Hatsuharu
It was finally time. The Rune Knight squad had made their way out of the city of Drannor, crossed the river, and were on their way towards the hill atop which the Phantom Lord guild base stood. More than scared, the healer was most curious as to how they were going to accomplish this momentous task of taking down an infamous dark guild. It wasn’t even because he thought they were a bunch of Seated Knights and are incapable of fighting. He trusted his superiors enough that he believed they wouldn’t send them as fodder, or at least he hoped. What was most curious to him was how they were going to begin the confrontation. Even he knew walking up to their guild base and knocking on their door was a bad idea.

Looking around, Haru noticed that they were on a barren flatland that stretched until the horizon to his right and left. Behind him, about a few kilometres away, was the main city across the river, and ahead of him were the mountains. There were barely any rocks around them, and what few of them that existed were at best around the size of a football. Up ahead, about three hundred meters from where he stood was the base of the short hill atop which sat the Phantom Lord’s guild. It looked like the hill was thirty meters high at best. Thankfully, it was not at all steep. We could just walk up that hill, the healer thought to himself. The last thing he wanted was to climb a steep cliff and fall to his death; so, this was good news.

Being very close to noon, the sun was high up in the sky. The cloudless sky allowed every bit of light through, making even this barren wasteland look vibrant. Being one of the fastest in the squad, he chose to be a little ahead of the rest. In case they were sprung with an ambush, he had the best chances of escape. However, he ensured that he was never too far ahead to be cut off from the rest of them. So far, the healer saw nothing suspicious in his vicinity, but remained cautious. He would wait for the others to position themselves as they like, before moving any further towards the hill.

Even if he hadn’t fully come to terms about how he felt about using his lightsabre, it was still safely tucked under his belt. If people are going to get hurt, it was better if it were those who deserve it than the innocent ones. And for that sole purpose, he shall fight if it comes down to it.

Akira Shimada
Bright sun light shattered the sky. It was a clear spring day, had Akira not been a little preoccupied with what lay ahead, she'd have stopped to enjoy the clarity. The horizon, a stark contrast of brown and blue, with almost nothing interrupting it on either side. Behind them the silhouette of the town was still visible, but its size diminishing as they walked on. Up ahead the mountains seemed to be growing taller as they approached them...

The golden orb hovered them, unapologetically shining on, right above them, proud and strong. Akira sighed, this was probably going to be no fun. Aki was no specialist, and it annoyed her, that the faction's members had not been given any clear instructions on exactly how to go about this operation. She thought it was fair to assume, that as usual, they were probably supposed to avoid casualties and try to do this in a manner that gave the citizens of Drannor minimal reasons to panic. The soercerer wondered if there was any shred of a chance that the Phantom Lord guild members would just come quietly. If they were truly convicted for the alleged atrocities they were being charged for, they'd be locked away for a long time... They had nothing to lose anymore. This was probably not going to go down to peacefully.

At least the Phantom Lord's guild was not in the main town, so citizen casualties would not be as much of a risk. They'd crossed the river that separated the outskirts from the main land. Now they had to march onward towards the shallow hill that the guild sat atop. Aki scanned the barren land around them. Mostly a flat, hard slightly rough floor, covered with a thin sheet of soil. She noticed the footsteps behind her, that easily got swept away with the very gently breeze that'd usher in like a gift ever so occasionally. Other than that, it was rather still. One of those days, that seemed painted with perfection, with sharp colors and clarity.

Tsuru and she had decided to walk a little ahead of the rest of the group. Simply because they were among the fastest in the group sent out here. It was interesting, each person in the crew had their own little trait to offer... She smirked, well if nothing else, maybe she could glean some pleasure out of fighting alongside the few Knights she did possess immense respect for. The more reasonable variety of Knights, the newly crowned Seated Knights. She was armed and ready, if things went south, though once again strategically thinking, she knew she may have to rely on more than just her weapon. She and Tsuru walked beside each other, but there was about six feet of space between them, each hoping that if it came down to it, they'd be able to protect the other, while not becoming collateral damage. 'Well... Almost there.' she said to Tsuru, unsure if she'd been loud enough. Her eyes peered towards the hill, that was a little less than half a kilometer away, maybe an odd three-hundred or three-hundred and fifty more meters to scale, till when things became a bit more of an uphill climb, probably figuratively and literally. Noticing the healer stop, she too paused, it was probably a good time to group and stratgise, although this barren land didn't really leave anything for them to do...

Requiem
The assassin glared angrily at the bright clear sky and the rather depressing lack of cover. Darkness and misdirection were what Requiem had ingrained into the very fiber of her being. It didn't help that she was still just a page and had little real experience with an actual battle. Sure she had taken lives before, but those had been with quick, economic attacks that ended the fight before it began.

This...this scared her. She knew her chances, knew that a strike of fate could render her worse than useless, but she would be damned if she missed this opportunity to strike against those who had sentenced themselves to damnation. As a disciple of Illumin, she believed that everyone deserved a second chance. From what she had heard about the targets though, these people had not only turned their backs on the laws of God and man, but one had even embraced the heart of all that was evil. An unforgivable sin deserved punishment. Jaeger sat perched on her shoulder, ready to fly at a moment's notice in case of failure to deliver the scroll tucked away wherever the flying lemur kept stuff. She was towards the back of the group, her sensitive ears pricked for any sketchy sounds indicating a threat. But still near enough that she could run to the safety of numbers should an ambush from behind happen.

Focus, but not taut. Loose, but not limp. Soft but firm. The hand that takes a life must be merciful and brutal.

The mantra that Echidna assassins had been taught echoed in her head. Words she had lived by but hated. Now they would once more guide her in her first battle as she looked at her companions. She feared the fighting, but she feared failing people that would depend on her even more.

She cast an angry glare at the sky again. No cover, no shadows. If it had been up to her, she would've chosen somewhere closer to the city where there were trees and buildings that would allow for manoeuvring. However, that would also mean a very good chance of civilian casualties. Perhaps it was a good thing to be fighting out this far away from the city.

Fiammetta Barone

Fiammetta Barone

It was a nice day.

And Fia would've loved to have spent it enjoying the warm weather and the clear air, perhaps with Esperia by her side. But, no such pleasures were here to take on this occasion. Instead, she found herself upon boring and barren grounds, marching alongside some of her fellow knights as they left the town behind them, and approached the den of the prey.

Fiammetta Barone was in her usual combat attire, with her light but firm Gi for protection, and iron gauntlets to give her blows that extra impact. She didn't bother with anything else. As far as she was concerned, this was gonna be a fight, plain and simple, so why dress for anything else?

As Fia continued on, at the center of the group of companions, under a brilliant sun on flat plains, she wore a near constant scowl of animosity. She'd heard what Phantom Lord had done in the past, and she knew what would happen if they continued to exist. The plain and simple truth was that the world was going to be a helluva lot better without them, even if getting to that point wasn't gonna be easy. No chance in hell they were just gonna walk out. Bastards wouldn't pass up a chance to try and prove their superiority, that just wasn't the Phantom Lord way.

Fia didn't particularly mind, though.

If she had to tear the whole place down, she was ready to try her damnedest to do just that. From what Fia could see, there wasn't anything else around she needed to worry about damaging. Aside from her own allies, of course. But otherwise, there was just the Phantom Lord clan upon that quaint little hill, and all the empty space around them.

Fia glanced up at the pair ahead of her. 'Scarface' and 'Giggles', as she'd called them. She didn't know much about them, other than that they were good people with some smart heads on their shoulders. Fia walked along only about 8 meters behind them, giving her nimble allies room to scout, while also not leaving them on their own if they got jumped. Not that there was anywhere nearby to set up an ambush, really.

"Are we there yet..." A certain feline groaned. The dark mass of fur that was magus-turned-cat Salem Saberhagen clung to Fiammetta's shoulder, the bastard was far to lazy to walk himself, of course.

"Yeah, yeah, we're gettin' there..." Fia grumbled back, her expression only souring further. She looked back ahead, to see Hatsu (AKA Scarface) stop in his tracks, and his 'companion' (Fia never really did figure out the deal with those two...) stopped beside him. Following suit, Fia halted her approach as well, waiting for any indication to keep moving. They were still about 300 meters out from the hill, but Fia guessed they wanted to make sure everyone was ready before moving any further.

