The thief was flabbergasted as Lily turned toward him, the sight of her mysterious eyes making him stagger backwards in disbelief. "W-wait a second, aren't you part of that crew that terrorized the Beef Brothers last time they tried to raid a store?!" That was an odd name for a gang. But Lily certainly wasn't going to wait. She dashed toward the man's side, pulling a leg behind him to make him stagger and collapse onto the ground while she pointed her dagger at him. "I give up... please don't kill me!" The man retorted, as at the same time the door to the shop opened and the Rune Knights entered.
"Seems she was right men, arrest these thieves and take them in for questioning." The other knights nodded at the command of their superiors as they started to pick up the fallen thugs and dragged them out of the store. Meanwhile their leader approached Lily and her Exceed and smiled at her. "Excellent job, thanks to your interference they weren't able to steal anything today." Lily nodded her head gently at these words of praise.
"I also was in contact with the owner of the store. He told us to give you this pouch as part of your payment agreement. He also wanted to express his gratitude and made it clear he was quite impressed at the good work you did today."
Lily nodded her head once more, thanking the knight as he handed her the pouch with the jewels and then left the store with her Exceed. It was odd. Whenever she was exposed to combat she felt... different, as if she was becoming an entirely different person once she wielded her dagger. It made her wonder, was such a thing even possible? And if so, wasn't that a very dangerous thing to experience? But for now she was going back to the inn to enjoy a nice long sleep, something she certainly deserved!
