Erebus

Erebus had only briefly defeated the foes from earlier when he was running through the streets, still hunting this lich. His clothes were caked in dirt at the knees, and stenches winding with the smell of sweat. To be entirely honest, Erebus was sticky, and running a little bit on adrenaline, those skeletal dog creatures were fast, almost too fast, but Erebus was a runner. He'd been running his whole life, in this situation; it had paid off. "Alright I know that if I saw monsters, the summoner has to be close by, I just have to keep checking streets, maybe key buildings... Hm, oh! The Majura Gallery! I'll try my luck there." With two old knives clasped within his hands, the Rogue jogged up to the abandoned building, the door was creaked open, mysterious...

Pushing his slender, but well-built frame within the opening Erebus scanned his immediate area. Large, and empty, this place was more-like an empty warehouse nowadays. Maybe after all this fuss ended, if it ended, they'd reopen, but no doubt it was long since left to collect cobwebs and crawlies. The walls were and ivory color, and the floors brown, canvas laid prodded against some walls under plastic covering, and the room was... Eerily empty.

Erebus found himself remembering his childhood and how his mother would bring him here. Before she died, this was his favorite place to visit. The arts were a grand beauty, meant to last through the ages. That's what his mother would tell him, he sighed. No matter; back to the pressing matter of finding this terrorist Undead. He took about fifteen steps forward, when the building rocked under a quaking shake, Erebus threw his head whipping it catch glimpse as a horror nudged it's way through a magical seal. Eyes glaring, he shot his head to the left then to the front of him again. Three very large and powerful Behemoths were forming, "Ugh, damn it!" He said, his grip tightening on the old knives, he began to sprint away covering as much distance as he could whereas the beast took off behind him. Slithering satanically after their living prey. These fuckers were much stronger than the last hellish fiends to root up out of the earth by the way, they nearly tripled by diameter in size as opposed, and would be trouble all at once.

"At least I'll know if I beat them that the possibility of the Lich being here is on the table." He slowed stride bending his legs, his eyes closed and as the first Behemoth came within jaw ripping distance, Erebus went into acrobatic mode. launching with his lunge just accurately enough to soar above the entity's head and somersault into a ditch-effort back flip. Erebus would catch the neck of the beast like a Cowboy trying to tame a wild Mustang. His knifes sheering through purple energy, where he then tucked them under bone joints.

His eyes lit up in static, as he knew exactly what he was about to do as the other monsters drew near and his own began to whip around crazy with madness. Just before it could stabilize and use a hand to grab Erebus, where it would likely rip him to shreds. Thankfully, his god-like strength proved useful in this situation, he popped the vertebrae with a knife dislodging an important bone. He then released his hand from the knife and began to pound his balled fist onto it, breaking and opening the spine enough so that if he could hit the fiend just a few more times, he might kill it and move to the next one.

He was not successful. The monster picked him up and slammed him through the dirt and then dragged him with speed, his head hit the pavement and riddled he was not going to make it long.

Was it going to end like this? With him dying before his clear victory could be achieved? His head beat the pavement again and deafened him. The damage to his body was concussive, he doubted he'd be conscious much longer. But that's when everything got interesting. The other Behemoth's were hungry to murder too, and like animals roared at each other for their prey. The two others came for the one attacking Erebus, and do to it's nearly dislodged spine, shattered it instantly on contact. Their strength being near as mighty as his from size alone.

Coughing into the cold floor, Erebus glanced up. His eyes watered and his blood vessel in his eye had popped. The monsters were setting in, ignoring each other for him. Seems they had accidentally killed their fellow behemoth, not noting his damage onto the creature had nearly broken it to pieces. But now they were setting back in on him. He grabbed his one knife that lay before him and forced himself to his feet. He knew taking damage would be critical, it would end in death. Nimble-- avoidance; would be the way to victory if there was one.

Erebus

Crash! The arm of the infernal busted concrete as Erebus lunged out of the way, he spun, as he shot back inward. Three spins as the knife carved gashes into the face of the powerful monster. planting his knee to the dirt, he used his strength to glide in the opposite direction as he spun through the air coming for the other beast which was reeling inward to bite him. Upward! A ferocious uppercut by the rogue sent the fiend's jaw up as if to let the monster see the ceiling. No time to waste however, Erebus began to saw into the creature's neck, one - two - three- four - five. Five licks and he bounded out of the proximity in a showstopping backflip.

Gasping for his stamina, which was eaten at by the countless cigarettes he ingested. Erebus held his arm, his elbow hurt, only proving his endurance to be as lackluster as he'd imagined it being. These jokers' were tough, but nothing he couldn't handle it seemed. For when they came back after him, their senses had dulled from the head riddling shots both had sustained only seconds ago. Erebus bounded, throwing his back foot ahead of his body to further stun the primordial behemoth. After doing such, Erebus tucked into a matrix-style back-bend and thrusted at his highest top speed to swipe his other Rusty Dagger from the ground; up until now, he just hadn't had the time to retrieve the weapon.

NOW WAS DIFFERENT! Erebus roared into the vicinity of the opposing Behemoth, like a bat from hell, the rogue danced around the slithering monsters, unable to keep up with his lightning fast lunges, he poked at prodded at their withering undead corpse, until signs of fortification lingered little. The tide was in his favor, all he needed was to keep up his speed. Then, pissed now by their obvious frustrations. The Skeletal Behemoth's squeled angry, their own movements pacing faster, Erebus began to slow, he had to hold this fight up longer, a few more spinal column injuries and the beasts would die. Then in the blind spot of his visions, he missed a hand reach in, bony clawed points pierced his abdomen, and heaved him through the air, slamming his body. Inches of bone gripped his guts, then let go, as the monster prepared to dive in and feast. But Erebus couldn't fall here, in the heat of the moment, he had to rise. Pulling from his body, the last bit of energy he had, he rolled painfully over his neck back to his feet and lunged backwards, missing a bite to the neck by just the hairs on his head. when he feet touched concrete again, the rogue took off-- rocketing into the foe, and losing a dagger through it's cracked broken skull.

The second behemoth was down. Which meant the last of this terrible trio was left to die. Erebus coughed up a spool of blood. No time like the right time, to switch out your odds of defeat. Erebus took off for the target, rolling and swiping at each other, the dirt-clouds seeming to cover their bodies and pain the scene up in suspense. Of course, the heroes win, and it would have been ugly to lose from a monster like that. Erebus stepped out of the fog beat up, clothes ripped, and his stomach leaking blood. He sighed, with a fight that long and arduous there was no way the Lich would have stuck around, he was probably somewhere else. Which begged the questions-- could he even beat the Lich? His summons were tough, and Lich have mana pool out the ass... Tsk, well at least he could try. Time to get to the spokesperson and collect some more information.