Fia just let a soft sigh into the air as she situated herself within formation, about 10 meters behind the front two, and right in between them on the other axis. She could get being cautious, but truthfully, Fia was feeling more than ready to just rush in, jump the damn hill, and tear them up from the foundations. But she trusted the tacticians for now, so remained still.

Phantom Lord would get what was coming, regardless. She didn't mind waiting just a little longer.

Shura Ranzu †
Days like this did not come very often. Word traveled quickly throughout town that a bunch of knights had come into town. It was openly known the Phantoms owned this town. Shura made that very clear when he first joined the guild. The Rune Knights knew better than to poke around here without some form of repercussions. It seems they finally found their courage, shame Shura was in town during that time. The doors of Phantom Lord opened calmly while a group approached from down the hill. Shura came walking out in his combat attire. He walked about twenty meters out from the main building while the doors closed. His gauntlets were on the belt of his Gi.

He had not equipped them yet due to wanting to finish his cup of coffee. A toffee flavored liquid crept down his throat. To any normal person it would have burned their mouth and throat. To Shura on the other hand it was lukewarm. While walking out he sipped from his cup more because the group of attackers weren't even close enough to do anything. Maybe they weren't here to attack, maybe they wanted a tour of the building due to wanting to defect? Shame things were never that easy.

He let out a yawn while he waited for the group to cover the distance stated before. Sitting at the top of the hill Shura had the high ground so the advantage was his for the moment. The thing was they had numbers which made things interesting. Looking down the hill he counted four people. He squinted a bit to try and make out who they were.

“Only four Knights? Well that's kind of disappointing. Maybe they are the elite unit? Or maybe just expendable foot soldiers?”

Regardless of what they were to the Rune Knights they indeed were brave, or very stupid. Sometimes the two blurred quite often. Shura stood firm at twenty meters away from the guild, just drinking his coffee that was almost gone. Sure he could rush down the hill at full speed but why get all tuckered out before the fight really began. Not to mention they are the ones who came to town to start trouble. The Phantoms had been keeping to themselves for the most part. If anything the Rune Knights were the bad guys coming to lay waste to a peaceful place. It was a matter of perspective really. Also three hundred meters was a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time, Shura just wasn't feeling it till they got in range.

“Today should be interesting.”

Asura Nightshade
What would have been an ordinary day within the life of the young blonde had quickly and far too surprisingly, taken a turn for the better or worse, yet undecided when she was informed that they would be venturing into the endeavor of ceasing the dark guild known as Phantom Lord. The ball of light shone brightly within the sapphire expanse, caressing its rays onto the barren lands that surrounded the expanse of the city of Drannor. White and blue lined the skies, signs of life almost non-existent within the blazing sun that still however, allowed the smooth touch of a light breeze to grace whoever ventured among these lands. Barren was the perfect word for it; empty, no sign of life, a limitless expanse of nothingness that overlooked the city wherein civilians sat proceeding through their everyday life without a sign of worry of the happenings that would soon elapse just miles outside the outskirts of the city, where except a few protruding small rocks, there was nothing of significance except the hill that stood in the middle of the scene, housing upon it what was the guild that would soon, if fate had it, cease to exist.

Asura scrunched her eyes as she gazed up at the bright ball that ignited its radiance upon them as she lifted herself up from the sand that she had previously been sitting on. The girl cast a curious glance to her partner, another blonde haired woman where the two could be mistaken for twins had one not known them at all. The Nightshade stretched her arms out as Rei came bouncing towards her, circling the female as she gently patted him on the head. Looking up at the other female, the blonde let out a deep breath that was dwindling with the remnants of anxiety.

However, unlike her fellow allies, the two blonde women were completely on the opposite side of them, miles away having started their journey, hours before the rest. Now, they stood, gazing at the behind of the Phantom Lord guild from the bottom of the hill. The two Seated's had, rather in a hurry, due to lack of time, departed late at night the previous day, when the moon shone in all its glory and treaded the barren land except, from the other side of the city which would lead them directly to the back of the guild. Wherein her fellow Knights had decided to engage the dark mages up front, hoping to avoid confrontation and get them to cooperate, the duo had left earlier and arrived hours prior, merely waiting there in case some form of ambush or infiltration was required to be done. Now, as the time neared for the Knights to reach the guild, the two blonde women decided it was time for them to wait there patiently for the outcome of the negotiation.

The blonde adjusted her sword and shoulder plates as they looked at the eighty four meter incline. Rather shallow and easy with hardly any patches, it would allow for an easy climb, in case they needed to go upfront. However, for the time being, they stood there as Asura looked at the other girl and muttered, "Now, we wait."

The eerie noon sky loomed over the deadly silence of the vicinity as lilac eyes gazed towards the hue of sapphire and white, finally realizing what the calm before the storm felt like. Gentle winds blazed past the barren land as if commemorating the start of the war that the magic council had waged against Phantom Lord. Placing her hands behind her head, the black shirt that adorned her torso was dirtied by the land that they were attacking. Somehow, she couldn't help but feel sorry the members of the guild that would soon be abolished. The blonde was definitely one who would prefer that this commotion is settled with as little violence as possible but that hardly seemed to be a possibility as she doubted that mages, especially those being attacked, would simply comply to the demands of the council that showed no signs of hiding it's corruption. However, she to couldn't simply let these people off the hook. She was given a task and she would accomplish it, even if it meant having to get rid of those that got in her way.

Heaving a sigh, she listened to the silence, catching the distant sounds of marching or perhaps that was simply her imagination. Regardless, she knew that the time to attack was approaching and quick. As she leisurely laid on the slope of the hill, she tilted her head only to have the top half of the guild in her line of sight. Alas, it would be better if no one caught them there but that again, may prove to cease from being a possibility. Acknowledging the presence of her partner in this situation, she glanced at the blonde woman before shifting her gaze to the long crimson scythe that laid to her side; her trump card. If her calculation was right, no one would be able to spot them unless they stood at the edge of the hill top. Glancing at her partner, she couldn't help but scoff in amusement. Not only had they fought together only once, but perhaps pairing them up was a good idea as Asura battled close ranged combat whereas the blonde more or less specialized in attacking at a further range.

It was time. As the sun loomed high over the sky, she knew that it was about time they got to work. Having been resting there for some time now had caused quite a bit of boredom but regardless, the thought of having to get up simply to fight against people who refused to surrender sounded like such a pain. Sighing yet again, she hauled herself into a sitting position before standing up and dusting the dirt off her casual attire that she wore. As she bent down, her right hand grabbed the long handle of her scythe before pulling it up and swinging it over her shoulder, enough so that the three parting blades of the scythe were far enough from her own skin to hurt it. Balling her free hand into a fist, she stretched it out as much as possible to relieve her body of stiffness that accumulated after a long stale rest.

"Let's get this over with." Xandra would reply to Asura's suggestion of departing to the guild. Looking at the slightly steep hill, she could hear the sounds of the Phantom Lord guild members preparing for this war on the front. All she could do at that time was have faith in her fellow Knights. Although she wasn't overly familiar with them, she knew that they were capable enough to handle themselves. She and Asura were handed a task that she was determined to accomplish. If needed, she could easily walk over the slightly rocky patches that covered the slope of the hill, using her long legs to saunter through the approximately two hundred and seventy-five feet of mere bumpy surface.

Once they stood at the foot of the hill, they were ready to charge forth if needed. Upon hearing the other blonde's words, she set her scythe down while Asura sat, facing the blades towards the bottom while she leaned against the handle of her weapon in a way that was comfortable, yet her feet were positioned such that she would be able to move immediately if a surprise attack were to approach. She was ready to fight.

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Thu Apr 12, 2018 8:54 pm

Jeremiah Ali
Jeremiah walked down the stairs of his guild with Samehada strapped to his back and his mask hidden on his waist underneath his cloak. Following him was his guardian companion Shaba, someone who's sole purpose was to follow Jeremiah and protect him at all cost. Though the Savannian didn't nee anyone to keep him safe necessarily he appreciated the Dardian more than anyone in this world. The guild was lively today, the Phantoms seemed to be chilling for the most part. Jeremiah's eyes scanned the hall util they landed on just the man he was looking for, someone he respected - probably the only person besides Joan, and Tecka that he actually acknowledged. Bodak too, but he hadn't seen the brown Phantom lately.

