The sun was high in the sky on the beautiful springtime morning, nary a cloud in sight of the magnificent Domus Flau: an arena as old as the capital city itself. Built at the summit of a nearby mountain the Domus had stood idle, only being used for the occasional fight between training mages looking to strengthen their own abilities. Never before has it been used for something as grand as the event today. The Grand Magic Games: a tournament featuring every guild in Fiore. A chance for every guild mage to showcase their abilities, and the strength of their guild. Every seat was occupied, as the public waited for the first fight to begin. The arena itself, a circle of 100 meters diameter with marble flooring, was watched over by four warriors: Hercales, Shaka Zulu, Miyamoto Musashi and Beowulf. Four of the legendary Nine Heroes, each with their glorious weapon immortalised in stone beside them, eager to bare witness to the power of Fiore. Both contestants will be instructed to walk towards the center of the ring, stopping in their tracks once both are an equal distance from the center and 25m apart. The fight will then be started via the sound of a blast from the referee. "The match between Alisa Vollan, the White Empress and Guild Master representing Blue Pegasus, and Venus Rosé, the Siren and Burning Rose representing the all-female guild Daeva Eye. Both powerful mages, and both having access to the Demon Slayer elemental magic, this is certainly going to be an interesting matchup." |
Alisa Vollan vs. Venus Rosé

This was quite the wierd place to be when she thought about it... A reserved woman like Alisa generally scorned big and flashy tournaments like this, to boldly show everyone in the country what she could do. The way she saw it, the less people knew what cards she had up her sleeve, the better it would be... But she was a guild master now, and that logic didn't exactly apply, not quite the same way as it once did:
"Venus of Daeva Eye hmmm~...?", she knew the name, sure, and didn't even have to wonder what she'd be like. Pretty much every soul in the country knew that much, many admired her for her beauty her strength... She curled her lip as she mused on the answer, and yet, Alisa didn't quite know the answer to the question she truly wandered about: Who was she...? They'd have you believe a woman this powerful simply popped up overnight, without any hint of growth... Simply born strong. While Alisa could most certainly relate to that, simply raw power alone won't quite carry someone that far without experience to back it. So, the question remained... Where did she come from?
...And coincidentally, right around the time when her close friend Snow herself vanished into thin air. She still hadn't lost hopes of running into her once again, but alas... That would have to wait until after the tournament. Taking a long, deep breath, the sculptress stepped up into the wide, pure white arena as they called her name, her head turning left, then right, a cool faint smile on her face as she did nothing but wave at the cheering crowd, striking no real pose beyond merely sinking one one hip as she reached her designated spot, resting her hand there as she casually awaited for her opponent to arrive. Clad in her dark, skintight bodysuit, hugging her generous, curvaceous physique and yet still leaving plenty to imagination, Alisa felt silently pleased to find her form fitting outfit fresh enough to move around in even with the sun blazing overhead. Though famous enough for spectators and her opponent alike to know of her magic, they'd have little information on her equipment, especially the brand new pieces she'd only recently aquired, and only really had time to test out in time for the tournament: Hanging across a forehead was a smooth, gleaming black visor she could pull down at a moment's notice, and draped across her back rested a seemingly innocuous cape with a rather flashy power, yet one nobody but Alisa herself had ever witnessed:
"I wonder what she has in store for us...", mused the sculptress, raising an eyebrow, taking but a single moment to admire the imposing statues of Shaka Zulu and Heracles framing the stairway opposite her, where her opponent would supposedly climb up from. Even Lumen could hardly contain her curiosity, the wispy creature peeking out over Alisa's shoulder as she hung there, letting out a low, excited little hum...
With her large, jet black blade resting on her back, gleaming in the sun's glare, its imposing cross guard poking out above her left shoulder, ready to be drawn at a moment's notice, Alisa was as ready as a girl could be. Really, all she needed to get the party started... Was for her partner to step up onto this grand stage and join her for a dance~

Venus Rosé Blade Dancer Alas, it was the day of the Grand Magic Games: the day the Siren had long awaited and prepared for. Her abilities had been better tailored thanks to a significant growth in prior from her rigorous trainings these last few weeks, an achievement that she quietly mulled over, time and time again. Though she knew better that her powers were none the greater against larger threats, and hence, she’s come to develop a great thirst for things that would potentially offer her a hefty challenge. It wasn’t simply just a yearn for power, but rather an advocate to better understand the energies within here, the mysteries that neither spirit could answer for her. ”Ugh.” The red-haired woman spat in distaste at the sight of the crowd that filled the seats of the tournament to the brim. Venus never liked being watched by the eyes of the public; ones that would judge her for who she was based on her abilities. The Siren was a pickpocket after all, who preferred to conceal herself beneath a mask and a hood to hide within the shadows albeit, to showcase herself like this – it was as though she was exposing herself to the entire country. ”Only here because of the promise I made to Miss Bo.” The woman reassured herself, mumbling to none other than herself while she prepped for the upcoming battle. The announcement would be made over the speakers and she would finally enter the battle grounds, clad in her black and red armour. Her entrance was greeted by the sight of the large statues of the four heroes with Musashi and Beowulf facing towards her direction. Venus had her full body equipment, as her opponent would too, with a flaming sword draped over her shoulder and a medieval diadem sitting atop her crown. Her companion, Blair, sat on her shoulders and curiously observed her surroundings while the Siren positioned herself to the designated location, to the center of the ring 25 meters away from each other. ”Alisa Vollan,” she pronounced, as if to help her recall her memories of everything that was related to her opponent. The name was familiar to her and seeing how she amicably greeted the audience who cheered for the participants, it was no doubt she had a favourable reputation, as well as being the Guildmaster of Blue Pegasus. Unlike her foe, Venus didn’t bother to greet the audience nor showed any acknowledgment towards them, thinking it was for the best to ignore their very presence, but would let out a bow to her opponent in courtesy.

