her. Kicking, crushing, smashing, punching, squishing, and scaring the rats to death was just plan tedious but the more she did it the less rats there were and the closer her job was to complete. Soon she began to make a game out of it, every ten rats killed was one point and making it to one hundred points was the name of the game, bonus points for style killings.

With the game begun the rats were in big trouble but for whatever reason these upstairs rats were not afraid, and they attacked her. Otsukimi was of course surprised and unsurprisingly happy because now killing them would be a little less boring. It was more or less the same though, rats only had so much intelligence and let's be honest they weren't going to win against her no matter how many of the bit, scratched, and clawed their way onto her. They didn't realize their power in numbers before she started her massacre so she wasn't worried if they were going to overrun her, and since she blocked off the entrance for more to come, she could clean house. One by one the rats died, and she was eve lucky enough to find a few nests of the little bastards. Stomping the nursing baby rats and their mother was oh so satisfying with the only sounds being their squeals and scampers. It was delightful and she was already up about fifty points.

With that realization Otsukimi feared that she would run out of rats before she made it to the one-hundred-point mark of her game. Now that was a fairly depressing thought to have but she didn't let it stop her. As she killed rats she checked crates, some had art, others more precious stones and some had bottles of wine and liquor which she knew would fetch a pretty penny. When the rat population got low, she would collect the loot she found and begin to transport it back to her room at the guildhall. It was such a pain in the ass trip, but her pockets would be fatter for it, and who didn't love more money. Through all her working the sun began to set slowly and she knew she had to quickly finish up this task if she wanted to get paid before nightfall. And night was coming far more quickly than she thought.

How could one place have so many rats. It just didn't make sense. The area this building was in wasn't even that great. With a stomp another rat under her foot met a grim and deadly fate. Honestly, she was doing these pests a favor by killing them this quickly, this painlessly, because if she were feeling truly sadistic, they would be dying a lot slower. The thought crossed her mind, a little voice whispered do it and Otsukimi went from quick disposal to slow torture. Grabbing two mice and sitting cross-legged on the cold, dark, floor that was damp with blood, a slow smile came onto her face. The rats squealed in her hands wanting to break free, but she would not let them go. Moving them about as if they were dolls, she said something in a language that was clearly not of this world before slowly smooshing the rat's heads together.

The rats didn't die, of course they didn't, she wouldn't let them they. The closer they got as Otsukimi pushed them together, the more the pain intensified. Soon both hands were around both rats as they were slowly being squeezes to death until a satisfying " pop " caused their insides to burst and their guts to spill outside. With a cackle and a chuckle, she cracked something like a joke to herself before throwing the rat bodies outside of a window and looking for more rats to basically torture. One rat she did a very normal limb pulling. She was careful as she pulled the limbs so they would break but the skin would stay attached making the rat look longer than it was. For the most part it stayed alive, that is until she got to pulling the neck. Of course, the neck was the hardest part, her goal was to stretch the rat while still keeping it alive, but she saw that it was too much as the rat went limp in her hand.

The sun at this point in time was nearly set, with only peaks of rays warning folks of the coming night. Looking around the place Otsukimi could see that her job was done and that they never asked for a clean job just for rats to be gone. Standing up she looked around for more things to loot. She would find a sword, some daggers, and a few glass spheres that she was sure was worth something to someone. It was a good haul and on top of the payment she'd get from this job she would make a bit more selling whatever from this haul of items. The rat population was down but quite alot and as she made her way out of the building, she'd find a few more that she would just kill on her way out. Some of them she kicked, some of them she threw repeatedly against the wall practically painting it with its blood while others were just stepped on. At this point she was caked head to toe in rat blood, guts, bones, and whatever else came out of the damned things. She had been through much worse so this was nothing for her as she could very well clean this off of her skin.

Before she dragged her body to collect her pay for a job well done, Otsukimi dragged her body back to the guild hall and into her room. She wasn't going to sit around in this muck all day and she rather be clean when presenting herself to the masses. Passing by the people with no faces in her guild and going up into her room, she stripped naked and ran a hot shower. Grabbing a loofa and some soap she began to scrub herself down. If there was one thing, she missed greatly about living in Earthland, one thing she could not forget, was how good it was to bathe and shower herself. The hot water stripped the muck off of her and the sweet-smelling soap left her skin feeling squeaky clean. Her hair was next to be washed and she was thankful that she kept it short as it was easier to wash. Once she was all clean, she soaked in a bathtub full of warm water and rose oil. Once clean she got dressed in some fresh clothes and reported to the client, letting him know that the area was clear of rats but there was no loot unfortunately. The client though upset about not having any loot was still happy no rats were left and promptly paid Otsukimi.
