"Shall I give you despair?"
The matter of this day was already set. A sort of confrontation or even called a display of power. As a newly promoted Don of the crime syndicate Akudama, Nana was interested in learning just how powerful the members were. She was hosting the spars in her section of their guild hideout, a place where few ventured due to the deadly and intoxicating drugs she made there. Of course she wasn't making the drugs exactly where she was hosting the battles. She was hosting the battles in a run down section of an old train station. The rules were simple, win by any means necessary. Death was a daily part of life here and only the strong and bold could climb the ranks in her business. The weak and stupid would be used as stepping stones to ascend even higher. The tall blonde woman had watched several fights. She was no novice fighter, she knew when others were holding back. Footwork, breathing, eye focus, there were countless ways to see when someone was not taking things seriously. There were a few good fighters, but most of them were being too flashy or show boating. She decided to take matters into her own hands. She stood from the throne she had instructed her attendands to haul down for her. As she stood, all eyes fell on her and the immediate participants of battle also paused. They paused just long enough for Nana to wield her gunblades and put a hole in each of their heads. Their lifeless corpses thudded to the ground in a sickening display of brutality. "If any of you are serious about being my underlings, then don't make the same mistake as these two baffons and try to impress me with flashy moves but also holding back." she would say and then scan the crowd that looked at her with mixed expressions of horror, awe and entertainment. "I will take on the next challenger. I will not hold back. If you can survive for ten seconds, I will guarantee a position for you in my organization." she would say. After several long seconds of silence, it seemed that no one would volunteer. Finally one brave of foolish soul stepped forward and Nana allowed the man to physically and mentally prepare himself for combat. After several seconds, she raised her gunblades in a poise that told the man she was soon to be coming for him. He himself wielded a sword with a lacrima in the hilt. He tightened his grip and the sword burst into blue intense flames. A deadly weapon, Nana noted. Being hit directly with a weapon light that could maim a person, if not outright incinerate them. Nana rushed in suddenly, far too fast for the man to even realize it. She rushed passed him actually, expecting his mind would catch up and anticipate a frontal flurry due to her catching him off guard. Instinctively, he had raised the sword and prepared to swing downward with a chop, but it never went that far. A single trigger squeeze from Nana's gunblades had shot a thin purple beam of magic over the man's shoulder from behind and struck the lacrima on the hilt of his magic sword. The lacrima exploded in a volatile eruption and engulfed the man in his own flames that he had momentarily been immune to. He cried out for mercy and screams of agony for several long seconds before falling silent on his knees and then face first in the ground. "Anticipate your opponent's moves two to ten steps in advance. Fight to win, even if not immediately." she would say, instructing the onlookers, not realizing that she was teaching this lot of thugs the very lessons her teacher Erebus had taught her when she had just learned to wield a dagger. She strode over to her throne and sat down again, awaiting the next two fighters to take their places. Maybe her words of actions had bolstered the criminals before her. Inspired even. It didnt take long for two volunteers to step forward and prepare for combat. She would pause them briefly. "If either man runs away, kill him." she would instruct the crowd of criminals and murderers. then she added. "The loser of the next fight will become a thrall." she would say, sentencing one of these two men to an unlucky fate. The intent was to make them fight with all of their might. It worked. Whether these two men had known each other or not, they attacked viciously and without mercy, accepting minor wounds just for an opportunity to claim victory. being maimed was a far better fate than becoming a drugged thrall after all. Strangers in a strange land[Fight/Erebus]
Tue Sep 05, 2023 9:39 am
Wed Sep 06, 2023 5:39 pm
Erebus dragged his feet up steps to a clearing, he watched as two men fought grieving for their lives. They were just.. Slow. Their skills were not honed to their potential, and thus, one would lose life for this careless preparation. Erebus watched the fight as Nana gave them her verdict, their intensity was contagious and only fed his interest. He’s seen Nana’s bullet hit that sword and was mesmerized by the act, she has come far. He remembered all of her training, and was glad something surfaced.
Making his way after the two were finishing meant he was ‘stepping forth’. “Trust nothing but the strength of my arm, and the wrath of my sword.” He said, flatly. A long spear was in his left, and a blade, decorated by broken serated edges, was aimed low at the ground. Erebus, was another type of Fighter, but he was one that was trained, a veteran next to the underlings.
