So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | The morning bliss accompanies the warming gaze of the sun that lingered over the town, peering through the hidden window in an attempt to illuminate the room that was engulfed in darkness. She lay there, lifelessly after having finally fall into a deep slumber after the help of a few beverages that had accompanied her the previous night. Thoughts had become a burden, she simply wanted to sleep but her wander lusting mind would not let her do so. After hours and hours of drinking had she finally fallen into darkness without a single thought of consciousness or a mere memory haunting her. Her blonde hair was sprawled all over the white duvets that were roughly covering her body. Her bare leg was hanging off her bed, exposed to the chilling air in the room as her head was faced sideways on the fluffy pillow where a tad bit of drool had escaped onto. She felt and most definitely looked like a mess. The sound of the door knocking evaded her ears as unconsciousness slowly began to slip away from her fingers. Her eyebrows knitted inwards to form a frown as her face scrunched up upon the feeling that came along with the headache that seeped through her head. A groan left her parted lips as she remained there, hoping that the commotion of knuckles banging against the wooden doors will halt but alas, it appeared that fate despised her taking a break from life. With a frustrated sigh, she slowly lifted herself upwards, using her arms to push her body into a seating position as a yawn gave way through her lips. Scratching er scalp, she sat there for seconds with her eyes tightly clasped shut in an attempt to subside the headache but it was of no avail. Annoyance began to seep through her body as the knocking wouldn't stop, causing her to drowsily slip out of the warmth of her duvets and onto the cool ground on which she leisurely tried walking but got no more than three feet away from the bed as she tripped over the rolling beer bottles that adorned her floor, constantly reminding her of how much of a mess she was. Placing a hand of her head and using her fingers to gently massage her temples, she hauled herself up and proceeded to move towards the door, this time, watching where she was headed. Clasping the handle, she unlocked the door and pulled it open to reveal a delivery boy who simply handed her a letter before tipping the hem of his cap and walking away after conforming with her, her identity using the the same words that every other delivery boy had so far used, 'Miss.Queen' to which she simply nodded. As she closed the door upon his departure, curiosity caused lilac eyes to drift onto the writing on the letter, the front of which read in neat handwriting, "To Miss.Xandra Queen. From Dr.Gerard.' This was more than surprising. He didn't seem to be the type of person who sent a message for an insignificant reason. |

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | As she opened the letter, her eyes drifted over the long paragraphs that explained his situation. Small black letters caused her eyes to sway from left to right, moving non-stop as she couldn't help but sense the tone of seriousness the letter withheld. There must be some serious issue for her to ask for the females help. He had never before asked her for assistance unless it was sincerely required by the doctor, in regards to saving someone's life and as someone who upheld the title of a Knight, it was no surprise that he would ask the help of someone whose duty was to help and protect others. The letter read, "Good Morning, Miss.Queen. I apologize for disturbing you at such a time and of course, at such a short notice. I am also deeply sorry that I wasn't able to convey this information to you in person but as you may already know, I am quite busy. I am in the midst of investigating a new virus that is rapidly spreading through the town. It appears as if it is a new virus. However, it is proving to be very dangerous as it spreading very quickly and at a large scale. Anyone who is affected by this virus is becoming viciously enraged, attacking anyone they in sight. It is proving to be very difficult to control them and it has become a threat to the civilians. As you may have realized by now, this is a serious problem. We need to find a cure as soon as possible. You see, this virus simply does not affect humans alone, but is also contaminating animals. This is where you come in. I need your assistance. There have been reports of wildlife being affected and them acting violently. A pack of boars that live right on the outskirts of the town are particularly proving to be more aggressive and difficult to handle than usual. I need you to sedate one of those boars and bring them back to me. Please do not kill it. I need it to be alive so I can examine it and hopefully, find an antidote to this cure. Please, Miss.Queen. I am depending on you." Once she had finished skimming through the letter, she found herself wide awake after fully understanding the content of the piece of paper. All the alcohol in her body had drained away as now, her concerns were no longer related to recent incidents within her own life, but more so with the lives of others that were endangered because of this newly spread virus. Indeed, doctor Gerard was a hard-working man who took his profession seriously, giving her the incentive to do the same. if he needs her assistance, that is what she will offer to him. Quickly slipping into the shower, she let the water wash over her skin before quickly slipping onto a pair of jeans and a shirt before tying her hair into a ponytail. This was field work and she might have to use her magic, but she was simply not ready. |

