It was a hot summer's day and the sun was blazing hot. Birds tweet in the treetops, On a field somewhere in the world Steel was standing around. At this point he had dropped his heroic guise, he didn’t know if he could call himself a hero anymore. Sure he wanted to but the things he had done while most of them had been good he had still done evil things. He had tortured a guy for one. Steel was wearing his vanguard armor and wielding his executioner’s blade. He had all his gear on him when out of the sky as if by some sort of miracle an unusual wyvern had been drawn to him. It flew down and landed in front of him. This giant beast of a creature could probably kill him at any time by simply plucking Steel up in it’s jaws.
Weirdly enough it did not seem interested in taking offensive action against Steel as it just stood there eyeing him. Maybe it was sizing Steel up to see if it could truly beat Steel in a fight. Maybe it was afraid of Steel because of his big stature and the fact that Steel was not afraid of it. It was as if he was drawn to Steel by some weird fate. The wyvern bowed its head in respect towards Steel and Steel bowed back.
Slowly Steel moved towards the wyvern. He was continuously ready to jump back if it got frightened and decided to attack him but the wyvern did not attack. It simply waited for Steel to get nearby and when he got close enough it lowered a wing in a way urging Steel to get on. Steel didn’t know if he should do it but he did anyway. First he strapped his executioner's blade in a hanging position so that it wouldn’t get in his way when riding the wyvern. Then he walked close to the side of the wyvern and tried to slowly climb up. The wyverns seemed to want to joke with Steel a little bit when it nabbed playfully at Steel’s back. He was getting some mixed signals. But Steel climbed up anyways.
After climbing up and grabbing hold the wyvern took off. It ran for a bit as if to get the speed to take off and just as Steel thought “fly” the wyvern seemed to understand that Steel thought it and flapped its wings taking off into the air.
Rising higher and higher Steel held on tighter and tighter as what he thought was sanity started slipping from him. It felt like the wyvern wanted to show him something. A whole new world, a fantastic point of view born from watching Earthland from the sky, Steel felt like the king of the world but as a reality check the wyvern easily shook Steel off. He fell. They were maybe a thousand feet of the ground. The fall time to the ground would be something like a hundred seconds before hitting the ground and becoming paste. Around forty seconds of falling the wyvern who had dived after Steel caught up and catched him in one of it’s claws.
It was a bit like a trust fall. A classic team building exercise except for the fact that if the wyvern had not caught Steel he would have been a big pile of paste on the ground. The wyvern then rose high into the sky again whilst allowing Steel to climb back on. This time Steel did not feel as nervous as he had before and felt free as the wind blew through his hair. It got colder the higher they got but staying at around a thousand feet of the ground seemed fine for any sort of travel. Steel did not really know where they were going but the wyvern seemed to lead them northward. After a long time of travelling they stopped having reached the Sieghart mountains.