“I love the feel of cold steel. Hell has nothing on that.” He adjusted to the distance from her perch, roughly fifty meters. Erebus was hesitant, after having witnessed the Demon’s speed. He would be ready to jump, paying careful attention to where her hands went, and the tensing of a dangerous foe’s muscles.

"Shall I give you despair?"
Things had finally taken an interesting turn. As the man known as Erebus came into view, Nana sat forward in her throne: no longer did she see the two men fighting to the death before her, but passed them. At the moment, it mattered very little which of these two men won. She had given her decree and those who called her boss, would see to it that her words were truth. One man would win and one man would fall of course, as was inevitable in the battles of mortals. Had it been luck? Or maybe skill? Either way, the winner was relieved and momentarily reveled in the glory and cheers of his compatriots who applauded him for surviving and winning against a terrible fate. The second man lay on the ground, wounded and stunned. His mind had not yet accepted the fact that soon, he would be a mindless and vicious shell of a human who knew and craved only for the Demon powder. Realization kicked in all too quick as once before allies, grabbed him roughly and hauled him away towards the drug warehouse. He kicked and screamed weakly, futile after already wasting his strength on his lost battle. Still, Nana no longer paid him or the winner and mind. One man stood in the center of the warehouse now, weapons already out and ready to meet a challenge. Nana knew him, as a fellow Don- but nothing more than the rumors of his infamy foretold. If the rumors were to believed, he was a mighty warrior and unparalleled in tactics and brutality in equal measures. There was the other side as well. Part of the rumors were that he was the second guild master to Eternal Nightmare, while Nana had been the third. Even more than that, Erebus had been the one to teach Nana how to wield a dagger and make a name of infamy of her own. He had been her teacher and guild master at one point. None of that mattered now. To Nana, those were memories of someone else, memories she did not bear in her own mind. She felt no kinship from this man, only the mutual respect demanded of a fellow Don. She would remain seated for a moment, hearing his challenge. She wondered if any of her followers dared to meet Erebus' challenge. After several long seconds, it became apparent by the aversion of their eyes and nervous shuffling of their feet, that none present wished to cross blades with the monster known as Erebus. Nana was not surprised, although she was disappointed. Not trutly, as her appetite for emotions were but husks of their former self, likened to her memories. Rather, Nana simply wished even just one of her followers had the bravery to challenge the legend standing before them. She would have even intervened and given that man a high ranking position within her cartel, yet no one dared to tread won the same soil as Erebus, seeped in blood and drowned in shadows. Finally, after several long and awkward seconds of silence, Nana stood from her throne and clapped her heads together with such strength, that the air around her trembled and hurt the ears of those closest to her. All eyes turned to meet her gaze. "It seems this task is beyond all of you. As your boss, I will show you the kind of zeal and skill I demand." she would say, then turned to Erebus, whom was already eyeing her warily, especially her hands. She smiled disarmingly. "As former and present associates, I will be the one to meet your challenge, Don Erebus. Or do you prefer Crime Lord?" It mattered little to Nana which they called her, but some people had particular tastes and she was not wanting to offend a powerful ally, especially right before a potentially dangerous but "friendly" match. Whether Erebus responded to Nana's question or not, she would take action. Her hands disappeared into the long sleeves of her overly large fur overcoat. An action that she knew, Erebus was waiting for- a signal of battle, even if as a sleight of hands. The longer she engaged in battle with this man, the more he would learn about her and decrease her chances of victory. Erebus knew of the past Nana and her particular preferences to fighting. But did he know the new Nana's preferred methods? Nana could only assume he did not and that there was a chance that Erebus would default to what he had known of her in the past and err in his choice responses and reactions. With a small flash: concealed within her large sleeves, her gunblades would appear in the grips of her hands. Her companion Spur revealed himself atop her shoulder, having been hiding beneath the long locks of her hair. Unlike Nana, he remembered Erebus and waived to the man with a warm-hearted wave, though he understood what was about to happen. In the istant before their clash was inevitable, Nana reached deep within her and released all of her innate potential. Two purple horns protruded from her hear, her long blonde hair turned purple, her golden eyes were replaced with the menacing stare of purple devil eyes. Two