Indeed, Alisa herself wasn't exactly fond of crowds herself but she didn't exactly mind so much when they gave her such a wide berth. Standing on such a wide open space with a ravishing redhead standing in front of her... She had to say, something about this whole setting appealed to the sculptress' artistic sense, all but begging her for just a hint of showmanship. As the woman stepped up to her designated spot, Alisa took a moment to simply appraise the opponent who would face her on the Grand Magic Games. Her visage alone drew a satisfied smile on the crystal mage' plush lips: As someone who admired beauty, really, she couldn't ask for anything else now, could she~? The golden orb atop her head, the sword strapped to her waist like something pulled from the history books, or even the adorable, cat-like creature sitting on her shoulder, none of it quite measured up the woman herself, her hair a more vibrant shade of red than even the wildfire blazing across the woodlands on a sweltering summer afternoon:
"Venus Rosé, hmm...? Lovely to meet you~", the sculptress returned the greeting, with the cheering crowd all too easily fading from focus. She had but a single target in sight, her posture radiating a palpable intensity, that of a martial artist who hadn't really cut loose in a long time. Eyes narrowing, she slowly unsheathed Yoru in the time it took for the bell to ring, "Let's see what you can do, shall we...?"
For someone as powerful as Alisa Vollan, wielding such a large, seemingly cumbersome sword posed no challenge whatsoever, even as she held the blade towards her side with only her dominant left hand, the tip of the midnight black blade hanging only a few inches above the white stone arena. She sized up her foe, recognizing she had to be dreadfully strong to end up standing before her as such, and if anything, the thought did nothing but thrill her. She gripped tighter to her sword as her smile widened, already feeling the adrenaline pumping through her veins even before the match began. But at this level, fighting somebody she knew nothing about was... Not ideal. To her credit, Alisa didn't really let that bother her: The possibility had been comparatively low, but it crossed her mind, and if it crossed her mind, then had made preparations for this eventuality, to put her opponent to the test again and again until that problem no longer mattered.
As soon as that resonating sound echoed through the colosseum, the bell ring signalling the start of the fight, Alisa made the first move, taking but a single stride towards her opponent, and then another. Picking up speed with every step until her walk turned into a brisk running pace towards her target, not anywhere near her full speed but steadily growing faster, staying light on her feet and keeping her eyes peeled on her foe, watching for the slightest motion, anything that might force her on the defensive at a moment's notice. With her trusty black blade at her right side, the sculptress kept her right arm crossed over her torso in a firm yet loose guard, her hand close enough to the sword's crossguard to potentially grip it with both hands should the need arise, but also ready to cast any spells at a moment's notice.
After passing the center of the arena, nearing Venus with every step, the sculptress made her move. From this far away, she could always rely on long range of her spells to force her opponent to move, and slowly get a feel for her abilities and a fighter and a mage. Demon Slayer magic huh...? That naturally implied the woman's magic would turn out to be quite similar to her own in more ways than one, and in that case, the only question left to wonder was... How similar really? And so, she quickly swept her idle right arm up mid run, flicking her wrist in a simple and subtle spell motion, as she activated one of her favorite, yet also one of the most basic: Stalagmite. True to its descriptive, simple yet elegant, if not overly colourful naming sense, the spell's activation unleashed a sudden, four meter wide magic circle underneath Venus' feet from where a tight, diamond hard cluster of glimmering crystal would erupt, striking her from below just as Alisa reached ten meters away from her opponent. Creating a shimmering cloud of diamond dust as such as her crystals would shatter on impact with her target, Alisa covered her advance, this too, in it's own way, just another form of sizing up the competition.

Venus Rosé Blade Dancer It seemed that this match would have been a sight for the audience, fortunate enough to watch two beauts against each other; one that resembled to an elegant spring flower and the other, a rose. Venus wouldn’t call this a fight, a threateningly beautiful dance perhaps, especially since she was facing one who could possibly be on the cover of a Sorcerer’s Magazine. Before the shots fired off to initiate the beginning of their match, Venus lifted herself from her bow, returning to her original posture and had drawn her flaming sword from the scabbard that was draped over her back. The blade having required more strength than her own forced her to wield the weapon in both hands, directed downwards to her right. Her opponent initiated the first move once the shot resounded through the area, showcasing her aggressive offensive as Alisa headed towards her with hunger for victory that rivalled her own. She’d remain in her position for a few seconds while Alisa picked up her pace and just before she could reach 10 meters within her range, she shot forward 5 meters ahead of her, using it as an opportunity to perform her first attack: the fabric of her scarf that imitated her hand pressed onto the ground below her, causing a patch of frozen spot to quickly expand over to cover up the ground of 16-meters in diameter. Having acted before her opponent was able to reach within the range to attack her, the sudden cast of her spell would’ve interrupted Alisa’s and removed the risk of being ambushed by her foe. Venus remained within a safe zone of her spell where she would be free from being inflicted by her own damage albeit, the Siren opted not to even hesitate a second when she tapped her foot against the marble floor to cast a defensive spell on herself, a layer of ice coating over her slender figure from head to toe, excluding the areas that would require her senses. In the midst of the action, she’d tap her feet once again, summoning another spell before her legs broke into a lunge into the direction of her enemy, her sword still grasped firmly within her hands. Upon the cast of a new spell, blades of ice of 4 meters in length emerged from the magic seals that encircled her, whirling furiously as if it were a tornado. The series of actions followed as the hem of the scarf of her robes formed into the shape of her hand, the fingers snapping to cast a spell that would assist her rapid movements; the seals on her sides enabling her to control her momentum during her lunge smoothly at her will. Regardless of her ice blades hitting her opponent or not, she’d act out another sequence of action afterward. The lunge that was performed earlier had closed the remaining distance between them, with just merely over a meter gap, large enough for her to lift her flaming sword as she aimed against her target’s torso, in an attempt to pummel right into the area of her heart. Had her attack been successful, the flames of her sword would burn her enemy's porcelain skin, leaving a devastating wound that could never be healed. Should the response of Alisa be to resort to her offensive methods, her next move would be dashing backward 5 meters away from her enemy using her spell and retracting her sword near to her side once again, holding with both hands while she took a stance; feet slightly apart, knees bent and her cloak ready to cast her commands, whilst she prepared herself to respond to any actions from her opponent and hastily conjured up a strategy of her own for her next plan, all the while as Blair sat on her shoulders, in an idle but watchful state to assist her owner whenever necessary.