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | It took her approximately twenty minutes to reach the destination that was written at the back of the letter, telling her the location of the boars. With her hair tied up, her spear in her hand and her senses sharpened, she was prepared to hunt for some boars. Lilac eyes skimmed through the forest, wandering from side to side as her steps were slow and cautious. From the information she had received, it was better that she remain hidden underneath the cover of natural vegetation which would hopefully camouflage her presence. Moreover, she assumed that the virus would also have taken away the animal's sense of reason and hopefully, awareness. She desperately hoped that she could notice them first before they pounced on her and it seemed as if for once, fate had sided with her. Those predatory eyes landed upon a pack of boars, hauling together, wildly eating out an animal that she assumed was their unfortunate victim. The scent of blood caused her to scrunch her nose in a distasteful manner. Bending down, she remained hidden underneath the bushes, hoping to find an opening, hoping that one of them separates themselves from the pack and perhaps then, her task would be so much easier. Her breaths became heavier as the sounds around her decreased upon the halting of the cool breeze that rushed through the leaves. She was simply praying that just this once, luck would be on her side but alas, it was naive of her to even think of that as legs being unable to remain in the crouching position, caused her to slip backwards. The sound of cracking wood underneath her weight seemed to have attracted the attention of one of the boars as it slowly left it's feast and headed over in her direction. Perhaps this was for the better she thought. After all, she did need only one. As the animal stepped closer and closer, she returned into a crouching position, hoping to pouch on it before it dug it's tusks through her flesh. Her heart beat quickened as she could hear it's steps halt. Why did it do so? It was then that a loud sound escaped its mouth as charged straight towards her, having spotted her. With eyes widened, she pushed herself towards her right, rolling on the dirty ground and just barely getting away from the wild boar that halted it's sprint, facing her way with an angry scowl on her face. Ah, she knew that this wouldn't be easy and it sure did prove to be difficult with those blood shot eyes of the creature that stared at her like she was a piece of meat waiting to be eaten. From the corner of her eyes, she glanced sideways, looking towards it's previous prey and cringing upon the sight of blood everywhere accompanied by it's ripped skin through which, light pink fleshy internal organs dowsed in blood were displayed. Oh how she wished she would not end up like that. Then again, there was a difference between a helpless deer and a mage of Knighthood. |

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | Pulling her spear close to her, holding it so that the handle was facing upwards whereas the blade was facing towards the ground behind her body as to not disrupt her movement, she readied herself into a fighting stance. As the boar charged at her, she too did the same, clasping onto the handle of the spear with both hands. Once the creature was close enough, attempting to gauge her flesh out with it's tusks, the tip of her right foot hit the ground, immediately pivoting to let her change her position and stance as now, she was moving sideways on the creatures right side. Before it was able to halt, knowing that she couldn't hurt it, she slammed the circular edge of the handle of the spear into it's torso, jabbing at the bone that protected it's organs with enough intensity to cause it to lose its balance and be pushed towards the opposite side, falling into a position. She knew that if it got back up, it would possibly be a lot more aggressive than it was before so she wasted no time, launching herself right behind the moving creature, and once again jabbing it in the same place. Her action repeated a few times until the creature seemed to have sustained enough injuries that would prevent him from moving. However, it still tried to get up. The blonde always had a liking towards animals as she always refrained from hurting them in any way. But this time, it was not just her life that was on the line, it was also the possibility of saving many more that made her heave a large side before vertically raising her spear and slamming down the blunt edge into the creature's head with enough strength to knock it unconscious, but not enough to cause it to bleed. Yes, she had done it. Now all she had to do was bring the creature back to the doctor and her work was finished, or so she thought. The grunts behind her caught her attention as she found herself turning. With widened eyes, her instincts took over, causing her to jump to the side as another boar from the pack attacked her but fortunately for her, missed. Uh oh, she was in deep trouble. Surrounding her were the remaining boars of the pack who looked like they would tear her apart any second now but if only they knew, that she wouldn't let them. One of the creatures jumped at her from the right, causing her to swiftly move backwards before slamming the blade of spear straight through the boar's body. She wasn't entitled to bring more than one alive and as much as she hated it, she had to kill them in order for her own self to survive. Landing on the ground in a pool of it's own blood, the boar fell but that didn't stop the others from mindlessly attacking her as they launched themselves from all corners. Drops of sweat rolled down her face as she slashed one of them after the other, striking their vital organs to ensure a clean kill. Once all of it was done, she sighed before dragging the unconscious boar back to the doctor's office where she laid it onto the table. The tired doctor merely thanked her and rewarded her before quickly getting to work. |
