It had been a few days since she had that rather eventful encounter with Lacie and the misadventures they had experienced afterward. In the wake of those events, there was yet a story waiting to be told. It all began early in the morning, within a room belonging to a small inn. A young lady with long violent hair was relaxing on top of the comfortable mattress that allowed her peaceful slumber while a light blanket covered her body. And yes, all the comfort she felt couldn't make her truly feel at ease, for within her mind a troubling confrontation was happening.

Himura Tsukiko was standing in an abyss of darkness, one dimly lit by lanterns that were similar to those that were lit up at night on the festival grounds. Yet the darkness felt different than ordinary darkness for it slowly started to shift, shadows gathering together to form the outline of a familiar figure. A gentle pressure leaned against her back, a glimpse confirming that it was who she had expected. That white-haired girl who looked so much like her, and yet wasn't truly her had playfully pressed herself against her back, whispering mischievously.

"Aren't you curious to find out how your friend is doing?" Friend? As if on cue a series of vivid images replayed themselves in her mind, that's right... she had made a new friend recently, didn't she? "Mhmm~ A very cute and interesting friend." The white-haired girl remarked with a smile, yet she soon raised a hand to her cheek, the red markings that spread along her cheek like veins pulsing lightly. "I wonder how long she'll keep me waiting~"

And as if on cue she found herself waking up from her slumber, a hand reaching for her face as she sighed softly. Once more a dream... Rising out of her bed the girl found herself moving over to the nearby mirror, gazing at her reflection when she gasped softly.

Her violet hair had turned white, and her red eyes gazed back in bewilderment at her. Even her fingertips that trailed along the red markings on her cheek couldn't hide the magical energy coursing through her body. "W-What is going on here..."

She had taken this corrupted form, and yet her mind was still her own? She needed to think, to figure out what happened, and everyone knew you couldn't think on an empty stomach, and so Tsukiko wandered out of her room, trying to figure out what in the world was going on with her...

She felt sweaty, she felt horrible and there was no need to eat, for some reason she could only think about two things and one was rather normal but that one was even on the back of her mind and this whole meeting with Tsukiko, you could believe she would think of all the facts that happened but no.. she even seemed to have forgotten a lot of details. The red head, so to speak, had a new obsession. AND THIS WAS NOT WHAT SHE MEANT.

She had planned to get a nice new hobby, something about, well something boring, knitting, anything but not falling for.. well she wasn't sure if that was the case or if she was really just interested in the magic, asshamed that she might possibly have seen her underwear, was it cute? WHO CARED. Why did she think constantly about Tsukiko, she had seen her days ago, after that other disasters happened as is her life and now she suddenly was stifting her lips with the new lipstick and she couldn't even remember she bought it, she only wondered if Tsukiko thought the dark red colour looked fine on her and it was ridiculous. Everything was ridiculous about it.

For what felt like a thousand times she brushed her long straight red hair and she wondered what she should do today, she only went out to the festival in the early morning and there were reasons for that, she didn't feel like bumping into Rune Knights, which she believed had already gone wrong. It was very, very annoying. So she headed down, dressed in a navy coloured dress with a top that was sewed with the skirt but the skirt was completely navy blue and the top had blue horizontal lines across her chest and red buttons for show. It fitted her perfectly and she wore blue wedges as they were more practical than high heels during the festival grassy patches. Oh well, perhaps she shouldn't go today and stay indoors to find a real hobby and not another obsession.

She had just taken her seat at a booth at the dining area of the inn, a simple order of a goblet of cold milk and some croissants. Why cold milk? Because a girl like her believed she still could grow in certain places, and someone once told her milk helped with that. Why croissants? Because why not? Croissants were delicious when you spread some butter over them, and when freshly baked were so delicious!

And so she was seated, enjoying a sample of the croissants when suddenly a familiar face decided to show up. "Lacie~" The girl exclaimed with a soft wave of her hand to beckon the girl over, perhaps the two of them could figure out things together? However, as she waited for Lacie to approach she looked at the girl once more and hummed with a smile. "The dark red looks nice on you~"

However, it was in the wake of the compliment that the girl realized what she had said, right as she was chewing on the croissant, and almost choking on it the poor girl quickly reached for the goblet, taking a long sip from it. "Gah~ my mind is a mess today..." The girl mumbled softly as she shook her head lightly as if to clear the thoughts. "Do you want to order something also? Their breakfast menu is great, and eating food with company is always more pleasant." Tsukiko admitted with a smile as she rose a hand to her cheek and muttered softly. "Still, I wonder why I'm in this form right now... Is it a sign my magic is growing beyond my control?"

