While the events which took place just a few nights ago were nothing short of delightful, a gathering of minds, influence, and power in Oak that very few would ever find themselves forgetting, it also as much served as the preamble to this, the preparations for the much-maligned departure to Crocus. There was simply no way to prevent this from occurring; there being little more than a week or so before the first session of the Fiore Senate was set to commence once again. Seldom was there great anticipation towards this as more often stood as an interruption than it did anything else, but for the group that was to arrive from Oak Town, it was far more impactful. To many of them, this would stand as their first summer session of Senate, many having come through the coordinated effort of Astrid Venier over the course of recent months. Even for her, this would mark her first time engaging within the summer session, but more even than that, for her the session would be all the more crucial. Her declaration was made clear several days before, much to the expectations of the many who were present at the elite gathering, that she would make a play for the position of Reigning Senator. And for all of them, there was a great deal of expectation and excitement, but also some degree of concern and worry. The fight would be difficult, no shortage of resistance expected to come about from the rest of the Senate, and though there were positive spirits felt amongst the Oak Town Senators, there was also private concerns over potential failure. The chance was there, but the hope was that with support from others within The Cabal including Lady Tsara and others that it would be enough to persevere, but that would not be fully clear until they were within Crocus. 324/200 |