Throughout the entirety of her advance, the lithomancer paid close attention to Venus' every motion or lack thereof, her senses primed and ready to respond to whatever came her way. As her foe patiently awaited for Alisa's approach, those few seconds proved vital to the sculptress who had more than enough time to build up speed unimpeded. She held her ground, perfectly still until the moment where Alisa reached just over ten meters away from her. She had no time to redirect her course of action, and in the end she still fired off her spell, allowing her foe to easily avoid the rising stalagmites:
"Tch...!", clicking her tongue, she raised her guarding right arm on reflex as she saw Venus dashing in, naturally antecipating an attack of some form and in turn covering herself and her armor with a dense layer of Diamond, one of her strongest spells, Vajrasāra. Alisa had no intention of stopping after getting this close, and she'd tear through whatever the Daeva Eye mage flung at her.
Relentless, she wouldn't move away, not changing her trajectory in any way, even when she caught the animated scarf reaching down for the ground. Trusting in her powerful defense, she didn't change her actions in any way, merely smiling as she saw the freezing pulse of magic. Lumen, in turn, didn't show nearly that kind of confidence. With a low hum, she quickly floated from Alisa's shoulder to inside the woman herself, posessing her, even without the power to do any more but spectate from inside her mistress, frightenly hiding inside her partner as she knew the sculptress was about to dive into the fray.
Understandable, she hadn't shared many fights with Alisa where she was actually pulled into the battlefield as such, and Alisa could only smile as a ghostly aura envelloped, empowering her, even if none of that could be visible anytime soon. She'd intended to hit Venus before she fired off her spell, but that wouldn't happen any more... Instead, Alisa settled for the next best thing: To hit her foe before the spell connected with her.
As her foe moved only right before Alisa reached that ten meter mark, the sculptress would have easily clocked faster than hers or Venus' natural dash speed, nearing thirty meters per second and growing faster by the second. But even that wasn't enough to stop her foe from firing off her mighty S-rank spell, and once fired, avoiding it from this close was nearly impossible. Her plan B, to strike Venus before that freezing pulse connected with her sword, had failed as well.
Though the freezing spell would hit Alisa exactly as Venus intended it, after the sculptress picked up this much speed, she'd have been much closer than the ravishing redhead could have antecipated, less than two meters away from her and stepping ever so slightly to the left with the last remaining paces.
Just enough to slash Venus with her sword as she ran past her left side, steering clear of that dangerous sword, clenching her arm and putting her full strength behind the blow, to connect with her foe the instant immediately after that freezing spell connected. Alisa didn't so much swing, but rather turn her body into the blow, keeping that arm close to her body just as she felt that biting, bitter chill travelling up her legs and torso, then finally down her arm and eventually her sword, preventing her from wasting time and simply focusing on her speed.
Despite the two layers of armor protecting her, Alisa still felt the cold enough for her breath to form a chilly puff over her mouth with every quickened breath, but not enough to stop her as she unleashed her plan C: Hit Venus immediately after her spell connected, before she could mount a proper defense. Frozen, brittle, and visibly chipped by the bitter cold inflicted, Yoru's integrity was hanging by a thread, threatening to shatter into pieces at any moment... But she didn't need it to be intact as it would connect with Venus right as the woman correctly cast her defensive spell, perhaps even moments before that.
Ordinarily, that alone would have surely protected even against a blow was powerful as Alisa's. But the sculptress had a trick up her sleeve. Right as her sword connected with Venus' defense, that spell would shatter as a seal of Blue Pegasus appeared between the two, activating one of her guild's abilities, negating the woman's barrier on contact and allowing Alisa's sword to slash freely across her foe's thighs. She didn't know how strong she was, so going for the legs felt like a sound solution to this problem. No matter how titanic the enemy, once rooted and stripped of their mobility, they weren't nearly as menacing.
From this close, with Alisa now moving faster than 30m/s, seeing this attack, let alone responding to it was nearly impossible, even in the off chance that Venus could somehow react in time to mount a proper defense, Alisa far outsped even the fastest of spells. It would undeniably put a stop to her attempted casting of the other spells, but even then... Alisa could most certainly withstand them if she had to.
Being struck by Yoru would easily rip through her armor and damage the redhead herself. With her natural instincts to preserve beauty, Alisa felt an instinctive reluctance to cut up such a vivacious vision like Venus Rosé, but in the end trusted that, even if the woman had no tricks up her sleeve and allowed the battle to end this quickly, she'd have the best healers in the country on standby to prevent any lasting damage.
That said, she highly doubted that alone could finish the fight. Just as Alisa had her layers of defense, the woman must surely have her own to punch through. And so, the sculptress made the most of this time as Venus held her ground in the safe zone of her spell, and continued her flurry of attacks, now behind the woman's back, effectively preventing Venus from attacking with her sword as she intended.
Just as Alisa completed her slash, as she ran roughly two to three more meters further away from her, readily following up her attack into a combo by turning her right foot inwards, tapping it as it came down to conjure a dash spell just her body turned, using her tenacious thruster to knock herself right back onto Venus: At the same time as she cast her dash spell, Alisa cast yet another one by sweeping her right arm, bringing it closed to her body as she clenched her right fist, causing a magic circle to quickly appear in front of Venus, casting her pummeling pusher, producing a large, heavy crystaline rod that knocked her into Alisa's direction, specifically in the direction of her striking fist as she thrust it at her in a swift, forward punch.
Alisa merely flowed into these actions as she had hundreds, thousands of times in training, needing not even a heartbeat between them, without any need to react or even think, and by pushing her opponent towards her dashing advance, while unleashing a straight right punch with all her might aimed at the woman's torso - striking her spine should she not have moved - this resulted in her foe approaching her fist at over 40m/s, far faster than anybody could have any hopes of responding to. All this time she'd keep a close eye on Venus' actions, ready to react to any attempted counterattacks that could redirect her flow elsewhere:
"You really do remind me of her~...", spoke the sculptress while executing her attacks, not breaking that flow for even a heartbeat, her smile slowly widening into an ecstatic, excited grin. She'd come here to fight, not talk after all.
Snowflake may be gone but... When it came to fighting power, Venus was a pretty close second, reminding her of that one person she always had a silent, unspoken urge to face off against. Someone she cherished, someone she loved like a sister... Someone she wanted to defeat. The mere thought that the woman standing before her might be her long lost friend brought a grin to her face, Alisa's very presence radianting that very intensity of someone standing before a long lost comrade and rival.