black obscura wings protruded from her back, overlapped by a stark white pair of angelic wings. Surely this form was new to Erebus, as it was a recent awakening of hers. Few if any human or demi-human in history was known to have four wings. The wings of a Eudaemon to be exact. It was a broad stroke of irony, especially to Nana and Erebus. While Nana shared no more recollection of the first Guild Master Odin, surely Erebus remembered the man all too well. Eudaemon Odin. Now Nana bore a striking resemblance and power as well: maybe she had surpassed the first guild master in power... maybe she had not. Either way, this was certain to be a surprise even to Erebus, although surely her former master had expected great things from her, far greater than she had yet accomplished. Full of might and confidence(STR-1,733, SPD-601, CON-446, END-188, INT-2), Nana rushed straight at Erebus- eager to meet the man headlong into the confrontation of battle. Yet she was mindful and cautious, itching to anticipate even the slightest of reaction from the man. Nana was a quick foe, accelerating twice faster than most others. It would take her all but two seconds to reach her full speed(40M/S). In that time, she was certain Erebus would act- likely to deter her rush by going on the offensive. For the first thirty meters of her run forward, she would play defensively, ready for a counterattack from Don Erebus. After the thirty meter threshold however, she would go on the offensive if Erebus hadn't done anything drastic to deter from advancement. He would now be will within her deadly range. A single squeeze of both triggers and two thin purple beams of magic would shoot out from her concealed hands' locations. The trajectory of the beams appeared to be aiming for Erebus' hands, eager to disarm the man. She knew he was an experienced fighter, but her true aim was elsewhere. As the beams would close in on their marks, they would veer suddenly, downward. The beams were fast(50M/S, already within 20M of Erebus) faster than even her followers could ascertain. The true mark was Erebus's knees. Mobility was the key to the fight between these two Dons. Even as her beams went at insane speed, Nana had pressed forward- ready to react to Erebus' actions, but her goal was to overwhelm the man and deny him the opportunity to learn from any mistakes he would make in this mock battle. As she fired her guns and running at an accelerating speed, Nana would lunge forward suddenly and violently(30M/S) Her distance and speed would attempt to overtake and overwhelm Erebus. With less than a second to react as Nana would slash through him with the biting edges of her gunblades in an attempt to disarm the man's weapons with elegant but brutal slashes to his shoulder muscles. As she would dash through quickly, she would carry her momentum the extra ten meters passed Erebus's calculated position, she would have already turned to face him, a finger extended, next to her left trigger finger. A finger extended to her right trigger finger as well. If successful, her ranged attacks would strike Erebus with 1 S Rank damage to both knees. Her slashing attack would deal 8 S Rank damage to Erebus' chest and 6 S Ranks damage to his chest armor. "It seems this task is beyond all of you. As your boss, I will show you the kind of zeal and skill I demand." Erebus listened attentively and stanced himself up reasonably, his posture low as he bent at the knees. His weapons moved slightly, his spear while sticking straight, leaned towards the cold stone flooring. The sword, Zabimaru, itched for battle. The room seemed to dim as the single light above Erebus and Nana flickered dramatically. His sword hand was closer to his collar pulled back but ready to thrust. “I just prefer Erebus.” He stated as his lips peeled into a smirk and then stretched menacingly. Demonstrating the all too real aspect of his mania, his thirst.
For someone like him, genius and mad we’re a jumping rope. Which he intended to prove, there could be no missteps for him against Nana. The greatest thing that Erebus had done was refine the young girl, who had grown into a woman dwarfing what Human potential he had. Regardless, he was the old school, and old dogs can show you new tricks.
For Nana, the fight wouldn’t have began yet, but as Erebus stated. He was looking for her hands, and when they’d disappear, he would know that her trigger would be an issue. Using the fingers clenching his sword they quickly moved to slide against the air over his right pectoral.
Erebus gave her companion a wink, and like a blink had disappeared from view. Albeit he was standing in the same spot as she lifted her hand. Erebus decided that the best course to reaching her, would be to eliminate the sounds of his steps, altering yet another paradigm of her senses when facing the assassin.
This would trigger the first of his game. Playing out of sight was the first talent he acquired as a Rogue. Being that most of his opponents desired to detonate on top of him, he’d long since stopped letting them see his face. He was more of a name than a face, a whisper in the wind.
None would hear this whisper, it was more like a blood-curdling scream.