The dark skinned demon walked out of the guild but swung the door open widely giving Miah enough time to catch the door before it fully closed with Shaba following behind him. The young slayer wanted to catch Shura just for a simple conversation about what he planned to do now that he was back but Revenant seemed to have plans of his own. As Shura walked out of the guild, the pair of Savannian beings followed, stopping about ten meters behind him, so he couldn't exactly see what he was seeing. From his words there seemed to be Rune Knights approaching them. Only four soldiers? That didn't seem right. From the war with Grimoire Heart Jeremiah knew that the Rune Knights wouldn't send 4 simple knights to deal with an entire guild. Especially not one as infamous or as strong as Phantom Lord was. Surely many of them had bounties by now. "Only Four? Sounds like a set up to me." He said to himself, though he was loud enough for Shura to hear him as well. "I sense that we will win, Mwalimu." The Dardian's voice was calming despite it's rocky sound. Shaba always found way to keep the demon slayer with a clear head.

"We will Shaba. Come on." Jeremiah swiftly grabbed the mask from within his cloak and placed it onto his face. He then to the left side of the guild, to scout the area, Shaba keeping a 5 meter distance from him as his master did so. There was nobody on the left side of the guild, so Jeremiah continued to move forward before stopping when he saw that there was nobody behind the guild hall. Nobody at all...

"Watch the left side of guild, we don't know where else they'll be coming from and we gotta keep the guild safe."

Shaba nodded. The young demon slayer walked closer towards the right side of the guild stopping as he came towards the edge of the hill. First he he turned his head only to see that there was nobody on the right side of the guild, but he wanted to make sure he analyzed the area. Being the analytical person that he is, he peered over the the hill easily and made sure not to kick any rocks or make any noise. Ooga Booga's eyes and mouth radiated a neon green glow so there was really no words to be spoken, it was like the mask spoke for itself. The women would no doubt spot him but it wasn't like he was trying to hide anyway. One woman stood with an animal beside her and the other leaned on a scythe-like weapon, he made sure to be weary of both. Seeing them from that far down he was sure they were both attractive. Sucks really, he could have given them both dick if they weren't going to die.

The mask Jeremiah wore was the same mask that he wore during the war with Grimoire Heart. It was the same mask that he murdered many many Rune Knights in and it was the same mask that he killed countless Grimoire Heart mages in... all for a purpose that he blindly committed himself to... all for a purpose that he realized was never "correct" to begin with. With the distance between him and the two women he knew going to them was not his best option. He did know, however, that he now had a real reason to murder Rune Knights today.

The burning sentation had all but sedated the woman. Supplies had all but stopped for the guild, but she noticed them slow down. Even the delivery team from the bakeries in Oak hadn't stopped by today. She knew something was wrong. It was terrible wrong.

"I'M OUT OF TEQUILA!" she whined to herself. She had taken the day off to finish the half dozen bottles she had hidden away for this kind of day. Her feet dangled off the side of the roof as she stared off to the landscapes behind the guild. It was a beautiful day. How could anyone resist visiting a place like Oak.

But she could see the magnificent beasts wander the earth. Two large bears scavenging and hunting for food at the base of the hill. It was pretty, and it was  . . . wait what?

She squinted her eyes, her left hand flat and to het brow, she shaded her gaze. No, there were no bears in Oak, at least not skinny ones. Maybe they lost weight? No no, something was off.

"Miah. . . . " her eyes locked onto the man as he exited the guildhall. Surely this was his doing, bringing hookers into the guild again. She wasn't going to have this, not a fourth time. There was no way more tramps were going to get into Phantom Lord today.

She took her bottle and threw it to the opposite end of the guild, to the front of it, where her master sat.

She quickly climbed down from the top and swung into the building through the open window she had sat above. If Joan wasn't here to clean up Miah's mess, then surely Shura would knock some sense into him.

She ran through the guild hall towards the entrance to where Shura should have been still. From within the shaded corridors she'd cry out,

"HEY SHURA, THERE'S MORE HOOKERS COMIN' UP THE HILL, TWO OF 'EM!" She would speak only when in earshot, when she could see her master, "I SWEAR TO GOD IF THESE BITCHES DRINK ALL THE CHAMPAGNE AGAIN I'MA START A WAR!"

Haru had a plan, which he discussed with a few Rune Knight comrades the previous night and was immediately ridiculed for. He thought it would be honourable if they walked up to Phantom Lord’s guild hall and asked them to surrender, and if they did, they could just arrest them all and close the guild. The entire bunch laughed at him, thinking he was joking… until they realized he wasn’t. And when they did, they educated him on how terrible of an idea it was to just walk up to a dark guild’s base as a Rune Knight and not expect them to blast you away the moment they lay their eyes on you. With several of them reiterating the same fact, the healer figured it must be true.

So, instead of walking up to them and starting a conversation, it would seem the plan was now to run towards them, making the intent quite clear. After all, their orders were explicit. It was funny how the healer was still trying to avoid conflict, knowing that there was no way of stopping violence that day. In that brief moment he paused, he made up his mind. There was no point second guessing now; half the guild probably already saw them heading their way.

“Alright… Let’s get this going then,” he said, in a resigned tone. “Fia…. Take the lead, if you will. We will run alongside you, covering your flanks,” he said, turning first to the giantess and then to his dark-haired partner. He nodded at Akira and pointed further towards her left. If Fia agreed, Haru would position himself ten meters diagonally behind to the right of her. Then, turning towards Requiem, the healer requested her to watch their backs. “You stay behind us and ensure that no one sneaks up on us,” he said with a smile. The red-headed Knight had never seen this Neko before and knew nothing about her capabilities. So, he wished to keep her a good distance away from anyone who could seriously harm her.

Once they were all in position, it was time to go. “Let’s go,” he said, before beginning to run, keeping his eyes forward straight towards the guild, and keeping an eye out towards their right with his peripheral vision. He would keep the same pace as Fia, and would stop only if Fia or Akira had to stop for some reason, or if they were faced with an immediate resistance. Thanks to the momentum he had built up over the run-up, it would be easy for the quick Healer to keep his speed even after beginning to climb the hill. The hill seemed pretty even and flat all around, with barely any bumps. It looked like it wouldn’t be enough to slow him down or make him lose control of where he was going.

Maybe this wouldn’t go so bad, he thought to himself, but already knew they put themselves in a shit-show and he was just delusional to believe otherwise.

Akira Shimada
It had been tough, to get everyone on the same plane on how to approach this situation. At least they were expecting reinforcements... But something about the usual inefficiency of the administrative Rune Knights made her doubt that they'd arrive in time, if at all. As they paused briefly, to regroup and enter the formation, she wondered how the other squad, or rather pair, was doing. It was not pleasant to part with Asura, but she did trust Xandra enough. The glue holding them together was trust, something that was rather difficult for Aki, who usually expected betrayal at every turn... But not today, given that she wasn't fighting with complete strangers. She'd worked alongside every other member, except for the assassin. Hopefully, all would go well, but Aki wasn't a very hopeful person.

They had been given some data about the dimensions of the guild. Some plans that had been stolen... some undercover agent that had taken notes. Aki didn't trust it all, but as she scanned the exteriors from where she stood, most of the data seemed to check out. As a strategist, her spatial understanding was good enough to allow her to verify. The guild was about fifteen meters in height, including the hemispheric dome on top of it. Just two floors high, with the first, being constructed upon a base that was fifteen meters in length and breadth. The second floor was a little smaller than the first, the dimensions were about a meter shorter. There was a courtyard that extended in front, about twenty meters. Pillars that matched the height of the guild extended upwards, right next to the corners, their diameter was a meter and a half. Two more sat at the front of the courtyard, almost at the edge of the hill, each exactly in line with the ones that decorated the corners. All of it aided in the regal presentation of the guild.

There wasn't the time for, nor the need, to exchange too many words. Tsuru had been the hardest to convince about the assault, but he understood... Perhaps everything they'd been through together finally wore out his garb of honor and now he salvaged the dregs left behind, by the sort of suggestions he made. Aki didn't make fun of it anymore, she'd learned to accept it. She gauged the time it would take for her to reach the plateau on which the structure of the guild stood. Since nothing had happened yet, perhaps that was when things would really get confrontational. Considering she could get to her top speed in about four seconds, she could scale the entire distance in a little over sixteen seconds had she been all by herself, but she wasn't and she'd have to regulate accordingly. Tsuru could've probably kept up with her, but Fia was to lead and they were to follow... The strategy was quite simple.

