LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS
Nana had made astounding progress as a member and fellow nightmare of the guild she was part of. While outsiders called them members of Eternal Nightmare, the guild members typically referred to themselves and others as actual nightmares. One of those nightmares would be with Nana on this quest today. He was a fellow that Nana had known for quite some time. A reliable sort, if not a bit reserved or quiet at times. Other times he could be outspoke. The two of them had not met up for the quest yet. nana had been traveling all over Fiore and even further south, challenging powerful mages in various ways. Akeno had been present by pure coincidence on one of those fights. It was a huge misunderstanding, but that had only been cause to give Nana a reason to attempt to kill someone. A werewolf to be exact- one she didn't know about at the time. The white beast had proved to be too powerful at the time and had knocked Nana unconscious. Akeno had been the one to carry her back to the Luluhawa resort area to recuperate. Since then, the two of them hadn't spoken about the event, but Nana had worked even harder to strengthen herself. Next time, would be quite different. Nana would arrive at the church in Oak first. She wouldn't go inside yet, but weight for her nightmare ally to show up first. She wore her customary black extravagant dress. Slit at the waist to allow a sexy view of her long legs. Golden locks of hair easily reached passed her waist. Purple iridescent eyes gazed out at the empty plains that surrounded the chuck, with a layer of trees on the outer edge. Nana was tall compared to most women, standing five foot ten inches. Her hourglass figure and womanly charms barely contained within her black dress. Her obscene bosom stretched at the fabric of the dress, daring to give form to her breasts through the chest of the dress and her cleavage the only truly visible part of her upper torso through the dress' opening. Her skin was buttery smooth and a pale creamy color, which indicated the utmost care and avoiding sunburns. Today she stood in the sun, but only slightly. She leaned against the wall of the church, allowing the overhanging shadow of the church's steeple to grace her form with a modicum amount of reprieve from the sun's unforgiving rays. She was a daemon and the light was as much an enemy of her race, as it was to her delicate skin. Despite her almost divine beauty, her personality was quite the opposite. Her gaze was almost dead. Her arms crossed beneath her bosom across her chest and she remained motionless, doll-like. She would remain this way until her ally Akeno would approach her. A wicked smile would suddenly flash across her face as she addressed him, Spur her companion shyly glancing at the massive man from its perch on her shoulders, grasping her golden hair for support. "Ready to kill the dead?" she would ask the man as her gaze looked up to his massive form. It was a humorous question, as the dead had already died once or more. Yet some continued to come back, haunting certain places. Like this 'holy' church. WC-554 WC Total-554

LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS
Nana had waited quite awhile for her ally and fellow guild member. She had taken a lesser quest for the purpose of testing her ally, Akeno. This quest was beneath her but she had decided it was important to cultivate her guild mates' potential for future endeavors. Akeno was apparently late for their meeting however, and by no small margin either. The daemon woman had waited a full hour in passing, but he had not shown himself. Nana bit her lip in a small amount of frustration. She couldn't be too mad about it, Akeno was a capable man and had even helped her once in a dire confrontation with a white werewolf. I wonder what happened to him. Well... I'm sure he wouldn't kick the bucket so easily. I'll just do this quest by myself and scold him the next opportunity that I see him. She thought to herself with a small indulgent smile WC-155 WC Total-709/1500

Now that the tall daemon woman was certain that her lower ranked guild companion would not be coming alone, she turned her attention to the 'holy' church- a physical location that supposedly embodied deities. To Nana's knowledge, the only thing that manifested at this place, was restless spirits. Evil spirits even. One could even say that this was an unholy church due to being built atop a labyrinth of catacombs. Burial chambers for the deceased which never seemed to stay dead for too long. Nana turned away from her waiting position and pushed the heavy wooden doors open with ease. The smooth wooden of the old exquisite doors took not offense to her delicate fingers. If she had wished, she could have easily snapped the door from its hinges and toppled it to the ground. That would not be satisfying however, nor would it be endearing to her client. Her goal was to raise her infamy, but not in a way that would deter potential clients. WC-166 WC Total-875/1500

Speaking of clients, the daemon's client was int he midst of a prayer for another individual. They were not visibly seen, but their voices could be heard from nearby- a small wooden cloister for confessions and prayers. A private matter. No doubt it was one of the locals who believed in a higher power whom guided their pointless and insignificant existence. Of course Nana believed in higher beings, but not an omnipotent sort. The beings she referred to however, were more akin to demi-humans or a step closer to divinity. Namely seraphims and demons, or even devils. Beings that existed outside of the mortal realm or even Fior'e earthland itself. A resemblance could be said for the current invaders from a dark universe. Although they were technically the same people as several of the famous or infamous current mages, they were arguably stronger. Nana leaned against a nearby wall, thinking about her teacher's recollect of a dark universe khalfani. WC-159 WC Total-1,034/1500

