Oak Description: Oak City is an old castle city that is situated on a hill in the west of Fiore, surrounded by lush forests and the dangerous Sieghart Mountains, with the river flowing nearby. The city is historic, with numerous turrets and battlements of the past. It is a spherical city in terms of shape and completely covers the hill on which it rests. In the center, towering above the rest of the city, is a castle belonging to the Phantasm. Due to its nature to attract many dark mages, one would expect Oak to be a chaotic city.
Localization: As the city is built on quite a massive hill, it overshadows the surrounding forests and anything at sea level. Housing a neutral guild, Oak City does not receive much love from those nearby, isolated from the rest of the cities especially now that a family of nobles is occupying the Oak castle as well. The river running around the city acts as a border rather than a source of water, or fish. Some villages in the west say that one should not cross the river into the doomed city, and if you do, you are said to be meddling with the Advent's business. Oak City is rarely a target for attack. Due to its geography they can see almost any massive enemy coming from miles away, and even if they receive any kind of funny sneak attacks from underground or something, mages from Advent World will come to the defense of its host city.
Politics: Oak seems like an extremely structured city, and from the outskirts it may look like that. The Lord regularly sends reports to Era and the city doesn't seem to be problematic. Rarely anything bad is said about the city, but anyone who has been there knows that internally the city's politics are flawed. The reports that the Lord sends are often not entirely true.
Economy: Economically Oak City should have crashed a long time ago, but the lack of law enforcement makes this a hotspot for illegal mages as well as illegal jobs. Criminals don’t have to hide much when in Oak, and even though this place attracts massive amounts of dark mages there aren't many robberies either. This keeps the city's people from rioting, and creates a mutual relationship between the citizens and the Advent World mages where both parties benefit. As long as the citizens of Oak turn a blind eye and treat the dark mages as normal people, their stores and homes won't be incinerated or robbed for the most part. However, the lack of robberies does not sustain the city single-handedly. A good portion of the economy comes from requests. Being a safe haven for dark mages, the city often attracts request that most guilds wouldn't take. This keeps the money circulating and brings money into the city.
Culture: When the word “Oak City” comes up in a conversation, most people associate it with dark mages and criminals. However, Oak City is really just a city where a mage can have a bounty on their head and still be able to walk around the city as if they we're the most righteous person on earth. The city is famous for being the home of numerous infamous dark Mages. However, this doesn't mean the citizens are unfriendly. Everyone tends to stray away and mind their business. The city is infamous for its lack of law enforcement. This usually raises concern with the Council, but the Phantasms generally eases the Council's worry with generous donations to their war chest. Most people growing up in this city tend to be extremely independent and may have grown up being robbed or mugged a few times. Though there is no curfew, most citizens tend to be inside and at home during night due to the fact that dark mages tend to operate around those hours. During night the streets is predominantly mages who feel capable of protecting themselves against other mages.
