Hunched over, Kon clutched a pointed stick between his legs as he continued to hone the tip with a sharp stone. This process was done three more times until he had a cluster of makeshift spears. They would serve for him as the tools to collect the much needed food for him. Fishing using the traditional rod was never Kon’s forte and given the lack of his dominant hand, he’d be less than useless with one, spears would have to do. Taking with him a woven basket hastily made with vines and moss, Kon headed to the beach front where he had come from only a few hours earlier. Typically fishing would have been a lot easier for him detecting the living from the abyss, but now he’d be stuck using his single uninjured eye. This had offered Kon the opportunity to finally see his left arm once again for what must have been years. It was the same as it was the day that cursed gauntlet touched it.

One thing that did stand out was the faint tan line around his ring finger revealing the absence of his wedding band. He had never really known his partner since being captured and tortured by the Midnight Cult, perhaps he never would. Perhaps he was afraid of what might happen if he did. For now, that didn’t matter all he knew was that he needed fish.

Touching the consuming sand, Kon dropped the basket with his spears inside kicking up the coarse material into the air. Grabbing one of the spears, he ventured towards a water flat littered with rockfish and other sea life. He was no wildlife expert however he had always been told to stay away from the pointy ones, colorful ones, and the ones that just didn’t look right. Picking out a few crabs and clams with which he threw into his basket, he was content. That would be plenty, however, Kon couldn’t help but notice something at the side of his peripheral vision, it was a rabbit, or at least it looked like a rabbit. Knowing that it was better to have too much food than not enough, Kon threw his spear at the animal, landing true killing the fluffy creature in an instant. Perhaps he would make a hat, all he knew was that he also had meat.