Roar: Zabimaru has a menacing aura, striking fear in its opponents and causing them to think twice before facing the user. Because of this, the target's attributes are lowered by 10% if the target is ranked equal to the user or lower and can only be used on one target.
Invisible now
The sound of a Tiger roaring may have disrupted the girl— but had it not he would assail, with the noise so loud and so vibrantly bouncing off the walls, echoing as before, a chain reaction displaced this noise in the surroundings. All around the area, this noise would pollute her hearing. The noise would be occurring when she lunged.
In the same moment, Erebus aimed his lunge, launching 17.5 meters forward, and out to his right— leaving twenty between him and the wall, before his movements blitzed him in a double step, creating an angular attack maneuver that caused their locations to be around the same place (albeit Erebus wasn’t on the ground). Since he would be invisible as this occurred, the spellshots wouldn’t gain their homing modifier. However, Erebus wouldn’t be able to hold his invisibility out too long, so getting close without being torn apart by bullets would be his first measure of this ordeal. He opted to dash yet again at the end of his dash (17.5m). This time, he would sail against the air, every step placed on soft air propelled him in a sharp instant, neither moving or inhibiting the soft wind, where he was. Gaining height on this lunge. Erebus hovered 8m above her head. (Location Nana would fire at 30m, before continuing to run)
Now was his turn, if nothing had happened, he would condemn her to fate and what was in store at the end of his weapon’s thrust (Swing speed is 2x on swords).
The user’s weapon grows its serated block edges, turning into a massive whip which would attempt to make contact upon Nana— if she opted to lunge, he would simply sweep the blade at her, hoping to catch her on her exit. Then, quickly as it grew, it would retract. It would take the blade 2 seconds from the moment Erebus is right above Nana, to deal her a blow at this radius.

Her charge forward would be intercepted, if she stops because she noticed Erebus isn’t there, he would over her position, and attacking her from an 8m distance. From the moment he went invisible, four seconds have passed, and two of those seconds you dashed, (1 second) and fired(2 bullets), so I’m assuming that is 1 second if she triggered at the same time on each hand. To meet that, I went invisible (1 second), and then lunged on her firing the bullet (1 second),
I have dashed back, with Double Step, and used 8m on Howl, since 8m is not the maximum distance it would be under two seconds, 1.5 seconds, but my swing speed is doubled, so I’m lowering the time to a single second.

"Shall I give you despair?"
Nana was right to be wary of Erebus. He was an assassin after all. Turning invisible was second nature to him and served him as both protection and the shadow's edge of a dagger in an exposed opponent's back. Nana had fought herfair share of invisible opponents, but none so skilled as Erebus. Fortunately, she had been cautious and watching warily upon her initial run towards him. He had turned invisible and somehow released a roar that echoed within the confines of the empty warehouse location. The sound was overwhelming and caused many of the criminal onlookers to shield their ears by placing both hands on their heads. It affected Nana too, but not quite as much as the others. It gave pause to her confidence, but fear was not an emotion she understood any longer. yes maybe it remained, but it did not register to Nana's consciousness, only to the primal sense of survival deep within her soul. Erebus had disappeared and that caused Nana to not continue her intended assault on the man's shoulders. Still at the initial thirty meter threshold, she knew that as the hunter, she had just become they prey- if even for a moment. It would take Erebus two second for his attack to reach Nana, in those two seconds he had lost his invisibility(due to the action of attacking), which gave Nana plenty of time to fid his new position before his strike could reach her. She knew the amateur mistake would be to lunge to evade the choreographed attack. While it was indeed an attack, it was bait. It would be far easier to guarantee a solid hit against her if Erebus reacted to her desperate evasion. The old her may have dashed to give herself easy breathing room, but she was not the old Nana. Maybe that was what Erebus expected Nana to do, but Nana had other ideas. Ideas that only surfaced due to the new identity she had aquired after becoming a husk with no memories. She flapped her four wings in a powerful beat as Erebus' large whip-like weapon would rain down upon her. The flap of her wings lifted her feet from the ground ever so slightly to allow the purple haired daemon to perform acrobatic finesse. Gracefully, she would dip backwards mid-air just off the surface of the ground and perform a dodge impossible for those without the ability of flight or defying gravity. The whip attack would miss Nana as she would flip, but she was doing more than dodging. Already, her left hand was between her thighs, the other outstetched to the side of her right thigh. She was suspecnded upside down during