This Khalfani was no longer around. Possibly she had died to her mirrored dark universe self. Perhaps she had gone through one of those dark universe portals and could no longer return. The possibilities seemed endless, maddening even if one tried to get to the bottom of it. To Nana however, Khalfani had simply stopped existing. Living or dead, it was inconsequential to the daemon woman. She dismissed those thoughts as her ears picked up on the raspy voices of silent prayers, an ending to the priest's role as mediator. Moments later, the doors opened and a woman exited one of the stalls. Across from this stall, the priest exited as well- visibly pleased as if he had saved that woman's soul. Nana was not so certain. Surely she would be in here the next day or maybe even next week to confess the same of similar 'sin'. The man turned to the small motion Nana made and his wide smile quickly diminished. Nana was the closest thing to a pure evil entity that could be found anywhere in Fiore or beyond. Demon blood and an equally wicked personality. Even if she did remain indifferent most of the time. She was always quick to cruelty and violence. WC-207 WC Total-1,241/1500

LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS
The elderly religious man tried to not think too deeply into the current affairs. His place of holiness was defiled beneath its very grounds by restless spirits, some evil, some good and some indifferent or confused. To compound the matter in its morality choices, the very mage he had hired to cleanse the church's burial grounds was none other than the very wicket woman before him. Even the way she dressed and presented herself was provocative. Yet despite her infamous deeds and reputation, he could not deny that she was very beautiful. If he didn't know already that she had demon blood, he would have guessed that she was divinity, a seraphim maybe. "You are late." he would say pointedly to alter the course of his mind to avoid any indiscretions. "I thought there would be two of you today." he would say again, pointedly at the lack of the large burly Akeno. WC-153 WC Total-1,394/1500

Neither of the priest's provocations bothered Nana. It was a common occurrence. Despite his reliance on her and other mages to solve his problems instead of his god, he was always keen to voice his displeasures in one way or another. For Nana, it was essentially nitpicking at every aspect about her as if he wished she would not exist to defy his very precepts. Rather than being angry at the man, Nana saw it as entertaining. Simply existing put strain on this religious man's faith. Every word or action that was spiteful towards her was a joy to her, knowing that she uneased this man and got a negative reaction out of him. It would have been unbearable otherwise, a pious man whom accepted her despite her demon blood and atrocious actions. Laughable. "Old man.. You and I both know that it doesn't take two nightmares to deal with your.... problems." she would say at a length, to which only reignited the priest's agitation. WC-165 WC Total-1,559/1500

Despite his displeasures and worries in the situation, he could not refute the statement the heretical woman made. He saw it all as a trial from his god, to question his loyalty with the intent of making him more fervent in his faith. He didn't bother responding to her however. He instead went about his business of relighting candles and cleaning off seats that the residents had left laying about. Mostly trash of course. Though no verbal consent was given, Nana knew this man could not refuse her help. Even if it was just her and not Akeno as well. While the priest went about tidying the church itself, Nana went around back to the crypt entrance to begin her own tidying. Several shadow figured roamed about the dimly lit tunnels. Some meandered pointlessly about. Others seemed to chase others as if enjoying the torment. There were both good and bad spirits, but there were only a few of them this time. Four to be exact. LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS
This would be an easy task. Only one of the spirits seemed evil. The other three seemed harmless and even approached Nana, begging for her help in various things. Finding lost relatives, personal belongings or even denying their own deaths with lies to themselves. Denial. "Yes yes... I know. I'll make things better for all of you." she would say gently but with a wicked smile across her lips. The foolish spirits did not understand her intent, but they took solace in her words. The only spirit that seemed to understand her, was the evil spirit which lurked nearby. A single glance from her told the spirit that it was also okay. A gleeful laughter escaped its shadowy lips as it moved closer and latched onto the three good spirits one at a time. It devoured them whole, their very essence. With each spirit it consumed, it grew larger and more confident while near Nana. WC-155 WC Total-1,880/1500

LIONS AND TIGERS AND DRAGONS
The three good spirits had tried to run away, but they could not. Wishing to be whole again, these four spirits had manifested physically as shadowy entities. Nana forcibly held the three good spirits in place, pushing the spirits one at a time to the evil spirit to be devoured. She did this repeatedly, ignoring the pleas and wails of the terrified spirits. Dealing with them all individually was too much of a bother. It would be easier to deal with the evil spirit alone once it had its fill. Despite having devoured the three spirits, the evil spirit was still ravenous. Consuming the others had imparted the evil entity with a fair amount of magical power, enough now to no longer feel threatened by Nana's presence. It turned on her, fully intending to bear down and devour the haughty woman for her hubris. "Aahahaha-" it began to laugh, shaking the very walls of the catacombs. WC-156 WC Total-2,036/1500

The initial laughter would be all it was allowed. As it had turned to Nana and began to laugh in glee, the daemon woman's two magical guns suddenly appeared in her hands. magic circles appeared around the barrel tips of the guns and she pulled the triggers point blank into the spirit's head and chest. The sheer impact and volume of magic that she struck the spirit with, eviscerated its hold on the physical realm and evaporated its shadowy body in two bursts of intense and excruciating pain. "Enjoy your meal." she would say in a light tone before having her guns disappear and made her way outside of the darkness. The priest had felt the ground shaking and wished to question her, but she held up her hand to stay his questions. "I fed the spirits to one another and then destroyed them all at once." she would say as an explanation, to the priest's very horror. He had not told her to not do something so vile after all.
