General Name: Briar Càidh Age: (14) March 16th, X782 Gender: Male Sexuality: Homosexual Ethnicity, Father: Caelish Ethnicity, Mother: Fiorian Class: Spellsinger Race: Half-Elf Rank: D-rank Guild: Blue Pegasus Tattoo: Light blue, lower stomach Face: Misha - Honkai: Star Rail Appearance Height: 4' 9'' Weight: 84 lbs. Hair: Blue-White Eyes: Purple Overall: Briar is by all accounts a small, gentle boy, with a bird-like bone structure and a naturally pretty appearance. Emphasis here is on pretty - not in a vain sense, as much as Briar is effeminate without effort. He could pass equally and easily as a girl, helped little by the slow aging of his half-elf heritage and being in the midst of puberty. His smooth is skin, unblemished, but thin and easily bruised, coupled with an overall pale pallor. Little bags under his eyes are rubbed away with the thin fingers of small hands, sparkling hazel blinking through the bluish-white tint of his hair. He is verifiably recognizable as an elf by blood, taking far more after his elven mother than his father when it comes to appearance. Extra: Owing from his Magic and general tastes, he has a manageable fascination with accessories and is adorned with various flower-like ornaments, jewelry, and even the occasional flower crown. His outfits also tend more towards boyish citywear than anything elvish -- though he has, on occasion, crossdressed. Personality Personality: Briar's personality is no different from his demeanor. For every way in which he appears gentle, shy or thoughtful, his heart betrays none of them. He is, at his core, a caring and quiet young boy, free of most conceit or judgment. He was raised right by loving parents and a society that did no wrong by him, and seeks passionately to return that kindness and ease the worries of others. While he's not particularly drawn to vanity, he does put effort - and a bashful enjoyment - into his appearance and assists in helping others appear their own best selves, most of all with his accessory work. While not the most extroverted nor leadership oriented individual, Briar has a great well of barely hidden passion that bubbles over in his interests and in support of the people around him. He is a natural follower and appreciator of authority, while equally doing everything in his power without so much as a blink to do right by anybody that might rely on him. He takes responsibility seriously, especially in the case of responsibility he takes on himself (for his plants and companions), and will see through anything until the end - regardless of its cost on him. It is difficult to call a boy with so little experience and an almost wonder-like worldview particularly selfless, but he will put himself through any trial that might help somebody else without thought to his own sacrifice. This is just an aspect of his childish naivete, a quality that does not have to be a flaw if he learns to better apply it. His heart is strong but its defenses are no less thin than his skin, hurt by words as easily as stones. If he receives criticism, he is quick to correct his behavior, but the pain of doing something wrong sticks with him. You could say he's quite the anxious little guy, deep down, despite anything. Statistics Strength: 1 Speed: 8 Constitution: 5 Endurance: 5 Intelligence: 11 Magic Magic Name: Soul Dew Magic Magic Element: Water/Nature Magic Enhancement: Combo-Elemental Magic Magic Description: Soul Dew Magic is used to support other people the same way nature has its own cycle - with the roots of plants drawing their life from water's sustenance, only to become the nutrients for other plants once their life has ended. This is a fundamentally spiritual magic, drawing inspiration from the aforementioned, and manifesting as otherworldly flora and rain. The user can especially create ornamental accessories out of Soul Dew flowers that another person can wear or hold onto to benefit from Soul Dew Magic's buffing magic, though not as an actual piece of equipment and only while sustained. Soul Dew Magic, as a type of magic that can manifest itself physically, retains offensive capabilities. Vines, flowers, and even the water from the latter can be used to fend off opponents, up to drawing the water from the environment to wither and harm, or smother - a cycle does not only constitute life, after all. Death is equally valuable to nature. History History: Born to an adventurous Caelish-human father on an expedition to Fiore that fell in love with an Athalran Wood Elf woman, Briar is a half-elf in his own right and came into the world self-assured by the love he received from both. He was additionally taught early of the differences and intricacies of both races he now belonged to, and his father settled in Fiore to live in the city of Hargeon with his mother - who had chosen the settlement over staying in the Athalran forest. She was a peculiar sort as all Wood Elves seem to the other races, but she fell for the charm and wit of Briar's father and enchanted them both with the natural grace inherit to her - and now, partly to Briar's - species. Even so, Briar was given little to connect with for his Wood Elf heritage, and despite his aesthetic similarities to his mother (who he took far more after), his perspective of the world is more alike to the wide-eyed optimism and playfulness of his father. She often teases them about this, but doesn't divulge more of her own history out of seeming discomfort or simple disinterest. While neither boy in the family pushes her for more information, Briar does grow up with a smoldering desire to explore Athalran for himself someday and equally connect to his roots. He settles comfortably in Hargeon and lives a charmed, simple life: not as fascinated with the sea that surrounds himself as both of his parents, but excited to share in it all the same and imagine the world that might lay on its other side. While still quite young and left alone for a very short amount of time, Briar managed to accidentally start a fire with ornamental candles and burn a section of their home and his first tended garden away. This has stuck with him as one of few truly negative memories and informs a large chunk of his modern day dislikes and discomforts; namely his pain at doing wrong by others, making mistakes, or his various fire-related phobias. His family continued to support him through it, and held little over him as quick to forgiveness and adoration as they were, but the instance was too formative to be cleared easily. He swears here to do better. Always. They take very few trips out of the city and only for nature embarks every so often, leaving Briar to grow up largely entirely within the city, and connect the deepest with its local Mage Guild - Blue Pegasus. It was not a difficult choice for him to apply, both due to general shared appreciation of beauty and kindness, and also due to watching the Blue Pegasus mages and their feats as he grew. He has an overwhelming appreciation for the guildmaster Alisa Vollan and looks up to her immensely; with a secret, less formulated motivation to one day aspire to her enchanting beauty and the grace he feels is met only by his mother's. To be ethereal, he dreams. This is where he begins his journey of cultivation and acknowledgment, training his unique brand of Magic to better support both his fellows and his own quiet ambitions.