Aki really needed to have her revenge and find a nickname for the Titan; that 'giggles' thing had stuck... 'Requiem, take Fia's help if you need, to keep pace.' was all she said before taking her spot. It made sense to give Fia the place she needed. Aki was six meters behind Fia and eight meters to the Titan's left. The distance between her and her saber wielding partner increased to about sixteen meters. Aki was still in line with him, she could only take solace in the fact that they were fast enough to reach each other if things went wrong. It was time to move.

She would keep pace with the one leading, as they proceeded unless the situation demanded otherwise. It was up to the Titan magic wielder if she wanted to issue a verbal warning, to at least give the members a chance to surrender should they want, but from the way they were streaking up towards the guild, their intent would already be pretty plain.

Requiem
A frontal assualt...Really? That...is the last thing one would expect. When the idea had been pitched, Requiem had fervently argued against it. Instead suggesting a sneak attack at around sunrise, when a guard would be lax and the fears of the night fade as the sun rose.

However, when he laid out the details of his plan, the girl found herself interested and supported it. Now though, the last minute jitters kicked in before she banished those thoughts and kept pace, allowing herself to fall about ten yards back from the group. Close enough to react to an attack from the rear but not so close that a single AOE spell could hit her along with them. Her sensitive ears had picked up the voice of a woman who sounded like she was near the door. The assassin had to resist the urge to face palm at the absurdity of the idea that had popped into her mind. A dark guild's best defense was being hidden and somehow having prostitutes show up with a regularity that provoked such a statement seemed counter intuitive. Although stealth may have been thrown out the window by building A FREAKING CASTLE.

Anywaaaayyy....She had to ignore the blush on her cheeks as she would get ready to set up in a crouch once they stopped moving, eyes open for any chance to exploit and any flanks to prevent. The cult had given her a rudimentary learning in battle tactics, opting for the girl to have more ability with say stabbing a vital organ repeatedly with accuracy.

Requiem moved swiftly and silently, doing her best to remain unnoticed as she waited for the right moment to act.

Fiammetta Barone

Fiammetta Barone

Fia was starting to get a bit on edge as they waited. If it had been her choice, the Phantoms wouldn't have even been given a warning before they started slapping cuffs on people. But, the eggheads of their squad weren't too keen on the fast and loose approach, and she trusted their cautious approach as long as she got to do what she came there to do.

Though, if she was being honest, the idea of not even offering a chance to surrender did bother her just a bit, the more she thought about it. Fia was anything but a pacifist, but she did believe in second chances. Hell, she'd be a hypocrite if she didn't, are after begging and praying that her father got one. It ran counter to her grudge, but the internal conflict was indeed there...

Regardless, they were finally moving again, with Hatsuharu telling them it was time, and ordering Fiammetta to take the lead. "'Bout damn time..." She groaned to herself as she stepped forward and past their frontmost scouts, nodding at their strategist's instructions. "Got it, Scarface. Let's go give 'em their fuckin' eviction notice." She quipped heartily, the cat upon her shoulder smirking as well. Though Salem was ambivalent at most about the current situation, he was curious to see the Titan's power at work again.

Taking her position in front of the group, looked at the distant guild and recalled the very precise details on it they were given. Truthfully, Fia hadn't paid much attention on the talk of the locale's size once she'd confirmed one thing. That she was bigger.

'Let's not scare 'em too much... Fia thought to herself, before initiating her transformation. Tightening muscles all over her body, vapor began to rise off her body as her muscles expanded, her entire body growing to a staggering 1173 centimeters. Her attire remained, stretched to her body, but her physical features seemed almost to be more primal, fully showing she'd become something not quite human anymore.

With a glance behind her, Fia confirmed that her teammates were in a position to follow, and thus began to lead the charge from her point position. Her massive gait meant she could keep the pace at her top speed, without seeming like she was putting too much effort into it. The Phantoms would get the site of Titan striding towards them, and Fia hoped that would at least dissuade them a little from putting up resistance.

"So, you gonna try and make them come quietly?" Salem, still on her shoulder, shouted into the Titan's ear as they covered the distance between their starting point in the hill. After a brief moment of pause, the Titan's low, deep voice answered simply.

"ONE...CHANCE..." A beast like voice replied. Salem grinned giddily, ever eager to see Fia lose herself, regardless of the final outcome. "Purrrrfect..."

Fia continued on as the vanguard, ready to take any blows intended for her allies. She'd march on stoically up the hill, her massive form undeterred by its meager slope. She didn't bother looking behind her to see if her allies were still following. She trusted them to be watching her back, as she stood face on against the main entrance.

Since she'd started up the hill, she'd noticed the solitary figure out the front of the guild, but didn't really start to look him over until she was about halfway up it. He looked to be wearing a gi like her. A hand-to-hand fighter huh? She could respect that. Who needed fancy swords and shields when God gave you a pair of fine blunt instruments on the end o' your arms?

"Careful Fia, that guy gives me the heebie-jeebies..." Salem groaned, but Fia was undeterred. From about 60 meters out from the guild, she started to speak up, her giant body producing a deep booming voice as she approached, her arms remaining at her side for some half-assed illusion of peaceful intent, though she remained on the lookout for attacks.

"DON' REALLY... NEED TO... SAY IT... BUT... YER UNDER ARREST..." She announced authoritatively, her pace slowing as walked nearer to the guild. She'd continue to speak, assuming she was uninterrupted, and would stop at clear attack or indication from those guarding her flanks. "ALL... PHANTOMS... ARE COMIN WITH US... FER YER CRIMES... THIS IS... YER EVICTION NOTICE."

Fia would slow down once again as she reached 40 meters from the guild, 20 from the man outside it. She just paced an extra five meters forward to 15 meters from the mystery man, to test for a counter-attack. Only if she wasn't attacked would she deliver her final warning, offering the only second chance she'd give them.

"YA GOT... ONE CHANCE... TO SURRENDER..." She announced with just a hint of sincerity. This was a courtesy, the only one she'd give. Fia, if she'd yet to be interrupted, would look down to the gi-clad man, and announce the clear alternative.

"OR... WE CAN... FIGHT..."

Since we are sticking to usual event rules of major battles. (Ark/Cell etc). 24hr per person, stay in order, if a person is skipped two times then they are ejected from thread and can't return.

Lets begin shall we?

The gang had begun to arrive one by one. During their arrive he finished his cup and tossed it to the side. The cup fell onto the hill and slide downward. Due to being already twenty meters out from the guild he would have been standing on the slope. Given the distance of the hill he was 30 meters away from the foot of the hill already. He listened to the words yelled by Jeremiah. He was on to something but something in the back of his mind told him not to worry. “More the merrier right?” Shura yelled back pressing his hand onto his left where a arm used to be. As he pulled his arm away creating the magical arm, a familiar voice echoed from the entrance of the guild hall. It was Bodak alerting them to more Rune Knights behind the guild.

“Jeremiah and Bodak cover that will ya!?” He yelled back.

The peanut gallery was assembled and were ready for action. Blue flames ignited and hardened into a usable limb covered in blue scales with clawed tips. He flexed the said hand to make sure everything was good to go. This also caused his hands to glow from the activation of another spell. Shura gazed upon the group at the group 330 meters away from him. He couldn't complain about the situation in front of him. He had been praying for some sort of real action for ages. Ever since his bout with Finn and the skeleton out in Dahlia. He chuckled at the idea, 'careful what you wish for right?'

During that same moment, Shura equipped both of his gauntlets prepared for the coming battle. His left foot was planted directly in front of him and he shifted his body to be facing the right. His left hand was the lead while his right was pulled back and rested closer to his chest. On his right hand he touched his thumb to his index finger for the right moment. Energy built up in his body with no indication from the outside. Should the Rune Knights come into a range of ten meters, Shura would open his mouth and unleash a flash from hell.

The group that was a ways away began to make a move. He could not hear what they were saying but he could see them starting to make their move. The Phantoms held the high ground in this situation. So there was really no reason to go charging down the hill at max speeds. Best to save stamina for when they got in range. Instead preparations where made. As they began their run across the large gap and up the hill. Every movement from here on out was crucial. This was exciting, so exciting Shura felt the need to give no mercy in this fight. They had number advantage in this situation so why should he not go at them with everything?

