Personal Name: Sine Nic Cailin Age: 38 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Class: Sorceror Rank: D-rank Guild: Lamia Scale Tattoo: Green - Upper Left Arm Face: Elspeth Tirel - Magic: The Gathering Appearance Height: 5’11” Weight: 160 lbs Hair: Brunette Eyes: Dark Brown Overall: Cailin is an imposing figure who is seen to stand erect with an air of seriousness at almost every moment. She bears an athletic body form that has accumulated various scars, especially along her toned upper body which itself sports a small bust and broad shoulders that surround a well-defined neck line. As expected of her veteran-like form, her hands wear the majority of her scars which take the form of small cuts and give them the appearance of a rough fisherman's knuckles. Although they are one of the few parts of her body she does not bother to cover up, her hands—specifically her usually-trimmed fingernails—have almost never been touched by fingernail polish. The same can be said for the toenails of her feet which have evidently gone through years of abuse much like her hands, apparent from the rough, scarred appearance. Just as her hands are gruff-looking due to refusal to wear gloves, her feet have suffered the same fate after going a long period without access to shoes or boots. There is a lot to tell about Cailin's character just from looking at her head region. Although she has never been a vain person in nature, she wears a fair amount of makeup. The reason for this seemingly out-of-character habit lies with a desire for beauty that she thought lost on her after a long incarceration. Since being released, she can be seen sporting dark mascara, light lip gloss, etc. Additionally, she is a huge fan of golden hoop earrings despite the conventional wisdom that often decides against it for people in her line of work. Her long hair, however, is surprisingly plain in design given that it is covered up most of the time anyway. a small green band usually ties it all back, though, a few curls can be seen forming at its ends. Cailin prefers to take a conservative approach to her mode of dress when out of combat. She enjoys several long layers of robes combined with cotton pants and shirts as her default uniform. Her color theme varies but her favorite colors to wear are gold, white, and (above all) green. There are a few things that never seem to change no matter the situation. The most signature of these is her green or white veil which prominently hides most of her hair and is usually found tucked into her robes or shirt by the back collar. Her reasons for wearing such an article of clothing are as such: first, to protect her hair from being grabbed by an opponent and, second, to guard against a too-feminine appearance which might not intimidate her enemies. It is one of the few habits she kept even after her incarceration. Extra: N/A Personality Personality: Cailin is very much a product of her environment which has apparently been a gruff one. She is prone toward swearing, easily gives into her rage-filled passions, and is easily pushed toward acting violently in spite. It does not take much more than a misunderstanding whilst horsing around for her to justify a fight. In fact, obnoxiousness is probably what sets her off more than anything given that she is a serious person in nature. None of these things indicate she is a violent psychopath or the likes but instead suggests she simply has anger problem which has only grown worse with age. If one looks past Cailin's temper, he or she will find a woman which has deep regrets. She can almost appear sorrowful to those who know her best in fact. To rectify these regrets—or to at least make herself feel better—Cailin has adopted ethical standards by which she lives. Prominent among these is the display of valor in all things which threaten innocent men and women. In protecting such people, she goes from appearing as a spiteful witch to a courageous paladin in a matter of seconds. It is obvious in the end, however, that no amount of good deeds ever satisfies her guilt and she quickly returns to her more rough character. Despite how easily she gives into her anger, Cailin has a strict sense of discipline which demands a certain standard from her and (more significantly) her comrades. She works tirelessly to ensure her mind, her body, and her equipment are up to par with what is necessary of her. This typically means a consistent workout schedule, avoiding anything which might inebriate her, and the ever lasting polishing and maintenance of the few things she owns. Consequently, she has a tendency toward imposing these habits on her allies as well, especially those she relies on. In her lifetime, Cailin has become wary of many things. Chief of these is actual combat, not to be confused with little conflicts and harmless fistfights. She has seen numerous friends parish while nearly losing her own life on occasion and while she once possessed a youthful zeal for battle, it has since been lost with age. The most visible change to her approach to combat is her preference between defense and offense. Whereas she once fought with such fierceness that disregarded even her own safety, she now takes a much more defensive stance toward