She walked downstairs and the first thing she heard was her name, nah she m ust be making that up. But her chocolate brown eyes immediately went to search for an answer and there she found Tsukiko. It was as if her mind summoned her to the breakfast room as she had not seen her friend before, well friend, was a bit of an overbearing since they only met once before. But well, it had originally been the plan to make her a sort of pawn, which was weird to say for someone that was weaker but she saw the wave and her body automatically came forward and before she could say hi, Tsukiko mentioned that the red lipstick look great on her and she moved her hand up to hide her lips, "Thank you," she muttered behind them.

She frowned immediately upon the idea that Tsukiko had trouble in mind and scooted into the booth to sit opposite her, "Anything I can help with, I would love to stay for breakfast." No she did not! That was crazy, she liked to be on her own, no one to disappoint her or annoy her, right? But instead she waved her hand, ordered mango juice which she didn't understand as she wanted apple juice and a bagel with cream cheese, which was what she wanted but it would have been more romantic to also order croissants, no wait, bullshit, she wasn't going for romantic, she needed to bond, get Tsukiko to protect her in case was necessary, pull her along as she had done in the incident of last time on the festival, which was a good start.

"You're welcome~" the girl answered her with a soft smile at Lacie's bashful response to the compliment, yet as Lacie asked if there was something she could do to help Tsukiko felt and thought a mixture of things. At first, she wanted to tell Lacie about the odd dream she had experienced, but then as soon as the thought had come, she had already thought something different: She didn't want to bother her friend with such worrisome thoughts. A part of her worried for the idea of revealing the existence of the parasite within her, to reveal that the cause of her magic was the mysterious entity that held her body, and quite literally her life hostage.

"I was just thinking..." The girl explained with a weak smile, trying to conceal her troubled thoughts and play a bit around the subject. "You see, a part of my magic is also physical." she raised a hand to her cheek, tapping the red markings that pulsed weakly while she continued explaining. "Normally when I use my magic I get those markings along my body, and my hair and eyes change to the colors you see now. Normally they are violet."

She sighed briefly as she took another sip from the goblet and finished her explanation. "But even without me using any magic right now, I'm still in this form, and I can't figure out the cause behind it." Of course, she wasn't going to tell it was because the parasite within her was growing stronger, perhaps best to keep up the illusion that it was magic instead.

"But your presence at least makes this morning brighter~ Are you sure mango juice and a bagel are enough? I mean... I didn't dislike the flavor last time, but you need to eat enough or you might start to feel weaker~"

And she couldn't have that happen now, could she?

She wasn't aware that she got a small blush on her cheeks, because she never really did that, she never felt flattered only afraid at some points. When Kon for example told her he would kill her, quite scary. Or the idea of being locked up for life, had her idiotic cousin not believed in a better half of her. She needed to find her, she needed to find Alice, she needed to point Lucifer in the right direction and be done with it but she couldn't, as she didn't dare to find her sibling. But only time had their fun and she was pointed in the right direction all along. But not now, she had other things on her mind or more like another being and she stared at Tsukiko.

She wasn't entirely sure if Tsukiko was honest with her, but who was she kidding, she would have done the exact same, this was only their second meeting, apart from running away from a Phantom Lord mage and thus being quite honest to each other about what they liked, how honest and well known to each other were they; not. She listened and didn't exactly know what to say, "Like I said I have issues with my magic as well, it as if I'm losing control over it. I have made an accident and I haven't used it ever since, bit of a coward to that point but yea, I am not good with magic." She wondered how Tsukiko looked with those violet eyes and violet hair but who knows, perhaps she would see her another time when it was normal.

She blushed again with the mango comment, she remembered how she had hummed that she kissed a girl with mango flavour, which had been her smoothie, perhaps that's why she had ordered it, no no no. She wasn't liking Tsukiko like that, "It's more than I eat most of the times." Which was strange to say for the girl with a bit of a round, doll like face, enough cheek and even if she had like a wasp figure, it was all in her face.

True, if she remembered right Lacie had told her before that there was some sort of problem with her magic. While the lass told her that she was eating more than most of the time, the girl remarked with a grin. "Really? For me that would be like a tiny snack~" However, she realized that there was this really curious little case of her magic making her eat a lot, something she soon remarked in greater in detail. "To be honest, I tend to eat a lot because of my magic."

