General Name: Maël Vaillancourt Age: 24 (October 1st X780) Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Ethnicity, Father: Minstreli Ethnicity, Mother: Minstreli Class: Spellhowler Race: Human Rank: D-rank Guild: Collective Mind Tattoo: Left Buttocks, Dark Red Face: Alhaitham - Genshin Impact Appearance Height: 6'4" Weight: 185 lb Hair: White Eyes: Green Overall: Maël is a tall man with a handsome face and bright green eyes. His hair is a dyed white and styled in a somewhat odd fashion, though it would be more accurate to say it simply falls that way. While he is not overtly muscular, Maël is incredibly toned and lack much body fat giving him a look that seems far stronger than he actually is. Maël is rather averse to proper plates of armor, often refusing to wear anything that is too heavy or hard to move around in - while he is fashionable, comfort is of the utmost priority for him. Extra: N/A Personality Personality: Maël presents himself in a rather cool and collected manner, rarely ever cracking up under pressure or seeming too excited - though exceptions to this do obviously exist. His sense of humor is about as dry as it could be and he rarely ever shows an intensely emotional side. Regardless of this very cool nature he seems both genuinely kind at heart and perhaps too interested in women for his own good, sometimes forsaking these qualities of him in front of a pretty face. Maël is a scientist at heart, though he has no real specialization or specific goal: he is incredibly scatterbrained, often switching his interests whenever one thing begins to bore him too much. He becomes deeply absorbed in his areas of fascination, often gaining a great deal of knowledge about them quickly, but will usually just abandon pursuing said field just as he is on the cusp of greatness. Maël often chooses to look for non-combative solutions to problems, though this is usually do to a morbid sense of curiosity than any aversion to fighting. Curiosity is in fact the core driving principle behind his entire personality: much of what he does is purely to answer the question "What if?". This has obviously led him into some questionable alleyways, with some of his questions seeming rude, some of his actions seeming morally dubious and some of his research seeming taboo - while his heart is indeed kind, the occasional itch of discovering something can make Maël overlook certain things... it just takes the right mental gymnastics. History History: Maël's hometown was a small town in the northern edges of Minstrel, often consumed by snowstorms during one half of the year due to a unique placement along a certain mountain range. His father was a merchant and his mother was the town's doctor, and both of them were rather keen on persuading Maël to follow their own trade as opposed to their counterpart's. Of their 4 children Maël was perhaps the only one to possess any sort of actual promise, with his 2 older sisters and older brother all ending up slackers who grew content with slacking off and doing simple jobs in the countryside they lived in. Maël always seemed much more ambitious, dreaming of travelling the outside world. Eventually his mother won out, Maël deciding to study medicine. He was to attend a medicinal school in Fiore thanks to some family connections. He grasped the language rather quickly and enjoyed his time learning about the ways you could treat someone. All went mostly well, until his senior year. Maël was told that his thesis project was far too controversial to be allowed. Maël, believing that his research would most likely be revolutionary, became rather angry at this. What right did they have to completely deny research that would not only benefit the world, but also seemed relatively harmless? What was so controversial about it? Some digging into the subject led Maël to learn that his research conflicted with the interests of a large shipping company who had ties to both the government of Fiore as well as his university. Outrages, Maël decided to resign from his university despite the fact he would have had a doctorate should he stuck around for just 2 more months. After that he became an independent researcher, until he eventually learned of a guild which interested him... Reference: I'M ZANE!!!! Z A N E!