fighting that is far more concerned with protecting herself and comrades. Magic Magic Name: Stone Magic Magic Element: Earth Magic Description: Stone magic is a caster form of magic that allows the user to manipulate stone and use it from afar for various purposes that depend on the spell. The spells pertaining to this magic can be used to create temporary, moving or immobile constructs or they can be used to manipulate the stones in the earth or stone-built infrastructure in more creative ways such as splitting the ground open. In short, this magic allows spells with offensive, defensive, supplementary, and self-strength-buff capabilities. History History: The earliest memory of her childhood to stick with Cailin is the one of her playing with her father's sword. More specifically, she remembers how adorable her father found it. He was a professional mercenary who had always seen bulky, hairy men carrying swords, and the sight of a little girl carrying one was an amusing change. It was perhaps this otherwise insignificant event which made the young toddler so curious about weaponry and the people who carried them. Then again, it might have simply been the fact that she grew up in a traveling mercenary camp surrounded by such things all the time. Either way, it became very apparent from a young age that she was destined to be a fighter. The only question in her youth became for what cause she would one day fight for; the conquest of a state, the earning of renown, or the protection of others? Cailin was trained by her father in adolescence when it became clear she desired to join him as a mercenary. That training formally ended in her late teenage years and culminated with her becoming an official part of the mercenaries with which she traveled. Her father was very restrictive with her, however. He rarely allowed her to leave his side when a battle commenced, something she resented to the point that she left the mercenary group just three years after being formally let in. She instead set out to make her own group and gathered up the younger and just as inexperienced (but nonetheless ambitious) mercenaries to form its core. Although these people valued their personal freedom greatly, Cailin, of course, acted as this group's de facto leader. She named them the "Clovers" and very quickly after forming, they were taking up jobs just as their fathers had. The Clovers had a rocky time at best as mercenaries. They took the most dangerous jobs they could find to maximize profits and since they lacked a great deal of experience for the most part, they suffered heavy casualties every time. At some point, they had lost so many people that they could hardly be called a proper mercenary group anymore. Their failure reached a climax one spring, and the Clovers became desperate enough to find a new means of feeding themselves—banditry. They took to several forests in Fiore and began to rob travelers en masse. It proved both profitable and safe as the travelers they robbed very rarely fought back. Of course, troubles came when people began hiring wizard's guilds to subdue the Clovers. This sent them on the run but they made sure to rob everyone and everything on the way. This terror they inflicted on people would eventually lead to their downfall. An aging wizard by the name of Eustis eventually became fed up with the Clovers when he learned they had a family near his own home. He traced them down and with a single powerful spell, he defeated the entire group. He spared them, though, and instead had local Rune Knights carry them off and do whatever justice demanded. Each one received his or her just due and sentenced to the Era Dungeons Cailin was given the longest sentence of thirteen years for being the supposed mastermind of the operation. With that, Fiore forgot about Cailin and the Clovers. She spent her entire sentence within a lonely, isolated cell with nothing but rats to keep her company. It was more than enough time for the lowly bandit leader to consider all the wrong she had wrought about on the poor and innocent souls of Fiore. It was rare that the Era Dungeons actually brought about a change of heart in criminals but the exception seemed to have been made for Cailin. When she finally had her freedom returned to her after thirteen long years, she vowed to truly repay her debts to society in some way. The guards that had kept watch over her laughed at this vow but eventually, word of her desire reached the ears of old Eustis, the wizard who had defeated her years before. He was impressed that she left the dungeons with such a heart and sought her out. He told her he would teach her a little of his magic if she promised to use it to protect the defenseless, to which she agreed. The next four years were marked by intense study, though, it truly did result in Cailin learning only the basics of how to use magic. Eustis passed away after the four years and before he could teach her much more. His dying wish was simply that Cailin keep her promise. She agreed once more, of course, but this time with tear-filled eyes. After that, she set out to find a place where she might carry out that goal despite her past. Not much later, she was on her way toward Lamia Scale. Reference: N/A |
