The road wasn't long, and it seemed as though they were safer than he'd imagine, given how things were as of late. He was happy to see he didn't encounter any danger though. He stopped to camp for the night halfway there, and he was pretty much untouched, even by the wildlife. He had run into a fox admittedly, but they were timid creatures, and it wouldn't take much for Zane to scare it away so he could continue his journey without any visitors. They weren't pests by any means, but even if the animals were timid Zane had a lot easier of a time walking when a fox wasn't near him.
Arriving in Astera late in the night, Zane would rent out a room in some local inn. It was on the cheaper side, but it had a nice pub downstairs. This was less of a high class bar and more of a sailor's pub. Sure, it was a little rowdy, but it had heart, and Zane would much rather have them then some stuck up people at a fancy bar. Stretching his legs, Zane got undressed and plopped onto the warm bed of the inn. Humming to himself, he quickly fell asleep, dreaming about what might happen tomorrow. Of course, none of that would actually come true. Probably.