The spell should still be able to be activated and used in the thread without need to edit the contents, so Alisa will be required to edit just her spoiler in order to change the spell out with the new, proper spell.
Once finished, the thread will be unpaused. Alisa will then DM Venus to inform her that it is her turn to post. Venus will have 72hr from that DM.

Venus Rosé Blade Dancer ”Tsk,” the female gritted her teeth and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth in frustration when she’d noticed her foe covering herself in a layer of defense when ‘Frost Burn’ was activated. Alisa had travelled through her spell as though it hardly even affected her and would continue to accelerate in her direction without a moment of delay. Having casted her another offensive spell ‘Death Dance’ right after her first spell was activated, the blades of ice whirled vertically around her body simultaneously as the layer of ice coated her body and when the distance reduced between them – much faster than she had anticipated – she’d noticed how Alisa had slightly moved towards Venus’ right albeit, by this time, it was only ever so late for her to react to her opponent evading her attack with her fiery weapon but, long enough for Venus to hastily conjure a new strategy. With the ice blades surrounding her, Alisa’s weapon connected with one of her ice blades. A single ’clang’ produced from the contact of Yoru upon her blade was enough to tell her that Alisa was aiming to attack her with her sword, shattering into thin, tiny blades of ice despite all of this, her defense was still intact and her opponent would have missed her attack on her thighs merely by a hair as she zoomed past her right, with speed faster than hers and as a result, her attempt to pummel her sword through her enemy’s chest failed. Her back was now facing Alisa, nonetheless, with her companion sitting atop her right shoulder would detect every movement made by her opponent. Having the ability to communicate telepathically with her owner, the slick jet-black cat would be informing Venus from where her enemy was located to how she was moving and updating her every changing position, even including the details of her opponent; such as the amount of mana she possessed and the exact distribution of her foe’s statistics. Using the information that was telepathically reported to her, the hunter responded immediately and halted in her steps once Alisa had travelled past her and her companion observed at one point that her opponent had twisted her ankle. ”Vee! She’s turning back towards you!” Blair reported. With her spell ‘Godspeed’ activated once again by the helping hand of her robes, Venus would be able to control her motions without struggling to maintain balance and redirect herself in the direction of her enemy. Unable to predict what her enemy’s strategy was at that point, Venus’ first option was to resort to her defensive means and instinctively raised her sword to Alisa’s consistent head level to protect herself. With her front now finally facing Alisa, her opponent’s pummeling pusher was summoned just on time to push her towards her opponent. Surely enough, her opponent’s head would come into contact with the blade – extending the length of 1.5 meters from her hand – much faster than her fist to her body. When they had closed their distance, Alisa had mumbled something that’d caught her attention; something about her resembling to someone else. Did she know her, perhaps? Her memories of Alisa were almost little to nothing, other than the fact that she was insanely famous as a guild master of Blue Pegasus but she wasn’t surprised; after all, the strength that she portrayed in just a few minutes of the battle showed enough that she deserved the position and the recognition.