As they got closer they were going to find themselves in a predicament. Excitement radiated from his body creating a hazy, distorted, and fearful feeling to any who gazed upon him. If they choose not to well that would be even worse wouldn't it? Those who found themselves meeting his gaze would also feel their abilities sapped in a instant.

He could see one of them grow larger and lead the charge. Her voice echoed through the skies as she covered the distance moving at twenty meters a second with her party in tow. At that point it was irrelevant what she had to say, they made their choice at the point of advancing forward. They could have walked away without any problem. There was no reason to share words with them or rush down the hill. They were going to come to them. Given his own speed it would take roughly 16.5 seconds to reach Shura because he was 330 meters out from them. That's if they shared the same speed as him.

Fifteen meters stood between him and the first knight. He kept in mind there were others right behind her. The time had come.

#15Asura Nightshade

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Mon Apr 16, 2018 11:33 am

Asura Nightshade
The sun sat lazily in the sky as the two blonde women stood next to the hill, the eighty four meter incline lying ahead of them. Rei slowly paced next to the older blonde, her hands crossed across her chest as she gazed her sapphire orbs upwards, staring at the back wall of the guild of the Phantom Lord, the guild being exactly on top of the hill, with the outer walls almost hugging the incline that lay alongside its edges. The other Seated stood lazily next to her, leaning on her scythe, which was a first that Asura had seen and had rather, caused her to become a little star struck when she had first laid eyes on it but nonetheless, from Xandra's previous description of its abilities while they traveled, Asura would hope it would aid them.

Slight restlessness arose in her abdomen as she stared intently at the guild ahead of her, awaiting any signs of her fellow Rune Knights or any form of signal that they had arrived. She glanced her orbs over to the blonde next to her, wondering whether she felt the same form of nervousness that Asura did however, looking at her laid back gait, she assumed not. Regardless, she kept herself on full alert as she stood to the left of the other Seated. It was then that Asura's hues caught onto something and she lightly nudged Xandra and motioned with her chin to the top of the hill where they could make out the presence of an entity who seemed to be scaling around the guild.

While the person wasn't too visible from their current position, it seemed highly likely that this person belonged to Phantom Lord. Regardless of who it was, a slight uneasiness arose in Asura's stomach as she gazed at the person seemingly approaching from the left side of the guild, which would be their left as well considering the two were facing the back of it and positioning himself or herself, somewhere between the center of the back of the guild and the right side, in a way that would allow the person easy access to glance downwards the incline if they wished to. Which seemed to be the case as they did so and it would appear as if the person spotted the duo. Asura quickly glanced at Xandra, after noticing the figure's gaze and wondered what to do as of now. She assumed they'd follow through with their regular plan of action as she murmured in Xandra's direction, "Well, this person seemed to have noticed us. We should probably move, shouldn't we?" If Xandra were to agree, the two women would begin ascending the incline towards the unknown figure as Asura would keep a distance of two meters behind her partner with Rei swiftly jogging alongside her, about a arm's length to her left, as the trio would move at an approximate speed of eight meters per second.

As they approached the figure, more and more details started to become evident as they gazed forward. It seemed as though the figure was covered in a cloak as well as a mask, rendering the two completely unable to identify who this person might be. Regardless, Asura still had an unsettling feeling as she whispered to both Xandra and Rei, "We should be careful. Who knows what this person might be capable of." As she said that, she kept a hand on the hilt of her sword, ready to unsheathe it should the moment arise. As they neared the figure, the person's appearance became more clearer and at this point, Asura and Rei paused, with Asura trying to maintain a twenty two meters distance diagonally away from the figure, as she and her Umbreon stared upwards, in case something were to happen so that they could react accordingly.

Now, they could see the mask that the figure had donned clearly and for some reason, the blonde felt an odd tugging in her stomach as if she had seen this mask previously before. Asura, couldn't remember where exactly but the same sense of unsettlement registered in her stomach as she gazed at the person and knew that she had stumbled upon them before, but from where, she couldn't remember for the life of her. From the little that she did remember, she gauged that whoever this was, was a foe to not be underestimated and she hoped that Xandra wouldn't underestimate them either. Asura lightly glanced at Rei as she would wait for Xandra to take the lead while slowly, maneuvering her gaze around their surroundings, keeping an eye out for any potential threats nearby as her hand still remained on the hilt of her sword. All of a sudden, as she would hear a deep rumbling echo through the vicinity, alerting them of the titan's presence, Asura could safely assume that the others had arrived and now, it was time to put the plan into action.

Underneath the sheet of blue that would perhaps soon be stained crimson if any blood were to fly around, the blonde women awaited their time to shine. It was quite sad that their shining light may prove to be someone's demise but regardless, she was aware that there was nothing she could do about it. If she were to consider the stories foretold by Phantom's victims, if they were alive of course, the stabbing sensation of guilt lessened down to little, if none at all. Letting out a yawn, the blonde continued to face the back of the guild as she awaited a signal from the front. However, unknown to her and her partner was what the signal would be. They were to simply keep an eye out.

The lurking tranquility that surrounded the infamous guild raised the enigmatic atmosphere, carefully creating a suspenseful scene as she was left to wonder about the possibilities that would await them. However, there was no time to think about such things. She had to focus. Taking a quick glance to her left, lilac eyes spotted her partner ready for battle alongside her companion. Perhaps she too, needed to stop lazing around.

However, it would be unfair for her to say that to herself alone. As her eyes scouted the area, upon the nudge from her fellow blonde, they fell towards her left, noticing a figure loitering around as they scouted the area, commuting from the left of the guild towards the right. It was quite surprising that the person hadn't taken notice of them until they arrived midway between inclining hill from where she assumed, they could peer over to the left and the back side of the guild. Her gaze was immobile, noticing the neon light that emitted from his face as he stared directly at them.

With a small nod, she followed Asura's suggestion as they began jogging up the hill at a rather swift pace. Her hand grabbed the end of her scythe which she dragged over the hill as it gently scraped the ground rather threateningly. The seated knight couldn't help but groan as she felt a troublesome inkling graze her insides. Regardless of who the figure was, she sure hoped that they would much rather prefer to solve this in the least aggressive way possible. As a knight, she too had her own beliefs and one of them was to make her opponents surrender willingly instead of forcing them into it. Despite the chances appearing to be low, she still gave it a shot upon hearing the loud roar of the titan once they halted their steps.

Looking up at the man, who was approximately twenty diagonal meters away from her, she spoke, "You heard the lady. Er...well, titan. We wish to avoid having any unnecessary battle. Regardless of what you may wish to do, we're going to be taking down the guild one way or the other so I'll give you two options. You can take the easy way out and surrender to us or the hard way, we take you down and then proceed to destroy the guild hall. Take your pick."

Perhaps instigating a bit of fear within him would assist her purpose. A bright light surrounded her body as she now willingly handed it over to Raijin. Even though he may often prove to be troublesome, he is possibly one of her greatest assets in battle. Shutting her eyelids momentarily, she murmured, "Kaminari" as the darkness that surrounded her for less than a fraction of a second was filled with blue sparks of lightning. Similar sparks would surround her body, changing it to incorporate Raijin's tremendous presence as the length of her hair increases while it deepens a shade or two. Opening those lilac eyes that were much lighter before, she stared down at the cloaked persona who may prove to be their opponent. Taking a closer look at his mask, she could feel the unease hit her but alas, if they had to take him down, she would do. "We would prefer to avoid battle so why don't you just make it easier for both of us?"

If however, the likelihood of him surrendering was to reign over other possibilities, the blonde would ask the man to remove his mask, drop his weapon, take a few steps back and raise his hands to the back of his head just as a precautionary measure before swinging the scythe up to her shoulder. It would be so much easier if she could simply yell timber and take the guild down with mere strength but fate had always been a cruel fiend to her.

OOC Pt.2 (Spell Clarification):

A Phantom's Last Apparition Sig10
#17Jeremiah Ali

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Mon Apr 16, 2018 5:42 pm

Jeremiah Ali
The Savannian watched as the women approached him, turning to face them. They were brave though, as to be expected of Rune Knights who came to deal with Phantom Lord. It'd only take a brave lot to attempt taking them on. He analyzed everything. He saw the slight distance between the two girls and he saw the animal move beside the blonde haired girl without a scythe, obviously belonging to her. He also realized the speed in which they moved. However, Jeremiah was not fazed, not just yet at least. All he needed to do was a few things to make this end game and then he would make his way to help Shura. Bodak was back there just being retarded. At this point she was a joke, she was obviously lost but she was his guild mate nonetheless and she helped him on numerous occasions so he respected her.

