The Pen is Mightier With countless dying from the plague, many Talaz Lagaar citizens seek to become Machias hoping to overcome their fragile fleshy frames. Despite the impossibility of large scale conversion, many support Professor Braun in his efforts to streamline the Machias transformation, creating the Third Movement, a terrifying organization that focused on transhumanism believing that flesh was just a cage while machines who gained sentience could never have a soul, putting them at odds with the Robot Separatists, those fighting for robot emancipation who all but worship One like their prophet. Both of these factions are in turn opposed by the Talaz Lagaar Loyalists, the traditionalist artificers who've ruled the island since time immemorial, and made it their duty to protect the rest of the world from the reckless use of knowledge too advanced for mortal minds, by isolating themselves from the world. As tensions boiled, these three factions leave Talaz Lagaar on the brink of war, as the three factions seek support from other countries. Disgruntled about the prospect of war, the coastal countries of Fiore, Bosco, Minstrel and Joya around Talaz Lagaar begin to pressure the three groups into signing a peace treaty before the conflict has even started. Unimpacted by the potential environmental havoc caused by the ensuing conflict, foreign countries continue to leverage their own support, prompting greater disputes internationally as some seek peace while others support what will become a civil war. Coastal neighbouring countries no longer friendly with the three factions, members may interact with diplomats from distant countries. Successful support from these countries occur as a consequence of four driving influences, the nationality and swiftness of the individual seeking support, the relative strength of the faction and the political stance of the country itself. Listed below are the leaning supported groups if not swayed in a different direction. Countries who are not interacted with or treated poorly when interacting with a diplomat will negatively impact all of the factions implementing sanctions across all of Talaz Lagaar. All across the world, people begin to join factions representing the potential pathways Talaz Lagaar, each with their own motives for influencing the direction of Talaz Lagaar. The overall number and strength of members who join these groups is ultimately irrelevant moreso the overall diplomatic and strategic efforts that are done by the group. Event Conditions

Talaz Lagaar Loyalists Led by Grand Arbiter Steve, the loyalists seek the return of the country's Isolationist Policies after seeing the damaging outcomes that opening the country had to its people and the region's coveted artifacts. In their moment of weakness and desperation, they opened the gates to Talaz Lagaar to seek aid abroad when facing the plague, but that in turn allowed the other factions to escape their control, and potentially dangerous knowledge. The Talaz Lagaar loyalists may be dogmatic in their approach, but many of them do have the world's best interests at heart. Their technology must remain hidden until the world at large is prepared for it, and throughout the ages they've abided by this principle. Most countries with traditionalistic governments support this faction, as do those who are distant enough form Talaz Lagaar that they'd simply prefer to uphold the status quo. Joining them will provide members with citizenship of the country assuming they are victorious against the other factions allowing them to be considered equal with those born and bought to the country through scholarships. Loyalists will respect the sense of responsibility demonstrated by allies who understand and support their cause. Support

Robot Seperatists A Pro-Robot rights Group who seek their own independence from their current rulers, fighting in the hopes to remove the hidden shackles that bind their robot brothers and sisters, these robot separatists are a unique kind of race who strive for their own place in Earthland whether its Talaz Lagaar or somewhere else they don’t care. The plague in Talaz Lagaar enabled the robots to claim a newfound level of prominence, as their mechanical nature allowed them to go where mere mortals could not. In an act of defiance and self preservation beyond his programming, One fled Talaz Lagaar as the borders opened, and this rebellion spurred his fellow robots into action. Though most robots belong to this faction, many beings from other races sympathize with their cause, especially those who are familiar with oppression, and being treated as slaves or second class citizens. People from countries with a history of opposing slavery frequently support this faction first and foremost, as well as neighbouring countries who worry of a conflict between people and robots. They wish for equality for Robots, and are willing to fight for it if cooperation proves impossible. Support

Third Movement A transhumanist Group that is overseen by Professor Braun who believes themselves above both man and machine while they believe in converting as many people are possible this process is both voluntary and pain-free. With the borders of Talaz Lagaar opening in this time of need, Professor Braun seized his chance to spread his ideals to other nations, while simultaneously seeking aid from like minded individuals. Regardless of the mayhem at home, Professor Braun will convert anybody who catches their eye, hoping to use those people as a living display of his successful procedure, and that way entice others to attempt it in turn. Unlike the Talaz Lagaar loyalists, Professor Braun doesn't believe in keeping the borders closed. Instead, he dreams of a world where people and machines can become one and the same, and this transformation should begin in his country. Once people transcend the boundaries of flesh, they will no longer need to eat or drink to survive, and as such war and conflict will become one and the same: everybody will be able to work for the common good. People accustomed to living in harsh, inhospitable environments tend to support his faction, as do those whose culture values knowledge and research, either impressed by Braun's brilliance or the potential of his technology. Those who support him will be admired as fellow visionaries, regardless of whether or not they choose to become a Machia themselves. Support

Freelancers Even with Talaz Lagaar at the brink of war, many people do not see themselves in either of the factions. They don't care for the reckless selfrighteousness of the robot separatists, the conceited narrowmindedness of the Loyalists, or the unrealistic idealism of the Third Movement. This faction includes pacifists wishing to stay out of the conflict, mercenaries wishing to profit from it, or anything inbetween. Those who support this faction would much prefer if none of the neighbouring countries take sides in the conflict, but much to their chagrin, all of them have some investment in Talaz Lagaar. As such, freelancers would work for all the factions equally or talk the various countries into neutrality. Those who prefer their independence may choose to become freelancers during the event itself, which allows them to participate on most of the side quests as normal regardless of faction, however, this prevents them the individual from receiving any faction-oriented modifiers, unique faction access, or reward from a particular faction winning.
