Dominic, Clergy of Light Dominic has been spending a lot of time in Orchidia, especially in the residential district. He would enter the Horizon Apartment complex and walk down the halls, basically to understand the civilians. He would see families struggle with different aspects of life and at times he would try to lend a hand if he was able to. One afternoon, he would catch the scent of warm baked cookies which would draw him to an open door. He would peak into the apartment to make sure everyone was fine, since leaving a door open to the hallway was a safety hazard, "Hello? Sorry to bother, but I notice your door was open" Dominic took a single step in while looking about the small apartment. "Oh! Hello, dear, I'm sorry I had to leave the door open to let the air out, I had burnt the last batch of cookies, I normally don't forget about them, but I guess I'm just having an off day, please come in" An older woman greeted him and seemed very kind and inviting. Dominic didn't want to intrude, but he didn't want to decline the woman's offer, so he entered and took a seat on the sofa at her request. She would then offer him tea to which he gladly accept. After she had checked on the cookies and poured them both cups of tea, she would sit with Dominic, "I'm Rynah Noran, it is nice to meet you." "Pleasure to meet you, miss, I'm Dominic Luzero" He smiled at her before taking a sip of his tea. As the two fell into conversation, Dominic would let Rynah speak as he was more of a listener. As the minutes ticked, she would open up, talking about her son Mitya who owned a bar and their good memories. It wasn't long before she fell to tears; it seemed there has been some tension, her son wanted to put her in a nursing home, but she was reluctant. "I've been wanting to write a letter to Mitya about how I feel since he refuses to talk to me, but I'm having trouble, I'm not as young as you are" Rynah said while trying to pull back from her tears. "I'll be happy to help you, Doña" Dominic gave her a warm smile that helped calm her. When Mitya returned with a pen and paper, they began writing out the letter. Dominic could tell she had memory loss issues which was probably why she had trouble writing and probably would have had trouble voicing her concerns to her son. He wrote the letter for her while also trying to sound sincere. Mentioning memories shared in this homes that keep her happy while he isn't present, but also respecting that he has his own life. After the letter was done. Dominic offered to deliver the letter to him since post will take too long. After she thanked him, he exited the building. 492 |

Dominic, Clergy of Light From what Rynah had told him about her son's bar, or at least what she remembered, Dominic managed to find the bar as the sun was touching the horizon. He asked for Mitya, but the barkeep present at the time would tell him he may be at the opposing bar across the street. So when the clergyman crossed the street and entered the bar, he asked for Mitya at once. The bartender scoffed before immediately pointing to a shaggy haired man with shades slouching on the bar counter, "What would you need from me, priest?" Mitya groaned as he observed Dominic and spotted the the sunburst cross necklace that was showing. "Your mother asked me to deliver a letter to you" Dominic said as he tucked his necklace beneath his shirt, never intending to present himself as a clergyman when this was a civilian issue. Mitya scoffed and reached for the open bottle before him, but when Dominic handed him an envelope, he would look into the clergyman's brown eyes and something about his look seemed warm and encouraging, convincing him to leave the bottle for the moment. So Mitya reached for the envelope instead and opened it. He took the moment to read the letter within and it wasn't long before he fell into tears that fell onto the paper. Mitya would then jump out of his seat before rushing out of the bar. Dominic quickly left a some jewels on the table, hoping it would cover whatever the tab was before rushing after Mitya. Not as fast as Dominic wished, he wouldn't catch up to the man, but he knew where he was going, so he would eventually find him at his mother's apartment, embracing her. Dominic watched as the two would share several emotional words. "I don't want to leave this place because it is the only place that still has the memories of our family, to me you're still here" Rynah told him. "Ma, I only want to put you in the nursing home to protect you, you're getting older and you just need help" Mitya explained. They cried, understanding each other and coming to a compromise that she'll stay and that he'll visit often to check in on her. Dominic, careful of not to disturb their heart warming moment, also mentioned he could reach out to the Orchidia Church to provide some kind of at-home help aid that could help her with her daily life. Mitya would thank Dominic for his help. Before Dominic would leave, Rynah would hand him a small bag of the fresh baked cookies that she finished. He then departed. 440 | 932 [Exit] |