Shaba, Jeremiah's Guardian Dardian had finally cleared the left side of guild before making his way over towards his master. Upon hearing Shaba move closer, the slayer began to speak... "There are two girls, one with a scythe and the other with a feline-like companion coming in this direction." Jeremiah spoke aloud to his companion. He was only loud enough for Shaba to hear him but before the beast could get any closer to his master, the voice coming from in front of the guild boomed as if it was spoken from the mouth of a giant. Stopping right then, he was directly behind his superior, staying out of the sight of both women that Jeremiah faced. Because of his and his masters position, he wasn't able to see the people that Miah faced either so it was good that he warned him about them. Shaba then hopped into the air - but not high enough for anyone in front of Jeremiah to see him - before diving into the ground and moving until he was 15 meters in front of the one he pledged his life to. At this moment both women would have stopped moving.

Long story short, the Dardian now waited 15 meters in front of Jeremiah, 2 meters underneath the ground which meant that he was in stealth mode. Nobody would know he was there, nor would anybody sense him from his position in the ground. This meant that he was only 5 meters in front of the Scythe wielding lady and 7 meters in front of the other blonde and her companion. Both women and the animal stood in front of the masked demon slayer, one being 22 meters with her creature while the other only 20 meters. The closer one seemed to be more of  threat with her Scythe like weapon in her hand but he couldn't doubt the other either, after all he wasn't aware of her abilities. Funny thing though, Jeremiah did remember this woman. She was the blonde he almost killed. She fled because she was a coward. She allowed someone like Jeremiah to continue on because she was scared and in the end allowed him to kill multiple Rune Knights. How disgusting of her, she was far from an honorable knight.

The women closer towards Jeremiah began to speak, stating all the things she needed to as a Knight despite her knowing the inevitable. Nobody in Phantom Lord planned on simply losing today. Even if they were arrested all that mattered was that they won. Not only was their guild on the line, but their pride was too. Jeremiah didn't respond. Instead he lifted his hand quickly before tapping his temple, causing a crown of white fiery eyes to form around his head, giving him the ability to see around him up to 5 meters away. Only a second after, the women whispered a word that was far too low for him to hear, however Shaba underneath the ground could hear everything and was able to understand how far from his enemies he was. This was a trap being set up and none of these girls or their companion would know a thing.

The Black Panther leaped back only a meter as the woman transformed into something magnificent, reminding him of when he used to have his Phoenix takeover. Despite that only being a few months ago it literally felt like it was more than a year ago. Honestly the women in lightning was stunning - no pun intended. Jeremiah watched closely ready to react to anything at any moment. "Fool. You work blindly for an organization you know nothing about, you deserve to die."

". . . .Why? Simply because I can."

"That is your only reason?" She had to ask, it would be one of the last times she could ever speak to her like this. After this moment, her consciousness would be reinstated and she would become mortal once more. She was nothing more than a child in the eyes of her, and would always be treated as such.

"But if I do give you your life, you must understand it is not your own. You belong to me, child. No matter what the woman and man say. You are not their offspring, you are mine."

Before she knew it, she would be looking at two souls she had never seen before. It was her new mortal role. She was to serve them, while owned by the one they honored. But her own ranking, her importance, was dwarfed by this woman.

"Do you remember your name?"

That was months ago, the day she found herself in this guild.

She couldn't hear any of their words, but she could see them. It didn't take long for her to realize what was actually going on. Shura had found use in her outburst, and Bodak herself had her face reddened with embarrassment. It didn't matter right now, however, she had to help her master, in whatever way she could.

But then she learned how useless she truly was. She had no weapons or tools like him, nor a spell to aid him. The gap of power between them was too great. The best she could offer was her eyes, and perhaps a relay of information between him and Miah, who even he made her seem like an infant compared to both of their powers.

She had few options, and before she knew it. She had to accept this fact. She was in the right place, at the wrong time. She should have gotten her tampons hours ago, and maybe she could have gotten out of this mess.

"Crimes??" she would yell at the massive woman, "We came to your help when your capital was under attack, and this is the thanks we get?? I bet you can't even list one real crime against Phantom Lord. She sighed, she could feel her own hormones rage all over the place. And she was gonna be dammed if she was going to start crying right now.

"At least we pay rent . . . I bet the Rune Knights just take in donations to run everything."

She had taken a seat beside where Shura once did, only to rest her elbows on her knees and face in her palms.

"I'd have more fun fighting hookers, but corrupt Rune Knights are just boring." She'd sigh, taking a seat. She wanted to start a war. Ending one was boring.

She was quite literally deciding on to sit this one out. There was nothing she could do. She was nothing more than a body to get in Shura and Miah's way. There was no reason for her to be a burden.

"If ya gonna arrest me, you can at least get take me to town so I can get my lady stuff, 'cuz I'm sittin in a puddle at this point."

Consider this my exit. Can't really leave IC since y'all got it surrounded. . .

Hatsuharu
For the Record:
The healer prepared himself to begin the run as the trio took position. He watched as his eager squad mate took the lead, expressing her impatience at last. He didn’t fault her for it. The titan magic user was never scared of jumping into the action as soon as she could; he remembered how she ran in to catch him from a falling tower during the fight against the Grimoire Heart mage at Crocus. Even if their approaches differed, he was glad he was fighting alongside her again. He knew he could trust her to have their backs, and vice versa.

The neko of the team decided to fall back ten yards from them and watch their backs as they ran towards the hill; Haru appreciated that. He breathed out through his mouth as he witnessed the steam exuding from Fia’s body. Even if he had seen her form before, it still didn’t cease to amaze him how big she can get. In a few moments, the woman was over ten meters high and moving at her top speed towards the guild. Haru grinned as he ran with the titan, keeping the formation; adrenaline pumped into him. Boy, was he glad he had these young women on his side.

Keeping the same distance from Fia when they began, the healer ran towards the short hill. It wasn’t until they began running up the hill that Haru noticed the man standing twenty meters from the entrance of the guild hall. What he saw was not normal. A slight tinge of fear overtook him when he had just climbed about forty meters up the hill. This fear did not arise from the fact that they were going up against such a powerful guild. It was more isolated; stemming solely from the man standing between them and the guild. The red-headed Knight had faced a very similar fear before, during their fight against the demon of Grimoire Heart at Crocus. There was no way he could forget that.

As they got closer and Fia slowed down, Haru did the same, halting at eight meters to the right of his giant friend when she stopped fifteen meters from the demon. From where he stood, the man seemed to be vibrating slightly. He couldn’t imagine the magical prowess of this man, if his sheer presence did this to their vision. The healer gulped, but was not going to back down now. He knew the risks when he chose to go on the mission; there was no way he was going to turn tail and let his comrades fight alone. The woman next to this fearsome man yelled some crazy things at the Rune Knights in front of her, but Haru kept his eye on the demon in front of him. This wasn’t a joke; he knew they would be levelled if they underestimated this one and got distracted.

Seeing there was no response from the man towards Fia’s warning as they ran up, Haru presumed they weren’t going to just come quietly. Too bad, but he expected that. The healer put his senses on full alert and decided to support Fia in case she wishes to initiate the attack, which he strongly believed she would. Swiftly, the healer slapped his palms together and then pointed his left hand towards Fia, casting Empower to boost her attack. Once the link was established, he would drop his hand and be ready to support in any further way he could as they engaged.

#20Akira Shimada

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Wed Apr 18, 2018 12:57 pm

Akira Shimada
It was strange, sprinting in like this. Aki wasn't the kind who particularly liked charging across an open field towards an alleged enemy. But the whole operation was so sudden, they hardly had time for any more strategics. At least it looked like their titan friend was happy with the way things were going. Aki ran on, the speed at which she moved was pretty natural to her, she could maneuver around things if need be... Warily, her right hand fell onto the holster strapped around her hip, maybe if the opportunity presented itself, she'd get to pull out her gun. Upon getting closer though, she slowed down, her eyes narrowing to get a better vision of the man who had descended onto the incline and stood between them and the guild. It was apparent from his stance, that he had made his choice with respect to Fiammetta's warning.

