Name: At Journey's End Difficulty: Short Participants: Yu Ming Story: With amnesia plaguing her mind and the lone clue of her past being the name she heard from the enigmatic voice Yu Ming begins a journey in search of the answer to a question that might be fundamental in creating the existence of one's being: Who am I? Objective: - A-rank: Traveling to Sin in search for anyone who might be able to provide her with clues of her past, Yu arrives at the capital where her questioning earns the curiosity of a mysterious nobleman. With no alternatives at her disposal, Yu decides to accept the man's offer to help in her search. - A-rank: Despite the help of the nobleman granting her much more progress than she could have possibly accomplished on her own, Yu has yet to find any trail that could lead her to her answers, until a chance encounter with an associate of the nobleman leads to a possible breakthrough! According to the associate, there is a courtesan in the red light district who had a daughter with a similar name. - S-rank: Finally tracking down the courtesan the duo discovers answers that might have better been left untold. While the courtesan initially mistakes Yu for her daughter, the woman breaks out in tears as she explains how she indeed had a daughter called Yu Ming and who looked strikingly similar to her, but two traits set them apart: First is the fact Yu Ming didn't have pointed ears, and she was frail of health, having died several months ago to a terminal illness. After their departure from the red light district Yu Ming appears to be distraught, not sure what to think about all this news when the nobleman tries to comfort her. Offering her some tea to clear her mind and consider her next course of action, a fairy appears with the claim that their leader Titania wants her to return to Avalon. While the nobleman is initially flabbergasted at the presence of a Fae so far from Caelum, Yu instead demands to get reaffirmation on her identity, to which the fairy confirms the truth spoken by the enigmatic voice, and if she wants proof she should seek out the corpse of Yu Ming. Deciding to accept the taunting remark of the fairy the duo goes to search for Yu Ming's burial place, but they discover to find out the place where the grave was, is gone and instead, a crown of vines and flower decorations rests where it had been. While it was true that Yu Ming had died, it seemed the Fae had taken her body for some reason. With more questions lingering on her mind Yui prepares to take the challenge to the Fae-folk and prepares to travel to Caelum to find out what happened. |