the dodge and she fired both weapons again, elegantly aiming at Erebus as his whip-like weapon missed her. Her weapons had been fired and similar to the first attack- her magical bullets would seem as a beam cutting through the sky towards Erebus' air position eight meters to her right and slightly up. He had made the mistake of getting too close to her. At this range, he was like fish in a barrel, for her spellshots could travel further than twice his current distance in less than one second. While in the midst of attacking her, he would recieve an attack himself before his weapon would be able to retract itself. Two purple spellshots would erupt from Nana's position and closed the twenty meters distance in less than half of a second. The spellshot from her right weapon would be slightly in the lead, having been fired from her fully extended right arm, while her left spellshot had been fired from the concealment between her thighs. Unluckily for Erebus this time, her shots would have been fired before he could dip himself into invisibility again- and thus her spellshots gained their inherent homing perk. Even if he attempted to evade: Nana's spells could outpace his maximum movement(Due to the spellshot range being 90M(In Eudaemon transform) at 50M/S). Whatever he chose to do, Nana had already pressed him and she would take the punishment one step further: for she hadn't fired any regular spellshot. No. Even if her spells traveled their maximum range, Erebus would find that these homing spellshots could detonate for a diameter of another elevel meters. Of course Nana could decide where they detonated in between here and there. She did so, detonating the left projectile just before it reached Erebus' position- just to throw his timing off in case he intended to intercept the attacks. The right projectile had the lead however and would travel past Erebus' midair position as his weapon was retracting. It would detonate on the other side of Erebus, pincering the man inside a twnety two meter diameter explosion. If struck, Erebus would feel his mana burning away(loses 1 A Rank mana cost). ""And shepherds we shall be. For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee. And Teeming with souls shall it ever be." Nana would recite as she came out of her mid-air acrobatics. Her wings would flap again and she would ascend into the air. She had met Erebus on the ground, but it seemed he wished for an aerial battle with her. She now floated seven meters higher than Erebus' last attack position, but she refused to end her barrage. If Erebus hadn't done anything too drastic, Nana would fly at him at her running speed, easily gaining her maximum running speed of (40M/S) before the assassin could recover from her brutal encompassing counter. She did not go straight into him this time however. Instead she would circule about him from a distance of ten meters, moving at max speed and refused to allow him to distance himself from her deadly range. She extended the pinky from each hand, just in case. -20% Mana(Transformations) -700(2 S Rank spellshots-Veritas/Aquitas: Explosion spells) *5,044 Mana Remaining *5 S Rank CON remaining WC-997 weapon mastery WC Total- 3,244 weapon mastery

Erebus had already settled into a low stance before striking prior with Zabimaru, his spear pointing the tip of the blade at the ground below, over the location where Nana was. Kicking off the user is launched towards the target as spell speed is temporarily added to their base dash speed., as it thrusted him down at blinding speed pushing him past the first bullet, which would detonate and sting him with roaring damage, he could feel his mana slip off that explosion— as it forcibly sapped it off his person. In the same moment as Nana’s magic bullet would blow the entire area around them up. He felt the damage again, albeit in this same moment (perhaps right after the second bullet, Erebus would have his spear outstretched, hitting the girl’s flesh underneath his body, upside-down; Nana would feel the jerk of force by the man’s weapon, though he couldn’t take her to the ground due to her sheer overwhelming strength next to his, the air around them would clap and vibrate as the sound barrier itself broke in lieu of the titans.
Nana couldn’t have predicted he would assail against her offense, and for that he was confident in his charge. She was likely expecting his evasion. Erebus hoped to use this moment of surprise, to slide against the pole in a acrobatic flow motion, so that his foot could graze her flesh beneath, and deliver a mighty physical kick to the body of the Daemon.
Using the Spear stick. Erebus slides from the pole in a swift movement, he would take his lead left boot, and attempt a stomp it or kick it against Nana, whichever he could— his acrobatics would allow him to fully extend himself, hitting her if she attempted to dodge from the spear, if successful it would be all the action he needed to place his foot somewhere and dash away. Even if he missed, the air was his platform already, he’d move— quickly getting out of the point blank proximity that was left for him. Erebus would await an ideal moment to breathe and rethink his strategy, his breathing already heavy and his body starting to feel the exhaustion of it’s mana closing down.
