#1Deinosuchus

Deinosuchus
Deino followed Drakkon out of the guild hall, his excitement growing with each step. As they stepped away from the construction he spotted a pile of timber that had been cut to various lengths for the ongoing work. He scanned the pile until he found one piece about the size of a spear. It wasn’t a weapon per say and just a sturdy length of wood, blunted at the ends but it would do as a make shift weapon. He stepped over to the pile and hefted the make shift spear with ease, turning to Drakkon with a grin. “Hey, you mind if I use this? Just dawned on me I left my real spear back home. Guess I got so excited about traveling here and joining the guild that I forgot all about my gear.” It was clear that Deino wasn't the brightest, but a creature of instinct. This lead him to being a good fighter and wise, but not the most intelligent.

Deino gave the fake spear a few testing spins as he adjusting to its weight and balance. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough. He stepped a few paces away from Drakkon and Hai, planting his feet firmly in the dirt. “Alright, lemme get warmed up first,” he said, lowering into a basic stance. His movements were measured and deliberate, the signs of someone who was still a beginner but had put effort into learning the fundamentals.

Firm footed: Deino extended the makeshift spear forward, his feet rooted in place. His movements were steady and controlled, focusing on the range of the weapon without losing his balance.

Lunge: With a sharp inhale, Deino lunged forward, extending the spear and his body simultaneously. His front foot stepped out to follow the motion, adding extra reach to the thrust.

Long strike: He pushed the spear forward, his base hand sliding along the wood until his hands met. The added force behind the motion sent the spear slicing through the air in a wide arc.

Passing strike: Deino slid the spear through his hands, releasing the lead hand momentarily before gripping it again. The motion was quick but it lacked fluidity and precision as a beginner.

Thrust: He shifted his weight, leaning into the strike as he extended the spear for maximum reach. While the motion sacrificed some of his structure, the power behind it remained strong.

Under the armpit: Finally, Deino tucked the spear under his armpit, bracing it against his body. The position added stability to his strikes, giving him more leverage against an imagined opponent’s parry.

By the time he finished, Deino was wishing he had had more time to train more fighting stances but this was the basics of what he had learned so far. "Eh.. Not bad, I think? Still new to this whole spear thing, but I figure I’ll get there.” He planted the butt of the makeshift spear into the ground, standing tall as he faced Drakkon. “Alright, Master Green Turtle, I’m ready when you are.!” His tail thumped against the dirt in excitement as he prepared himself for the spar.

Without wasting a moment, Deino’s body tensed, and he clapped his hands together around the spear. A faint yellow glow began to emanate from his palms, spreading out along the length of the wood. “Time to show ya what I’ve been practicing most,” he growled. He had been practicing how to use his magic while holding something in his hands and not dropping the item. It was a small thing but important.

The glow intensified, and a yellow magic circle appeared at his feet, he applied his mana as he cast Monolith Dragon's Armor. The ground beneath him trembled slightly as the spell activated. Jagged shards of stone and earth shot upward, clinging to his body.. The magic wrapped around him in layers, starting from his feet and working upward in quick succession. The transformation was as quick as any other D rank level spell with each piece of the armor locking into place like a puzzle. Finally, the stone wrapped around his head, forming a jagged but well-fitted helm that left his sharp crocodilian toothy grin exposed. The entirety of his body was now encased in the armor, giving him the appearance of a walking monolith. (Get it? PUN intended)