Now that she'd laid eyes upon the man, she felt the odd sensation... it made her heart race. Perhaps, that was the reason that the man appeared a bit blurry, like there was something there within a centimeter of him, like he was moving, just that centimeter, even in his stillness. Aki couldn't place a finger on what caused the man to appear different in comparison to the rather clear surroundings, but she could identify the emotion she felt. That same tugging sensation of dread. It made her want to keep her distance, just like it had from that oddly shimmering Grimoire Heart mage she had fought... A demon.

A demon. She thought, as the deduction crystallized in her mind. Maybe all demons were a little bit difficult to see? The essence of the demon inside them, perhaps sought to shroud the opponents in a veil of fear so strong it messed with their senses. At least this time, while very much present, the sensation wasn't as unfamiliar. The familiarity made it less acute than the day she fought for the crown. A swift reasoning followed as she remembered what had served to take down that demon.

Her choice of weapon changed, Aki chose to give her magic a chance rather than rely on her gun. She still wasn't sure exactly what transpired that day, but one thing was clear... Demons didn't like light and light didn't like the demons either. Her left hand balled up behind her back; she tightened her fist, while keeping her eyes trained onto the demon. When the time was ripe, she knew she could create that one-inch orb. When there was an opportune moment to use her spell, all she had to do was open her hand to give rise to the light. She hoped that she could keep it hidden, it wouldn't prove too difficult. Maybe it'd just remain behind her back... all its effervescent glow... stolen by the brightness of the day, maybe it wouldn't... Either way, now was not the time to make this choice.

It took a bit of courage to continue and stand in line with the healer and the Titan, as Fia stopped fifteen meters away from the demon. Laterally, there was eight meters between the Knights that faced the front of the guild. Now she'd have to wait for an opportunity, if she ever got one... She wondered how the Titan was doing, and the assassin who was trailing behind them... She wished for the Page to not get too close, for fear that the demon's presence might crush the girl's spirits, maybe she ought to take a roundabout way, perhaps towards Tsuru, so the healer could aid her if need be? Aki didn't dare turn to check on her though... She also hoped Asura and Xandra were doing ok, they were capable contenders, if something went awry, she believed they possessed the ability to handle matters. Aki wanted to crane her neck to find Tsuru's eyes, to seek reassurance in it, but she knew it was pointless, so she didn't. Instead, she kept staring forward, her eyes pinned onto that demonic target. Maybe if she kept eye contact she could prove that she wasn't scared... Even though that would be an inaccurate presentation. It was up to the Titan now, since she'd taken the burden of attack upon herself.

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Wed Apr 18, 2018 6:22 pm

Requiem
Charge straight at the enemy. An action that literally went against everything that had been hardwired into her mind. It wasn't until she noticed the man was....vibrating? She wasn't sure if it was a trick of the mind or an actual spell. Still, her near obsessive need for precision would be messed up. It wasn't until she saw who was waiting for them that she decided to peel off and head for the man who went behind the guild from her perspective in case he was going to flank them. Not to mention that from the limited available information, she was pretty sure her magic was useless.

Moving to her right, she made sure to keep as far from the demon as she could. It would take her a while, not being used to long distance running and all, but the move would be vital and maybe if the situation on the opposite side was under control she could infiltrate the guild for information.

The only problem she saw was the fact that she was seriously outpaced. If the other man chose to do his own ambush, Requiem wouldn't be able to fight effectively.

She handed a pair of cuffs to Jaeger, "as soon as you can do it safely, get the woman sitting there." For someone to actually surrender was a nice surprise. Requiem had heard horror stories of dark guilds fighting to the last man with no survivors. The loud woman's accusations annoyed the assassin, but the fact that Phantom Lord had a DEMON in their guild was enough to condemn them in Requiem's mind. Anger started boiling within her and her shadow seemed to darken with her mood. They wouldn't notice a few dead dark mages. And if she killed them, it would be their fault for resisting arrest. Nobody missed dead heritics.

Fiammetta Barone

AdvancingTitan

As she could've guessed, fighting was imminent.

But that didn't at all mean their enemies would be predictable. The moment they assumed such a thing was the moment they put themselves at serious risk. Fortunately, there was little chance of that happening, thanks to the surge of fear she felt facing the man outside the guild. It wasn't a crippling sensation, but it was persistent and unnatural. Fia wondered if it was some kind of magic, a trick similar to Sebastian or Salem's. Though, it certainly wasn't as strong as theirs, and the otherworldly vibration did little to disturb Fia, given how minimal at was and how small he already looked from her titanic view. She thought, maybe this wasn't magic, but just instinct. An animalistic fear that told her this opponent was not to be trifled with.

Whatever it was, Fia couldn't ignore it. She'd have to be careful, or rather, as careful as she could be in titanic form. It was easy to let it get to your head, being a veritable colossus, but to forget you were still human was a potentially devastating mistake to make.

With all that in mind, there was no doubt the man before them was their greatest threat. The emotional woman shouting at them, a bit less so. Fia let out a titanic groan as the woman rattled off the usual complaints, the typical 'I'm a good tax-paying citizen, what right do you have!?' spiel any Knight would hear dozens of times over their career. So, she decided to show them that talking their way out of this wasn't gonna happen.

As the emotional woman rattled on, Fia set her eyes on Shura, watching him in case he did anything. Wordlessly, she raised an arm toward her shoulder, and the small black cat upon it hopped on. She lowered her hand down to her waist, where it promptly hopped off, the feline landing on his feet - as they do - about 5 meters to the right of Fia's right foot.

And there, Salem Saberhagen sat. The mysterious black cat grinning deviously. A wild card on the battlefield if there ever was one.

Bodak had quite a bit to say, giving Fia time to keep prepping for when she finished. Her eyes were locked on Shura, and she'd react promptly if he actually decided to go on the offensive. As Bodak mentioned something about not wanting to fight 'corrupt Rune Knights, Fia retorted.

"SUIT... YOURSELF..." The Titan groaned, tensing her body all over once again. Though the fear lingered, an excitement grew within her. She almost smiled down at the demon before her, as vapor rose from her body. "JUST... DON'T SAY..." She got a feeling he was looking for a good fight. She intended to give him one. The Titan was already massive, but far from her limit. Her body grew another 10 meters, until she was a whopping 2137cm tall. At the same time, her muscle density grew thanks to a certain scar-faced man, only adding to her colossal power.

"THAT I... DIDN'T WARN YOU."

The Titan, at her maximum height, put her best foot forward. Her right, that is, as she stepped 3 meters forward and reared back her left arm.

As she stepped forward, however, a certain black cat instead attempted to steal the spotlight. As Salem set an inquisitive gaze upon the demon, before arching his back and hissing. Black smoke gave form a demonic silhouette, horrific in form, behind the fiendish feline. It stood at 10 meters tall, but was little more than a charade. One that, however, would leave the demon's strength sapped, even after it faded away moments later.

Coinciding with her cat's weakening of the demon, as the charade was formed Fia's arm began emitting steam, and no sooner after it ended, did that same limb start rapidly expanding, with Fia shooting it out as it grew. It would grow to 3 times its size, the speed of its growth only adding to the titanic punch she threw right at the demon, it's size meaning the arm could cover the distance with ease. It would aim to pummel him right into the ground he stood on with her now near 3-metre wide fist.

Not the most eloquent of starters, but it had purposes other than just offense. It was a show of force.

And a declaration of intent.

Shura Ranzu †
Spoiler:

A Phantom's Last Apparition F6DF3R1

Tomorrow is Mine

As much as Shura wanted this fight, a nagging sensation kept poking his curiosity. 'Why were they here? Who or what brought them to Oak to fight this battle?' Something major was going on and Shura's feeling of something going on in the world had only proved true. The Rune Knights showing up on Phantom Lord's doorstep was a good indication of that. Shura had kept to himself a lot of the time because of things like this. A storm was coming, but this was only a taste of things to come. The task at hand would not be winning this bout but surviving it.

