Luluhawa Island had always held a special place in Tōga’s heart, and now, as he stood upon its sun-kissed shores once again, it felt as though the island itself welcomed him back. The air carried the faint scent of salt and blooming tropical flowers, the kind of fragrance that only Luluhawa could conjure. After months of being away, the familiar sights and sounds—the rhythm of the waves, the distant cries of seabirds—were a balm for his restless spirit. He found himself on Kahu Rock, a slender stretch of land that connected two wider parts of the island. The isthmus whispered softly beneath the afternoon sun, its golden sands cradled by the gentle push and pull of the ocean. On either side, the waves lapped at the shore, their ceaseless ebb and flow creating a soothing melody that harmonized with the occasional rustle of the palm trees swaying nearby. Tōga sat in the center of the sand, legs crossed, hands resting loosely on his knees. His pink hair shimmered under the sunlight, tousled slightly by the breeze as he focused on his breathing. He inhaled deeply, drawing in the salty sea air, and exhaled slowly, letting his thoughts drift away with each breath. “See, Strigr-chan?” he said, his voice calm and light, though tinged with the satisfaction of someone at peace. “Isn’t this relaxing?” To his left, Strigr mirrored his pose—or at least, she tried. Her golden hair framed her serene face, catching the light like strands of liquid gold as it danced gently in the wind. Though her posture lacked Tōga’s ease, there was a quiet determination in her as she followed his lead. In her human form, the sea dragon exuded an ethereal beauty, her eyes reflecting the shimmering ocean as if they held its very essence. “Yes, Otō-san,” she replied, her voice soft and melodic. “I’m quite enjoying myself.” There was a hint of pride in her tone, a subtle acknowledgment that she was mastering yet another aspect of human life under Tōga’s guidance. he two of them sat quietly, basking in the warmth of the sun and the soothing rhythm of the sea. Tōga wore his usual air of carefree confidence, his toned torso bare and glistening under the sunlight. Fiery red swim trunks clung to his frame, a bold contrast against the pale sands. Strigr, by comparison, opted for modesty. She donned a simple blue one-piece swimsuit, the fabric snug against her elegant figure, with a sheer, flowing cover-up that caught the breeze like a delicate veil. It was a rare day of tranquility, a brief reprieve from the chaos that so often accompanied their lives. Tōga had seized the opportunity to teach Strigr the art of meditation, a practice he had come to appreciate over time. Though she struggled to find the same stillness, her willingness to learn filled him with a quiet pride. But just as Tōga was beginning to slip deeper into his meditative state, something stirred in the air. A familiar scent wafted toward him, carried on the breeze like a whisper from the past. His eyes snapped open, one brow arching as he scanned the horizon. His sharp instincts kicked in, and a wide grin spread across his face. “It can’t be…” he muttered, his voice tinged with excitement. Rising to his feet, he shaded his eyes with one hand, his gaze fixed on a figure approaching from the distance. His heart raced as recognition dawned. “She can’t be here!” His grin widened, the peaceful calm of the moment giving way to pure exhilaration. “Strigr-chan,” he said, his voice brimming with enthusiasm, “you’re about to meet someone very special.” wc: 656 |

Her body may not be built for heat, yet this Northern blooded woman had grown used feeling the sun shining down on her pale, smooth skin, the dizzying heat that left her fanning herself as she strolled leisurly up the mountain, that damp fabric of her tank top clinging to her sweat slicked skin as it glistened under the sun's sizzling rays.
The weather back home no was steadily darkening as the days grew shorter and the sunshine gave way to dark and cloudy rainfall as Autumn rolled around... But in Luluhawa, Summer never truly ended. A golden island of never ending sunshine... After spending the morning at the beach, Alisa went out for a stroll, starting with the town, before following the shoreline, traversing the beaten path, the water lapping at her feet as she walked along the wet sand at low tide... Now that she thought about it:
"Low tide hmm~... Today might be a good day to go there.", she mused, a gust of wind blowing her long, flowing black ponytail towards the side as she adjusted the hem of her snug denim shorts around her hips.