“You’re tougher than I can remember.” Erebus managed through sweat from the sheer magical drain he was enduring, able to talk and multi-task his movements if need be.

Erebus is hit with both spells, however 1xS is nothing to his endurance at 3xS and thus continues to go forward, acknowledging both the mana burn and damage performed. It doesn’t have knockback and he has the magic momentum off his dashing spell to plunge head-forth downward at a close proximation to his target. (Chasing Spear -375MP) He takes this opportunity to dish out damage to Nana.
Dealing 1xS to Nana’s health if the Spear hits her, and -1xS to her body armor— destroying it. This would break her armor, as even if she has a minor resistance to Erebus’ physical damage, her gear is taking 1xS + 1xA and she is also taking that damage, lowered down one rank if she has a minor resistance to her constitution.
Erebus would use the close proximity of this dash to combo land a body shot with his protected boot leg, if successful Erebus would deal an additional 2S to Nana’s body. —> He would dash the moment said damage lands or not.

"Shall I give you despair?"
Nana knew Erebus was a monster, just from his infamy. Seeing was believing as they say. Taking the brunt of her two explosions head-on and continuing to dash through, was not just insane, but reckless. being reckless was the only way to win though, as was the case with an underdog who could rise to fame by stepping over the corpse of a more powerful foe. While her acrobatics had allowed her to score two great hits on the assassin, it had not been enough to stop him.. And of course she knew it wouldn't. The only problem was that Nana hadn't expected the man to blitz through two explosions with such force. She had no time to prepare an evasion or counter for his first attack- an honest straight thrust to her chest. She felt the connection of force and the pain, but the force of the momentum did not knock her backwards or knock the breathe from her. No, Erebus would soon find that if he has intended to carry her motion to the ground, it wouldn't happen. In fact, Nana's body did not move at all, it was as if his attack had hit the side of a mountain. Whether the man expected that outcome or not, he had carried into acrobatics of his own and attempted to leg strike her in her now exposed chest, due to her chest armor crumpling from his spear attack. Still upside down and poised with her weapons, her right arm would be free to react to his secondary attack. Instead of his foot meeting her flesh, he would find the biting edge of Veritas as the gunblade intercepted his kick. Erebus would take the damage directly to his body, Nana's Veritas weapon would break, but so too would Erebus' leg armor. Since Nana was upsdie down during the spear strike, she had remained so. When intercepting Erebus' leg strike with her weapon, she too decided to kick... but upwards. Her "upwards" was of course down for Erebus, in an attempt to knock the man hard into the ground. With one of her guns useless, Nana would do something no sane person would do. Despite the advantage of having Erebus on the ropes, she would cast her Aquiatas gun aside. She would then land on the ground alongside Erebus, if whom had taken her counter- would himself be on the ground. Being the kind of man he was, Nana was certain he would stand up again. Her spellshots were powerful and a major inconvenience to almost any mage, few knew her actual monstrous strength. Erebus would have been the first to witness her true physical prowess and live to tell the tell. If that was the end of Erebus, Nana would not hold it again him. If he stood up however, Erebus would find that Nana was now weaponless and she was going even a step further to remove all of her armor and set Spur down. She would take up a mixed martial artist stance and smirk at the man who was once her master. "I am not the same Nana you once knew." she would say, not willingly telling him that she had lost her memories. He could interpret her response however he wished. Assuming Erebus was still willing to contue their battle, if even in just a punching contest, Nana would also continue. If he was finished, she would turn to look at all the the shocked faces of the underlings who had witnessed their demigod battle. If Erebus had continued, Nana would start by attempting a mean left hook into the man's chin. Her legs would remain wide and strong, allowing for strong attacks with dexterous mobility of her feet. Smoke and dust clouds later… Ambient whispers, and Nana clearly seeming to stand up from the exchange first. Erebus was beat. But he could sleep not without pushing himself just a little bit further. He raised at the chest, then to his feet like a marionette, the force of darkness in him welling. When the dust cloud disappears, he was already standing there, staring in her direction as she discarded her item and pet.