Even as the cat on her shoulder quickly responded to the activation of Alisa's dash, it would be much too late to mount a proper counterattack in so little time, especially after she'd taken her back. Yoru shattered in her hand immediately after, what little remained of it's toughness crumbling as it struck the deathly wheel of ice whirling around her. Yet as Alisa's punch connected with her foe, her brow furrowed as she couldn't quite hear that sound of bone crunching with impact. Odd, what manner of defense did she have? Even then, Alisa knew all too well that no ability comes without a cost, all the more so for such dreadfully strong powers. For how long could Venus' defense hold out?
In any case, Alisa had never expected to down her foe in one punch, so whatever questions she might have would surely answer themselves as she pressed on with her attack without a moment's rest. As the two fighters collided at the same speed and ground to a halt, Alisa's feet once more touched the ground below her in a steady, even stance. As she stepped down and tucked her head in slightly for defense, her tapping foot conjured another layer of armor, her second S-rank defensive, Vajrakālikā: Recognizing the strength of her foe and the danger she faced from standing just over half a meter away...
But Alisa knew how to exploit this distance as her opponent attempted to raise her sword and turn around, and simply flowed into action from her first right punch, into a second punch from her left hand, thrown straight foward from her centerline, aiming at Venus' ribcage. From this angle, she'd have very little chance to see, let alone react to it until that moment when the crystal mage's fist collided with her ribs. Alisa took care not to push her foe away with the force of the blow, by throwing a snapping punch which would recoil on impact, unleashing all of that energy in an instant, directly into Venus' body, wasting none of its power knocking her away.
By using that recoil to assist her motion, Alisa swiftly shifted her body in the opposite direction, into another right punch just like it for the followup, while rechambering her left fist in unison for the one after that, over and over, resulting in the fastest flurry of punches available to trained martial artist like herself. Her foe seemed almost invulnerable, and yet with such a swift barrage of blows pounding into her ribcage like a battering ram, the onslaught would inevitably slow her down, knocking the wind right out of her as Alisa tested the limits of whatever barrier Venus was using.
Yet even as Alisa attacked ruthlessly, relentlessly, giving Venus no moment's rest, she could clearly see her foe, her sword, her companion, everything clearly as day with full, 360º vision. This made it easy enough to follow the rising, circular arc of Venus' blade despite the odd angle that would otherwise prevent it. Her opponent, on the other hand, had little chance to see the action clearly this close and personal as she was caught in the middle of her counter clockwise turn, ready to swing her sword out at Alisa's left side. As her foe rose her sword from the right side and swung out completely, this made the resulting motion significantly simpler to follow, and equally hard for Venus to stop once in motion. In turn, the sculptress had but a simple goal, to throw as many powerful punches as possible before the tip of her opponent's blade pointed to Alisa's left: By then she would have easily gotten off two or three more hits after her first punch landed, owing to just how short a distance they had to travel compared to the wide arc of the sword.
As Alisa milked this opening for all it was worth, she struck as fast and brutally as she possibly could until that moment came when she needed to defend herself, as her foe sought to face her once again. At the last possible moment, she'd shift her left forearm outwards and up, so it would collide with Venus' left forearm, intercepting the path of her slash to parry it away: She swung her forearm with just enough strength not to be overwhelmed by her opponent's strength, blocking the path of her arms and preventing her from swinging out at her head. By keeping her forearm mostly vertical, she used it as a barrier, preventing Venus from simply shifting her slash downwards and strike at her body instead. And by aiming the parry near the wrist, Alisa could simply turn her hand and grab on to Venus' without any additional effort, literally seizing the opportunity for a trapping motion on her left wrist, securing the sword at the same time as she unleashed her counter attack:
"CHAAAAAAAI!!", and with a bellowing shout, Alisa unleashed her Crystal Demon's Rage with a loud, deafening, startling kiai that reverberated throughout the arena.
At the same time as her left arm defended, the rest of her body remained committed to offense as the lithomancer merely opened her mouth to shoot forth a vicious spiralling storm of razor sharp diamonds, ready to rip through flesh and bone, devastating whatever caught in the way. She aimed at her opponent's neck, ensuring both her head and upper body would be caught in the blast. With the width of the spell quickly spreading out to almost a meter, widening as it travelled, she'd effectively blast her foe in the face with S-rank damage.
As her booming battlecry thundered through the arena, the martial artist twisted her hips and shoulders into a full powered right punch directly at her foe's ribcage. It would strike at Venus' floating ribs from the left side at 2S-rank power; more than enough to cripple weaker foes, and still strong enough to potentially end a battle even against an opponent as powerful as the smoldering stunner in front of her. By keeping her arm loose and clenching her right before the punch connected, Alisa performed a grabbing motion as that arm extended, activating one of her most powerful spells, Vajradehā. On impact, the crystallizing wave would radiate outwards from the point of contact up to a focused area of less than one meter in size, dealing an additional two 2S-rank damage to her foe's torso.
As all of these actions relied on her opponent swinging her sword out, Alisa kept a close eye on her at all times, ready to watch for any motions, no matter how subtle, that could draw her away from this path, keeping her body as loose as possible, flexible, so she could readjust and respond to additional threats from any direction. She'd make no significant effort to grab and hold onto her foe's wrist that could potentially break her stance, or lead to her being pulled off balance, needing little more than just that opening to unleash her attack.
"So, what will you do...?", she thought to herself, watching Venus at every turn.
As expected, the woman made little sense of her words, assuming she could even afford to process them in the heat of battle as such. And yet the intensity in Alisa's eyes the perpetual faint smile painted across her lips more often than not made it all too clear. She was enjoying herself, perhaps a bit too much, delighting in this little chance fate had afforded her... To stand head to head against someone who resembled her old rival dreadfully so...

When cast, the circle shoots forth a cone shaped, whirling vortex of sharp crystalline fragments that spreads out up to eight meters wide at peak range. The high impact can easily push people back along the direction of the spin while they take damage. If she has others rocks in this spells trajectory, they will be sucked and rolled along the vortex. Effect: Extending a grabbing fist, Alisa produces a magic seal around it, adopting an adamntine form over her body, clothes, and weapons. The transformation marks the activation of the spell, but to actually use it, she must target a focus point touching her or her spells, within 25m. From this focal point, she projects her petrifying touch as S-rank damage. Alisa can exercise some control over what it petrifies, allowing her to grab things without automatically destroying them. If damage is not dealt in the initial turn, it can be sustained, but goes on cooldown after dealing S-rank damage.

