#1Shinzo Satoshi

An Evening by the Sea (Open) Empty Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:08 pm

Shinzo Satoshi
Buried inside of the ships storage unit Shinzo laid like a corpse. For the vampire travel was often a delicate subject, and he often just hid himself among corpses when he could. On this occasion he was sailing EarthLink in a big, steel ship; and he was packed in its storage unit with dozens of other dead bodies.

Before Shinzo left Palal, the city where he had been residing, he had been fortunate to sit in a smoking den with a wizard. The woman was kind and inviting, offering Shinzo a simple smoke at first, then as the conversation got deeper and she discovered Shinzo was a wizard she offered him something much more mystical than a cigar. The woman told Shinzo about a far away land, Talaz Lagaar, where technology was amazing and the land operated in a much different way than Fiore.

At first Shinzo wasn't that impressed. The vampire blew smoke out of his nose and mouth together, half listening to a story that didn't seem fancy enough for his noble blood. Until she began to tell the wizard about the Rings of A'dem.

According to legends these rings were mighty technology pieces coveted by doctors around the world. The rigs were said to read one's heart rate and give an accurate explanation of one's health through their bloods pressure.

The woman wanted these rings. All of them. Or at least one. She offered Shinzo a bold amount of money for just one of the rings. Shinzo had little choice but to accept. He was after all well attuned to the flow of money.

Shinzo worked as a wizard for primarily wealth. Study, practice and opportunity were all well and fine, but he needed a more finite reward. Something that satisfied him was often elusive, but with spending money the exchange of cash for happiness was quite simple.

After the contract was signed Shinzo pulled his map out for the woman to mark the proper path for him to take to the appropriate harbor. Shinzo already knew he would coffin surf across the sea, he just had to properly estimate how many nights it would take him to get to the harbor. Once he was there it was a simple matter of exchanging the contents of a coffin with himself.

Shinzo was crafty in getting around and truthfully hated traveling.

After a long wait on the boat Shinzo opened his eyes for the first time in weeks. Shinzo could see through the dirt that it was night time outside, and he opened his ears. He could hear people walking and talking in his direction. Shinzo wondered if he had slept through the docking of the ship.

That wasn't unheard of, he didn't exactly sleep after all. Shinzo couldn't sleep, his undead mind didn't have a separation of consciousness like sleep depended on. Instead vampires used magic to hypnotize themselves and enter a torpor, a deep slumber in which the vampire projects its body in the Astral world. Much like dreaming the vampire can experience Astral existence in these torpor.

Shinzo moved on from wondering and focused his super hearing on the next series of foot steps nearby.

"CLUNK-tsht." Someone's boots knocked on the ground. Instantly Shinzo gauged the distance of the sound. He figured they were at least ten yards away, and in another room. Shinzo gently pressed open the coffin he was hiding in.

The boats storage unit was filled with corpses destined for Talaz Lagaar, lined up in their coffins. There were a few oil lamps lit and a bunch of spider webs covering the low set ceiling. Shinzo crouched down and inched his way to the door, positioning himself behind it.

The vampire waited, careful to be ready for the mortals if they entered the coffin room. They didn't. Shinzo waited for hem to get far away and then made his way out of the ship.

Once Shinzo made it out of the ship there wasn't anything to worry about. It was night time, the streets were thick with travelers and he was just a normal vampire walking along. It was hard to tell he was a vampire in fact. His pointed ears and pale skin gave him away, and those fangs. But at a distance it was unnoticeable. Shinzo walked along the street.

The vampire had to satiate his hunger. Shinzo hadn't fed in weeks and his pains had grown stronger while he rested his body in a torpor.

There were street lights lining the road Shinzo was walking down. Stars were unusually absent in the city sky, but there was a rumbling from all the pounding machinery in the city that excited the soul in the same way. Shinzo walked hastily but he couldn't help but be thankful for the starless night.

Once he found someone to feed on he would be able to continue his quest. Shinzo hoped to find the Rings of A'dem quickly, and get back home to Fiore. He was worried all the street lights would make it hard to find someone to feed on.

He wasn't looking for just anyone either. Shinzo fed strictly on women. He was no Romeo and he wasn't looking for a Juliet. Shinzo was a predator and liked to stalk women who walked home late at night. For as dangerous as the streets were he was always fortunate to find a foolish lass out there.

Shinzo knew tonight would be no different.

Wearing his black leather jacket Shinzo had his bare chest showing, and there were bright white scars fleshed out of his body. Shinzo had a red silk lining on the jacket, and as he walked through the street he looked cool. Shinzo wore black denim, and baker boots. His wallet was chained to his belt loop, and it jingled as Shinzo walked through the streets.

#2Da’ncha’see'i

An Evening by the Sea (Open) Empty Wed Apr 26, 2023 8:38 am

Da’ncha’see'i
Da'ncha'see'i had found himself in Grand Harbor for a bit of time now. A month, maybe a little bit more. To say that the task at hand in aiding the people of Talaz Lagaar in their troubling time had been anything but easy and simple so far. The only thing that the hidden werewolf could do so far was go from clinic to clinic aiding in the medical treatment of people's diseases and conditions. No medic or magical healer by even the smallest notes, Da'ncha'see'i was pretty much a nurse. Following orders and directions, soothing scared and in pained individuals. Leaning little nuggets and golds of medical information, scientific details, and social concerns day by day. But mostly...he was just practicing his bed side manners.

Heh. A good thing he already wore a mask. He fit right in with staff!

But after a long hard day the night was on. And  Da'ncha'see'i exited one of the many clinics he had grown to be a frequent aid in over the last month in the search of duty. And answers.
