He sighed when he picked the request up and wondered just how many monsters they were going to have to deal with. The mage grabbed his jacket from the rack and his staff from the table. This was going to be the last time this happened so frequently. It was time to finally put a stop to all the madness.
It would also serve as a good distraction with everything else that had been going on. The heartbreaking situation with Noyiah still lingered with him. It would be hard to get passed the potential awkward encounters in the guildhall.
Then there was all the sudden changes that came about with Nuala. Things that riddled his mind with questions and bewilderment. Even with that confusion, it was something that was a bright spot among all the other things in his tangled life.
He swung the door open and headed out of the guildhall. Everyone else was already out on a mission of some sort, which somehow worked out better for him. He didn't have to worry about collateral damage and could unleash his full force. Something he felt was needed to put an end to all this.
The guild was silent as he strolled through the main lobby and then out the door. The only person there was the receptionist that gave a simple wave as the guild master left. He nodded back and was gone.
It was still the afternoon, with plenty of daylight to spare. While he walked, he wondered if the man he saw before was going to be there. He showed his face the last time and seemed to hold some control over the events that were taking place. It was also an eerie moment as the man seemed like a haunting memory.