- OOC:
Calling my hits both from the sword slash and the following punch to the spine. Due to Alisa's approach at a speed of nearly 35m/s and standing at less than two meters when the ice wave spell connected, Alisa's attack would connect in less than 50 milisseconds. Since she cast her full body armor before the ice blades, there would be no time to fire off the latter in time to intercept Alisa's sword. If anything, the blade would have already been inside the whirling blades' safe zone.
- Alisa:
Though the freezing spell would hit Alisa exactly as Venus intended it, after the sculptress picked up this much speed, she'd have been much closer than the ravishing redhead could have antecipated, less than two meters away from her and stepping ever so slightly to the left with the last remaining paces.
Just enough to slash Venus with her sword as she ran past her left side, steering clear of that dangerous sword, clenching her arm and putting her full strength behind the blow, to connect with her foe the instant immediately after that freezing spell connected.
Right as her sword connected with Venus' defense, that spell would shatter as a seal of Blue Pegasus appeared between the two, activating one of her guild's abilities, negating the woman's barrier.
- Venus:
Having casted her another offensive spell ‘Death Dance’ right after her first spell was activated, the blades of ice whirled vertically around her body simultaneously as the layer of ice coated her body and when the distance reduced between them
This would have nullified her defensive armor spell, broken her actual armor, and dealt the Remaining S-rank damage to Venus herself, with the damage healing automatically for 1000 Mana.
In addition, Blake reacted to the Alisa's foot as it turned, which was the activation for her dash spell. At this distance, with Alisa's own speed, this would still leave her body far too little time to turn around and intercept the punch, especially considering that Venus' Godspeed can only be activated when she is running or dashing, forcing her to turn around unassisted.
- Alisa:
- Just as Alisa completed her slash, as she ran roughly two to three more meters further away from her, readily following up her attack into a combo by turning her right foot inwards, tapping it as it came down to conjure a dash spell just her body turned, using her tenacious thruster to knock herself right back onto Venus.
- Venus:
- Using the information that was telepathically reported to her, the hunter responded immediately and halted in her steps once Alisa had travelled past her
- Godspeed:
- While running or dashing at her own speed statistic, the user snaps their fingers and creates glyphs on any side of her body to control her momentum.
On hit, Alisa's punch would deal 2S-rank damage to the spine, which, when healed immediately, would automatically deplete another 2000 Mana.

Venus, post #5, Venus begins moving forward and uses her scarf to make contact with the ground, performing an S rank offensive spell, as well as an S rank defensive spell immediately after. She then taps her feet again, activating her B rank offensive spell. She then dashes at Alisa, her scarf snapping fingers to allow her to activate her D rank "Godspeed" spell.
Alisa, post #6, she mentions she saw Venus stand still until Alisa had picked up too much speed, finally dashing inward towards Alisa. In response to this dashing forward, Alisa activated her S rank defensive spell. Then, Alisa states that Venus' S rank offensive is defended by her spell.
Venus, post #10, Venus claims that her whirling blades come into contact with Alisa's sword, and the noise alerts her that the attack is coming. Venus' spell never claims how high on her body is, so it's impossible to say that the blades wouldn't be spinning at her thigh. However, without moving to dodge or avoid the blow, Venus claims the attack missed her thigh "by merely a hair." Considering there was no dodging described, I have to assume that the hope was that a B rank spell would somehow deflect a sword that is bringing forth 2S rank worth of damage. It is definitely not.
Alisa is also at this point hit by Venus' blade, which shatters Alisa's defense but does not stop her in her tracks, as there's no actual damage done to Alisa. It just hits Alisa's defense and drags past her, or is kind of knocked to the side as Alisa charges through.
So Alisa's sword connects and does everything it wanted to. Cancel's Venus' defensive spell, cuts through her armor, dealing 1A 1B rank damage (slightly due to the Offensive spell and Robes mitigating some of the damage.) However, due to her helmet, this is converted to mana and does no damage.
Then, Alisa had traveled a few meters past you before activating a spell to redirect her momentum, back into Venus to deliver a blow to her spine. Venus' reaction to this is her companion seeing Alisa stop and turn. However, Alisa was charging forward full speed (40m/s). She would have been able to stop and slam her foot down and redirect herself backwards, but she'd be unable to just turn like that. Not a chance in hell.
So she'd be launching herself backwards, back towards Venus who'd she want to try and activate her Pummeling Pusher as well. However, I don't think you'd even be able to do that. You're responding on instinct with the redirection. "I've passed my target, now go back to my target." But you're claiming to be doing this at 2-3 meters past venus. That means you're activating all this stuff in .075 seconds? That seems a bit much.
Instead, you'd have traveled 6-7 meters, and that's assuming you're trying to slow down as quickly as possible. You'd then be able to perform your action of propelling yourself backwards at Venus to try and land that spine punch.
This gets us into the response post of Venus. Her companion would now have enough time to call out your action, as you'd be slowing, stopping, turning, and using this spell which would decelerate you and make you come to a complete stop for a moment, taking longer than I think you intended.
Venus would not be able to activate Godspeed, as she is stationary. Plus her scarf is now destroyed. Also, you don't mention you have Cooldown Reduction, so unless you do you also can't activate it cause it's on cooldown. Lots of reasons why you can't.
However, Venus would have the time to hear the warning and begin to turn, all while holding this blade at the height Alisa's head has been at. Alisa dashes back inwards, and Venus is knocked back into Alisa. Where the blade goes I'm not sure, but I'd say the idea that this lady with super strength is going to get too jumbled up by a D rank supplementary spell that does 0 damage would be ridiculous. The blade, I think, would then hit either Alisa's face, or head, but regardless the weapon is able to deal 2 S rank and break the visor. However, Venus also tanks the punch to the gut now. That deals 2S rank damage to Venus's now undefended torso, dealing 2S rank damage that gets defended by her mana helmet. (Also important to note idk why Yoru is broken according to Alisa. It's not.)
So at this point, Alisa has taken no damage but her defensive spell is broken and her helm is broken.
Venus has taken no damage, but has been drained 2S+1A+1B x 2 mana. That's (1000 + 200 + 100) x2 mana, or 2600 mana drained. Yikes that helm is busted.
So with all of that stated, I'm not going to bother bmodding Alisa's final post, due to the fact that there hasn't been a response to it. Just take all the prior grading into account, and it's Venus' turn to respond. You're both within melee range of each other, Alisa's helm is busted, her sword is still there. Venus' robe is broken and gone, and Venus' defensive spell "Heart of Diamond" has long been broken and dissipated. Alisa's armor has also been busted.
It is important to note, Alisa, that your spell "Vajrasara" is a defensive spell that protects your skin and your outfit, not your equipment. It forms under that. So your defensive spell remains relatively untouched.
It is now Venus' post. If you guys have questions please let me know.