“I would expect nothing less.” Erebus said, his tone cold. However, one could chalk the true meaning up to how she exceeded his expectations. Eternal Nightmare had built Nana like a weapon, even if she wasn’t aware of her ranking there, her persona. Clearly, the time she spent alongside him and Jin and Odin; and the rest, was ingrained behind her, along with everything she was going to become in the Akudama.
Erebus could let the next generation have the darkness. Something that relieved his distant and maddened mind. Balance was just deserts, and perhaps he could rest… No rest for the wicked though, as they say.
Erebus pulls his helm off and pitches it with reaction to Nana, when the girl runs a few feet in & forward, he drops his own weapons and raises his hands boxer style, she attempts a wide left hook. Erebus steps in close and extends a swift right-hand (straight jab), his body bending to duck her left after, though this was where it got tricky— if he had to throw himself backwards to avoid an uppercut. Since his strike was straight and true; (he prayed he wouldn’t be TKOed right then and there) — a jab was always faster than a hook and Erebus didn’t have too many options. Erebus side-steps after his straight, depending on whether he was successful, he could have ducked under the arm and moved to his left, her right. Then he would move backwards on his feet as if to relent pressure, assuming that straight might rocked her at all and have him the chance.
Interpreting Nana’s actions and fight style was difficult because she normally wore her magical belt— seeing how the recoil of blows affected her would be knew and intriguing to the veteran, but Erebus was moving more sluggish now, his breathing was hard— Erebus showed signs of wear and tear, and clear human exhaustion that would soon catch up with his mortal form. Assuming he could stop her from grabbing him — he might stand an honest chance.
But he’d already accepted his fate, knowing that her powers had surpassed his own.

"Shall I give you despair?"
He tried to do too many things at once however- leaning in for a jab and then ducking to back out before her left hook could connect. Nana would accept the jab, but she did something few would expect. Footwork. As Erebus' fist connected with her face, her own foot would stop downward at Erebus' foot to prevent him from retreating as she would use her monstrous strength to push through his fist and headbutt the man in his own face with all of her might. The shock of the collision would make her own eyes blur from the pain but she would be content with the solid connection. She would stagger back afterwards and look at Erebus, completely devoid of any emotion, yet her eyes seemed impressed. More so from a respect to a fellow fighter, than any emotion associated with human empathy. Assuming their duel was over now, a ruffian from the crowd thought to take advantage of the weakened crime lords and sieze some glory for himself. With Erebus in dire straights and Nana on her last leg, so to speak: the man thought he could take one, if not both of them down. He leaped out from the crowd of onlookers and began to yell something about weakness and being defenseless. To which nana responded by flicking her left wrist at the man. Aquitas magically appeared in her hand and she squeezed the trigger. She didn't aim to kill this man, no. He would be a lesson to the others. She would walk up to the man, where she had shot him in his foot to prevent him from escaping. As he lay in the ground wailing in pain, she would step on his right hand and kneel down. She pulled a red powdered back from a pouch between her breasts and shoved the contents into the man's mouth and forced him to swallow. He fought at first, but Nana held his breathe and made him panic swallow the blood demon powder. Within seconds, his body began to convulse and foam at the mouse as his eyes dilated. "If you are going to attack a crime lord, expect to lose. Be prepared to take us down, because we will not show mercy." she would say, glancing down at the drugged man. His body had stopped convulsing but blood seeped from his eyes. If he didn't die from an overdose, he would become a thrall and put to work as manual labor. Assuming Erebus could stand or at least fend for himself on the ground, Nana would put back on her personal belongings and then address him. "I haven't had a good fight in... since I can remember." she would say, but that was all she would say to him. It was essentially a thanks and a compliment. She addressed the onlookers "Break time is over. Get back to work with the blood demon powder." she would say with authority. He sets off towards the quest he and Nana would do, and thus continues on with his story and his role as Akudama.
This fight taught Erebus a few tricks, one— he was severely limited by his engagement, and B— his human body was fatigued whereas Nana’s wasn’t even sweating.
Perhaps, his mortal coil was failing him. But Erebus had naught long been an X-rank threat, perhaps ingenuity would be a breeding ground for his rise amongst the Underworld. He’d done it before, but doing it again? He needed the firepower to do that. As of the moment, he was simply a decorated shadow of his former self, a soundless assassin, with a penchant for magical treasures. Erebus would soon show them, he was more than a treasure Hunter. He was the Dark’s collector, and souls he would soon hunt.
