As he walked the streets of Orchidia, a scent caught his eye...erm... nose. It was a pleasant baking sort of scent.
Its not that he was hungry, but he was curious to see where it came from. Was there some market stall that sold bakeries. He went to investigate. Following it, he realized the scent did not come from some stall, but from the apartments area. Noticably, one that was left half open with an elderly lady inside.
The woman noticed him and invited him in. Which merely confused him. Why on earth would someone do that. But he shrugged and humoured the woman who invited him for a cup of tea.
She soon introduced herself as Rynah Noran.
He closed the door properly once he was at her place. And the elderly lady started suddenly sharing a rather lengthy and nostalgic story about how she raised her son Mitya.
Tamas honestly didnt really care, so he was lucky he was full clad in armour, which means, yes he did not take off his helm to drink tea. Or whenever he would, he would raise it a bit and turn his head away from the lady, masking his appearance
But his attention turned back to her as she broke into tears as she got emotional and keeps telling him how close the two were
She even went as far to ask him for help. To write the son a letter, asking him not to send her to a retirement home. Tamas nodded and agreed, because like... what else can he do? Can one really reject a crying old lady. While he had vague or little to no memories of his childhood or actual family. For some reason, he doesnt remember his grandmother in a positive light. Its a gut feeling he's getting.
Anywho, he would get the paper and a pen and he would start writing. Tamas would ask rather politely or neutral for the lady to tell him something. As he listened to her, he would start filling the letter with anecdotes that the she would share. After which he would ask where this Mitya is.
Upon learning where Mitya is. He would go to the bar. And Tamas being... well Tamas, he wasnt really known for emotional depth and empathy and just being senstivie. Instead like a brick wall or bulldozer or a robot. He'd just arrive and ask "Is there a Mitya here?"
"Yes? Hello? I am Mitya. Can I help you?"
Tamas walked over to the guy and showed the letter onto him.
"From Rynah Noran"
He watches as Mitya reads the letter and suddenly breaks into tears as well
"Like mother like son it seems" he thinks to himself when he sees Mitya crying and storming off to the apartments
Anywho Tamas follows Mitya, since he was too involved, he might as well see this through.
He arrives just in time as he sees mother and son sharing a rather touching looking moment. It seems the two reconciled whatever their issues were. Not that Tamas really knew or cared. It might be cold of him, but he kind of only half listened to the lady. So he didnt really know her exact woes.
He listens as Mitya explains that he only wanted to send her to the retirement home because it is a much better environment than the dank apartments.
"Ah, so that was the dilemma" again he made a mental note
He'd witness the care filled discussion that ensues as they try to convince each other what is the better option or such. Mitya soon notices that Tamas is still there, sort of just awkwardly standing and staring
Mitya approaches him and thanks him for his help and soon would reward him as well. As the armoured Paradise Dawn member was making his exit, Rynah stops him and gives him special, warm, freshly-baked cookies that she just packed
"Thank you" he said and made his leave
"Well... that was something" he thought
