"Alright then," he said extending his hand to the solar mage, "I should have expected you to find your way into this Amen'ra. So...Let's take down a wolf." It was a light-hearted response and one that was eager to get to work.
The night was silent under the brightly lit moon. Kaz dashed from rooftop to rooftop, taking the high ground as Amen'ra kept an alert eye on the streets. Both of them had a sensory perception that could prove helpful.
"You would think a rogue wolf would make more of a stir in the town," he mentioned to Amen. Kaz stopped on one of the roofs and sighed as he scanned the area.
"You got anything down there," he asked, not yet addressing that the two of them knew very little about one another. They just seemed to find one another and start work. They had made a base introduction in the when the first met, but nothing of substance.
As Kaz peered around the town. Nothing caught his eye out of the ordinary. The streets were clear aside from the late-night wanderers that had too much to drink.
The lights in homes began to flicker out as the people gave way to sleep. In the eerie dead silence of the night, there was a faint breathy scream. One that vanished as quickly as it arose.
In the distance, a man stumbled from an alley. Blood smearing down his arm. He fell into the wall of the building next to him. Sliding down to the ground he left blood painted on the wall.
Both the mages would have heard that call. Amen'ra may have been able to see the thermal figure of the wolf when he got close enough. Kaz was ready to leap forward at any moment.