Even for someone like her who spent almost as much time on the Island as its natives, there was one specific part of Luluhawa she scarcely had a chance to explore. People seldom went to Kahu rock until low tide revealed that thin passageway there, and now was one such time... Going where her whims and the winds took her, Alisa kept her eye peeled until she finally spotted the sight of Kahu rock, only a small stroll away from the Island's shoreline. With nothing but the ebb and flow of the waves and that gently breeze keeping her company, the crystal woman turned towards her destination... As she arrived, her brow arched as she noticed she wasn't alone... Curiosity overtook her as she found herself approaching the pair, until her pink lips curled as she recognized a familiar pink mane, and the chiseled frame of the Rune Knight she'd met last year:
"Oh, Toga...? Well you're a sight for sore eyes~", she chimed, greeting her two-time comrade in arms with a wink, her thoughts wandering back to their adventure in the void caverns... Waving at the pair, she took note of the blonde beauty accompanying him who she'd never seen before, "How's life treating you?"
It had been a good a few months since then, and she didn't even need to use her left eye to recognize how much stronger he'd grown since then... Though as she approached, she felt a pang of guilt as she got the impression she'd interrupted their meditation... That cool smile faded with a hint of awkwardness as she brushed a loose black lock behind her ear:
"My... Apologies if I've interrupted your meditation.", she excused herself

The rhythmic swells of the tide rolled gently over Kahu Rock, the sound of water retreating and advancing creating a soothing cadence. Tōga let the melody of nature wash over him, a symphony of crashing waves, the soft cries of seabirds, and the rustling whispers of the breeze. Here, on this narrow stretch of sand that seemed suspended between sea and sky, everything felt perfectly in tune. The salty tang of the ocean air filled his lungs, mingling with the warmth of the sun on his skin and the cool kisses of the tide lapping at his feet. “This,” he murmured, his voice low and content, “this is what it’s all about.” Eyes still closed, he stretched an arm out and ruffled Strigr’s golden hair, his fingers gritty with sand as they tousled her neatly kept mane. The dragoness sighed softly, her expression a mix of indulgent contentment and mild exasperation. Despite her grace and poise, she had long since resigned herself to her “father’s” insistent need to turn every serene moment into an opportunity for casual play. But the peace of their meditative state was fleeting. The faint scent Tōga had picked up earlier grew stronger, sharper, and unmistakable. His instincts stirred. Someone was approaching. Tōga’s eyes opened lazily, the sunlight bathing his vision in warm gold. As the figure drew closer, his mouth opened to call out with his usual boisterous energy. “Ooooooi! Ali—” The words stuck in his throat, caught somewhere between recognition and astonishment. His gaze locked onto her, and for a moment, the world seemed to narrow around her presence. Alisa stood before him, framed by the shimmering light of the sun reflecting off the sea. Her form was breathtaking—every detail effortlessly commanding attention. Tōga’s sharp brown eyes took in the flowing elegance of her dark hair, the way her thin, summer-appropriate clothing clung gracefully to her figure, leaving little to the imagination yet remaining perfectly composed. The guild master carried herself with a confidence and beauty that rendered the word “beautiful” woefully inadequate. His heart stuttered. Shaking his head as if to clear his thoughts, Tōga abruptly rose to his feet, the casual ease of moments prior replaced by uncharacteristic fluster. “Hi, Alisa-sama!” he exclaimed, bowing deeply. The blush that crept across his cheeks burned as brightly as the sun above, and he kept his face hidden, unwilling to meet her gaze directly. His usual bravado seemed to have abandoned him entirely in the face of her poised presence. Strigr, watching the scene unfold, sighed once more before gracefully standing and brushing the sand from her flowing garments. Unlike her master, the dragoness radiated composure as she stepped forward, offering her own bow with elegant precision. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Alisa-sama,” she said, her voice soft yet self-assured. “I’m Strigr.” The contrast between the two was almost comical—Tōga, usually so animated and fearless, now rendered uncharacteristically subdued, while Strigr exuded calm refinement. Yet, beneath the awkwardness of the moment, there was a genuine warmth. Tōga’s hesitation wasn’t born of intimidation but of admiration, and Strigr’s formal introduction was laced with curiosity and respect. Tōga straightened slightly, his eyes darting upward but never quite meeting Alisa’s. He shifted his weight awkwardly, his usual confidence still in retreat. The way her clothes hugged her figure, accentuating every curve, was impossible to ignore, and he cursed himself for noticing so much all at once. The dragon slayer cleared his throat, the usual grin creeping back onto his face despite his lingering embarrassment. “Well, Alisa-sama, welcome to Kahu Rock! The view’s nice, but I guess it’s even better now?” He scratched the back of his head, chuckling nervously, as Strigr shook her head in quiet amusement. wc: 647 [1,303] |