A sheepish snicker escaped her lips as she started to eat more on her croissant and continued fighting. "So~ my dear mango-flavored smoothie. You mentioned you had issues with your magic also, guess we're more alike than one could imagine."

A little wink followed as she pondered for a moment and raised a hand to her cheek, tapping her fingers against her cheek softly while she sighed softly, a little hum escaping her lips. "I wish I was as pretty as you~ I'm not that fond of my looks right now."

The girl snickered briefly, a hand raised to her hair as she declared with a smile. "People often mistake me as being somewhat cursed, and when they gaze at me with those eyes it gets mildly annoying..."

She didn't want to eat more but she wanted Tsukiko to like her so she stared at what she had ordered, "Perhaps I could order something more afterwards." She gave a shy smile, why would she do that was beyond her but at this point that didn't matter. She needed people on her side because at the moment she would be damn alone in this match if she had no idea where Lucifer was. But to eat a lot because of your magic, that was a new piece of information, would that make more sense to her too as a Dragon Slayer? She could give it a try and else end up puking in the toilet right? She simply didn't want to talk much about food but if Tsukiko had seen the body her sister had compared to that off Lacie, she could understand that she was trying to get into a better shape by eating less. She was turning pudgy in that case.


But the next piece of information was that Tsukiko had a bothersome magic as well and as Lacie wasn't allowed to tell others about her Dragon Slayer magic, it was a bit of a shame that she shouldn't ask the question what it was for magic that Tsukiko used but she wondered than again if people in her situation would want to tell that. But than Tsukiko said that made Lacie like her even more, her thoughts had said love her even more but Lacie corrected herself because that was a tad extreme but Tsukiko called her beautiful and her bright doll like cheeks turned a very reddish colour and wouldn't go away while she was plucking pieces of her muffin, "Oh well, ehm.. thank you." she said losing the ability to speak. But she nodded as she understood what Tsukiko meant to herself, but all Lacie could wonder about that if she saw her sister, would Tsukiko walk over for her beauty?

A little nod was made by Tsukiko in return to Lacie's suggestion of getting more food afterward, causing her to hum softly in return. "You're going to need a lot of energy if you want to keep up with me~ Unless you're confident that your meal is enough for that."

She chuckled softly at the blushing cheeks of her companion, clearly entertained by the endearing sight before her, and finally after a moment she leaned back into her chair and stated with a grin. "You don't need to thank me for an honest compliment~ Although, that adorable blush was more than enough for a reward."

A teasing wink followed as she took a drink from her goblet and took a moment to consider the next course of action to undertake. What would they do next? Where would they go? There were so many possibilities awaiting them, and after a moment she seemingly had already figured out an idea for another adventure. "Say Lacie~ Do you have any plans after this meal? If not I'd love if we can hang out together again. I promise I won't let you tag along on another misadventure, today's trip is more the type an upstanding citizen would make... or a lovely-dovely couple I guess~"

She added the last bit with a teasing snicker, clearly enjoying getting reactions out of Lacie.

Right, she was more afraid that she would puke if she would eat more, however, she looked up from nomming on her food when Tsukiko said something about a lot of energy, were they going to do something? Because well this had been a coincidence, has it? She should not be so damn freaky, freak out over every single detail especially when there wasn't such a thing to have, do or whatsoever. She simply raised her eyebrow, "Keep up with you?" It was not easy to be Lacie, to not understand the meaning of the world as her obsession blocked her from that completely, the gestures, the ideas, it was so difficult that Lacie her blush only grew redder as Tsukiko mentioned that it was more than enough for a reward and that a thank you was not needed. She almost opened her mouth to thank her friend, friend right? again but she closed it else she made the same mistake and quickly plucked something off her breakfast and put it in her mouth.

She chocked almost in that piece because of that wink but restored herself rather fabulously, "I ehm.. am lost for words." she simply said and looked at her plate, who knows, maybe she was able to eat more if she felt like this, it was an unsatisfying feeling when she looked at her plate. Tsukiko answered her question in a way and Lacie stared at her and couldn't get more red, "Oh, ehm, I do not have anything else, I ehm, couple?" You have different types of couples of course but she had said lovey-dovey and that left no other speculations open and thus the redhead was confused, what was Tsukiko hinting towards, it was just a tease right?