Venus Rosé Blade Dancer The Daeva Eye mage had nearly used up all of her abilities at this point and Venus was just as beaten up as her enemy. The only reason there weren’t any visible scars on her body was only due to her immensely reliable Divinitas and her robes protecting her from the attacks but, in exchange, her magical resource was depleted. With the number of blows that she’d been receiving and her Divinitas tanking all the incoming damage, she could already feel her body burning out much faster than she’d hoped. No doubt her foe was strong – that was to be expected when you’re fighting against a mage like Alisa, she thought. The blow to her enemy’s head had been successful, strong enough to destroy her head gear although the plan didn’t carry out as she’d originally intended – to have her blade pierce right through her skull. In turn, Venus received a powerful blow right into her torso. Despite her orb absorbing the damage, she could feel the impact right into her gut that a grunt almost escaped her mouth. Regardless, the Siren didn’t stop; she didn’t hesitate not even for a moment when she realised that her flaming sword wasn’t strong enough to directly damage her enemy and maintained her sword at her opponent’s head level, aligned downwards diagonally on the right side of her foe’s neck. It was as though the punch in her gut woke her up and led her to carry out a series of actions where Venus would slice through her shield and across the nape of her neck. With her enemy right in front of her eyes, Venus would easily notice if she were to make any sort of movement. Had she decided to escape to the left out of harm’s way, the hunter would quickly follow without delay lunging into her direction. Fortunately for the Siren, she had an extra set of eyes, whose ones were no other than Blair’s, seated atop her shoulder and if her opponent were to continue forward into her direction or launch an attack at her, Blair would activate one of her defensive shields that would protect her from any assault aimed at her. Alisa Vollan – a woman whose name that she had now etched even into the very lines of her brain. Not only was she a sight to behold, she was also a threat to her, as of this battle; one that was strong enough to be considered her rival perhaps. She would remember her, surely so.

Alisa had clearly overestimated the potency of both her spell and her opponent's, having landed much further away than she had anticipated, but in return, the added distance gave her more than enough time to acknowledge she still had her sword in hand, something that understandably altered the flow of her actions. She'd lost both her armor and helmet in that trade, but her second defensive spell, Vajrakalika still activated the very moment her lead foot touched the ground, adding an extra, much needed layer of protection underneath the first. And yet the loss of her visor proved far more taxing than anything else. Reacting on reflex to the deprivation of her second sight, the sculptress simply shouted with bellowing rage, unleashing her Crystal Demon's rage by opening her mouth, producing a one meter wide magic circle right in front of it that blasted her foe in the face:
"HAAAAAA!!!", as Venus' sword connected mere instants before Alisa's punch hit home, the shout and accompanying spell came immediately as the blows were traded, ready to cover her retreat as she knew she needed to regain some distance between herself and her opponent's dangerously fiery blade. At the same time as she unleashed her bellowing shout, her mana flared out as visible markings drew all over her body, activating her transcendent transformation as Alisa broke through the shell of her Mortal Confines that bound shackled her potential... Something that so far, she'd never actually done outside training, never having found herself pushed this far ever before. Having lost her armor and helm alongside the boons they provided her, she whipped out her next trump card without hesitation.
Her cone shaped spell aimed to hit her opponent in the face, but instead, the spherical barrier produced by Venus' companion as a result of Alisa's advancing shout protected her, taking the full brunt of the sculptress's spell and dissipating it. Fortunately, her opponent's own followup wouldn't prove nearly as straightforward either. As Alisa's punch landed and their momentum brought the two even closer, the sculptress' neck all too easily aligned not with the flaming sword but the upper part of Venus' outstretched forearms. As their positioning would inevitably hamper Venus' attempted response, Alisa had just enough breathing to make a hasty retreat, quickly tapping her right foot, producing her Tenacious Thruster spell beneath her feet as she knocked herself five meters to her left side. Alisa was much too close to a actually see the attempted swing in time to react to her, but she knew better than to stay within an invulnerable foe's melee range.
She kept her eyes on the opponent throughout, head turning her way as she did what she could to avoid that dangerous blade, effectively forcing Venus to cut through what remained of Blake's defensive spell to slash her at her neck. In the end, Alisa found herself gritting her teeth as the flaming blade would rip through the spherical barrier, merely weakening the slash before cutting across one of Alisa's defensive layers, breaking the Vajrasāra spell as the lithomancer retreated.
As she pulled back, Alisa adjusted her stance: Following her earlier slash and resulting U turn, the large black blade in her left hand now pointed towards the sculptress' right side as she threw her punch, sword arm crossed in front of her torso. And so as she turned her body to face her opponent, the scultpress would raise her sword into a higher, middle level stance throughout her dash, presenting a very real, very pointy barrier in the way of her foe's advance.
Shifting her grip on blade as such, she'd make sure to slash along Venus' torso, simply slicing into her body as she moved away. She'd strike simply as a natural result of readjusting her sword, timing it so it would connect as she passed roughly two meters away from her opponent, exploiting the difference in range between both of their weapons.
No matter how much she wanted to, Alisa knew awfully well how a close combat bout against an invulnerable opponent - especially one as powerful as Venus - would turn out for her. Very, very poorly.
And if she knew this, then her foe most likely knew to press her advantage. Thus Alisa sharpened her instincts, and as she peeled away, she'd keep her idle right arm loose and ready, preparing to mount a split second defense at a moment's notice. And that moment came much sooner than antecipated when Venus lunged right after her hot in pursuit.
Nonetheless, Alisa reacted swiftly to the sight of Venus' lunge, swiping her right hand closer to the grip of her sword, activating her Pummeling Pusher spell, timing it to catch Venus mid dash, to push her back right as she reached roughly two meters away from Alisa: A close enough distance that Venus would have still run into Yoru's blade, the tip slashing into her chest before she'd get knocked back five meters by the spell. The ravishing redhead seemingly showed little fear of her sword, so Alisa had to take care not to let her opponent simply run herself recklessly through Yoru to reach closer. By the time she completed her five meter lunge, Alisa would have been facing her opponent, who would be in the middle of lunging in her direction, between two to three meters away, mere instants before the sculptress' Pusher spell knocked her back.
She kept her left elbow close to her body, holding the sword firmly in front of her, tip pointing upwards and leveled with her opponent's sternum, totalling just over two meters in range. The diagonal, slightly upwards angle would prevent Venus from being simply impaled on the sword as she dashed into it, and instead meeting the resistance of a firm barrier of sharp metal blocking her advance, before being forced back by the spell. Clenching her arm right before impact, she braced herself, determined not to let Venus close enough to hit her with that fiery sword. Having felt Venus' full range with her body now, she knew just how far the woman could strike. Should Venus swipe her sword, she'd extend her arms and thrust her sword out, steering it clear of the path of the flaming blade to pierce her foe in the chest, striking fist with a faster attack, using her opponent's momentum against her. She may be invulnerable, but she sure as hell couldn't keeping doing this forever. Maybe one of these days, once the tournament was over, the two might actually meet in friendlier circumstances: But in the meantime, Alisa made sure to keep her at arm's length. Well, sword's length in this case, but keeping a close eye on her every motion.