The giant was fifteen meters away exactly. Her cries for surrender fell on deaf ears for the moment. He watched the group in front of him very carefully. No doubt his presence was causing some issues due to the ones in front. Woman who lead the charge was indeed brave in pushing through Shura's daunting presence. Shura steeled himself for the next sequence of actions. Timing was everything. At the moment Fiammetta stepped forward and the cat looked upon Shura he made his move. She was now 21.74 meters tall and something was quite not right about that cat. Regardless she was now in active striking range. Prior to her coming up Shura had already had his middle finger touching his index finger. Little did the knights know that Shura's left arm was actually a weapon. At the moment of her stepping up his left forearm fired forward with his fist clenched. It was aimed at the throat of the woman.

This was only possible because he was standing at a upward angle from her. Even tho her size had grown substantially this only served to make her a bigger target. It moved at twenty meters a second and covered the distance between the two in a instant due to her stepping forward and being twelve meters away. Even if it could not reach the woman's throat the mark would land in her upper chest region. At the same time as this happening Shura snapped his right fingers causing a red bolt to dash across the area at her forward leg. This working in tandem with the arm would attempt to cripple her.

This occurred at the moment of the cat casting his/her spell, and Fiammetta rearing back. That is due to the fact they both did actions at the same time. With his right hand still free he had to deal with the possibility of these attacks not crippling her. Even if the spell did not make contact he can snap again and detonate the spell. Shura dashed forward at the point of sending all these spells out, causing a explosion erupt at his feet. He closed the gap between the two putting him dangerously close to the titan. He knew full well he could get stepped on but it was more fun to play it close to the chest. By staying within close proximity the others would have to worry about hitting their giant comrade. Shura dashed in six meters in a instant.

Even if her attack went through, the fist would be directly three meters behind him. There would still be a six meter gap between him and Fiammetta. Every moment counted. The cat would cast something to cause a large figure to appear but Shura's mentality was unmoved due to the shadow being behind him. His strength on the other hand was not. He could feel his strength leave him, it was a good thing he didn't completely rely on raw strength. During his dash he flicked his middle finger causing a small orb to fly outward that moved faster than he did. He motioned it to aim at giants right side with his index finger. All the orb had to do was make contact with the giant. Being within six meters of the giant, he was in the danger zone while pressing forward. Before firing off the next series of spells he had to see what the first set would do.

#24Asura Nightshade

A Phantom's Last Apparition Empty Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:41 pm

Asura Nightshade
The resistance was expected. It hadn't come as a surprise to the older blonde when the figure, judging by the voice, seemingly a man, in front of them had outright refused to heed to Xandra's call of surrendering. Instead, his words echoed within Asura's mind as she couldn't help but ponder over them. In a way, a part of her had whispered this to her countless times, especially in those that followed the war and in a way, she knew it to be nothing but the truth. But, she had her reasons and she would be damned before she let a dark mage, who slaughtered for the sake of twisted glee tell her what to do. And, with that, she focused all of her remaining attention back on the man in front of them while sleekly gazing her eyes across the expanse in hopes of searching for the other figure they had seen gliding across the hill previously.

Whilst in their climb, Asura's sapphire hues had caught the motion of a blur moving across the edge of the hill from the left towards the figure and then suddenly, disappearing from view. Who it was and where it had disappeared to all of a sudden was a mystery however, this strange figure's sudden appearance had left the blonde on edge and hence, her orbs were peeled for any sign of anyone else. They could never be too prepared.

At the man's blatant refusal to back down, she nudged her fellow partner, raising an eyebrow upwards as she nodded towards her. It seemed as though they would have no choice but to engage in a fight. If Xandra agreed to the oncoming onslaught of gore, the blonde would then glance towards her companion, the Umbreon standing rigidly to her left as she nodded at him yet again as well. Rei would snarl lightly at their opponents, readying himself for battle as he would step forward two meters, right next to where the other Seated stood. If Xandra began to move, Rei would leap as well, keeping in pace with the blonde woman while Asura stood back, her hands which were previously grasped around the hilt of her sword, now taking it out and holding it with both her hands as she kept her hues narrowed in front and around her as she moved them stealthily, scanning her surroundings. The reason for her staying back being due to the fact that she recognized her lack of abilities when it came to fighting; even though Asura held the position of being a Seated, her inability to do much, due to her lack of magic and rather, average weapons, proved to be a liability and hence, she stayed back letting the two engage the masked man and only interfering if need be. Till then, she would keep her eyes peeled for any form of other assistance that could be provided to the Phantom Lord member and interject when required.

As for the Umbreon, he ran towards their opponent if Xandra had decided to and had already readied himself in case the masked man would do anything, whether it be an attack or a defense. Regardless, he was prepared for what the Seated had told him to do prior to them arriving here. His crimson eyes gleamed underneath the sunlight as the Umbreon charged towards the masked man, the blonde glancing at her fellow companion from his back, in a fighting stance, hoping that the two would be able to get this over with quick.

Sigh. An unimpressed scoff lacking in amusement followed her lips as her ears caught the words that were spoken by the cloaked figure who was presumed to be a man based on the assumption she made after listening to his voice. Based off of his words and perhaps, the lack of her ability to read people and understand them, the blonde was quite overthrown by the ignorance that laced his words. Did he not realize where he was? Did he not realize whom he was fighting for? Regardless, she wouldn't particularly deny his statement but she did feel a seeping sense of vexatious annoyance coarse through her veins upon the dwelling nature of hypocrisy that was left behind. "Not blindly, we quite well know what out organization does." That was indeed why she disliked them but an opponent had no need to obtain that information, "But you're one to talk. We may deserve to die but you ruthless murderers aren't saints who deserve to live either." A humorless smile fell on her monotonous face, "So let's tone down the attitude first."

The nudge that she had received from her partner while words were flowing from her lips, made her remember having seen, from the corner of her eyes, a relatively large figure guiding it's way towards the cloaked man, soon to disappear. She couldn't help but wonder where it went. Yet again, she found herself wondering if she had the time to concern herself with such matters. To the blonde, she always had her own ways of dealing with orders issued by the magic council and their order was to get rid of Phantom Lord. In fact, it was quite straightforward, they wanted them to arrest the members of the guild, be it dead or alive and they wanted them to bring down the structure these lawbreakers took so much pride in. Although she will admit that the idea was slightly intriguing for the sole purpose of destroying the nest where these mages gather likes bees to honey and possibly destroying the habitat of their evil thoughts and wishes. Now however, matters had taken a turn for the worse perhaps. Indeed she would have much preferred to avoid battle but it seemed as if consequences wished to force her into it. Be it the slight pride she had as a Knight or the mere hatred for those who hurt innocent bystanders amidst chaos, she knew she had to fight them and she was more than ready to and yet, she could also understand how the man before her felt. He too wished to fight for his guild.

That was perhaps what instigated the start of a fire within her heart. Although she believed that not all those who were members of such guilds were bad people, what could she do when faced with someone who so pridefully protects a group infamous for the demise of others? It was quite simple actually, she would destroy their pride first. To her it mattered not what his reasons were, she showed no mercy to those who kill those that didn't deserve to die. Yet again, perhaps that was the flaw in her but she had learnt to accept it. This wasn't just something as mere as theft, it was something far greater and far more sinister; it was something unforgivable.

She could feel the power of Raijin coarse through her body as her right foot steadied itself diagonally behind her left, approximately fifty centimeters apart from one another as her right hand which clutched the handle of her scythe pulled it down, raising it so it was perpendicular to the right side of her body and parallel to the ground, Despite it's weight, she was able to hold it with one hand given the strength he possessed. Glancing to the side from the corner of her eyes without turning her head, she noticed the movement of the umbreon beside her. It was quite refreshing to know that there was someone to help for the woman usually preferred to dash into scenarios such as this all by herself for several reasons but this time, she may perhaps need some backup. According to the rough plan they had devised beforehand, she knew that she was to take care of the man, perhaps alone but regardless, the two decided that they would rely on their instincts in this battle, simply hoping that the two women were really as similar as they thought they were.

Without a moment of hesitation that may prove to be nothing but a failure, she launched forward with Rei beside her. Time was of the essence. Failing to realize would probably be the most fatal mistake that she would make so there was no way she was going to do that. Launching herself forward, without wasting a fraction of a second after uttering her words, after the man had ended the deceitful sentence hidden underneath a facade of heroism, she covered the distance of twenty-one meters that laid between her and her opponent. During this time, when she was no more than approximately eight meters away from him, seven meters away from his previous position that her left index finger raised, facing him, allowing a thin string of lightning to escape it and accelerate, aiming directly at him. It was time to see whether the man was all bark and no bite or not.