Venus Rosé Blade Dancer This was more than just a tough battle; the Siren had nearly ran out of all the tricks she had up her sleeve. From the beginning of the battle, Venus held onto the tiny light of hope that would lead her to victory and in spite of her relentless nature, she realised there was no point in fighting tooth and nail if she had already expected the outcome of this. So, when the blade was directed towards her, the hunter fended off the attack, swinging the sword through the air in a precise parry to protect herself and instead of running after her, she stood in her position, dauntless. Silence fell through the arena wondering what she was up to and if that was one of her strategies, but when no actions followed curious whispers flooded over the audience. ”You win.” It was as though her pride shattered into a million pieces and she felt as though there was no other place to put her face other than the shallowest pits of the earth. At the very least, the battle was over: it was something she looked forward to since the start of the tournament. The entire stadium roared with cheer as the presenter eventually announced the newest winner of the battle. ”You’re a worthy opponent as my rival,” she spoke, loud enough to cover the distance between them. ”We’ll meet again.” There was a hint of certainty within her voice, that they would cross paths indefinitely at one point in the near future: she would hold onto that opportunity for another battle perhaps and this time, she swore to herself that she would win. Venus left the arena with nothing but a single resolution that was clear as day in her head – to get stronger, and stronger. Not enough. The words echoed in her head over and over again as if someone had played a record inside her brain and put it on repeat. ”You did well, Vee.” The woman was brought out of her reverie when Blair interrupted her thoughts, nipping its wet nose into her cheek. Venus smiled, realising that it was what she needed to hear after all; a little boost of confidence to push her towards the path of achieving her goal. ”You did well too.” { EXIT } |

Alisa knew she'd be in for the long haul. One of the challenges in fighting an invulnerable foe comes down to actually understanding just how much damage you've actually dealt them and how much power they must exhaust to shrug it off. And more importantly, just how much else do they have left in the tank... When Venus ultimately kept her distance, Alisa too held her ground, brow raised, eyes narrowed, wondering what her opponent was in store. In the end, her words all but resounded through the arena
"Whaaa...?", the sculptress took a moment to actually register what just happened, to realize that for such a prideful woman to admit defeat, Alisa must have been hitting her for a lot more than she imagined. In her mind, had the battle gone on much longer, only the Gods could tell who would have actually claimed victory...
Between the sweat dripping down her long dark hair, between the crystalline glimmer of her her magical shrapnel and her tattered armor, Alisa looked obviously worse for wear. Whoever came out on top in the end, the two women would have been fighting for hours before either of them could claim the knockout win. And yet she was grinning ear to ear the whole time, even as the battle finally came to a close. In the end though, Alisa gracicously accepted victory, swiping her sword down, sheathing it behind her back once more as her smile widened:
"Likewise~... Never have I faced an opponent as powerful as you.", spoke the sculptress, brushing those loose wet locks away from her eyes as Lumen slipped out from inside the posessed fighter, while Alisa's transcendental markings receded in turn, allowing the lithomancer's powerful mana to subside at long last, "I'll see you soon, Venus. We should meet up one of these days~"
Now that the battle ended and she watched her fascinating foe, Alisa couldn't help but muse on the resemblance to her best friend. The cool, collected woman known as Snowflake hid her passion behind an icy veil, and the woman before seemed her diametric opposite in many ways, but woefully similar in others... She knew the girl would only seek to strengthen herself as a result of this loss, a notion that thrilled the sculptress more than she let on, leaving her skin tingling, all but shivering at thought of how much stronger she'd be the next time they'd fought. She couldn't let up. If she slowed down her own training for even a minute, Venus would inevitably surpass her. After a minute of watching her leave, the triumphant sculptress simply rose her fist high into the air as the crowed cheered all around them, waving before she too turned around and left..
